Swimming By To Say Hi

Good Sunday morning all!  Today  I am sharing a fun card that has been made to look like an aquarium.  I started with the background and used the Ocean Waves Pinpoint embossing folder on a piece of white card.  I used a soft blue pencil to add a light bit of colour to some of the flat areas of it.  Next I cut out the fish from the Underwater Accessories set and used the Fishbowl Friends clear stamp set to stamp the detail on to them.  I coloured them with Distress Markers.  I cut a bunch of the different seaweed dies from the Fishbowl die set, using varying shades of green. I glued all of the pieces of seaweed to the bottom of the embossed card and added in some seashells and a couple of seahorses too.  The fish were glued to the background in the middle of the card.  I cut out the sentiment and added it to the upper portion of the background.  To create the look of the aquarium, I used the Double Pierced Noble Rectangles and made a multi layered frame from white card.   I embossed a piece of acetate with the same Ocean Waves folder and glued it to the underneath edge of my frame so it gave the look of bubbles coming up.  I added the frame over the background with mounting foam.  Simple white mats were added to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  9" in size.

The winners of this week's Comment Game are:

Jackie Durrant!!!
Kiraneries!!!
Maureen Killen!!!

Congratulations all!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize.  All for now, Sue x

Beautiful card Sue. So relaxing watching the fish.
Congrats to comment game winners. Enjoy your prizes, especially our lovely Maureen.
Elaine, hope the pampering session from Darren went well, you will now be a new woman, enjoy.
June, what a horrendous journey, but lovely you all got together to give your Aunt a good send off. I am the oldest on both sides of my family now, scary. Saba, I was the oldest of 6 when my mum died, my baby sister was just 13 months old. It was a very hard time, my lovely Nanna was our saviour . But we got through it eventually, still miss her 52 years later.
Maureen you are a tonic, should bottle you and give out on the NHS.
Rosemary, so happy to hear you say your crafting helps, think we all think that too. Well done your husband.
Crewe Trish, hope you and Mum are doing okay. It's the twins paternal grandads funeral tomorrow. Even though their dad said they don't have to, they are insisting on wearing black ties as a mark of respect. I so proud of them, 13 and like little men.
Happy Birthday, Yvonne's Dad, have a lovely day. Yvonne, hope you are feeling better.
Laine, seriously worried about you, please let us know how you are. Patricia, missing you too Hun, hope you are okay.
Daily hugs to all, poorly and missing friends especially.

Hiya Sue. It's a great way to start the day with a smile, and this fun sample sure did that ☺ it's a simple but wonderful idea to design this collection, how many times have we as parents cut and peeled a carrot to distract tiny minds until the pet shop opens after school drop off lol I'm one of those receivers that's for sure, we even had a black fish actually jump out if the fish bowl many many years ago, so back to the pet shop lol. You could make so many Nimo's form these little guys, imagin the smiles on young children's face, how sweet that would be.
So I'll finish by congratulating the winners, and send much love and many hugs your way Sue hoping your day also starts with a smile 😊 xxx

Dear Sue and Sunday Stampers,

Love the embossed water and bubbles, the assorted seaweeds, the fish and seahorse. Thank you for showing us everything all put together.
Thank you, also, for the giveaways. It's so exciting, and you make so many people happy. Wendy Killen, I'm glad you won. I hope you'll tell what your prize is.
Stephanie Cotterill, you have a way with words.
And CraftySueToo, your banana fingers is a vivid image. I hope they get more useful as you warm them up. I like to say that early in the morning, my fingers aren't yet screwed into the right sockets.

Better go as I'm nodding off.

It's always your little touches that make the cards special, Sue, had to read again to see how you created the bubbles - inspired!
Elaine - how's the new you? What a lovely thoughtful gift from Darren.
Nice one, Maureen, good to see your name in lights and the other comment winners, too.
Julie - rural south Ceredigion, a few miles from Newcastle Emlyn, a bit quieter than Sketty! Got caught in the rush hour there once and took ages to escape. Nice for you to be near the Gower, though, do you ever manage an outing??
Copy-catting Pam again, always nice words. Laine, missing you, please look in if you can.

Hi Sue
what a cute card today, the fish are gorgeous and the bubble acetate looks so realistic, I had to go back and read what you had done as I thought it was glitter on the top making it sparkle so much. What a treat for a Sunday. I'm struggling to type today as I trapped 3 fingers in the door yesterday, one of those silly accidents that happen so quickley and are so painful. Fingers not broken but badly bruised and stuck together with steri strips so no crafting for me this week (or washing up!). Enjoy your Sunday

Hi Sue,
Fantastic card today, I love it!

