Striped Poppy Card

Hi bloggers!  We are back to three a week videos for awhile.  Today's video card features a bit of dimensional layering and a pretty way to create a flower with a bit different look to it too.

The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  8 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Elaine, you are doing the right thing, what a nightmare neighbour, you will never get anywhere with her yourself. I hope Andrew is better today, such a brave man.
Tina, Mick has really got an appetite, just wish he could be more comfortable, they say August is going to be much cooler.
Trish, what a nightmare, I haven't been abroad since Tim died 2 years ago, things like this and the terrorist attacks put me off.
Tracey, you are always in my thoughts, 1 Day at a time, honey.
Donna, thinking of you for yesterday.
I have to agree with the ladies yesterday, it is sad to see people who only visit when there are giveaways, Sue deserves so much better than that.
Hugs to all Wilsonettes, have a good day, my daughter and the twins are taking me for a Carvery tea after work today, the boys love it but Jack won't eat meat that he has to chew lol.

Morning Sue. My small clump of grey matter is completely fuddled. I've seen this recently or it's twin ! I can't imagin you have posted this beauty twice in a matter of weeks, not unless your brain is as fuddled as mine, which I doubt very much lol so now I'm going to have to wake up this small grey clump of mush and think where I've seen it, ahhh - could it be the fb group - could be as Beverly F posts some magnificent work that could be passed as work done by your clever hands, I shall have to investigate later lol. It's so nice to see how different your poppy dies look with just a few brush strokes of colour. Yes I love all your collections since the very first set you designed, but the flowers, how I adore all the flowers cuz with the smallest of tweaks they can look so different, every single flower die you create must have half a dozen or more ways to shape and mould to make them look so different and I love it. We have to list the dies used when uploading our work to the fb page and sometimes the members have lovingly folded petals and moulded them to such a degree that if it wasn't listed you wouldn't believe it's the peony or the daisy or sweet little sweetheart dies, it just confirms (especially to the new crafters that have found your dies - and there's a fair few now Sue) just how versatile your collections are, there is so much we'll deserved praise for you in those groups ☺
Well I'll leave you to it. How glad I am that it's cooled off, it was just about bringing me to my knees. I'm so glad I have Particraft and the fb group and my other go to CE designer pages to help me through as on countdown to my next lot of nasty treatment on Friday. How I'd love to sleep Thursday and wake up Saturday ! Hohum.
Sending you big hugs and lots of thank you's for all you do xxx

Hi Sue
A beautiful card and gorgeous blues ,oh i so love the poppies .

Pam,,,,,have a lovely meal after work , you can not beat a good carvery .

The head Housing Officer was on leave yesterday however i spoke to another lady who offered to take all particulars to pass on to her so i asked her to record everything i said .
She could not understand why a Tenant had a pet anyway and especially with not being on the ground floor { she also said "she thought the rule was no pets"? } Oh well we will have to see if the head officer gave her permission or if i have been told porkies .
As for the noise level ,she said it will not be tolerated ,i am having a log book sent to fill in all further noise etc.
Andrew went to the Doctors yesterday he said the pain was from the surgery that was now healing
The upset tummy was from the Iron Tablets plus the additional Iron Foods { that are not needed now } as the tablets are very strong . So fingers crossed again that he feels better today.

Have a lovely day everyone
Big Hugs to all

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, I saw this card on you tube recently and loved it then and still do now, I will watch it again and again as I do all of them Sue, you are so inspirational and talented and you are always and I mean always there for all us crafty friends with help and assistance or even to just listen too, a true friend.

Pam I know you are going to enjoy your carvery, what a lovely treat.

Elaine, you sound like you have the neighbours from hell, but the housing officer must sort this out, when you get the history book, keep all the details, don't forget the time, date and peoples names too if necessary, and you could use your mobile camera if it is required as well. Hopefully Andrew is better today.

Tina and Mick, I hope you are feeling much better now that the iron tablets etc. are kicking in, this heat takes it out of all of us too.

Tracey, we are all here for you hugs my friend

Donna, also thinking of you for yesterday.

