Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi bloggers!  Today's giveaway card is a simple but very pretty card I think.  You were probably expecting one of the demos cards from the shows, but actually this was supposed to have been demoed, there just wasn't enough time!  I started by selecting a piece of decorative paper from my Classic Elegance Paper pad as my background.  I cut another piece of it but this time used just the reverse side design and cut three columns of the pattern for my border.  I cut the Belgian border die in white and added it beneath the border and a thin white layer edge to the top of the border.  I added it with mounting foam for a bit of dimension.  Next I stamped the Sunny Nasturtium stamp in black on white card.  I coloured it with Distress markers (Shaded Lilac, Forest Moss, Crushed Olive, Worn Lisptick)  I decided to use my scissors to cut the inside  out around the flowers.  I added mounting foam to the back to raise it.  I stamped a sentiment and attached the stamped frame over it then mounted in the top portion of the card.  I created a white Poppy as an accents and sugared it with Iced Snow.  I seated the flower on several Lace Edged leaves.  The card was completed with a white on white mat layer with piercing.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  7 1/2" in size.  Leave a comment to be entered into the drawing to win this card.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

Such a beautiful card, love it.
Elaine, it's a good sign if Andrew is asking for certain foods, hope he enjoyed his fish.
Steph, hope all went well with the angiogram, you will feel better able to cope when you know what's causing it. Andy is a gem as always
Tracey, it's a very hard time for you honey, your dad has made his choice and that's best for him but it's hard for you. Be brave and enjoy your time with him, building precious memories.
Tina hope Mick is well.

Good morning Sue
Gorgeous card with lovely papers! My first love of paper crafting was decoupage I loved the cutting out and very often I still hand cut stamped flowers, I find it very relaxing. Of course it's so much easier now we have dies to do the job but now and again I do it by hand especially with older stamps I have.

Hi Sue,
First of all, apologies for completely missing yesterday's blog! WHen I popped back to look at it I couldn't help smiling as the shadow box die is wonderful and using white card for it with really colourful inserts really brings it to life.

Today's card is wonderful! I do love your stamps to die for but have to hang my head in shame and admit that I've only got one of them so far. Now that I'm 'officially' retired I seem to have more cash available, so after getting much needed household things (new carpet is next on the list) I think I can atrat saving up for new goodies for my stash. Of course, I'm also saving up for a new TV. I really didn't think I needed one...until my sister came down for a visit and we went to Currys...we were meant to be looking at tablets (another thing on my wish list) as she said it was better to see them 'live' and not just chose online. While we were there she wanted to look at the TVs as she wants a smart TV. Well...as we went to the display there was one showing a nature video. The colour blew me away and it almost looked 3D. They had the largest one on show but I need the next one down. My wish is to be able to get it in time for Christmas :).

Tracy: I wish I could get to you in person and give you a huge hug! I guess I was lucky in a way as although I lost both of my folks almost 6 months to the day apart (mum passed on the night of Mother's Day)they were both quick, and unexpected. Dad was in hospital and they kept telling me he was coming home as soon as the doctor had seen him. He had a massive heart attack and they couldn't bring him back. Mum was very unexpected. She was in a care home for two weeks to give me some respite and when she passed I was 10,000 miles away in Sydney! I still feel guilty almost 7 years later. I think my losses brought me to crafting and I've 'met' some really wonderful people online. Be sure that we will all be with you for as long as you need us to be {{{hugs}}}
Bejay xx

Hi Sue, a gorgeous card for today's giveaway. The stamp and colouring are beautiful and I love the white poppy. I have so far only used one sheet from your paper pad, I prefer to just look at it :-)

Tracy – I can only say how sorry I am for you. It’s no good us saying we have been there because your pain is yours alone and only you can find your way through it. I hope that the hospital can keep your dad comfortable and pain free, it is his choice after all. My prayers are that you, your dad and your family find the strength to cope with what lies ahead. (((Hugs)))

Pat L, big hugs for you and Sarah, Thank you for thinking of me xxx

Laine, P, Maria and Lorraine F, thank you all for thinking of me this week, big hugs xxx

Sorry if I missed anyone... not reading too easy today. I've been AWOL on my back and in dark glasses on and off (like now). I think because I've had to lay up I've not drunk enough so got a wee bit dehydrated, add to that trying to keep amused and so reading, crochet etc and migraine inevitable. Squinting, meds, in dark glasses, low light to visit because I missed you all and felt drawn here tonight. Billy has loved me being laid up and happy to share the bed during the day. I had a haircut today and have only a bit more hair than Mr. It does set head off, vibrations and movement etc but was necessary as I looked a mess and was getting a bit too hot. Much more comfortable now and a lot easier to keep clean so all good. End of the road for Wales in the football but wow, they've been incredible over the tournament. They did their country and the UK proud.

Well, that's me for now. Time to have medicine, get Billy sorted and go to bed. Got nurse tomorrow, Mr. got interview in the morning so he's taking me in the afternoon and we'll try get a pre book appointment for a time he can take me to see a doctor.

Big hugs to Wilsonettes everywhere. Got lots of extra hugs for anyone that needs one. I'll see you all soon as I can,

Hi Sue. WOW !!! This is such a gorgeous card today !!! I love the main flower stamp you have used. It is beautiful. The way you have coloured it and the colours you have used are fab Sue, it really "pops". I can see you have used your beautiful paper pad to. I think your paper pad is so beautiful Sue, it is on my huge long wish list. I love your Belgian border die at the bottom of the card. I did not realise before just how pretty it is. The exquisite Poppies you have used add the perfect finishing touch to this gorgeous card. Thank you for sharing your beautiful card today. Sending lots of love to you Sue from Tres x x x

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, yes I am playing catch up, just got back from our holidays and had to come onto the blog and read everything.

A beautiful card with such wonderful papers, your amazing.

Elaine, I hope Andrew enjoyed the fish

Steph, hope all went well with the angiogram, once you know the results you will be able to get on with your life.

Tina hope you and Mick are well.

Tracey, your sister and of course your Dad, it's a very hard time for you, but you have to respect your Dad's wishes, be there with him as much as you can and as Pam says, be brave and build precious memories - special hugs,
