Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi crafters!  Today's card giveaway is a Stained Glass creation.  I do apologise profusely that my pictures do not capture the true sparkle of the Butterfly Stained Glass in coconut white card.  I glued it to clear acetate and worked from the back to fill in all the areas with Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue, then glittering them with various shades of Polished Silk Glitter.  You need to decide what colours you are using first then fill in those areas with the darkest colours first and work towards your lightest colours.  Set it aside to dry overnight or until the glue turns clear and you can see your glittered image.  I wanted to add it to a larger background so I cut the Indonesian Background twice out of Blue Dusk card.  I cut them both at about 1/3 the way across, then put the two larger sections together to form the frame for this one.  I added small butterflies to the frame to disguise the seams in the frame.  I completed the card with a white on white mat with piercing.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x  8" in size.  Leave a comment to be entered into the drawing to win this one.  We are doing the blog launch for the Christmas die release starting here tomorrow morning so the winner of this card will be announced on Saturday the 24th after the blog launch is completely over.  All for now, Sue x

Gorgeous card, lovely giveaway, someone will be very very happy. Looking forward to blog launch.
Elaine, you are in the wars lately, hope the knee improves soon, and that Andrew feels well enough to enjoy his weekend away. What a lovely thought from Daniel.
Crewe Trish, it is a difficult decision, the boys are much older and they were determined to go and wear their black ties. They had a heart shaped wreath with white flowers. Ryan wrote, Goodbye Grandad, we love you. Jack wrote Thank you fir being a great grandad. Their own words, so lovely. Jack took photos of the flowers.
Yvonne, sorry you are still not well, you have done well with the parents being there. Hope they have a safe journey home.
Saba, I could see Dave had lost weight, think Julia had too, they both looked so well. Wish I knew their secret.
My manager at work told me I have to take flexi to go to hospital fir respitiry appointment as I would be missing 2.30 hours and can't get back before my finish time. She said if I can't Wirk with a bit of dust i should leave oh and you cant prive that Work made me ill. I said isn't that constructive dismissal and that shocked her. What a bunch
Daily hugs to all, edieciakky misding and poorly friends, missing you all.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, such a stunningly beautiful card as a giveaway today, someone is going to be in seventh heaven when their name is published. Good Luck.

So looking forward to the Christmas blog launch, I have ordered 3 of the dies but wanted to see how you used them first before deciding which ones to order each month.

Pam I reiterate everything you have said above. I cannot believe that your manager is so heartless and uncaring, how can she say that if you can't work with a bit of dust and that you can't prove it is the dust that is causing you (and others) all these health problems then you should leave, that to me is certainly constructive dismissal - did anyone else witness this, I would make sure you write everything down each time it is said to you as a record. There are some wicked people out there in so called managerial positions, who think they are little Hitlers. sorry rant over, I really do feel for you as I have been in a similar position, luckily for me my manager was sacked for gross misconduct over the way she treated me and many people before me.

Off to craft group this morning, looking forward to that.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Oh Sue, what a pretty start to the day, I'm getting various colour schemes as a scroll down but this has to be the biggest treat you could give anyone, it's truely amazing and beautiful, your very first Stained Glass giveaway if I'm right. We are so lucky to have found you. Stand by for being blamed again Sue, we are celebrating our 38th anniversary soon and after the postie knocked the door yesterday, I heard wardrobe doors open and close lol can only be one reason for that and it's all I ever ask for and receive as you well know, so I'm excited to see what you're blamed for later in the week lol one extra wish if I may be so greedy is that you could take the blame for my talent but there is no chance of that, unlike some lovely followers I could name but won't embarrass them, I'll never ever share your talent.
Thank you Sue for this wonderful opportunity to own one of these magnificent works of art of yours.
Sending love n hugs your way. Hope your day is as beautiful as your giveaway xxx

Hello Sue,

What a wonderful creation for the giveaway this week. Some lucky individual will be very happy. The card is certainly stunning. I can just imagine that the glittering is fabulous. It shows up better on some of the views than others but I would think to get the full effect it is something you need to see in person.

Looking forward to your launch tomorrow. It's so exciting seeing the new dies and how you have used them.

Have a wonderful day.