Diane, ouch! I bet that hurt! Lucky that they're not broken xx
Maureen - I'm determined this weight is coming off as I really do want the op asap! I'm going to the gym 3 times a week and I tried swimming last week too with the intention of going swimming on the other two days ( weekend off). Hit a bit of a problem there as I only like swimming breast stroke or life saving back stroke and they are no nos now! Having to reteach my body front crawl except when I was trying leg kick with a float I simply wasn't getting anywhere - then realised I was kicking from my knees instead of hips!!! I've never swam either of the crawl strokes since 1976 ( when I left college) and had forgotten how to do it! The fact that I'm a qualified swimming teacher went out of my head! Gave up and did backcrawl legs instead and did 14 lengths which wasn't bad for first time with a knee brace on. Hopefully next time I go , I'll manage frontcrawl and do more. My knee didn't hurt too much - was a bit stiff afterwards but ok. Anyway gym and swimming are off the schedule this week as we are going up to Scotland for the week, so it will be walking in the Cairngorms and going to Balmoral instead. I hasten to add I won't be hiking up mountains !!!!! Xx
Love and hugs to all, Alison xx

Hello Sue,
Love today's card. As soon as I saw it I thought of the Little Mermaid and started singing "Under the Sea", George ran screaming from the house!!!
Thank you so much to the machine which pulls the names from the hat!! Wonder what surprise I'll be receiving in the next week or so - excitement galore at the Killen Towers. Congratulations also to Jackie and Kiraneries.
Pam, thank you for your kind words. I do hope the funeral isn't too much for the twins and yourself. Oh I cannot imagine losing a mother so young and with younger siblings to care for. Grannies are wonderful people - although I never knew any of my grandparents - but yours certainly did a fantastic job, with your help I'm sure.
Rosemary, how kind of your husband and I'm glad that crafting is helping, and being on this blog is lifting you.
Alimecca, oh would you like to join the Synchronised Swimming Team. I am totally in awe of your achievements. Quite a few of us can't swim so we are rather stumped!!! Actually, the fish on today's card fit the Synchronised theme and I wondered if Sue had that in mind when making the card!! Do you think she would like to join us ha ha.
Elaine, the new "you" sounds great and the men noticed - a miracle in itself. I often disappear for a couple of hours beauty therapy and George never notices any difference lol.
Donita, if you are puzzled at our Maria's remark about Muriel she is referring to me, I have been called many things by quite a few people and always answer to them. I see I am Wendy to you today ha ha. It's such fun!!
Myra, you know I can be incredibly serious and miserable - mainly when I'm in your company ha ha.
Yvonne, hope dad has a wonderful birthday and mam is allowed some treats. Have a great time as family is all. Hope to see you soon.
Laine, hope you are just still busy and not poorly.
Love to everyone, I'm going to do a happy dance - very carefully!!!

Hello Sue,
This did make me smile when I looked at it! It's quite a picture! You are so clever to think of using acetate in this way! I'd never have thought of putting it through an EF! It's sooo effective! All the details are beautiful!
Maureen wondered if you thought of us when you designed it! Personally I think that's unlikely but if you can swim you'd be welcome to join! We were trying to think of a name and the Cosmic Swimmers was what we came up with!! We do need to get out more! Lol!
Alison - Alimeeca - we could do with a Trainer - are you up to this task?
CrewTrish - not an easy task to empty someone's home! Been there too and it's incredibly heartbreaking! I'm sure you are thankful it's over!
We have had some of the family here today so eight of us for lunch! Guess who is a bit tired now!
Pam - how lovely of the twins to want to show their respect to their Grandfather! It will be a hard day for them but they will be glad they did it.
Thinking of you all tomorrow!
Yvonne - Happy Birthday to Dad! I was a day early yesterday! Being ahead of myself isn't like me! Hope Dad , Mum , you and the boys have a good day!
Congratulations to all the winners - Kiraneries, Jackie Durant and the indomitable Maureen! Enjoy your prizes ladies!

Congratulations to the three lucky ladies today, I know Maureen is over the moon and expect Jackie and Kirenees are too. It was quite funny this morning, we ( the naughty nine) didn't want to spoil the surprise but were all dropping hints to prompt her to check out today's post.
Pam hope all goes well tomorrow, a difficult day for your SIL and especially the boys. So sorry to hear that you lost your mum so young, your Granny did a wonderful job of bringing you up.
Diane, the things you'll do to avoid a bit of washing up! My ironing is in the post to you.
P- I had a friend used to live in Llandysul, it's a beautiful part of Wales. How's Yeti?
Alison, we need you as our coach, I think we are probably the first synchronised swimming team with members who can't even swim and there are one or two who won't even go in the water!
Ooooh Elaine! Silver Grey, the most popular colour for a Rolls-Royce, not that I'm likening you to a car I hasten to add. Bet you look fabulous.
Crewe Trish what a hard upsetting day it must have been for you, big hugs.
Donita, there are many names we call our Maureen, I think Wendy quite suits her. Myra can be her tinker bell !
Laine and PP we are missing you both lots.
Love and hugs for all

Hi Sue. WOW What a fantastic card. The e/b folder is great, must get my hands on that one the bubbles look so real on the acetate. I can see so many cards being made with these stamps and dies the kids would love them but then i know a few adults who would love one as well lol. Another one of your wonderful cards that shows how your dies mix and match. Congratulations to all the lucky comment winners.
Best Wishes.
