You're Special To Me

Good Sunday morning all!  A serene, pastel offering for today!  I cut the Pierced Roses Mini Background in blush card.  I added a sticky adhesive sheet to the back of it.  Using a pastel green card from my stash, I cut the background again.  I trimmed it right to the edge of the die then removed all the fall away pieces except the leaves.  Next I laid it down onto the other one and gently pushed the leaves out of the die into the same spot on the original thereby paper piecing them into place.  A bit of straightening needs to be done, but generally it isn't too much.  I sprinkled Iced Snow into the remaining sticky adhesive areas and added a piece of white card behind the piece that was several inches longer.  I tied some white ribbon around the card just below the background and added a bow and crystal sparkler.  I cut the New Zealand tag out of blush card and backed it in white, cutting the centre out.  I stamped my sentiment and added the tag over it.  I attached it below the Rose background and completed my card with my usual mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  8 1/2" in size.

The winners of this week's Weekly Comment Game are:

Heather Treble!!!
fame01!!!
Lydia Jordan!!!

Congratulations all!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize.

Thank you for all the lovely Birthday wishes yesterday!  I had a great day, relaxed and spent time with family.  I opted to delay my birthday dinner out until during the week as I am not much for the crowds on weekends!  All for now, Sue x

Sunny Sunday smiles heading your way this morning Sue. It sure is an absolute miracle that we have gone almost 2 weeks without rain up here in Lancashire, so this morning's card combined with a warm sunny Lands spells Summer. The delicacy of the pastels, the beautiful rose die, the gentle hint of sparkle not forgetting the sheer purity of the ribbon with the gorgeous centre sparkler all adds up to a gentle, soothing wake up call to all Particraft lovers.
I think we all agree how weekend crowds can spoil a quiet night out, I don't know about anyone else but even Valentine meals out etc become a pain when they push extra tables into an already cramped room, add to the bill, plus give you 'sitting time' so you come away knowing everything about the couple at the next table, 30.00 worse off plus indigestion !! Lol so I don't blame you putting your birthday meal on hold, besides Sue, I'm sure there must be the perfect pizza takeaway somewhere near lol, enjoy your meal whenever and wherever you go, and as it will still be your birthday celebration you won't have to let calories stand in the way *wink wink* 😉
I'm already sensing excitement over the new festive collection so John really did need to help make way for these in the HOCHANDA warehouse and as June (I think) already said, he did a great job as always (our sky box is looking critical now) lol.
Well Sue, as usual I start out by trying to keep my comment to a minimum and yet again I've become Mrs. Ramble Pants lol so I shall bid you farewell, and wish you a beautiful sunny, maybe relaxing day doing what I'd love to be doing where you are right now ! Have a fun day Sunday xxx

Good morning Sue and the Wilsonettes,
I'm glad flower that you had a lovely birthday yesterday and my O.H. is the same about crowds when going out for dinner but that's because he is a crabbit, impatient old sod that can't seem to wait his turn to be served or moans about the noise etc because celebrity he is not. Have a lovely meal out wherever you end up lovely lady.
Oh todays card is so pretty from the pearls in the centre of the roses to the soft snowy back behind the roses. The crinkle ribbon gives it such a soft feminine touch, so delicate looking. All in all a simply beautiful card that anybody would surely love sitting upon their mantle. Thank you Sue for another beautiful card to make us think and love, have a lovely day flower.
Well yesterday was my ex sister in laws birthday, my neice her daughters and her grandsons 1st birthday as well. Now that wasn't well planned i think but there again there is no way surely that any of them should have their birthday missed. My brother in law is now on Mrs number 3 but i don't think her birthday coincides or i hope not, lol.
Congratulations to all of this weeks lucky winners, i hope that enjoy them as much as Sue did making the card or designing the prizes.
Hugs to Tracy, i hope your dad gets back home again tomorrow for you flower, Nanna Tina, i hope Mick is getting better bit by bit flower and you can see him making progress however slowly and to all Wilsonettes who need or could be doing with some,