Yes the ladies yesterday hit the nail on the head when they said that lots of people are only out for what they can get, it is no hardship at all to visit your blog daily Sue, it is so useful and I am sure many of these people would benefit so much. I as you know, am an avid follower as are all your Wilsonettes.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Good evening Sue and the Wilsonettes,
I love your butterfly folder Sue with the tiny butterflies on it, i have two other butterfly folders which are quite similar to each other but this is a lovely one and more in keeping with the size of cards that we are making. I don't have the pansy dies as yet but that's only as yet but we will see how the funds go as i am saving up for a couple of days away again with some beautiful friends and at the moment October can't come soon enough. Your card as usual is beautiful Sue and gives our little grey cells a workout as to what we can do to change up ours from what you have designed. Thank you flower for bringing your crafty ideas our way and making a little high spot that we can look forward to.
Elaine flower, my mum and dad tried for 10 years almost to get a swap, exchange, buy a house in their very limited budget just because of the neighbours from hell and i wouldn't wish it on anyone. Please note every disturbance of anything as they need to see how it is impedeing on your life before they decide to do anything. The police were even in our house a couple of times that our through the wall neighbour was doing everything she and her family could to make our lives unbearable. She had called the police saying that her husband was dying(which was true poor soul) and he couldn't get any peace for the barking of our dog constantly. What was making the dog bark was her hammering on her poor old husbands' bedroom wall through to our bathroom to deliberately make the dog bark and show just how i poor old lady and her dying husband had such terrible neighbours. The police were in at the time she started hammering once more having not realised that they had arrived. The police had actually parked in the next small street that was adjacent to ours and came to our back door instead of the front where she would have seen them coming. That was one of the milder incidents at that woman's hands as we got our windows bricked by her, she set fire to her backgarden and blamed us, she put lit papers through our letter box to name but the very tip of a tall iceberg. I hope that your housing authorities do more for you flower, i truly do as i just wouldn't wish the neighbours from hell on anyone, sending you hugs.
Tracy, sending you some hugs to flower just to keep you going as i know just how hard your road is that you have to get along.
Hugs to all those who need, want or could do with,
love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

Hi Sue. WOW !!! Yet another beautiful card !!! I really love the techniques you have shown in today's video. The Belgian collection dies look fab Sue and I love the look you created using the inside fancy die, backing it with the sticky sheet and covering it with glitter, then using a piece of cut apperture card that you put over the top which was embossed with your beautiful butterflies folder. These techniques combined together really produced such stunning results !!! I also love what you did with the main inside topper die cut with the Iris card. This is a really beautiful card Sue. I think the flowers you have made using your Poppies dies are amazing Sue !!! A fab idea to use a pen to highlight the petals of the flowers, really making the flower stand out, and tying the whole card together with blue ink used on the edges of the petals. I never think to add a black pearl to the centres of the flowers !!! It really gives them such a different look instead of using white ones. I have the Poppies dies and I love them. I will definately use black pearls with them now !!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful card today. Sending you lots of love Sue from Tres x x x

Evening Sue
Well what a lovely surprise - it's Tuesday and we have a video. How spoilt are we? 3 a week again. Have not had the chance to watch the video yet but will do soon x
Love this card. The poppies are so gorgeously versatile. One of my favourite colours and all in all a gorgeous combination of everything lovely. Thanks Sue x
Well didn't get those cards made - that's the bad news!! The good news is that I did not traumatize myself by ripping into the elegance paper pad. Lol x
This evening I popped round to have a cuppa with the friend who is housing George at the moment since he 'left home'! Just at a loss as to how to get these pesky kids sorted. I think I should get a one bedroom flat and leave them to it. How easy life would be with no one else but me to worry about x
Consequently I had to inform Laine that I would not be able to accommodate her usual Tuesday evening moaning!! We spoke late afternoon but I managed to make my excuses and only had to tolerate her for about 15 minutes. Unfortunately I will have to speak to her again Thursday evening as she realised I am free and I could not make up an excuse quick enough!! Lol x
She is very demanding and already started to inform me of her expectations and needs that she will require during her stay in September. An endless supply of cheesecake and Sainsbury's fruit iced lollies are just a couple of 'requirements' which have been mentioned. Delusions of grandeur can make people insufferable. Lol x
OK it's late and I am heading for bed.
Elaine and Tina - sending hugs your way x
Tracy - lots of love x
Love and hugs to P, Lorraine, Wheely, Maria (and Laine I suppose)!
Of course love and hugs to everyone and if I have forgotten any of my 'banter buddies' I am sorry - not intentional x
Take care
Sending love and happy thoughts
