White Wedding

Hi bloggers!  Such a simple and elegant card today for you.  Perfect for a wedding or anniversary or any special occasion really.  I have added a second card for you today since this was part of the sneak peeks for the blog release in Feb.  Don't forget to click the subscriber button on Youtube so you can be notified when any new videos are uploaded!

Buy from Joanna Sheen

Finished dimensions are 7" x 8" in size.  Now on to the second card today as promised!

A coffee card from the shows back in February.  I started by creating a background using my score board.  I made a wide border by scoring around the square of coconut white card.   I cut a small square of periwinkle card  and stamped the "steam" swirl in the middle then used the Tied Together folder on it.  I added pearls to each of the embossed junctions and inked the edges with some picket Fence distress stain.    I stamped the coffee cup from Justrite on periwinkle card and embossed it with white powder.  I cut it out by hand and mounted it up on foam for dimension.  I coloured it with Stormy Sky and Broken China distress inks.  Using the Vintage Floret die, I made a small flower out of vellum and added it over the flower that is actually part of the image on the cup.  I stamped a friendly sentiment then added it to the coffee cup handle with some Bakers Twine.  I used my piercing ruler to add my usual pierced edge to my coconut white mat, then layered a thin mat of periwinkle with a final white mat to complete the card.  Finished dimensions are 8" x 8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue
Love both cards. The first is so elegant, it would also look lovely in red and black for a Valentine Day's card.
I really like the way you have scored the background on the second card, so precise, Perhaps a need for an embossing die to get such a crisp finish? The other elements are so pretty. Anne x

morning Sue
Today's get together in your beautiful craft room really set my day off to a wonderful start.
I'm just so jealous I haven't a wedding to go to so I could use today's gift. It's so so so elegant and simple and again like yesterday has gone into my 'less is more' file with the hope that I can use it at sometime. White on white is always a winner with me. I used your filigree bows yesterday for the first time and they are gorgeous as you say. A beautiful change from ribbon.
Take care and see you tomorrow.

Sue - it's me again - I forgot to mention the second gift for today. I have been trying for quite sometime now to get the stamp of this coffee cup but have not succeeded.
It just seems to be very scarce. I ordered it from C&C when you demoed it but it never arrived. I just so like this stamp so will keep trying.
No-one seems to have it in stock.

Morning Sue, morning Wilsonettes. Firstly - FLOSS - Many thanks for the info regarding Sue's mom's birthday. Yep its this coming Sunday and mom's name is JILL. I did contact Sue asking if it would be appropriate and would her lovely mom like 100+ Birthday wishes' and we have the ok to go ahead. Imagin how chuffed Momma Jill will be and Sue said she will love it : )

Florida is 5ish hour's behind us, so as we oooo and ahhhh over two beautiful pretty cards, Sue is still snoozing, probably dreaming about the next lot of new dies and what she can do with them ! Is that creative, artistic, clever mind still ?!
I thought I had our daughters wedding card or sorted in my mind until this gorgous beauty flew out at me, she is a woman who likes little fuss, plain but beautiful things is what Lou appreciates, so this card is so perfect, although I have 2 extra dies to invest in not the origional one die I first thought about, but like I just said, they will out live me, so these dies are an investment.
I have the coffee cup stamp and its really pretty. You bought it to us just as I had a request for a best friend card who loves coffee, so I had the perfect reason to buy it, it makes a beautiful versitile card. Both cards are stunning, really fresh, and the scoring makes everything else on the card pop.
I hope you all had a good night sleep, and feel rested and well.
Looking forward to seeing 100's of happy birthday to Jill ( Sue's mom) on Sunday.

Sorry if it 'niggles' anyone, but I shall give a quick reminder from tomorrow onwards, its the least we can do considering she has loaned her wonderful daughter to us.
Hugs to all today.

WOW! Again, both cards are gorgeous! I love the wedding card it looks so simple but sumptuous at the same time,I think it reminds me of the back of a beautiful wedding gown, and the score lines above and below the congratulations sentiment highlight it perfectly.
The second card is adorable too, I don't have this stamp but I do have a die which is very similar ( cup & saucer )so I'm sure I could come up with something similar, I have the entwined circles folder but might have to put this one on my wish list, also agree with other comments about the mitred scored border it's sooo precise and just lovely ,an idea for a new folder hopefully? Hope you are having a great time with your mum!

