Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi crafters!  Today's card giveaway was meant to be a demo from the past set of shows, but again, never quite was able to get to it!  I thought it was a pretty card though and shows off the Ornamental Accents quite nicely!  I started with a piece of sky blue card and used the Pictor Tri- Gemini die to cut a decorative edge on bother edges.  I used just one of the decorative dies in the set and the matching cutting edge.  I then used the Double Pieced Noble Ovals to cut a large oval aperture in the centre.  I added mounting foam to the back of the piece and embossed a piece of white card with the Jacobean Floral folder and seated it behind the aperture opening.  I added that piece to a slightly larger piece of white card so the edges were just showing from underneath the  top piece and I split a row of double pearls and added one to each side.  I cut five of the Ornamental Accents in white and arranged them in a fan shape and added them to the inside of the aperture.  I cut a sky blue poppy with sticky adhesive paper on to create a sugared flower with Iced Snow and I seated it on a satin ribbon bow at the bottom of the fan with some Olive Branches as accents.  The aperture was completed with a thin white frame that I cut from the next size up in the Double Pierced Noble Ovals and I raised it with some foam for dimension.  I stamped my sentiment then cut it with my paper cutter into a tag shape.  I inked the edges lightly with Stormy Sky and tucked the end under my flower.  The card was completed with a white, blue, white may combo and my usual piercing.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x  8 3/4" in size.  Leave a comment to be entered into the drawing to win this one!  All for now, Sue x

.

Lovely card Sue, it's beautiful.
Tina, sorry Mick is not well with the heat, I can understand how uncomfortable he will be, so difficult to get his balance right with temperature.
Elaine, such good news about Andrew, he is such a fighter. How did you sleep last night.
Lynda, so sorry about little Annie, but you were the best mum to her always.
It's going to be another hit one today, do as Norah says and use sun cream.
Tracey, big hugs as always and our missing friends

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, such a lovely card today, love the fan effect you have created too.

This heat is really getting to me and so many other people, can't sleep, can't craft, with fan's going all day everything is weighted down or it will blow all over the place and I am not even going down the gilding flakes route haha!!

My thoughts and hugs go to everyone who has any issues or problems, especially Tina and Mick, Andrew and Elaine, and Tracey and all our missing friends

Morning Sue. What a dreadful sticky night, yuk.
What a pretty little card for your giveaway today. I suppose if you did the umbro technique (apologies if spelling incorrect) but if you shaded your card in various shades of blues and greens then cut the ornamental corners it could also have that peacock tail effect, or is that a dumb idea ? Lol. I've been a little less interested in card making these past few months so I've not been near my sweet little craft shop which means die adoption has come to a halt, I've just this week been asked for a wedding card, which I've done but not found any enjoyment out of doing it (at least it's not been reflected in my work) ! I think it's the worry of the outcome of what is looming this Friday in the way of treatment that is weighing me down to the extent it's taking over all my thoughts at the moment, but I have to take what is avoidable and try and get on with it and work towards the future. With all the sadness and grief and emptiness my dear friend Tina and her dear sweet daughter is living through I have no right what so ever to moan or complain, so my love and thoughts wrap themselves round you Tina and Claire.
My usual hugs and thanks go to you also Sue for giving the opportunity to own and care for one of your 'babies' and I wish you a pleasant happy day xxx

Morning Sue,
What a beautiful card for us today and what a shame you never got the chance to demo it on your recent shows.

Goodness, what a difference a day makes...yesterday at one stage the thermometer in the garden hit 39c in the sun - I was in the shade with a chilly 28c lol. This morning however, it's dull and overcast and really quite windy. My blueberry plants were blown over in their tubs during the night so I hope the berries are still on the bush and not on the ground. Although the windy is quite chilly, in the rare moments it dies down it's still quite muggy...how on earth does that happen? I'm actually hoping for one of those raging thunderstorms other parts of the country are going to get. At least then the air should clear and we can have some dry heat instead of all this humid air.
Hugs to everyone in need of them today.
Bejay xx

Hi Sue, a really pretty card and I love the way you have created the fan effect. The poppy does steal the show though, it is beautiful.

Bejay - you are welcome to my thunderstorm! After yesterday's uncomfortable heat I watered the garden last night (mostly the vegetables) but I should have known better because today I awoke to pouring rain, thunder and lightning that has now been going on for several hours. It is so dark we need the lights on everywhere and it doesn't look as though it wants to let up at all.

Hope everyone enjoys their day whatever the weather.

Good morning Sue and the wilsonettes,
This is a bonnie card Sue that when first looked at i saw a peacock, don't ask it's that fertile imagination that i have that goes wild at times. It is in bonnie colours being the sky blue and white and i can see that your new go to flower is the poppy. Thank you flower for a bonnie give away that anyone would surely love looking down at them from their new home. Sorry this is a quickie today as we have thunder and lightening and Rory and i are terrified, Tia is petrified and panting like mad so i will wish everyone a better day than here at Glenochil and hugs to all my dear Wilsonette friends that could do with them,

A very quick comment to say that this card is absolutely gorgeous. The ornamental accents are stunning and I think I have just got to treat myself. Thanks Sue x
Not been on here for a couple of days. Really struggling with this heat. I don't mean to moan but it was unbearably hot yesterday and I am not enjoying it.
Had a brilliant night out last night. Went to the theatre to see Kinky Boots - an organised trip there and back on an air conditioned coach thank goodness. Fabulous show with brilliant music written by Cyndi Lauper and a fantastically feel good performance and the best thing I've seen in ages. Needless to say I am feeling the after effects today and it is still too hot x
So I will catch up on comments another day if that's ok and say goodnight as I am going to try and have an early night x
Take care everyone.

Such a pretty card. Love the colour and the being. Glad I'm not the only one seeing a peacock in the centre.
Take care everyone.

Sorry, that should have been bling, not being. So pleased to have a connection for a few minutes that I forgot to check the spelling.

Hello Sue and all

So late but just had to comment on this one, it is beautiful. I have the Ornamental accents, and just like all of your configurations they are fabulous. The blue poppy sugared with iced snow is a great accent.
