Treasured Friend

Hi crafters!  It's a Fire and Ice sort of day!  I started by cutting the Atlantic Ocean Background out of coconut white card.  I covered the front of it with a sticky adhesive sheet and then rubbed Summer Meadow Gilding Flakes into the exposed areas on the back. I peeled the front sheet of backing paper off and coated it with Iced Snow. I used the inner cutting die and cut an aperture in the middle.  I added mounting foam to the frame to raise it for dimension.  I cut the inside die from the set into a piece of coconut white card covered with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I peeled the backing paper off and coated it with Iced Snow and added a piece of gold mirror card to the back.  I recessed the piece into the aperture in the middle of the card.  I stamped my sentiment and cut out the Cape Verde die as a frame for it.  I cut the Jessica die in white then cut it in half and added the pieces to the sentiment before seating it in the centre of the card.  I made a Chrysanthemum out of gold mirror card and seated it on a white satin ribbon bow in the corner.  I made a thin frame using the Double Pierced Noble Squares and added it to the edge of the card with foam and glue.  White and gold mats were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  7 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

So glad the Kid is doing well. Hi to him and he is welcome.
Work still hasn't said anything, their 20 working days to act in my firm must be up soon. Yesterday I heard they are making more moves over the weekend, I'm iff till Tuesday after today so hope it goes okay. There has been more comments re dust etc and anither colleague with breathing problems. Oh well.....

Back to you Sue, where would I/we be without your inspiration, probably having more luxurious holidays, but hey, metal lasts longer than holidays lol. What a gorgeous sample, absolutely beautiful. I know the whole range you've designed from day one have been popular but I've seen the most stunning works of art on the SWCE fb group using this die, words fail me sometimes Sue at what I see, and I'm always in the mind set that although I try really hard I'll never do your dies justice, not like a few ladies and the men I could mention, like your stunning samples when I look at them, I'm just speechless at times and envious (in a nice way) of the talent these guys show using your designs. I'm still a bit ooh ahh-ish regarding fire and I've but I really will give it another try lol.
So that's me done, all that's left to do is send my love n hugs your way treasured friend xxx

Dear Sue and the Fabulous Wilsonettes,

This one might sing to me more without the innermost, sentiment-bearing piece. To me, it spoils the look. The close-ups of the gilding flakes are so nice. And I never would have thought to try the chrysanthemum with mirror card. What a concept!

Thanks for clarifying, Maureen Killeen, what I had wrong about Ally Pally. What a nice thing to say! And, yes, Pat L, a transatlantic exchange would be so great! You guys come over here to visit, and we'll go over there. Now let's all get busy selling cards to buy the tickets!

Sorry, June Smith, that you lost your aunt.

Best of Fridays to everyone. Once more, a weekend with no unhappy surprises would be just right.

Love,

Donita

Saba , a hunky lifeguard and Maureen ???? the mind boggles , now i am worried lol.
Please keep up the banter it cheers me to read the antics you could get up to.

Myra, it would have been rude not to put more stuff in the basket, so pleased you had a good shop. xx

Crewe Trish , hugs to you and your mum .xx

Pam i hope the twins are coping well ,and i hope the dust settles before Tuesday for you.

Andrew has his Chemo today , his results had come through , he still has two cancer spots in the lymph gland ,they have got no bigger or smaller since the last results in October last year , his blood clot in the lung has gone however he still has to have an injection every day because the chemo can give you blood clots , and he has to continue indefinitely with the chemo as long as his body can take it . and another scan in three months
I was really hoping and praying for a better result , but Andrew says it is as good as can be expected .
We thank you all for your continued support and good wishes , it really helps to know so many care.
I read somewhere someone saying , some people never get to meet their idol , well i think i gave birth to mine.

Sending hugs to all
Have a lovely day

Hello Sue, love this card today, and the Chrysanthemum flower is gorgeous. I was given this die as a present but haven't cut it in gold mirri - something which will be corrected soon!!
Pam enjoy your days off and I hope the dust settles in more ways than one before you go back. They are definitely not on the ball with their feedback.
June S, sorry to read about your Aunt's funeral. The M25 is a nightmare and I've only been on it twice!
Elaine, sorry that you were disappointed with Andrew's results but his attitude is amazing.
Ladies, if you are interested - and if you aren't just ignore this - I am walking in the house without any aid!!! I resemble an old woman when I first start off but I am really pleased with myself. I've even dusted and hoovered today - eat your heart out Miss Havisham, come to think of it, I look like her!! ha ha
Yvonne, good to see you posting and I hope your energy levels leap up. Best wishes to the wrinklies from another old wrinly!!
Laine, missing you.
Maria, glad you had a lovely birthday and bought yourself some treats.

Great card, Sue, love your Fire and Ice. Like you, not particularly keen on mirror card, but just love the chrysanthemum made from the gold. Perfect.
June, so sorry for your loss - hope the M25 was kind to you. Been to funeral today of one of our ex village shopkeepers - chapel crammed to the gunnels with locals, and oh! the Welsh singing. He was such a lovely man.
Elaine - as always thinking of Andrew and sending hugs.
Julie Laz, pleased you had a good birthday. Lots of SW dies??
Ladies - especially Saba, Maureen and Naughty Nine, Mr P would perform a rope trick for a bottle of golden rum, probably. Though not suggested it, yet, ha ha!! As they say, be careful what you wish for!
Yeti now has fan club of three-and-a-half, but not counting. Rubbed against my wellies this morning - breakthrough.
Disturbing day re election.
Hugs for all who need one.
