Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi bloggers!  A pretty aqua and white card for the giveaway on the blog this week!  I started with a piece of coconut white card and cut the decorative die from the Jubilee Striplet horizontally in to the lower portion of the card.  I cut the striplet down the centre and added mounting foam to the backs of both pieces.  I added them over a piece of aqua card that I had placed a strip of sticky adhesive paper on to in the area where the two pieces were split.  I peeled the backing paper off and added Iced Snow so it was a bit blingy in the channel area.  For the Focal element, I used the Double Pierced Noble Ovals and created a multi layered frame out of white card.  I used the inside die from the Stitched Lattice Frames and cut it in aqua card and seated my frame over it, trimming away the excess from around the edge of the frame.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the Pierced Flags die.  I created a single poppy and inked the edges with aqua ink, then seated it at the end of my sentiment on a bow of thin white satin ribbon and accented with Olive branches.  I added flatback pearls as accents to the dies and corners of the card, then finished with my usual mats and layers.  Leave a comment if you would like a chance to win this one!  All for now, Sue x

Stunning card Sue, so lovely.
Thank you everyone for your kind words, the funeral was well attended and he had a good send off, he was a lovely man. I met an old school friend of us both that I hadn't seen for 55 years. The most poignant thing was his youngest daughter was there and her baby is due tomorrow, so sad that he will never see his grandchild.
Elaine, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Andrew.
Hugs to Tracey, Tina and Mick and all.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, wow what a gorgeous card today, I am loving this one, it is my favourite colours and a little bit blingy, just up my street, as us cockneys say, I am definitely going to be trying this one out.

Pam I did think of you yesterday, these things are never nice but it was good that you met up with your old school friend, and yes it is a shame that he will not see his grandchild but I am a strong believer that he will be up there with a grin as wide as can be and as proud as punch when the baby does arrive.

My thoughts are also with Elaine, Andrews, Tina, Mick and Tracey as this special time.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Good morning Sue,
I was just "re-watching" the shows you recently did on Hochanda and then saw this card. It took my breath away! I love everything about it, from the aqua color to the the way you cut the striplet and used the iced snow. Just stunning!
I have only recently received your poppy die and have been using it on almost everything (I think I'm in love with it!). Especially like using it on parchment, stamping it and then heat embossing it.
Thank you for such beautiful dies and inspiration.

All gorgeous, Sue, a wonderful card for the giveaway. Don't know for how much longer can resist the pull of the poppy dies! They look so different each time you use them.
Pam, pleased that your cousin had 'a good send off' and that you met a long-lost pal, but such a shame for his daughter and indeed for him that he won't get to meet the new baby. The random unfairness of life.
Hugs to all.

Hi Sue
Wow just love this card this colour is amazing even though I have a mountain of card stock I just might have to get some of this aqua one, I have yet to buy the rest of the Nobel dies only got square sets but after the rest so not sure if it will be circles or ovals then the rectangles.
Sorry for not being around but with carers 4 times a day, physio, OT's numerous people calling for different reasons my days just disappear, Mick been doing OK had a couple of bad days with his pain but Dr upt his oramorph which has helped, had call from consultant yesterday to say last PET scan not showing cancer yet which is good but not for us as we need to find the cancer so we can treat it so the autonomic neuropathy can be stopped and hopefully reversed it is heartbreaking watching his body in so much pain and he hates being dependant on others to do everything for him, he would dearly love his hands to work so he could feed himself and hold a pen, I've had to get a general power of attorney just to sort out things as a lot are just in his name and due to data protection would not speak to me so sending off copies then they can add my name to their records, had so many headaches from the constant battle.
Pam thank you for all your kind words my sympathies to you and your family on your loss, my daughter took baby Ashton to visit the cemetery to see my Dad, he will know and be with his grandchild. Tracy my heart broke when I read you had lost your dear dad as it took me back to loosing mine 5 years ago there's not a day I don't think of him or talk about him.
To everyone that has sent wishes and comments I send huge thanks they mean so much to me I have been trying to read them when my phone plays nice so forgive me for not remembering all your names but you all have a special place in my heart that I have special friends and I will try and keep up daily
Happy crafting

