Best Wishes

Hello there my crafty friends! Today's card uses the Faux Mother of Pearl technique for the background.  I started with a piece of clear acetate and added some Cosmic Lacquer to it and used my finger to spread it all over the acetate. Ordinarily I would use pearlescent Mica powder next, but I decided to try it with Pixie Powders so I sprinkle on some White Pearl Pixie Powder and used my finger to mix it all around with the lacquer.  I added a piece of scrunched up tissue to the back and set it aside to dry.  I trimmed it to size and then cut the Rippled Striplet and extended it,then cut it in half and glued the halves to the top and bottom edges of the background.  I wanted the background to be more open and visible so I created a spray of flowers across the card. I used the Chrysanthemum and the Striped Nasturtiums to create a bunch of different looks in both white and blush card.  I added the flowers across the card with a sentiment flag.  The card was completed with white and blush mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Happy Friday Sue, lovely card to welcome the weekend. It's a stunning card. Saw your new launch preview, so exciting.
Elaine, I can't believe it us a year since you told us of Andrews massive surgery. He has done well over this terrible year, he has shown strength and courage and you and Heken have been side by side with him. So sorry that ohms memory is failing, you have a lot on your plate, take care of you too. Hope Andrews scan results are better.
Happy belated birthday wishes to June H and Jan, hope you had a lovely day ladies.
Judy we will build up to yours on the 31st. It is my daughters birthday tomorrow, the twins have done their shopping for her, gives them something to concentrate on. I saw their Daddy last night, he was going to meet three of his dad's friends, he looks very drawn poor lad.
Carmen, , thank you for update on the Kid, let's hope for good results and that he is pain free today. It is very hard on you all as you are so close to him.
Pat, hope Mr L us making good progress.
Hugs to all, my daily good wishes to poorly and missing friends. Laine, worried about you Hun x

Morning Sue. Firstly, the festive season sure starts early in CE Land and what a gorgeous feast we're in for, guess who's also seen them ? Lol blame starts early here but what the heck Sue, gives 6 months to save for - right ? 😉
onto this absolutely gorgeous sample, I love how you try these backgrounds on our behalf, I wonder how many more talented crafters have tried this, of course it's not anything I'd think of having a bash at but will do now you've shown how beautiful it should look (should bring the operative word) !! The floral selection you've used is just so pretty, a lovely way to start my Friday, thank you.
Sending many love n hugs your way ☺ xxx

Dear Sue and Crafty Folk,

I love the flowers trailing across this card. Not sure I understand how to do the faux MOP technique, but it looks fab on screen and even better, I'm sure, in real life. Does the lacquer and Pixie go on one side and the crumpled tissue on the other? What holds the tissue on?

Also, it's amazing that you can get so much variety with just two flowers in two colors.

Lots to like in the 2017 Festive release. Glad you added to the Stained Glass selections.

Lets hope the weekend brings only pleasant surprises.

Love,
Donita

Thanks to everyone for their kind words yesterday. Elaine, I can't believe that it's a year since Andrew's operation, only the strongest of families could have dealt with all that you've had to in the last year. Carmen, thanks for the update on the Kid, please pass on all our good wishes to him. Hugs to all with special wishes to Pam and family. Sue xxx

Morning Sue. This is a beautiful card. The mother of pearl background is gorgeous. I did this technique on some of my christmas cards last year after seeing you demo it on tv with your stunning Deer Family and your Tree dies. They were beautiful and the family loved them. Such stunning flowers, the layout is lovely. This could be used for many occasions. I had a sneek peek at your new festive range yesterday and WOW they are stunning. So pleased you have done some Stained Glass Windows and expanded on your Snow Globe dies. Will have to start saving so i can get busy making cards for christmas. Have a lovely weekend Sue.

Hi Sue,

Just when I have run out of inspiration for a Wedding Anniversary card, what pops up on your blog?.... a gorgeous creation.
Have not tried the MOP technique yet so today is play day with crafting. We are expecting a veritable deluge of rain in Somerset so what better time to play?

CraftySuetoo, commiserations on your redundancy, it's not a pleasant thing to happen. When you are ready, maybe it is time for you to look around and see if there is anything else you always wanted to do. I took my redundancy time out to go to college and take a couple of courses in Computing, the Eclait and a brush up course on my typing skills. Then I applied for my dream job of medical receptionist and to my surprize... I got the job! They were impressed that I had changed tack and improved my skills and had the courage to do so.

Gentle hugs and healing prayers to all in discomfort, pain and loss. I wish for you day to become kinder to you.

Love 7 hugs
Cheryl xxx

Good afternoon Sue and the Wilsonettes,
I do like the openness of this card that allows all those beautiful flowers to cascade their way across it, each of them different and beautiful in their own way. But Sue why torment me with the beautiful blush card that i love when i can't get any anywhere. It is such a soft pink and was a much go to for me when doing not just baby cards, but big girls pink cards as well. I bought the baby pink but just don't like it as it is too sugary for me, oh well please try and persuade your other half that we want it back pretty please. A lovely card for a lovely day thank you flower for another beauty to behold.
Well this week has just been one of those weeks where because of lots of things i have been so very, very tired and slept so much. I had Harry on Tuesday when i had to go to meet my friend Di in at Stirling(i think it is so that for at least one day of the week i go out of the house ) and it turned from a tiring sore day into a happy if still sore day. When going back for our second coffee i met one of my Inspectors that i used to work with and haven't seen for 7years, i didn't get the chance to say goodbye to them when they retired me off on medical grounds. Mike when you got to know him was a lovely man and so it really made my day to get a cuddle from him. He has got married to his long time girlfriend since i left and having done his 40 years service is now semi retired which gives him a lot more time for his golf, lol. A lovely day and one that really perked me up. I've had Rory at Larbert Royal Hospital to have a scan off his heart and a tracer put on for 24 hours. He has a very slow heart rate that their machine couldn't pick up without him holding his breath for a period of time and letting go so that it went mad, so i need to wait until the doctor gets back his results as to what happens next. I don't why i bothered taking him into college today as he phoned at 11 to say that was him finished for the day. He is supposed to have a 4 week segment and a 6 weeks segment to be done on his course but with all the mucking around and lack of lecturers these parts of his course hasn't materialised which mean s that after a year of doing this course none of them can pass it as they haven't been able to do these important segments so would need to resit the whole course which is unfair when some of the students have put so much into the course to go on to the next year and now can't because of the lecturers.
Oh Pam flower, those poor children both grandchildren and that wee 12 year old. My beloved daddy used to take me to the vintage engines as there was just something so magical about watching and seeing nuts and bolts becoming such a wonderful sight that you could touch and feel. The other thing about them though was that they were all metal made and heavy pieces of serious machinery and not something that you would want to have an accident with. His poor son will be devastated as that is no age to lose your life at, you have too much still to live for and do. Sending my hugs and my prayers to you and your family flower.
I've played hunt the stamp this morning that i took off the acetate sheet to use in a card that i am making for my friend to give to her neighbour and it was there one minute and gone the next. Please tell me that there are others that have this same problem and hunt everywhere two and three times? I finally found it an hour later, it had stuck itself to the back off my trimmer and i had put it back where it goes so stamp had went with it.
Ok i will go and leave you all in peace but my hugs are coming to each of you,
love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)
