You're Special To Me

Hi Bloggers!  Pretty in peach describes today's blog offering!  I wanted to show off the Belgian Borders and Corners a bit so I cut four of the borders in white using both die pieces and cut four of the "outie" corners in white using both of the die pieces.  I cut a piece of peach card and embossed it with the Dotty Daisy embossing folder.  I glued the four corners into place first, then added the borders between each of the corners, cutting them down in size to fit.  Next I cut the Belgian Background in white and backed it with the same peach card.  I cut it in half, removed a bit of the centre and reassembled it into a square shape.  I added it to the centre of the embossed section.  Next I cut four more of the "outie" corners and backed them in white.  I assembled them so that they nicely created a small frame and added mounting foam to the back to raise them.  I stamped a sentiment and added the corner frame to it.  I seated it in the centre of the card and added some poppies cut out of peach card as accents.  I used a bit of Trailing Ivy and a butterfly as accents.  I finished the card on a white on white mat.  The finished dimensions are 8 1/4" x  8 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Beautiful card Sue. Love the lacy look and flowers.
Tracey and family, I am so very sorry to hear that your dad has passed away. You have done an amazing job of being there for him when he needed you most, especially as you are not in the best of health yourself. Take heart that he is now at peace, will never have pain again and he had the love of his girls to support him through his illness. We are here for you when you need us.
Elaine, Andrew has been through a major op and complications after, he will be weak and also his morale won't be high. Let the nurses do their bit and that leaves you time to spend together which will help him. Give him my best wishes.
Tina hope Mick is improving.
Norah, what great news about Rory, he truly is a joy to you and such a courageous young man, he will not let anything daunt him. Well done Rory.
Thinking of Tina E and Claire, and all of our missing friends.

Morning Sue
What a gorgeous card this is. I am pleased to say that now I am the proud owner of the Belgian collection I will be able to attempt to replicate something similar. So much versatility and as yet have not played with the newest addition to my Sue collection but am hoping that I can rectify that situation. Thank you Sue for so much wonderful inspiration x
Apologies for my absence since Monday. Was done in Tuesday and still pretty knackered Wednesday and thought I would be back on top of things yesterday but a migraine took hold and that was the end of that x
Tracy - I am so sorry to hear that your dad lost his fight last night. My heart goes out to you and your family. I wish I could put by arms around you and give you a big hug. You were there for him at the end which is a blessing and what you wanted. I know that grief is so strange and takes hold of people in so many different ways. When I
lost my partner it was very surreal and took a while for me to fully comprehend
things with clarity. I know that remembering Steve with friends and family with laughter focussing on the countless good times was a huge comfort to me and helped me get through the many tears and low moments.
Although planning the funeral will be difficult I found it made easier by looking on it as an honour and the last thing that I could do for Steve. I know it is a bit of a cliché but you need to take every day as it comes and do things in your own way. There is no right or wrong way to deal with the aftermath of losing a loved one but please do not forget about looking after yourself x
Sending you love and know that you are in my thoughts x
Going to sign off now. Want to send love and happy thoughts to everyone. Take care and take time to appreciate loved ones.

Good morning Sue and the Wilsonettes,
This is a gorgeous card Sue, so feminine and pretty and i have got the Belgium set coming so i can make the most of it just for a change although i don't have the poppies but i have other lovely flowers that i can make to put on it. Make that i have my Belgium set, whoopee as the UPS man has just delivered it to me. Thank you Sue for such a wonderful piece of inspiration that is just so lovely and i have a very special old lady in mind for it, my son in laws granny. This is old lady gives you the most wonderful boost as she had kept all the cards that i have made for her and just gets so much pleasure from them and that is the best part, just making her day.
Tracy flower i am so very sorry that your beloved dad has gone from your life but he will never be gone from your heart or mind. You did everything you possibly could for him and most of all you showed him just how much you loved him and that is priceless. You let him right up to the end do it the way he wanted instead of what you wanted to do and that dignity that you gave him speaks volumes. I hope that you and your sister get through this next wee while with some strength and courage flower. It is going to be incredibly hard flower but you will get there slowly but surely and it takes a while, a long while but we are all here for you when you need us or want us. Sending you the only kind of hugs i can but oh so wish i could just be there to give you the real thing. HUgs to your sister as well as she is going to be just as devastated.
Yvonne, sorry to hear that you have had a number of bad days as i know that feeling oh so well, as i seem to get knackered very qickly and easily these days. My school friends sister in law had IVF and had twins last year at the age of 48, that i cannot comprehend and they will be getting to their feet just like Harry and running around going through their various stages, oh no it makes me tired just thinking about it. Anyway flower i hope you are feeling a bit better today.
Hugs to Mick and TIna, Andrew and Elaine and anyone else that needs, could do with or just wants,
love and crafty hugs