Good morning Sue and the Wilsonettes,
This is a bonnie card Sue with the beautiful aqua coloured card as the accents, it is one of my favourite combinations(note to self, need to vary more, lol). As per usual Sue i don't have any off these dies but i will hopefully at some point as they make up in to a lovely card. The poppy tinged with that aqua on it's edges looks so lovely and just picks up that hint that is needed. Thank you flower for a beauty to brighten up and keep the strange phenomena that has appeared in the sky, i think some call it the sun but we rarely see it, lol. Have a lovely day flower what ever you might be doing.
PAm flower, i hope that you get to remember all those carefree days that you had with your "big" cousin as sometimes they help get through the most awfulness of times. Isn't it great that even after 55years you still recognise old friends, it just shows how little you must have changed in all those years. I feel so sorry for his daughter that she should lose her beloved dad days before her baby is due, as she didn't need this trauma at this time of her pregnancy. Sending hugs down to you flower just to keep you going.
Tina, poor Mick in so much pain that i can only imagine and to be wanting to do the simplest of things and not being able to. I hope that the oramorph helps all though i hope that they can find his cancer and treat it, it's the not knowing that is the hardest. Mum got a power of attorney for me to use after we seen how dad went and she didn't want me to go through the same upheaval and upset for a second time. The only time that i used it was to sort her banking out as she could no longer get out and about and only worked in cash. The lassies at the bank knew her and knew me so it did breakdown an awful lot of hassle for us as the PoA needs to go away to head office and be checked against the register held for them. Why they can't accept it along with my driving licence and passport that also had her name and address in it as contact lord only knows. The PoA even has the solictors head paper and things but some places accept it right off and others still make it a runaround. Hope that you get things sorted soon for Mick flower, sending hugs down to you both.
Poor Andrew seems to be going right through the mill the now Elaine, did the antibiotics clear up his infection? Fluid gathering is not good as it makes for really sore just trying to breathe, but i'm glad that it is all gone for the moment. I have my fingers crossed for tomorrow flower and hope that his consultant gives you both the news you have been waiting for. Time seems to go so slowly when you are in pain or waiting for the go ahead of something like an op or Andrews chemo. Sending hugs down to you both flower just to keep you both going, i hope that it is good news.
Tracy flower i am sending you hugs flower, keep going flower you have done so well and i know just how hard it has been on you. I hope that you and your sister have someone good around you that can give you that much needed hug just to say it's alright, you're going to be fine. This time is the longest but it will soon be over and your Dad will be at rest. My prayers, hugs and thoughts are with you at this horrible time, take care.

Glenharon said...

well we have the alien thing called the sun up in our sky today(makes a change) and all is peaceful that you wouldn't honestly think that the children were off the school on holidays, it is that quiet. I have raided all the rooms on Monday and stripped all the beds much to their inhabitants disgust as they were just getting comfy. Why do boys/men have to be so gross and make out like ww3 because you want them and their rooms clean and aired? Anyway linen all washed, dried and ironed and upstairs again to be put away. I haven't stopped the whole weekend and Monday so yesterday was a sleepy day and sore day. Today i can sit and relax without anything or anyone shouting at me about doing something. I hope that you all have a lovely day wherever you are, with hugs to all,
love and crafty hugs

Today's card is just so gorgeous. The aqua is so bright and the iced snow is scrummy added to it. Whoever wins it will be extremely lucky.
I have finally done my mammoth catch up and first off I need to say Tracy I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. My heart goes out to you and your sister. I am thankful you were able to say your goodbyes as you can take comfort in that.
I wish we had realised when it was my Dad's last day instead of the nurses saying the Dr's thought he was improving.
Massive huggles hun xxx.
Last Wednesday's card was so pretty with Sue's usual brilliant colouring. I must add some stamps to die for to my collection.
Stephen, I hope you are feeling much better now.
Maria, thank you for thinking of me. Over the weekend whilst I was away with my daughter I did not give my worries a thought. Now I am home I feel so flat as though I have a great weight on me. I will be glad when it's all sorted.
Wheely, oh hun you are really overdue a good spell and yet you put on such a good face. Hugs xxx
June, I hope your holiday was good.
Thursday's card, my fave colour combo and delicate colouring resulting in another winner.
To Lynda B, Annie and P in Wales sorry to hear of all your pet's worries, hugs for you all.
Bejay, I hope you are feeling better now. Sore throats are miserable.
Norah, you are right to be proud of Rory. He is a credit to you. I also agree with you on the motorbike. I watch too many real life hospital programs to feel easy about anyone riding them.
Dawn Holben, hugs for your troubles I hope they ease soon.
Friday's card was beautiful with all it's layers and the pretty flowers. The ef is gorgeous and now added to my wish list.
Bejay, I hope you have managed to sort the new phone. It's so frustrating when technology foxes us.
Laine, I hope your upcoming visit to your Dad's grave gives you the closure you need.
Saturday was a beautiful clean and simple card. Love it. I must try the technique as I have lots of alcohol inks.
Annie P, go steady we don't want you to have cellulitis.
Elaine, I hope Andrew is soon over his hiccup and can get on with the next stage of his treatment.

