Lovely card Sue, it's gorgeous. Congratulations Betty
Tracey, so sorry for all these problems. The power of attorney document is a good idea but it is expensive for some families. At HMRC we accept a firm called Deemed Carers Consent signed by the doctors. DWP may have a similar form. Has your dad got a social worker.
Tina and Mick good news that the babies brought such joy.
Elaine and boys hope all is going well.
Pat and Sarah big hugs

Congrats to Betty enjoy your card.

Thank you for the continued good wishes , i am pleased to say both my boys are home , Darren came home on Thursday evening and Andrew was allowed home yesterday teatime .This will make it so much easier for the caring and visiting as they live just 10 mins away from each other by car. Darren has a little pain that is expected from a double hernia and no way can he put his socks on but he is laughing about it.
Andrew has less energy than he had a week ago ,he is looking very weak and gaunt he has to go back to hospital a week on Monday to have the tube removed so we are hoping with good food and care he will be able to walk a little .

I hope you all have a lovely weekend
Take care and big hugs

Hi Sue, other Wilsonettes have called this card striking, opulent and dramatic. I can't disagree with any of the descriptions but I'm sorry, it is not for me (glad I am not the only one though). I love the dies you have used and the mica powders make a gorgeous background but it is just so .... black! I enjoyed yesterday's TV shows and am looking forward to this afternoon's, I am saving the ironing until 2pm so that I will get peace to enjoy it.

Elaine - glad both boys are home again but sorry that Andrew is struggling with his recovery. Hopefully being at home will help him improve.
Steph - hope your long journey home is not too uncomfortable for you and that your breathing is easier.

Betty Mc - Congratulations on being the Wednesday Winner, enjoy your beautiful card.

Good morning Sue and the Wilsonettes,
Well although this isn't a me card Sue, i would make it for my daughters mil as it would be chosen styling. There's too much black for me but hey you know that i don't do black but just a hint of it does me. I can see me trying this out for Marie the fact that i know she would love it and although i don't have this die, have another one of your lovely designs that i could use to achieve the same effect. Marie is like the men that we all know, so difficult to make a card for as she doesn't do frills, lace, bows or bling of any sort and it will be her birthday next month so hey that would be me all sorted for it. Thank you Sue for a great piece of inspiration that will go down well and have fun on the show today flower.
Well done Betty upon winning this weeks beautiful card, it is so beautiful in the white and beautiful shade of blue that it has peeking through.
Awh Tracy flower, how i know all about your frustration as mum and i went through the same with dad's various things and he just wasn't here at all in the last fortnight to be able to know who we were never mind anything else. Mum she did a power of Attorney form for me so that if and she did, go down hill i could see to her things but that was 9 years ago and it cost her well over £1000 but i don't know what else she had done to incur such a cost. Sending you and your poor wee dad some extra hugs, i'm thinking about you flower and i hope that you can take your dad home soon, where he wants to be as we didn't get that chance which upset both mum and i because we knew that was his dearest wish, to go at home in his own bed.
Elaine, i hope that your two boys are improving in their respective hospitals and that you get them home soon flower. Sending hugs to you and them and i hope that Andrew especially has turned the corner and getting back some strength day by day.
Tina, is Mick improving and more so now that he has two bonnie grandchildren that really need their favourite grampa to take them a walk in their prams. Sending hugs down to you and Mick, but i hope you are looking after yourself as well. Going back and forward to hospital can really knock arise out of you as well so please try and look after yourself as well.
Well i'm hoping that the lovely day that it looks at the moment will stay with us as yesterday was looked lovely one minute and came down cats and dogs the next. I have got an ill little soldier today which is not at all like Rory, he is never ill but he has been complaining of stomach cramps since yesterday afternoon, not having his dinner last night and then to end up vomiting endlessly during the night. We now have shaking stevens legs, dizziness and still not right so i am not letting him go out with his carer today, as i don't want him collapsing when he is out. He is right into walking at the moment when he goes out with his carers, at the least 3 miles ranging up to 6 miles depending on where they go. He asked to go up and around Stirling University grounds last week and the poor carer came back fair puggled as he just isn't used to that amount of time on his legs. Rory has always loved going around places like the dam up in Sauchie and nice walks where he can see all the different life that goes around, as i had him out walking with me and his sister from any age. I used to love going on a walk with them and half way we would call in at the cafe for a drink and maybe an icecream or ice lolly and then we would walk back home again. Mum used to do that with us so it has always been something that i really loved to do and its wonderful to see so many different things that you miss travelling in a car.
Anyway i will say goodbye and hugs to all who need, want or could do with
love and crafty hugs
Norah (glenochil)

Hi sue.
Fabulous card. I love the look of gilding but I get into such a mess I don't do messy!!! Lol but I'm loving ur shows lots of technique hint and tips. I'm so glad u share!!!