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

This is one of my favourite background dies and as such it is part of my die family.....though, as yet it remains unchristened, ooh the shame!....I love paper piecing and this little beauty lends itself to this technique perfectly....thanks for the tip on die cutting in green then removing all the pieces barring the leaves prior to sticking.....the soft blush and pale green is a lush combination, and the addition of the sparkle makes perfection. How nice to see the return of the squiggly edged sheer ribbon and dazzler, lovely finishing touch. This will be entering my must do, will do folder forthwith:-) Thanks for the inspiration Suexxxx
I am definitely, and ashamedly remiss.....I was absent yesterday which proved to be a very special occasion and for that I can only apologise profusely. Any excuse would be lame given the circumstances, all I can say now is I am so sorry Sue for not wishing you a very Happy Birthday on your special day. You are a wonderful, kind, considerate, humble and generous lady who deserves to be totally spoiled and pampered for the occasion and I am pleased that you spent the day surrounded by those closest to you. Wise move delaying your meal until later in the week, it will be less busy and the food will no doubt be a better quality as a result. Hope you enjoy your evening outxxx Can I just offer Yvonne's best wishes also, I spoke with her and she informed me that she's having problems getting internet access at the moment and couldn't extend her congratulations herself:-( Fear not though, normal service will be resumed shortly and she will no doubt send you a private message......
The glorious weather is still with us, and as a result my craftroom is developing a thick layer of dust as I choose to sit in the sunshine rather than make cards....I do feel slightly guilty but we have so little sun and warmth combined in Scotland I feel largely vindicated:-) I do hope that my fellow Wilsonettes are enjoying some favourable weather because it really invigorates you and lifts even the blackest of moods.
Tracy, so pleased that your Dads operation was successful and that he may get home tomorrow. I feel for him having to take those drinks like Fortisip, they are hideous....I had many years of being force fed them when I was being tube fed and I could never develop a taste for them, hopefully the stent will allow him the mince and tatties he cravesxxx
Nana Tina, glad to hear Mick is brighter and managing to tolerate some proper food, have you had any luck with the wheelchair though, a little bit of sunshine would do him the world of good?
Maria, sending you loads of hugs my dearxxxx
Theresa, hope you are well honeyxxxx
P, how are the little kittens doing? Is Floozy up to her old tricks again or has her little op turned her into a lady :-)?
Wheely Bad, hope you're managing to keep those dreaded migraines at bayxxx
Sending huge cuddles to Beth, Pat, Pam, Rebecca, Jan, Lorraine, Linda, Lynda, Frances and my bestie Yvonne , not to mention anyone in need of a hug for whatever reasonxxxx

Hi Sue. Sorry I have not been around for a while lately. Life has been very hectic and I have really struggled to keep up with everything. Your card today is absolutely gorgeous !!! I love your pierced Roses background die so much I have been and ordered myself one today !!! I have just been loving all the cards you have been making with this die lately. I love the soft pastel colours you have used and I already have the fab New Zeland tag die so I am hoping to make this card when I receive my die. I really love some of the recent cards you have been making to. The Configurations card (Aqua and black) using the Milford adornment is amazing Sue !!! I am definately going to make this one to as I have ordered the Milford Adornment die just so that I can make this card !!! I really love the cards you have made using the New Zeland Collection dies as well, especially the card with the stunning New Zeland border and the gilding flakes. This one is Sooo gorgeous Sue !!! They all are. I cannot make them yet though as I am making two Fathers Day cards and decorating two matching paper bags to put little presents in. I usually decorate the bags with the same dies and colours but make a slightly different design. They go together as a set. I am using your beautiful mini striplet Intertwinning Circles. I am using foundations cardstock Bright White with Periwinkle Blue, Deep Blue, and Cornflower Blue. I am doing your filling in technique.
I am so sorry I missed your Birthday yesterday. I hope you had a wonderful day. Thank you Sue, for everything you do. Sending you lots of love and special Birthday hugs from Tres x x x

Hi Sue,
Only just catching up on blog posts today and surprised and thrilled to see my name as a winner. This card is so beautiful and the sentiment is spot on for me today, the thought goes to my lovely family but particularly my brother.
Thanks so much for all the inspiration,
Heather