Hi Sue what a fabulous card, I don't think I could give this card away, or if I did it would have to be to someone very special.

Part 2
Sunday, stunning card today and congratulations to the winners of the comment game.
Maria, how do we find the "Cotswold crafters" ?
Yvonne, I am not into tennis but the company of good friends and good food is a winning combination.
Monday, I love this style of card. The gentle arc with the lace is so pretty.
Bejay, have fun getting your craft room sorted.
Tuesday, love the heated pearl technique. My cosmic shimmer glue comes out as a string not a pearl.
Pam, hugs for the loss of your cousin.
Wheely, sorry Mr W did not get the job, I hope something good turns up soon.
Today's card is just so gorgeous. The aqua is so bright and the iced snow is scrummy added to it. Whoever wins it will be extremely lucky.
Nan a Tina, good to hear from you. Sorry the doctors have not tracked down the root cause of Mick's ill health yet. I hope that happens soon so he can heal.
Well as I said we went to Bristol for the Pride event. My daughter pushed me around in the parade and she was happy to have taken part. Once we had got into the festival and grabbed some food she found the crowds too much. Later we spoke about it and if she had someone with her who was very outgoing she could have coped and joined in more. The wheelchair is a bit unwieldy and I don't feel very exuberant whilst in it plus it's tiring so it's a shame I needed it. I loved spending the time with her and wish I could have helped her make the most of it.
Then it's back home to real life. Thought I had an appointment today but it's tomorrow so glad it wasn't the other way round.
Sending love to all my blog buddies xxx

Hi Sue
Please gimme gimme gimme. I am more than happy to win this sparkelicious creation of gorgeousness! Thinking what a phenomenal Christmas card it would make with snowflakes instead of the poppies.
At first glance I thought that you had used a piece of sparkly ribbon - should have guessed it would be iced snow - what else??!! Thanks for sharing Suex
Trip to the pictures highly enjoyable - a jovial time had by all. As usual, bit of a silly storyline but the observations of the different pets personalities was ingenious. I managed to consume a large carton of popcorn rather quickly. When I got home I discovered that I had an excessive amount of the sugary snack in my bra and consequently all over my bedroom floor! I know - terrible - how could I miss my mouth? Lol x
Had a lovely surprise waiting for me in the porch today when I went to put some recycling outside. An early birthday pressie and knowing who it was from it was a sure bet that it would be a Sue die. Well I was wrong - it was 2 SUE DIES!!!!
I am now the proud owner of the Christmas Shadow Box and the simply stunning Ray of Light die. I can't tell you the overwhelming sense of joy that I felt which left my body in the form of a shriek x
I have been asked to make a couple of Christening cards and I have an idea of what I will do using my new Ray of light die. I am hoping to play tomorrow x
Laine - I'm a little concerned. You think I can accomplish doubling your body weight by force feeding you cheesecake? That is quite a challenge. I have only invited you to stay - not to move in!! Lol. Have you found that mojo yet? I am sure it is there somewhere x
Maria - not sure if it will be Saturday or Sunday for A.P. Can't decide that until nearer the time. I will probably bring with me some form of pleasure in the guise of perfectly innocent homemade something!!! x
Pam - I was thinking of you yesterday. I am glad that your cousin had a good send off. So sad that he will not meet his new grandchild. How lovely to see your school friend. Sending you and your family love and hugs x
Tina - I bet you don't know if you are coming or going at the moment. I know that at times like this we go into automatic pilot but please look after yourself. Love and hugs x
Elaine - I hope Andrew and his wife managed to get out for their car ride - hopefully a morale boost. Love and hugs to you all x
Norah - know what you mean about WW3!! You should see Jake's room, or maybe not! You would need all your vaccinations up to date before entering. Lol x
Lorraine - lovely to have you back. Sounds like you had a fabulous weekend. I hope that everything is sorted for you very soon. Huggles x
Tracy - you are in my thoughts hun. Your will come through this my love. These dark days will become brighter. You take care. Sending you and your family love and hugs x
Wheely - hope you are ok - lots of love x
I can feel a cake bake coming on. A cappuccino cake I think. Easy but rather deliciously moist coffee cake drizzled with white chocolate. This always tastes better the next day so that's my breakfast sorted. Lol x
Sending hugs to absent friends.
We only have 3 more sleeps until we can absorb Sue's genius and magical power!!!
Take care
Love and happy thoughts
Crafty hugs
Yvonne

