Pearl Congratulations

Hi bloggers!  Today's video is a rather short one (by my standards) and I hope you can find a few minutes to sit and enjoy it.  There is a great technique for using the Spanish Collection dies and getting a completely different look from them.  I hope I have piqued your interest!  Since this card was shown during the sneak peeks in Feb., I have added a second card below to the post for you too.

Buy from Joanna Sheen

The second card today was a bit of an experiment as I just wondered what it would look like if I scribbled with my Distress Markers onto coconut white card and spritzed them with water so they bled a bit.  I decided to go a bit further so I dried them well and then stamped over them with the Butterfly from the Justrite stamp set called Butterfly Kisses using a Black Archival ink pad.  I added the sentiment which was from the Vintage Rose Labels Seven stamp set by Justrite.  Then, of course, I had to see what it would look like covered in a bit of bling so I added a sticky adhesive sheet to it and covered it in the Iced Snow.  I matted and layered it all in white with some piercing around it and it was finished in about ten minutes!  Fun and quick, you can't beat that!  Finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 8 1/4" in size.

Don't forget to tune in to see Julia Watts in action today at 9am and 3pm on Create and Craft tv .  She has some brand new lovely stamps to show off as well!  All for now, Sue x

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
Your top card with the white, blue and black is beautiful Sue and the touch of black is just enough to make it pop. The second card is typical of the type of weather we get here in the UK, snowing when it's now into the warmer season and the butterflies are going around. It's different from your normal Sue, but so pretty. I love how the colours have run so that it is more designer. Simple yet beautiful and plain in the very loosest sense of the word as there it is anything but plain.
Tina flower, being in pain is a norm for us and we cope with it, but someone coming and taking half your toenail off is a very different, eye watering, oouching pain entirely. Oh how i hope you are in better foot form soon and you are anything bar a wimp. I so hope that that pain calms down soon for you. Your poor daughter must be in bits with worry about her dresses as it is coming up fast. You're trying to keep a lid on the anger pot as you are not wanting to upset her anymore than she is already, but i think we can all understand what you are going through. My own wedding was a hoot from start to finish. Cake was won in charity auction and came the night before instead of week and was the wrong one. Baker & wife had split up that week so my cake went else where. My 2(1 future unmarried sister in law) bridesmaids decided they weren't getting measured for their dresses after buying 4 different colours to suit them all. The 2 flower girls(hubby's neice's) the oldest had been slimming doing great until SIL fed neice on McD's and new dress had to be made 2 weeks before wedding. Dog ate my headdress & bouquet. Cleaned everywhere apart from the ridge under the bannister marking my long ivory gloves so had to carry them. Wedding car 30 mins late couldn't find wedding ribbon for car. Eldest flower girl tried to jump the slushy puddle and landed in the middle, home to be bathed and shoes, dress & cape to be washed, dried & ironed before returning. Doc called for mum at midnight as bleeding from stomach, injection then, back at 2am and 6sm for more. As i say i had a wonderful wedding, guess what number i live at????? Lucky white heather anyone?
Fame01, Sarah hope the wee lass is ok and recovers quickly.
Have a great day everyone and i hope to see you tomorrow,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Gleochil)

Hi Sue. Fantastic, It's video day !! I loved your video today and the card you made was just gorgeous !! Black, white and Periwinkle blue, what a beautiful combination of colours Sue. I have fallen in love with Periwinkle blue at the moment. We'll your new dies that you used today Sue are certainly dies to die for !! They are all gorgeous and are all on my great long wish list !! I really loved all of them. I am still patiently waiting to try and get my hands on them at Alley Palley but you are not making it easy for me Sue. I want them all NOW !!!!! I hate waiting !! Hubby keeps teasing me saying if I buy stuff now I will have less money to spend at Alley Palley so I am sitting on my hands.
I love the idea of cutting the die in half to make a square instead of a rectangle. Such a simple but genius idea !!! One I would never have thought of. I really love everything about this card and when I can get hold of the dies I will be having a go at this one.
I really like your bright colourful butterfly card to but I do not have any distress markers. I may try it with my ink pads using the same technique as Maggie (without a bow.) I really like to add depth to my cards and I think I would make a second butterfly to stick on top of the first for some dimension. I love the iced snow to. Another Item for my Alley Palley list !! Thanks Sue, you are so clever !!

Hi Sue

Your cards today are stunning, and the butterfly card looks a simple, but very effective technique, I love it, and a video too. You are like a Ferrero Rocher, " you are really spoiling us".

Norah, are you sure you were'nt shooting a carry on film, called carry on Norah's Nightmare, makes mine look a whimsical walk in the park, and you made me laugh . Thank you. The latest news on the dresses are, they arrived at the bridal shop this morning and she said she could fit 2 of the bridesmaids in today for any alterations at 3,o clock. About 1/2 an hour ago the bridal shop rang to say, that there has bee a gas explosion next door to the Mayflower Theatre, and they have closed the road and evacuating all businesses in that area, and she is one of them. Can you Adam & Eve it. I don't know if you will hear this on the news in Scotland today,so now I have to wait for her to let me know when it's safe to reopen her shop. I guess it could have been worse, she could have rung and said the dresses have blown up. I do have a smile on my face, promise.

