Another Year

Good Sunday morning all!  Today's card is a really simple one that I thought would be a nice make for a man in more suitable colours.  Don't you think?  I started with a piece of sky blue card and cut the decorative die from the Bruges set in the very centre of it.  I backed it with milk card then added the inside cutting die to cut an aperture out of both pieces.  I added mounting foam to it to raise it.  I stamped my sentiment on milk card and centred it in the aperture and attached it.  I cut four of the Belgian borders in milk card using the decorative die and the outer cutting edge.  Two were backed in milk card and the other two were backed in sky blue card.  I placed one of each colour together with the straight edges touching and added them to both sides of the card.  I cut a length of cream double pearls strips down the centre and ran then down the middles of both border sections.  I completed the card with a milk mat that was paper pierced, a thin sky blue mat and another milk mat.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 3/4" in size.

The winners of this week's Comment Game are:

Clare Powell!!!
Barbara V!!!
Jess Watson!!!

Congratulations!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize.  All for now, Sue x

Gorgeous card Sue, perfect for male cards
Congratulations to comment game winners.
Tracey, there is no manual on how to deal with grief, we get through as best we can. You have come through the hardest parts, now your mind and body need time to heal and only you can decide the time for that. It must be comforting to know your dad was loved by so many people, his customers will miss him too.
Elaine, I'm so glad that Andrew had a good time, he is doing so much better now, thank heavens.
Tina, Mick must feel so much more comfortable after his beauty treatments and his little food treats, it would be so much better if the weather around your house cooled for him.
Hugs to all especially missing friends

This is certainly worth Sunday smiles Sue, its so fresh looking, in fact its so delicate in this colour combo my craftless mound of grey sludge wont allow me to see it in any form of masculine mix n match colours, maybe later when I've had a few more looks ! I think I can see maybe a couple of tweaks to make it less feminine like the pearls and back the side borders to match so it looks more 💪 than 🌹 but then what do I know ?!! I just play with fingers crossed and hope it ends up worth keeping rather than starting a fresh. But I know I will see something similar to your sample which will make me see this sweet little card turn into something more 'butch' lol.
I shall send my congrats to the 3 winners today and hope you enjoy your gift.
Have a lovely day Sue whatever your plans are xxx

Good morning Sue and the Wilsonettes,
This is a beautiful card Sue and in such a gorgeous shade of blue. I love the foundations card in these soft colours along with the pale blush and the soft mint. What a gorgeous card to give to someone special that could really do with a better year ahead than the year they maybe have had. Thank you Sue for a beautiful piece of art work inspiration and for picking a beautiful person in my life to win one of this weeks comment quests.
Jess, my beautiful friend i am so very very pleased to see your name up there this morning, well done my lovely friend and enjoy when your prize arrives.
Well done also to the other two ladies that won this week as well, it always gives a lift to see peoples names up as winners.
Well my hills are finally showing but only just as the clouds enjoy a relaxing time lying about on top of them and are taking their own sweet time at moving themselves across the sky. Well after my marathon yesterday of everything that i did in the house i am going to sit today and recover. Poor O.H. worked hard at cutting our postage stamp size grass with the electric lawnmower yesterday as he had been working all week, huh! His sum and substance to his work in the house this weekend started and ended with the grass that is about 18ftx18ft while i did the dishes, the kitchen, the washings, the hangings and bringing in, the hoovering and the bathrooms so i am going to have a very lazy day as my body is pleading with me no more please. I hope that wherever you are, you are having a lovely day with hugs going to Tracy & her family,Tina, Claire & family, Elaine & Andrew, Wheely & Mr W.(i hope somethinig comes along soon for Mr.W), and all my lovely Wilsonettes that need, want or could do with hugs, they are yours

Wheely, sorry you are having such a rotten time but at least your Dr was nice and good to look at xxx
Tina, glad to hear Mick is a bit brighter, those catheters can be really problematic at times.
Well I had an afternoon out yesterday, first we went to Evesham and had a look around and a spot of lunch. There is a very nice craft shop there but I was good and only spent a£1. Then we wanted to go on a boat trip but couldn't find where it was so instead we went to Worcester. I knew where to find the boat as we went there for my Mum and Dad's Diamond Anniversary. Which was three years ago this week. It brought back good memories but of course they are bittersweet when you only have the memories. By this time though I was shattered. My friend invited us round for a barbecue but I just couldn't. We came home, I had a bite to eat and then slept the rest of the evening.
Today I had to completely clean the fridge out as I had missed a bit of the escaping cream which caused a bit of a long. Then I scrubbed the bathroom. I hurt my side at some point and as it's the side I lie on it's not the best. Still not got to my craft table.
Special hugs to my blog buddies and of course Sue xxx
Wishing good things to all xxx