Good Morning Sue,

Wow these cards are so sublime, i love the simplicity of them both, the cup one reminds me of wedgewood with the powdery blue.I love using 'tied together' and haven't for a long time, i also have the 'coffee' stamp set as i love coffee and couldnt resist so i may just do something similar. Like you, i see this as more of a tea cup, like one of the fine bone china cups rather than a coffee cup but hey,who am i to argue, all i know is that what you have made with it is better than tea!!! Hi Sue,
Such elegant cards, the simplicity of the white on white card proves that sometimes, less is more. The delicate die cuts really speak for themselves. The periwinkle and white of the second card reminds me so much of the Wedgewood china my mother loved to collect, (blue was her favourite colour) and the 'tied together' folder is so effective, one of those go to crafty items.

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
I feel in love with the Wedding card the first time i saw it and it has never wavered as it is absolutely stunning. I think without the bow it could make a beautiful Sympathy card as less is definitely more in that situation. The 2nd card is a lovely Just Because/ Thinking of You/ Miss our Coffee Together kind of a card. It has me thinking of making a box frame to the back of it as the lovely channeled embossing would be a beautiful frame, building up the inside as decoupage, oh my heads birlin' today with ideas.
I'm in on the mega Happy Birthday Momma Jill as everyone deserves to be treated like a Superstar on their special day and who better to give that Hollywood treatment than our own shining stars' mum.
Glad to see that some of our Wilsonettes have had lovely times up here in Scotland, yes it is hilly and there is not much more to do here than walk and enjoy the beautiful landscape that is our lovely country but most of the locals are friendly. Even our 4 legged locals don't bother who is coming or trying to go down they're roads, that is until you meet our heilan' caye(eye with a k in front). On a trip that mum and dad took down from Skye one of the times they met up with the 4 legged locals who just saunter anywhere they please. Dad getting a wee bit harrassed at this point starts shouting at them to mooove (heeheehee) out the road. It turns its head up from eating to look at him as if to say"you talking to me?" and carries on in its pursuits. Now as this was the spring of 91' after my wedding in which we had got my dad a camcorder to give him an interest (Which didn't work, back to the sorting of cars) mum took to learning how to work this thing. She's filming away at the sights and scenery and you can hear dad in the background getting more and more frustrated, he suddenly starts swearing(which just wasn't him if women or children where in proximity) and mum shouting at him"John, you've turned my movie into a blue movie". Well i think its the only way i can hear my dad now, but i'll take it but always gently laugh at mum's blue movie. So morale is ladies and gents, if you are determined to get off the beaten track and see the real Scotland, remember some of our locals just have no manners and take no heid of you (Princess Anne included) as she is a frequent visitor through our part of the country going up to her Scottish base. Tandy and Vanessa, i hope you keep coming to our happy shores and for those of us that live at the seaside already, lucky you.
Sending gentle hugs to our Pam, Judy and everyone else that could do with a little comforting on our happy wee blog. I am so chuffed that the number of people telling Sue that her hard work is appreciated by coming and leaving a comment, it makes it all worthwhile for her. Hope you and Mum are having a lovely time Sue and you are having some rest at least.
Love and crafty hugs from a beautiful day here at the Ochils, with the sun in the sky and some fluffy clouds not doing anything with no care in the world and my beautiful hills so prominent and clear in every detail,
Norah (Glenochil)

Don't know if you had noticed, but Coleman's craft warehouse is doing 3 for price of 2 with Sue's dies, but be careful...I was placing an order last night and although it says free delivery on their advert, when I got to check out they tried to add £4.99. I live 2 and half hours north of Glasgow, and still very much mainland, but according to them I must be on an island. Abandoned order on principal, and will go back to Joanna Sheen as usual, but some of you may be able to take advantage of this offer.
Cheers

Hi Sue. Both of these are gorgeous :) I will have to watch the video later on today but the 1st card is a perfect CAS - Clean And Simple for those that are new to card making. It took me ages to realise what it meant, it is obvious once you do know isn't it, another one of my many "Doh!" moments :)The 2nd card is another beauty, I love the detail on it.
A hug for Pam, and anyone that are feeling low.
Norah, you made me laugh with your tale yesterday, bless you : )
Pam S Witney, have a good day in Southmoor, I know it well, should do as I live there, he he, funny how we could walk past each other and not realise isn't it!
Cameeli, I'm sure you already know but you could get shoes died to match any colour. Not cheap though. If you get really stuck think about using Promarkers, or similar, to colour a white/cream pair! I did this once to a pair of my daughters after she was a bridesmaid with cream shoes that would never have been worn again otherwise. It worked a treat (I sprayed them with waterproofer after dying!)
Welcome to all of the new Wisonettes, someone asked yesterday what it meant-sorry can't recall who- it's a name that someone came up with several years ago for all of us Sue Wilson fans : ) Take care.

