Moonlit Berries Letterpressed

Hello all!  I had a request to post this card so here it is!  This was the first demo from my last C & C shows.  I started with the background and on the positive side, I inked the Couture Creations embossing folder called Moonlit Berries with a clear Perfect Medium pad.  I placed a piece of milk card in the folder and ran it through the Grand Calibur to transfer the ink to the card.  I dusted the background with Gold Sparkle mica powder for a light shimmer.  Using the soft gold card for the border, I inked up the opposite side of the embossing folder and letter pressed it.  I dusted it with Gold Sparkle mica powder as well.  I used a sanding block and lightly sanded the design to distress the pattern.  I matted the border with a milk card and soft gold card mat and taped it to the side of the card.  Using chalk seam binding, I wrapped a piece around the card and taped the ends to the back.  I tied a messy bow and added it to the bottom of the border.  I folded several pieces of gold tulle and in order to die cut it, you need to tape them to a piece of card.  Using the Classic Rose die, I cut several of these to create a full tulle flower.  I put  a brad through the centre of each of the pieces and offset the scallops.  I heated the tulle quickly so the edges just barely melted to create a more ruffly flower.  I seated the flower on my bow and added two fancy stick pins that I made to match.  Using the Labels Seven Merry Wishes Stamp, I stamped it on soft gold card and heat embossed it with gold detail powder for a tonal look.  I cut it out with the matching die.  I stamped the Snowflake Labels Seven stamp on to milk card using a perfect Medium pad.  I heat embossed it with gold powder and then stamped the sentiment and embossed it too.  I cut it out with the matching die and mounted it atop the first die cut and then in the centre of the card.  I added a double milk mat with a thin gold mat and a pierced inner layer.  Finished dimensions are 6" x 8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Beautiful card Sue. Sorry I haven't been well enough to post. Thank you everyone for your good wishes, my foot is really sore and I have limited mobility as I cannot put any weight on it for 6 weeks. I shouldn't complain as I know a lot of my blog friends have more severe problems. Glad the wedding went so perfectly Steph. Love to you all. Ps. Still a waiting game with Robbie but he is out of ICU. Thank you everyone.

Morning Sue. Morning lovely Wilsonettes hope you all slept well, if not and you can, take some nap time later. Before I forget again ! Many congratulations Cam on your future grand prince or princess, what a wonderful year to come, and a lovely celebration to look forward to next month : ) xxx
pam my love, sounds like extra big but extra gentle hugs are needed so take all you need. So glad Robbie is out of ICU may each day bring a little more strength to all the family.

Sue, I must say that after watching your last lot of weekend show's the new 'winter' background stamps and folders are the prettiest Ive seen for this season, the ribbon holly, stars etc are most definatly going to be saved for, and this folder is top of my list. Ive not tried the letterpress technique and need to find the confidence to try as its a beautiful background. I loved watching you put this together, and will watch over and over again as Im determind to improve and try different techniques - as my cards are getting same old and boring !
Time for a change - somehow !!
Well, Ive said my bit for today apart from, to our Wonderful Wilsonettes that dont feel so wonderful today, I hope you start to pick up as the day goes on. Thinking of all our special friends today.
Have a good day Sue.
Love to all.

Good Morning Sue & Friends,
A very elegant C. Card today, the sort that would be sent to someone special, the letterpress technique transforms a plain piece of paper into an expensive looking backing paper, I am going to give that a go!
Well I am writing this from my bed, waiting for my pain meds to kick in, I had a lovely surprise though as Paul (my wonderful husband) had booked two days leave as he knew how I would be feeling, he said he couldn't walk out of the door knowing I was laying here in pain! It was worth it though to be there for my mums birthday on Saturday and then to be shouting from the side lines for the girls yesterday, the things we do for love! I am driven to get up and going today though as I have received my sets A&B of Sue's California collection and I am desperate to play with them!
Norah, well what a day you had, we have to let them try DIY but it does end up costing more in the end as you have pay somebody to put things right, at lead the had a go! But how thin your patience must have been!
Cameeli, can you fit me in your luggage? I hope you enjoyed 'chef', maybe catch up later! X
Pam, I hope your pain is easing today, remember take it easy, So glad Robbie is out of ICU, a good sign, a long road ahead, but it seems he is off in the right direction! Xx
Pat S Witney, that would be lovely, we are often in witney!
Special hugs to Lynda,Brenda, Mrs B, Steph, Julie, Myra,Hazel, Margaret, everyone that needs a big hug!

