All That Glitters

Happy April 1st!  Here is the second video in the series ( no fooling!) which shows how to change the look of the die cuts by mixing and matching with other sets, as well as a nice stamping technique and layout idea.  I hope you can take a few minutes and give it a watch!  Let me know what you think.

Finished dimensions are 8" x 8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Gorgeous card today, Sue, and - as you say - opulent. Great video, thank you, love it all - micro beads, fab diecuts and really like the mock-stripe panels at the sides.
Pam - with very best wishes on your birthday, guess this will be a hard one for you. Tried out your new words on himself yesterday after he had spent quite some time (days!) taking apart and renovating his late mother's garden bench. It was a great job - so "Congrrra-TOO-tay - stun-AIRRR-o" - bemused he asks
what language - I replied Pamish, of course!! Keep 'em coming, Pam.

I watched this video on YouTube quite a while ago. I love the design of it but to be honest I preferred it before you added the sticky sheet - it mutes the gold swirls too much for me. Of course, if I was lucky enough to see it in real life I might change my mind!

Pam - nothing any of us can say is going to make any of these 'firsts' any easier (first b/day, Xmas etc) but hopefully everyone's words will make you feel a little less alone.

Thank you for allowing me to visit this morning. The coffee was lovely; the setting wonderful but most of all the company was fantastic.
Although today's gift is not my 'cup of tea' in the colour choices the format is wonderful and I will be having a go but in different colours.
Your dies are truly spectacular and my penny bank is nearly ready to buy some more of them.
Busy day today as it's my fortnightly crafty knit and natter with some of my crafty friends and it's also my turn to demo so have to make sure I've got everything and enough sets for all. (it's always my dread that I'll get there and not have enough sets of the card to be made.)
See you tomorrow.

Good morning Sue and all my fellow Wilsonettes,
Todays card is going to take a bit of re-looking through the day Sue for me, not that i don't like it, but i'm not sure about it all. I think i will break it down in sections for my brain to cope with. I do think though that it would make a wonderful man's card and that is probably what is wrong with me, i don't do men's cards easily, to me they are as difficult to make a card for as they are to get a gift for.
Pam flower, i want to wish for you a peaceful birthday as i know very well that it is tinged with bitter sweet moments. You are going to have a rough time for all of these firsts and just when you thought you were back in some sort of control another one of these days pop up.I can only say that i have you in my thoughts and am sending a big cyber hug to you, as i wish i could do more. We are all sending you loving vibes and hope that you get even the smallest comfort from them.
I was tired yesterday morning but so glad daughter now has everything and is on her way to Manchester Airport for her holiday in Egypt. I tried all other Clackmannanshire yesterday for her typhoid tablets with none to be had anywhere so had to go to Stirling. Got a telling off at Shopmobility, Debenhams cafe, Boots pharmacy, the lot as i think the face and body gave away what i was feeling like inside (traitors). It felt like i was doing everything in slow motion yesterday as the body just couldn't go any faster. My big son(my daughters other half) came to get his hair cut to go on holiday and it just took forever it seemed to cut it. I have a date with the sofa this morning at least, see if i can restore some power into me. Take care my dear friends from a horrible rainy day up here, i hope that you have better weather where you are.
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)
P.S Number 1 son is away to school with his Picaku, Rudolph Reindeer and Monkey onesies today as they are having Onesie day. Grand plan is to change every second period and so that his team can get more points....i would say i don't know where i got him from, but as a child growing into a teenager and beyond i was on the Players Cigarette floats going through Stirling as something different every year, so i know that he is definitely mine.
Thinking of our friends that are hurting in so many ways today xx

Morning Sue and lovely Wilsonettes. Such a rich card today wonderfully highlighted by your video, thank you for allowing me into your world Sue.
A big sheet of self adhesive paper and not a single growl or tut heard ! Im ALL growled and tutted out after the war with my self adhesive yesterday !! Im convinced that if I ignore the flakes, they have telapathic abilities to get to the adhesive sheets to give me trouble ! Problem 1 - as my index finger is shorter than it should be with very little feeling, It slipped from my fingers and grabbed the piece of card just where it shouldn't go and held tight, Im certain that crease was a smarmy smile that said " ha now what ya gonna do" so I growled, boy did I growl ! Have you got Marg Simpson crafting in there with you I heard come from the lounge ! Tut, NOT funny, growl !
Problem 2 - backing came off as I was releasing the card and self adhesive from my my feux Sue leaves, I had sticky paper attatched to my pikey tool, I had sticky paper stuck to my die, I had sticky paper stuck to my fingers and to the plaster on me thumb, TUT growl TUT, jazz hands to try and flick off all this bloomin paper, TUT TUT growl, then the room turned a pale shade of blue (only a tiny bit promise) deeep breath and coffee ! So Im going back for the second round after Ive finished here !