Dear Sue and Hopefuls,

Oh my, oh my, this is amazing! The Butterfly Stained Glass is fabulous enough, but to color it with polished silk glitters just isn't fair, and then to frame it by supersizing the Indonesian Background and adding little butterflies, it's wonderful! And then you give us a chance to win it, and on top of that you announce you're only a day away from giving us a week of four-times-a-day bliss, plus chances to win the new dies. If I wasn't already lying down, I'd have to go lie down.

Pam, I'm sorry you have to go through this, but you will prevail. They shouldn't be surprised that the people they mistreat are smart.

Elaine, you have a wise knee. It put its foot down, so to speak, to keep you out of everyone else's worries and keep you resting at home, the best place for you to be for a good long break.

P in Wales, when I was 50, I believed people who said I looked 35, but not anymore, and not 28. Saba, You got me good when you ordered P to apologize for trying to blow me up. Very funny! That picture is me inside a slice of agate at the Tucson Gem Show. You can probably see it bigger on my Facebook page. Send me a friend request! Anybody! Especially Carmen and Stephanie K in SC/USA and anyone else in North America so we can talk about where we can procure products related to Sue.

Rosemary Powell, search Facebook for Creative Expressions and Sue Wilson. I know of two. One is for fans in the USA, but I don't think you have to be in the U.S. Those pages are for posting your work inspired by Sue's dies, videos and blog. They have rules against mentioning retailers though.

Carmen, I can't find double sided sticky paper or acetate at the North American distributor. Found acetate at the convention.

Suzzette Yandle, that's double-sided mounting foam, or double-sided mounting foam tape, I think. I sometimes use the fun foam sheets they sell in craft stores for kids. It comes in lots of colors, and some are sticky on one side. You can cut pieces from a color near to that of your card stock, and add your own adhesive. They're usually thinner than foam tape or pop dots, but you can stack them, again adding your own adhesive.

Happy anticipation, everybody!

Love,
Donita in R.I., smallest state in the U.S.

Pam - your management's treatment of you is disgraceful. I too would say that would be constructive dismissal and as other have said, you should see your union & Personnel Manager immediately.
Maureen & Saba - so sorry I forgot to thank you yesterday re the dentist. The butterflies in my tummy were not helped by being kept waiting 15 minutes past my appointment time and because of the injections I had nothing to eat from breakfast until some soup at 8pm! Not my preferred way to diet lol.

Hi Sue
What a gorgeous card - whoever wins will be soooo happy - the stained glass dies are so beautiful and so many different looks can be created - love em x
Well hobble and wobble are on their way back to the Promised Land. Lovely having them here -just wish I had been feeling more 'with it'. Never mind. They are planning another visit in September and God willing here for Christmas. My dad took the boys out for dinner last night. Bless - I think they ate their share of their inheritance. Lol. Don't think my dad realised how much they can put away in one sitting x
Feeling much perkier - finally the fibromyalgia is easing. So the fatigue should ease and the nights should not be quite so sleepless x
I will be having a catch up with Laine tomorrow evening. Going to tell her to get her bum into gear and get back on here. I know absence makes the heart grow stronger but I think she is milking it now. Lol x
Pam - sorry for everything you and yours have been through over the last few weeks - tragic. Those boys sound like a couple of wonderful young men - proud of them. As far as those imbeciles at work are concerned you need to keep a detailed diary. I would recommend phoning ACAS. They are incredibly helpful and can arm you with all the correct information and the right words to say. And the most important thing is that whatever they say to you, insist that they confirm it in writing or by e mail and print it off. If you have hard copies of all their verbal stupidity it will really help. So much better than he said she said/your word against theirs. It is all so unnecessary and makes life so miserable - big hugs x x x
Elaine - Maureen is responsible for a lot more than she admits to - she has a very wicked streak running right through her from top to toe. Hobble carefully x
Maureen - how is the Marathon training going? Hope you aren't picking on poor George too much x
OK folks - as you can see I am feeling much better. I cannot tell you how excited I am about tomorrow's launch. Have already pre ordered more than I should have done but won't reveal the true figure as I am in denial!
Sending loads of love to everyone - specially all my lovely blog besties x
Take care