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Ooooh what a gorgeous card, I am already so jealous of the very lucky winner of this delightful concoction......I have been fortunate enough to have benefitted from your insane generosity a few times so it would be totally inappropriate for me to expect to be in the running, besides, whilst we both know I'm your favourite it would only stoke up a whole heap of trouble if I were to win....maybe you could make me another one and send it privately?....I'm not kidding......:-)
What's not to love about this little piece of heaven? The colours are soft, pastel scrumptiousness and really suits the gentle, feminine feel of the design. I am the lucky owner of the lattice background which is a beautiful die but I will have to splash out on the ovals....a real must have....and the jubilee striplet if I want to recreate this design. I love how you've created a channel by cutting the striplet and backing it with a bit of bling, and the poppies, delicately inked in sky blue, are stunning....there are so many ways that you can create a flower with these dies, they are so versatile. Good luck fellow Wilsonettes, whoever wins this stunner will be in seventh heaven.
Had good intentions to craft today but I just couldn't motivate myself, I've really lost my mojo since my Dad died and I'm finding it difficult to get enthused about anything. I get excited about watching Sues shows and buying her dies but I'm ashamed to say that they are just unused and unloved at the minute. Perhaps it would be an idea just to spend some time cutting embellishments and not pressurising myself to create something as such, just to get me back into the routine....any ideas on how to overcome crafters block?
Pam, how lovely to have recognised your friend after 55yrs, how amazing! I like to think that your cousin will be there in spirit when his grandchild arrives but it will be a difficult moment for his daughter, sending hugs to you allxxx
Lorraine, glad you enjoyed your raunchy weekend away:-) Using a wheelchair isn't ideal....take it from me , I know.....but if it allows you to enjoy the day in less pain and discomfort then it's worth it. You can become invisible to the able bodied though which is annoying, I much prefer a scooter because you can make yourself noticed by running up the back of any ignoramus's legs:-)
Yvonne, cartoons are just about your level my dear:-) Can't believe you got half your popcorn down your bra without noticing, I know you said you had an ample bosom but I didn't realise just how buxom you must be.....if I got even a piece stuck down my bra, I would automatically assume that I had developed a third breast:-) my mojo is still AWOL but maybe you can help me locate it again when I visit, it's always better crafting with a friend or an Yvonne than crafting alone:-) Oh, and should I get vaccinated before coming to stay?
Tina, try to find some me time otherwise you're in danger of burning out. Emotionally it must be draining for both you and Mick as you search for some definitive answers to his medical woes, I hope that they locate the source soon but at least Micks pain is being managed better. How's his appetite and weight?
Elaine, hope Andrew enjoyed his drive and the fresh air, it can really boost you after being cooped up in a hospital bed.
Maria, do you think that you are ready to meet up with me and Yvonne at Ally Pally? I promise I don't bite and I'll put a muzzle on Yvonne:-)
Cuddles to P, pat, Rebecca, Jan, Beth, Wheely bad, Theresa, Linda, Frances, Alison , Tracy and anyone else in need of a warm hugxxxx