Well ladies. Dad didn't get home yesterday :-(
He now is struggling and his body isn't coping well when they remove the oxygen tubes.
They also told us we won't have long with him but how long is long I dunno. It's killing me watching him fade away and feel so useless even tho I'm doing everything I can I feel it's just not enough.
Thanks for all ur help yesterday regarding the power of autorney. I managed to dort out the last bank we just had to get dad to sign a special mandate.
As for the phone contract my sister called them and they cancelled it no bother. It just shows u it depends who u talk to. Mind u it was an ee person I got. I thought it was the same company that own both!
So all is good I can stop worrying so much about stuff an concentrate my time with him.
Thank u all for being there. This seems to be my outlet at the minute.

Thinking of all of u who are also having hard times I just forget to mention all the names as there are so many caring folk on the blog

Love to all xx

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Joy of joys, another video day to savour AND a two hr show to look forward to tonight....I Recorded it on Sky+ Earlier.....so I am a very happy bunny this evening, no more wall to wall football:-)
Today's card is just my cup of tea, I love black in a card and add to that the glossy top coat and I'm like a pig in s##t :-) I can never quite understand what it is that revolts so many of our dear Wilsonettes when faced with a bit of black cardstock, I personally find it classy, sophisticated, elegant and in today's example , both rich and opulent, but each to their own I guess:-) I have just spent a small fortune on mica powders of varying shades which would work really well with this design....just have to get the dies though, oh dear:-)
I've had a busy afternoon and couldn't catch your shows but no one will dare to interrupt me this evening, it's just you, me, a diet coke and some suitably calorific nibbles Sue, I'll be in my pjs watching from the comfort of my kingsize bed admiring your prowess.....you are so charismatic and presenting comes to you so effortlessly, you are a joy to watch and how lucky are we to have the pleasure of your company again on a couple of weeks:-)
It didn't escape my attention that some charlatan told the Hochanda presenter that they were your no.1 fan!??!? The cheek of it when we all know that I am your most loyal, dedicated and adoring fan, how presumptuous of them! They gave there name as Yvonne and that doesn't surprise me in the slightest because she is known to be pushy, gobby and totally deluded and making a wild statement like that on air is totally in character for her:-) despite the delusional belief in her elevated status she does have moments of clarity, she uses them to try to sully my character in the knowledge that I am her superior partner....sad but true.....but Sue knows better, she can't be bought with offers of sweet treats, she is far too honourable for that. In fact, Yvonne has an evil plan to sabotage my meeting with Sue at Ally Pally by giving her such a sugar high from her fudge that Sue is rendered incoherent and delirious....I offered to make something to satisfy Sues sweet tooth but was given short shrift, it seems she wants all the glory.....I will leave her to her games, it makes not a jot of difference to the fact that I am in pole position:-)
Tracy, you sound absolutely frazzled honey, hang on in there though you're doing a great job, it's the best you can do under the circumstances. I'm glad that you can use the blog as a release, that will really help you in the coming months. How frustrating to be told that your Dad doesn't have long.....does that mean days, weeks, months? My advice is to take each day one at a time and make it count. Sending you huge healing hugsxxxx
Maria, Theresa, this is a forum appreciating cardcraft not blood sports! Your lust for carnage between Yvonne and me is slightly disturbing even if it is well placed. I'm trying to foster a more amiable relationship will her in preparation for my visit and really don't appreciate voyeurs stoking the fire:-)
Pat, pay no attention to the rubbish you heard, Sue was laughing at the absurdity of the notion and you know the real truth don't you?:-)
Sarah is a little trouper, school so soon after her ordeal just shows how kids bounce back and we could do well to follow their examplexxx
Elaine, Glad to hear that Darren and Andrew are back home, wishing them a speedy recoveryxxxx
Hugs to nana Tina and Mickxxxx
Cuddles to all my blog buddies, off to watch Sue now, what bliss.......

Crafty hugs,

Laine1972xxxx