Alison, such a relief to read no major damage.

Our PAM - Today will be a sad day full of last year birthday memories. There are so many days to get through this year and each will be hard. You wear your mask to sheild others, but you are the important person, so take all the love and thoughts people want to shower you with today, cry when YOU want. We are all thinking of you in your birthday and if we could get to put our arms round you it would be so powerful, but not the same as you long for today. The empty space where that card should be is a constant memory. Tim is in your heart today. I hope we can help just a little knowing so many of us put our arms round you on your birthday xxx

love to all.

Hi Sue. WOW, WOW, WOW !! What a gorgeous card today !! I know some other people are unsure about the colour scheme but I think it is perfect !! I love black, cream and soft gold card together. I think it looks very rich and opulent. I love the dies you have used and now you have shown us today's card I have absolutely no idea which of your dies I would love to buy next at Alley Palley hopefully !! I have your round decorative frames dies ( sorry can't remember the name of this set as I am constantly getting them muddled up !! ) I really love them, they are so pretty !! I love the bow, flower and beautiful stick pins too !! There is only one change I would make and that is not putting the micro beads on. I think it looks great without them. Such a beautiful card Sue, thanks for sharing it with us and thanks for another first class video too !! Ohhh I do love video days !! They are my favourite days of the week !!

Hellooooo Sue and all the Wilsonettes! Ooooo chi naz a dandy! Elegante and just stunning Sue x The video is fantastic. It's lovely watching you go from stage to stage in the making of the card. Beeeaauutiful dies. I love the California dies.....the Italian dies....the Hollywood dies....oooo such a wonderful choice.....I want it all...!I love how you have done the border either side with black and soft gold card. Very nice....along with those pearls (I love pearls...Is there anything I don't like...not a lot!). Stunning flower....pins...baby breath. Now that's nice as it looks different to the baby breath I have and seen. You can that one on ebay and it looks so effective. It looked really nice over an embellishment on a ruby wedding card that I did. Thank you so much for the videos Sue, they're really helpful. Pam...just to wish you a happy birthday today. Sending you big big hugs and love. I'm sure Tim has been with you more than realise...xxxx On another note I reckon 'P' in Wales will make you famous with your "new" language...you never know it could catch on and just go viral! xx Evelyn, what a lovely Irish blessing.....Steph...I know it isn't funny, been there and done it but it's just the way you tell them. I reckon you and Norah just get together. Your husband was brave though shouting that eh?! Norah.... hope you've had a good rest on the settee duck. We do tend to push it a bit then pay for it later. Eeee ecky thump, all for love hope No 1 son has a great day today xx Alison...great news about your knee hun...phew! Keep taking it steady xx Beryl....it is maddening duck, especially as it's for your daughters sake. Hope they make it up to you both xx Before I go, good luck to everybody in the Wednesday card giveaway! Hope you all have a good day tomorrow x Sending lots of love and hugs to you who needs them....xx Love Karen xx

Good card today Sue, although not as good as your usual standard if I might say!!

I'll watch the video after tea and see how you made the card,

Experiment is useful to see how items react and interact with each other though.

Craftihappiness to you all, love from Pearl.

Lovely card and super video Sue, I do like the way your dies all intermingle and just using the second die without the outer edge to create the inner pattern is so nice. Love from Jackie D

Hello Sue,
Have at last found the time to watch the video and it didn't disappoint, up to your usual excellent standard.
The way you are able to mix up your different die sets and they all just marry so well together. Pure genius!!!!!
Thank you so much.
Love Brenda xxx

Norah - I hope you manage to have some sofa time today, sorry about the rain up there, down here we had sunshine most of the day and people are walking around in T-shirts and shorts - but you can bet it won't last.
Alison - good news about the knee, but do take it easy.

Pam - you have been on my mind all day, I hope today hasn't been too painful and you manage to get some pleasure on your birthday