Good afternoon lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

What a truly fantastic card to gift to one of your adoring devotees,,,,,i know that we cant quite see the true magnificence of the polished silk glitters but that doesn't matter one jot because the composition of this card is tremendous...oh how i wish that I hadn't been so foolish with my money this week, then i could have invested in the Indonesian Collection:-( Having said that, maybe I should utilise my obvious persuasive charm on she who holds the bank card ie my Mum, after all, God loves a trier...and a cheeky, greedy one at that!:-)
I cant adequately express just how super excited I am at the prospect of a week long pleasurefest of reveals dedicated to your Christmas dies. I LOVE Christmas with a passion and HATE it in equal measure for its commercialism, however, what I truly adore about it is your Christmas dies and making loads of ornate, glittered cards....I bought every die in the collection last year apart from the Christmas Angel, excessive?Moi? I could quite cheerfully have our Christmas Friday Cards every week of the year, they fill me with unbridled joy and excitement so goodness knows how my delicate constitution will cope with four offerings per day over the space of a week!Phew! Roll on tomorrow i say!:-)
Well my dear friends, excuse my lengthy absence, I do hope that I didn't worry any of my buddies unnecessarily...I'm sure that my ego can't take the grim reality that no one noticed my absence so I will continue to delude myself that somebody cares:-)
Ive had an up and mainly down time of it lately and wasn't in the frame of mind to be blogging, I did pop by on a regular basis though just to check that everyone was okay, besides, I can't let a day go by without seeing what glories Sue has to offer. I feel that I have let the side down though, the blog numbers are falling and I was contributing to that figure so I can only apologise for my disappearance and promise to make a bigger effort in the future because Sue deserves to know how appreciated she is.
Pam, I am so sorry for your recent loss, not to mention the fact that your work are still making life difficult for you. Please pay head to the excellent advice given by our buddies who have your best interests at heart...I just wish that the same could be said of your Manager!
P, oh how I have enjoyed hearing about the indomitable Yeti, he sounds like a real character:-) What you need is a good set of body armour or combat gear when you engage with him, his living conditions are positively palatial and I am glad that he has found a loving family, he so deserves it!
Elaine, boy you've been in the wars! Life hasn't been easy for you of late with your ongoing family health worries, but you really have to stop trying to keep up with our resident nutter Maureen on those Zimmers because we've seen the kind of damage that can cause!:-)
Maureen, what a bad influence you are lady! Myra was right to warn us about you! You and your hairbrained schemes...synchronised swimming in knitted costumes??!!? , i am shocked and appalled at the thought of it, imagine all those sagging gussets, ewwwh!
Sorry, have to split this peepsxxx

Round Two

Myra, how have you been coping lately duckie? What with Maureen wreaking havoc wherever she goes it must be tough being her career:-)
All i can say is George is a positive saint of a man...even if his abilities with a hoover and feather duster leave a lot of room for improvement. Are you part of this swimming team too? I myself have a dreadful fear of the water and have never learned to swim so I would be worse than useless...such a shame because i would have added youth and glamour to the proceedings:-)
Carmen, have you missed me? I bet your life has been a sadder lonelier place without my input:-) I see the Kid has been in hospital, I do hope that he is recovering well and hope that his health worries are at an end.
Yvonne, do i have to speak with you tomorrow? It just so happens that i have relished the break from your incessant whining and I don't know if i can be bothered humouring you anymore....cant you phone Maureen instead, you both have so much in common?:-)
Remember to get the Tena Lady out in preparation for tomorrow s launch, wouldn't want any nasty accidents now would we?:-)
Saba my lovely, i truly believe that you are the only sane one in the Gang of Nine....apart from the rope fetish that is! Please restore some order because M&M are running amok:-)
Well, that's all folks, sorry if I havent mentioned any important news but my memory is challenged enough doing menial daily tasks! Hope everyone is well, hugs to missing friendsxxx

Love and crafty hugs

Hi Sue
Stained glass fascinates me I can spend hours looking and studying it and always do whether in churches or houses. So your collection of dies has an appeal.
Just need to buy some!

Lovely! Yes, I can see the glitter in some of your photos. I think your idea of cutting the background die two times 1/3 the way through to make a larger backgound is an awesome technique. You certainly think outside the box. Thank you for sharing your ideas.

