Raised and Shadowed

Hello crafters!  Here is a really easy card that you can make using up some of those scrap pieces of card that we all have in our stash!  It is striking and quick too, so a double bonus!

The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

This is great male cardSue, love it.
Tina, so glad to hear that Mick is home. He will probably make more progress in his own environment, hope you are getting lots of help, don't want you falling ill.
I'm feeling better every day, I'm back at work but manager is very good. I think they have found finally found the reason why my breathing and coughing is still bad 5 years after the pneumonia, at last.
Tracey, sending caring thoughts for you and Dad.
Happy birthday Harry, 1 today. Hope you all have a lovely day Norah.
Hugs to all.

Pam good news that you are back at work but please take it easy, I too have viral pneumonia in 1989 and was in intensive care for a week before being flown home from Tenerife, I still suffer from breathlessness a lot now they think it is because of scaring.

Tina how good is that to have Mick home, he will I am sure come on in leaps and bounds now.

Tracey hugs for you and your Dad

Happy Birthday Harry,

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Hi Sue. Wow I love this. Yes it is different to your usual style but that's what a brilliant designer does, caters for all style of crafters. Since starting the monthly market it has shown me that not everyone wants or requires the full on cards so the CAS cards are equally as useful and even the plain and simple cutting frames that surround your beautiful striplet dies play a big part in helping make the CAS style cards as they give us the apature to add a plain and simple word or sentiment or just a single flower die or stamp, so simple but really effective cards like this are just as important as the extra special cards you inspire us with too.
37 years today I was full of nerves and excitement as at 3pm I was due to walk down the isle to start a new life with my new husband. I wonder if he would have turned up if he'd had any idea how addicted to metal I would have become lol so I'm really looking forward to seeing which die I shall get from him. His little message on his gift tag always reads ' bet you can't guess what this is !!!" Bless him lol.
On that note I will send you my usual hugs for the day and hope it's a good one no matter what your plans are xxx

Yay! Just noticed you are returning to our screens 😊
What a brilliant way to use up our scraps, as you have with today's card, it is a very clean and simple style. At first I thought what a fabulous male card but you could use it for males and females by just changing the colours. When I first saw these dies I thought they were just sentiment dies (which of course they are) but you have shown us we can do far much more with them. I thoroughly enjoyed the video thanks for sharing.

Hi Sue,
I LOVE IT!!! I'll admit that I was sitting here for a moment wondering how on earth you did it but once I watched the video, I realised that it was quite a simple technique but very, VERY effective. I think it's great for a 'man' card and would even work with shades of oranges and browns. I think it could also work very well for us girls too with a nice cluster of flowers and perhaps a hat pin. Of course, now I have to add even more dies to my wish list lol.

I'm ticking along very carefully. Got the concert with my best friend Saturday. Been packing a little each night, have my dark glasses and a special pair of ear plugs where I'll hear all the music but it won't be loud enough to set my head off. Mr started flapping a few days ago but he's just worried about me, my best friend has been briefed what to do and when if need be. I'm feeling a bit anxious about being on the train on my own as the last time I went to a concert with my friend was the last time I went on a train alone, 4 1/2 years ago. I've not really gone anywhere alone since then, but I'm sure chocolate will help calm my nerves (any excuse for chocolate) It might be the last time, I don't know, thought I'd already had last time so I'm lucky to have a great friend happy to be my PA as well as my friend for the day. Looking forward to it but will miss my 'little' dog. I'm only away a day and night but I'm so ingrained into being home with Billy it's going to feel very weird. If anyone saw the programme on channel 4 about training rescue dogs to help disabled people this is very similar to the type of training Billy did. I am going to be exhausted after so if I don't visit you all tomorrow or for a day or two after you'll know why, no need to worry bout me :-)
OK, Billy's garden time and early to bed. This has took quite a while (well over an hour!) so apologies if I missed anyone who blogged while I was typing.

Lastly tonight, Thinking of the family, friends and constituents of Jo Cox MP. A tireless campaigner who just wanted to make the world a better place.

Wishing you all a wonderful, crafty weekend. Sending smiles and hugs to everyone, there's plenty extra if you need one.