Toe sill throbbing,I have just had dressing changed, that made my stomach churn. Hey ho, it's only a toe.

Steph, Thinking of you today X

Kind regards :-)

Been a bit stressful here today, my daughter has a place for uni in September to her final year PCGE course to be a teacher, and has to get her skills tests done by the 21st of this month, she did them both today but failed her literacy one, the numeracy one she was dreading she passed, fingers crossed she can get it next week, as she will only have one more chance then can not redo them for another two years which will put a stop to what she is doing at the moment, arghhh why is nothing ever easy.. xx

Great idea with the first card, showing how versatile the dies can be if you cut them up and lay them out in a different way. Not totally convinced by the second card. It IS different and original, but reminds me of a card I once made when the kids were small .... it was nice until one of them got hold of a crayon!!

Love both the cards.Good to have a play and try out new things.

Two amazing cards, the first looks so beautifully filigree, the tip of converting a rectangle die into a square opens up a whole new range of possibilities! Love the bright colours in the second card and the iced snow gives a wonderful 'bling' effect to that gorgeous stamped image. Thank you for the super ideas and inspiration.x

Hellooooo Sue and all the Wilsonettes! Ooooo Sue, yesterday's THREE-fer giveaway cards were gorgeous! Wow! You are so generous! Good luck to all you lucky people! Then today another twofer and a video as well. Wonderful and "thank you" for all you do x Beautiful cards today. Loving those dies and the way you have cut and pieced them together. Love the colours together. Stunning butterfly. I love those "happy" bright colours and the "shiny" effect. One to cheer up your day.... there again any Sue card would brighten your day!! Awww Tina, you take care of that toe and hoping that you are able to get into the shop for the bridesmaid dresses. Just sit quiet with your favourite music coming through those headphones and chill xx Bless you Norah. By 'eck, so what could go wrong, went wrong! Luckily the love bit took over all the obstacles.... xx Hope you've had a great day Sue! Pam sending you and all the Wilsonettes love and hugs, take care, xx Love Karen xx

Congratulations to....me eh?

Love the cards today, the butterfly is my favourite as I just love them - and Pearls too!!

I have just received one of your dies today and have some of the flunky animal stamps too - so i can try them out at the weekend.

Too much craft stuff but not enough time to play with them.

Craftihappiness to you all, love from Pearl

Lovely, another video and two gorgeous cards. The first one is very 'you' and the idea that the background die allows for any border width to be created is so clever. The technique with the distress markers certainly worked well! Just shows it's always worth experimenting.

Evening Sue and all Wilsonettes. I did manage to watch the tutorial this morning, but Debenhams was calling, or should I say my darling bride to be was asking (again) if Id done anything about my wedding outfit (you know the one - my second worse nightmare after driving test and farmers wedding cards !
So anyway after being picked up off the floor a dozen times or so after squinting at price labels ( thought they had started printing the date, let alone price) !!!! Anyway I slouched back as by the end I couldnt decide where I hurt the most, with two bags, yep TWO bags, one with a navy dress, one with a beautiful deep victorianish pink fasinator, fascinator, whatever, a band with fussy stuff and half a bird on it plus a pink jacket ordered from M&S, the shoes and bag will have to wait, but at least Ive made a start : )
and yesterday I ordered my Italian die from my little craft shop ready for the wedding card. When I got back Id had my invite for her Hen 'do' HEN, me ? More like a tough old turkey the way Im feeling right now ! Haho.
So to calm my body down I thought Id join my lovely family here whilst dinner is cooking and its so lovely to unwind with 2 beautiful cards, I must admit Id totally missed the pretty 2nd card, its so happy and colourful Sue.

Corgie Margaret you are so kind, I do have the little tree thank you and used it many times since I had it, such a quaint little die again thank you for your thoughfullness.
Oooo Tina what an owie. Id have cried like a baby having that done ! On the other foot thank goodness the dresses are safe I was dreading reading the rest you had my heart beating out of my chest so goodness knows how you felt when she called !
Tomorrow is another day and I really hope its SO much better than the past 2 !!
Well Im all done so Im sending love and hugs to you all.

Lancashire Steph xx

Hi Sue,
Just had time to watch the video. Now you are a magician! How to turn a rectangle into a square ! So lovely! I really like that card and as you said on the video so simple - now that you've shown us how! Love the colours and have the card and dies so - will do my very "bestest" as a child in my class used to say!
Had fun time crafting this afternoon with some ladies and gentlemen in the Care Home! We made all sorts of Easter eggs which are now hanging on ribbon from a painted twig tree! Lovely to see people relax and have pride in what they've achieved.
Thanks for all your help.

Steph - outfit sounds lovely! My stress levels are going down and I'm just reading about your escapades! X