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
What a lovely Christmas card Sue, i love the holly embossing folder that you have used. The mica powder is so soft but gives a glow to the card. I think i can get into the Christmas mode now for making cards although i think they will go by the wayside when my niece decides on which invitation she likes best and i have to hurry and make them up along with the rest of the fal de ral. I love the inspiration that you give us each day as it is always something different. Thank you Sue for your continuing friendship that you give to each of us on this fantastic blog.
Oh Pam it is so good to hear from you today as it has been a strange blog with your name missing at the top. I hope that the pain is worth it in the long run flower. You are not complaining, you are sore having just had an excruciating operation done to your foot. I wish there was something we could do for you. Take it easy and i hope each day it will get better and calm down the pain.
WOW Cameeli, i hope that you have a terrific time across in New York for your birthday and anniversary.
Glad you're feeling better Hazel and able to blog again.
Tina flower, i am thinking of you so much as i know how hard it is to be without your first boyfriend namely your dad. Mine sent me a valentines card every year along with mum getting one and Kirsten from her older boyfriend. She could never find out who this was sending her this card each year until after he was gone and it didn't happen. 7 years my dad has been gone and i still miss him, but i talk to him all the time. If you keep him alive in your heart and mind, he will never be far away.
Could you tell last night i was typing on that stupid tablet thing and would it type the letters i was picking...no. It decided it was going to use the ones it wanted to so hence the gobbledygook enter, sorry. Well i hope the weather man is right with his predictions and it stays the lovely day that it is like the now, although if i am hoping that my son will arrive out of his bedroom to see the outside world might be a big ask.
Well from me and my hills, i will leave you all and hopefully see you all tomorrow. From the Costa de Glenochil and my beautiful hills i wish you all a lovely day. Sending gentle hugs to Robbie with a prayer to keep him safe and to all my fragile friends as well,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

Hi Sue, what a gorgeous card today, I love it. I especially like the moonlit berries embossing folder and it's now on my list for Aberdeen :)

I met up with Norah for the first time this morning and as you might guess from her writings she is as mad as a box of frogs :D LOL. Seriously, though, she is a lovely lady who wears her troubles lightly and we enjoyed a couple of coffees and a good blether. I'm sure we will be meeting again.

This one is totally different to usual. Lots of different techniques. I must've missed this particular show as I managed to record two of them an they were great! Love the flower I must give that a try looks fabby
Love Tracy from killie x

janet said...

Love this -another 'must try'. I'm glad you put the technique in the title- it makes it much easier to find particular techniques when they are listed as part of the card title. Would it be possible to do this each time you use any particular technique on a card please?

Hello Sue, Thank You, and for anyone reading Sue' bloggers I asked when would she be showing this card on her blog as we have poor reception for emails in our holiday home, and replied "I will blog it on Monday how's that for you".
What a star we have ladies, Sue holds no boundaries for her followers and I am truly blessed for all that I learn from her.
The reason I am so late in blogging my thanks is it took nearly four hours to find the embossing folder, but it's on its way so my family and friends will be getting hopefully very similar cards to this Christmas.
X Ros

Dear Sue,
What a beautiful and chic Christmas card! I love it.
It took me a few reads through to get your method but I got there in the end (my concentration isn't good at the moment ).
I love the milk/cream and gold colour way you've used.
I've been loving your cards these last few days.

I'm so sorry I've not been commenting though, I'm going through a symptom flare up probably stress related. I've had to rest and sleep a lot the last few weeks.

Thank you for all your hard work running the blog and for your creativity and time making all the sample cards and videos to craft along to.

I thought I'd subscribed to your videos on utube but will have to check this as I've not had any messages as yet!

Love and hugs from Katie-Louise sweetlove

Love the colours and the stick pins and tulle flower.
My stamps (the snowflake set) came on Saturday and I will have a play very soon! Maybe not tonight. Lol!
Hope you have a lovely time in Scotland and meet up with some of the lovely ladies on this blog.