Hi Sue,
I would say beautiful in peach rather than pretty. This is the kind of card I would be thrilled to be able to make!
I'm a bit late in posting today, I've been fighting with a new phone all afternoon and then calling O2 to try and sort things out. Why on earth do new phone not come with an instruction manual!!! I paid a LOT for it...well, a lot for me at least, so you'd think they could at least give me some instructions. I now have to go back into town tomorrow and ask them to transfer all my contacts and photos from the old phone as it seems they were all saved on the phone and not the memory card...bother!!

Tracy, I was so sorry to hear that you dad had passed. I think he must have known he was closer to the end than everyone thought and that is why he made the arrangements that he did. He's at peace now. I have to tell you something...I got to the hospital about 5 minutes after my dad had passed. He was still warm and he looked really at peace. The dark shadows under his eyes had faded and he looked like he had no pain. I told my friemds that he hadn't looked so well in ages (which made them laugh at me). I think you know what I mean though. Your beloved dad is in a better place now and he's looking down on you to make sure you get through this. We are all here for you when you need us, warm hugs to you and your family.

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

What a peachy delight! The colour combination of this design is luscious and summery and really compliments the delicate Lacey effect of the background . I particularly adore the dotty EF, it adds a further dimension to the background and compliments the floral embellishments beautifully....using them to disguise the join is genius.....yet again I am regretting my decision not to invest in the Belgian collection because it's stunning, the components are beautiful. Lovely card and innovative design Sue, well done!
I'm square eyed this evening after watching tennis since 1pm....men's semi final day is my favourite day of the championship and I can't bear to miss a moment of it. A little sad that Federers got beaten but my man Andy is safely through so looking forward to the final on Sunday.....maybe next week I can actually get back into my craftroom and use the sets of dies that arrived this morning:-)
It's my late Dads birthday next week and I'm planning to travel and visit his grave for the first time with some flowers to mark it.....I can't believe it's nearly five months since he passed, I wasn't able to be with him at the end or attend his funeral and I've found it hard to compute that he's gone, I'm hoping doing this will make it seem real and help me move forward....I miss him so much and can't believe I won't see him again.
Tracy, I wish that I could offer you some useful practical advice about how to deal with the loss of your Dad but I'm still in the early days of my own grieving process. One thing that I think may be of a comfort to you in the future is being able to be there at your Dads moment of passing, it will help with the stages of grieving you will have to go through. Though you will miss him dreadfully, comfort can be gleaned from the knowledge that he isn't suffering anymore and the practicalities of the funeral will distract you during those first difficult weeks. My heart goes out to you and your sister, I wish you all the best as you learn to cope with your dreadful loss, come back to us when you are ready honeyxxxx
P, did your appointment go well this morning?....I hope soxxxx
Yvonne, you've been really struggling this week so I will make a special effort to be nice and wish you a speedy recovery....don't get too used to it though mind you:-) chronic fatigue is a real pain, particularly when you were previously so active but you just have to learn to take things at a more respectable pace especially given your age:-) Get better soon honey, I miss your barbed witxxxx
Pat, hugs to you and Sarah, did she enjoy her break away?
Elaine, hugs to you, Andrew and Darren, hope they are well on the road to recovery.
Tina, hugs to you and Mick, how is his recovery coming along, has he got his new wheelchair yet?
Cuddles to my blog buddies including Beth, Pam, Maria, Theresa, Lorraine, Linda, Wheely bad, Rebecca , Frances and Alison xxxx

All these dies look amazing used together in this way. I only thing I am not so keen on strangely enough is the peach colour. I am just not a peach kind of person !!! I do not own any Belgian dies yet but maybe one day !!! I do love that background EF and of course the gorgeous exquisite poppies !!!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful card with us today Sue. Lots of love to you from Tres x x x

Tracey I am so very sorry to hear your sad news about your dear beloved Dad. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Sending lots of love and special hugs from Tres x x x

Sending lots of love to everyone from Tres x x x

Gorgeous card. Love the peach colour and the embossing folder.
Yesterday's card was really pretty, too. I might be able manage the colouring on vellum.
Take care everyone.