Hello Sue.

Beautiful Card. I love the Stained Glass Dies for some reason the Indonesian Background didn't register with me before but I have seen it used a few times recently and it is now on my shopping list. I can imagine the sparkle, it looks lovely. Thanks for sharing.

Best wishes

Apologies for not leaving comments over the last few weeks. The holiday was fantastic but so tiring and then I only had two days to get washed, ironed and repacked for my husband and son to go away! I'm also looking after my friend's house while she's away and I no longer drive or walk very well so it takes ages. I have been looking at the cards you've produced each day though Sue and I have to say they just get better and batter. I wish I had half your talent instead of the fibro fog I live in. Whoever wins today's card will be so thrilled and I can't wait for the festive dies I've ordered to arrive and also see what you do with them.

Having read many of Pam's comments I see that there has been a lot going on while I've been away. Thoughts and prayers to all. Pam you definitely need to keep a diary of what's going on at work and don't forget that ACAS will also give help and advice and also intervene on your behalf if your union can't get anywhere. We had to involve them with my daughter's employer over her ill health and they were really helpful.

Happy crafting.

Hello Sue,
What a beautiful card! I don't have any of the Stained Glass ones as yet but have thoroughly enjoyed seeing what everyone has done with them! I'd forgotten about the crystal glitters technique although I have done it in the past! It's so effective so I can well imagine that the photos aren't doing this beauty justice. Thank you for offering it as the Give Away!
Looking forward to Christmas in the morning!!! I have looked at what is coming up and I rather like a couple of the Stained Glass ones in the Christmas Launch.
It's a lovely day here today and quite warm. Maybe summer is coming! I won't get over-excited though! This is Britain after all! Lol!
Pam - so sorry about your work situation. I'm not in any way qualified to give you advice so I'll just send you a hug instead! x
Laine - it's lovely to see you ! I missed you a wee bit! Ha ha!
If I were Maureen's Carer she'd probably be worse than she is now! She is bad enough at it is! I'm afraid though it's Saba who starts everything off and we get the blame! I hate the water and swimming - I don't mind the shower !!
A very sad day in London once again! So sorry! Thoughts and prayer with those who are injured , their families and those of the deceased and those not yet accounted for! So proud of our Emergency Services! They are being tried and tested!!
Take care Everyone ,
Love Myra xxx

Hi Sue,

Beautiful card, great technique, love the colors. Thank you for sharing and for giving us all a chance to win this beauty.
Good luck everyone!
Looking forward to the Christmas blog launch tomorrow.

Pam – Unbelievable! Sorry for what are you going thru.
Elaine - You need to look after yourself and be careful with Maureen. Glad to see you didn’t lose your sense of humor. You are an admirable person. Sending my hugs your way.
Rebecca - Happy B-day! Hope you have a lovely day.
Yvonne – Welcome back.
Laine – Look who is back! Twice? It is more than anybody could wish for. Are you going to come back tomorrow or next month? Who can be sad with Maureen, Myra and Saba around? You know I didn’t miss you, why should I? :)

Hugs to you all,

Hello Sue,
What a beautiful card today, the technique is fantastic.
Looking forward to the die release tomorrow. Have you been reading my mind, I keep saying that I'm going to start making my C cards!
Pam, I am lost for words at the callous treatment of your Manager. I'm glad that you stand up for yourself and like Myra, I am not qualified to give you advice, but other ladies on here have given some good advice. The twins are to be praised for their wonderful words on the wreath.
Yvonne, I cannot believe you are back pet. It's lovely to see you but please keep your ramblings to a minimum. I wondered why the bunting was out - your parents are returning home!
Laine, It's especially nice to see you. We do miss you - not a lot ha ha. Enjoy the long mind numbing talk with Yvonne tomorrow, can you not go out and miss her? By the way, I don't need a droopy wet knitted bathing costume to have a saggy, soggy gussett - ask Saba ha ha.
Elaine, I've been out without any walking aid!! Entirely by accident as granddaughter was late for an appointment and I sort of stumbled into the car, George took us, pushed us out and drove away and I was stood standing, not knowing what to do!!! However we managed and he came to pick us up when she had finished. I'm rather proud of myself, goodness knows what the physio will say, probably give me a gold star!!! How are you, have the aches and pains lessened? Hope the family are well.
'P' thank you for liking me, is that because I have your photograph? ha ha
Carmen, how is the Kid.
Fluffycat, bet you're glad the dentist is finished - until the next time!!!
love to all on another tragic day for London.
Maureen xx