Hello Sue and all the crafters,

Such a beautiful wedding card, simple yet elegant. Sometimes I forget the principle of less is more and have a tendency to keep going. I must remember that it is possible to make beautiful and elegant cards quickly. My god daughter is getting married this July so you have inspired me to try out some new ideas.

Have a great day,

Hi Sue, omg, omg , omg these 2 cards are sublime. I love the simplicity of the first one and what a great card for a wedding invite classy. You must have the patience of a saint to get all the lines on the background for the second card, even the corners are mitred !!!!! a beautiful card to send to someone just to say hello. I bought the "Coffee" stamp set when I saw it on one of your previous shows and enjoy using it. Lol to you and mom lynne m x x x x x

Fur babies after lulling me into a false sense of calm on Tuesday by behaving relatively well are now on top form. Yesterday was their second birthday so booked the gromming visit for then. Door was knocked so got their leads/collars on to take them to the awaiting van. Tails wagging cuz they thought mum was taking them out, off they went ready to explore the outside ( or so they thought). As they spied the van their bums hit the pavement and their claws dug into the ground. No amount of coaxing would budge them. So I had to pick each one up ( separately) as not small dogs) and carry them to the van. The embarassment of it to think that I have wusses for dogs. I thought all ladies loved being pampered. When I told hubby of it he laughed and said that he didn't think our two were ladies!!!!!. Today, just to to make sure that they stay clean for more than 24 hours I am having to, when they are in the garden run round after them to stop both from rolling on the grass. Its not walking the dogs now its "Running the mum". Hugs and lol to all Wilsonettes. lol lynne m & CLEAN fur babies x x x x

Hi all. I feel I owe all long standing Wilsonettes an appology. After trying to find last year's blog on my phone (plus Im not one of the brightest bulbs in the box) as far as finding my way to or around blogs) unless someone holds my hand ! But what a blinkin muppet Ive been ! So sorry ! Why didnt it occur to me that many many of you have filled.Sue's blog each April 27th with Happy Birthday messages to Sue's mom ! I am really sorry, my enthusiasm must have been very irritating to those Wilsonettes ( not my idea to give that name my I add) who have supported Sue's blog from the 1st day she went 'live' as the puter people say !
So please accept my sincere appologies to those that have thought under their breath "oh LS stop telling us how to suck eggs" !! : )
My enthusiasm will be just for the stunning work we are lucky enough to see everyday here : )

Opps - Sorry.

It's a glorious sunny day in Blackpool, quite warm too, so don't feel I'm missing out on the sunshine of the USA.
I love both cards especially the simplicity and elegance of the wedding card.
I have been watching the weekend shows I recorded. Lol, I felt completely honoured that we had seen most of the samples on here. How lucky we are. I've seen the first three so far but it goes without saying that the dies would be popular. They really are beautiful. And to see them all showcased together is stunning. You really do deserve an award/commendation on these dies. They are so easy to use, card perfectly first time and release effortlessly. Fantastic for me with bad dexterity.
I only have 2 Spanish, a californian and a striplet so far but I would love to own the complete set including the beautiful stamps. Here's wishing! Lots of love to all, Jo xx

Hi Sue and all crafty Wilsonettes!
Two beauties today Sue, thank you! Have used the cup and saucer stamp a lot! However the embossing with the blue and white makes it look like delicate blue and white china. Gorgeous! Love the first card too - lovely to have some cards which don't take too long to make but still have the Sue Wow factor.
Hope you are having a lovely time in sunny Florida.
I am in a bit of a flap today - too much to do and not enough day! This is being done while having my lunch.
So, just sending crafty hugs to everyone today!
Love Myra

Ps. Cameeli I too have used pro markers on shoes! Admittedly not entire shoe! Had black shoes with a cream trim - trim looked grubby so used a royal blue on the trim! It matched a coat! Several asked me where I got my shoes! My husband was mortified when I said I'd coloured them in!

Hi Sue
Two outstanding cards absolutely wonderful, I have used the first design several times for different occasions and all were received very well with lots of praise! I just love the striplet die, it cuts like a dream, all your dies do.
Cameeli have you tried for matching shoes in bridal shops/departments as often they have a variety of colours for bridesmaids? Hope the butterflies keep going well, cleaver lady.
Oh Steph no one could get upset with you please don't you worry darling. Just a thought how if we all left the birthday messages up until a set time on the day and then left Sue her messages later in the day that way they would all be grouped together for Sue's Mom?
Norah I sometimes come up to Stirling to a patchwork shop and love it up there, although we have to allow time for my hubby to visit a few distilleries!
Warm wishes and hugs to those who need them especially those who are struggling at present.
