Textured Mask Overlay Card

Hi bloggers!  I was having a bit of a play with Texture paste and Pixie Powders and I just loved the result.    I thought I would share it with you in this video and you'll want to give it a go too!

The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Lovely card Sue, gorgeous. Julia's shows last night were fab, she showed so many new ways to use your beautiful dies, lovely demos. Either Dave Bradford is getting taller or Julia is shrinking but doesn't she look so well.
Kitty have a wonderful holiday. Alison, hope you are rested after your journey. Would have loved to see the Minky whale pod, so graceful.
Patricia, welcome back, hope you had a great holiday.
Elaine, I too would like to see the new you, hope Darren can get a photo posted for you, although I liked the old one too.
Diane, good news the fingers are a little better but they won't be if you keep catching them, take it easy.
Carmen, hope your internet is working now, hiw us the Kid doing.
My little men dud very well yesterday, they looked so grown up, they were very quiet last night but I think it was a lot to take in for them. It is such a traumatic event especially the way Rob died. He would have been so proud of them. Thank you all for your concerns and caring thoughts, it really does help.
Daily hugs to all poorly and missing friends always in our thoughts, hope you are all doing okay.

Hi Sue. Intrigued comes to mind, so I'm chomping at the bit waiting to watch what you got up to when putting this lovely sample together. I'm still playing with my Pixies and I'm still not sure what to think, I really am a sucker for delicate 'soothing' colours so that side isn't quite working but looking at so many cards on fb and what you show us, everyone makes the most lush backgrounds etc, whereas mine looks like Cassie has upchucked on a piece of my cardstock !!! So perseverance is needed on my part I think.
Things are moving here, so I'll send my love n hugs and go unlock the door, wave my 2 off and watch your inspiration xxx

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, a beautiful sample today and interesting video.

Pam I reiterate everything you have said above. Also I just thought I would say and that although I have never met you or your grandsons, I feel very proud of them for how they were yesterday, it is never a nice thing to go through and at such an impressionable age too, so give them a special hug. Hope you are OK.

I too watched Julia's show last night and again watched it this morning, some interesting techniques there and very good advice.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Morning Sue, a lovely lacey card today. Like Stephanie, I don't have much success with 'messy' crafting as I call using texture paste etc. But, maybe I should persevere more. I've only just about mastered using gilding flakes so now they're on most of my cards.lol Hugs xx P Austen

Hello Sue,

Lovely card today, gives the impression of a faux stained glass window. I've just started using Pixie Powders so this is another interesting way to use them, something that I will have to try. I always find your videos so informative and you really explain things so well.

Hope that you have a nice day. The weather here is so unbearably hot so that's the perfect excuse to craft.

Really beautiful...love the powders and will give this technique a try. I think I'll also try the powders with some deco transfer gel, too, that dries shimmery and clear. I found some black foam tape and foam squares that I like to use on projects using black cardstock. I used to take a marker and color the edges of the foam tape that can be seen from the sides, but that wasn't fun to do.

Great video....thanks so much.

Gorgeous card design. Yes, I will try this technique of the clear texture paste and those lovely pixie powders. I picked up something today that I have not seen you use on your cards before now. You may have used this product before and I missed it. You used some mounting foam core. I am familar with foam core but not mounting foam core with a sticky side to it. I think using this mounting foam core is brilliant to give a greater depth to one's card design. Thanks for the great video.

Hi Sue, a lovely card (if a little dark for me) and my first thought was of a new stained glass technique. Like the way you created the background with both texture paste and pixie powders to add dimension and although I don't have either, I think I can use your idea of a raised acetate/diecut panel over a piece of perhaps alcohol coloured card to achieve a similar effect. Thank you.

Hello Sue
I love this card and I really enjoyed watching the video. So much so I got out my pixies and some clear embossing paste and spent a happy hour playing " let's copy Sue". I think I need more practice lol, most of mine went in the bin! I also enjoyed watching Julia today and have finally succumbed to a few of the Indonesian collection and the Lily of The Valley sneaked into my basket too. Resistance was futile once I'd seen all the lovely samples she showed. So now, I'm broke, and have pixie stained fingers into the bargain.

Pam, Dave Bradford said he had lost a bit of weight that's probably why he looked so tall. Glad the boys coped well on such a difficult day for them.
Crewe Trish, it's a difficult decision as to whether really young children should attend or not. When I lost my beautiful sister last year two of her little ones were six and eight and they chose to go and in some ways they coped better than her older grandchildren who understood more. I'm sure you make the right decision. Big hugs.
Oh Elaine, as if you haven't got enough to cope with hope you get a more comfortable sleep tonight and hope Andrew is well enough for his surprise trip away.
P- that is really not nice of you trying to blow Donita up! Say you're sorry!
Yvonne it's lovely to see you back, hope you are soon up to full steam ahead. Please tell Laine we miss her too when you speak to her. Maureen, how many times do I have to tell you? It's Yorkshire which is Gods own county, it's official, and we even have hymn to prove it.