Laine - just wanted to say Hi before all the excitement starts tomorrow. Sorry you've been having a tough time, let's hope PP cheers you up with the chat as she too is somewhat chipper now.
Yeti quite a********e this a.m. - have a grand scratched hand. Not his fault as he's had a really tough time being chased away from more than one place, so he's ultra wary - as am I lol.
Maureen - it's not because, it's despite! Orange (actually coral my dear) missing from my vocabulary not to mention wardrobe.
Another sad day for London.
Hugs.

Evening Sue,

The stained glass card is so beautiful, I will try the techniques one day.
Panto costumes and the garden seem to be taking quite a chunk out of my free time these days. I though I would have n-more time to do as I liked when I finally retired but...no, that doesn't seem to be the case.

Pam....please see your Personnel or HR dept... words such as those your manager said to you are not acceptable in this day and age. I, for one, would mention reporting your breathing difficulties, as a leverage point, to the Health & Safety bods during the conversation.

Healing prayers and squashy hugs to all in discomfort, pain or loss. Please know that there are many shoulders out here for you to lean on.

Love 7 hugs
Cheryl xxx

Good evening Sue,
Such a lovely card and someone is going to be very happy indeed. Very clever to elongating the Indonesian background like that, mine has been ordered today and I can't wait unti it arrives. So looking forward to tomorrow and seeing just what beauties you have in store for us, you really do light up our lives, something desperately needed at times, today especially.
Good luck to everyone in the draw.

Pam I am speechless, I know you won't take this bullying and abuse from your manager lying down, we are all fighting your corner, go give it to em girl!
Frances there is nothing worse than being kept waiting at the dentist, next time you have butterflies let them out and stick them on a card lol.!
Yvonne, don't you start, Newcastle is not, I repeat not, the promised land, I know this being a Yorkshire lass. Hope Hobble and Wobble got home safely. Glad you are feeling less tired.
Lorraine I am cocker hoop to see you back! And you are absolutely right, I am the only sane on amongst the naughty nine, do. not believe a word either Maureen or Myra say to the contrary. You will never guess what today's decision was. We've decided we would like to be bears, goodness knows where we will get the costumes.
I just cannot comment on Maureen soggy gusset, I'd like to enlighten you but best not!
Love and hugs for all, special prayers for those affected by today's awful tragedy

Hi Sue. WOW, WOW , WOW !!! Your butterfly stained glass card is GORGEOUS Sue !!! This is one of my old favourite techniques, using acetate and polished silk glitter, and you have made me want to start playing with my glitters again. I have recently got this die but I have not used it yet ( still making Fathers Day stuff.) I am going to have a go after this weekend though !!!
Sorry I have not been around for the last three days but I developed a nasty dose of Vertigo. I could not even move my head as the whole world was swimming around me, I had blurred vision, nausea and headache and I just could not do anything. So glad it finally seems to have become a bit better today.
I really love the Indonesian collection, especially the background die. I have not bought any of them yet but I certainly will at some point. I love all the colours you have used on your card today and the little butterflies are so cute too, finishing your card beautifully. Thank you for sharing. Sending lots of love to you Sue. I am looking forward to seeing your stunning cards in your new Christmas die launch tomorrow, well actually today now !!! Take care Sue love Tres x x x

Sending lots of love to everyone from Tres x x x

I really am new to your site and your way of doing things. Love you and your videos. Us girls play a game sometime when watching your show. Every time you say pop we take a sip of wine. It is great fun! I'm from Alberta Canada and just ordered your Humming Bird die from a great store called RR Scrapbooking in Edmonton Alberta Canada. The owners name is Reah and she promotes your products with passion. She is the one who told me about all your great tutorials. Just curious your cards are so big where do you find envelopes that size to mail them out? I know your very busy so thanks for all your time you spend making video.
