Shabby Chic Elegance

Hi bloggers!  I love this card as it is fun to get out my inner grunge every once in awhile!  Today's video shows you another way to create different looking flowers with the Sweetheart Flower die set too.

The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Such a lovely card, love the flowers, the sentiment is for you Sue.
Tracey, I hope Dad is more comfortable today, I can understand your feelings, don't worry about others being worse off, this is your family and it is hard, we will always be there for you, brave lady.
Tina, it will be wonderful to get Mick home after so long, it won't be easy but you will be together. Glad your daughter had a lovely birthday.
Elaine, how well Andrew is doing, he must have felt great being able to manage the walk, upwards and onwards Andrew we are all behind you and your Mum. Well done Natasha.
Happy day to all, hugs all round, especially our missing friends

As I was about to open Particraft, just thought....longing for some grunge - and hey presto! FABULOSO card, Sue, all my favourite colours and a great video - thank you so much. Really not a hint of grunge, just elegant shabby chic. Can you tell this is a total favourite lol?? Don't have any of the elements - yet - but could extemporise.
Am saving this for inspiration when crafting again. Big Town day today, so will look for cheesecloth in advance....
Pam always leaves such eloquent messages, so will just echo - with hugs all round.

Thank you all for the messages and prayers for Andrew ,he took another walk yesterday morning to the door and along the corridor and back so progressing nicely . When we got to the Hospital he was having a 20% blood transfusion the Consultants say the blood will help towards making him feel better and keeping the BP stable , and they say he will perhaps be in care for another week.
They did not do the intravenous drip yesterday because of the transfusion ,so thats happening today.
Thank you all once more and wishing you all a lovely day .

Good morning Sue and the happy band of Wilsonettes,
The black in this card just makes such a statement Sue and looks so right for the front. I know you've heard the nursery rhyme Mary, Mary, quite contrary well i'm Norah Norah, quite contrary although it doesn't have the same rhyming abilities to it, lol. I love the fine black border that you have sticking out, it's not too much and looks just so right in place. I'm not into the making my cards looks all tatty at the edges sorry Sue, it just doesn't go with my every thing being precise mind and i just can't seem to get it to look right to me, so i don't even try this anymore. Thank you Sue for a different card which i know i can use some of the ideas on it even if scratching the edges to make them tatty looking is one of them. Have a lovely day flower and i hope that the sun is shining for you where ever you are.
It is a lovely day here at Glenochil with the sun shining and hills so alive with their gorse, bracken and heathers. The patterns and pictures that they make up is fantastic but changes to each persons imagination. I love the beauty that these magnificent wonders of nature create. Rory half day at college today and tomorrow is his last day for this term before going into a more challenging course next year which will test him that i'm sure.
Sending hugs to Nanna Tina and Mick, oh that is good news Tina but i hope it doesn't wear you down too much coping with Mick all on your own. To Tracy and Dad, flower you have come through so much this past year and now your fighting to keep your beloved Dad, hugs are on their way to you and Dad. To Elaine and her handsome son Andrew, keep going Andrew we are all routing for you but here are some hugs to keep you going. To Tina E and her poor broken Claire bear and Toby, hugs on their way to you all to try and keep your spirits up and your faith in other human beings that can understand just what you are going through. Claire has acheived an amazing hurdle in the start of her healing process but she has such a long way to go. I hope that the hugs and prayers help Claire and Toby know that they are both thought of so very much. TO all the Wilsonettes that need, could do with or just want a hug they are there for you all,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

Hi sue and fellow crafters.
I so love ur shabby chic look. It's smashingly georgeous. Great video too.

Well ladies the bed at the beatson for my dad wasn't great today. They think the pain in his groin isn't arthritis but think the cancer may have spread further. He's to go for a bone scan in a few weeks to see what's happening.
Unfortunately as well the consultant says St the moment dad is not fit enough for any treatment including any drug trials. He's not eAting enough to get weight on. He's trying so hard and he's tired. So I'm hoping he doesn't give up altogether. He's got until the doc recalls him back to the beatson to try get s bit of weight on or it'll be a no go. They gave him liquid morphine away with him so I'm hoping this'll help control the pain.
I'm absolutely devastated :-(.

Hi Sue
How did I miss this card? I'm so sorry! When you do grunge you do it beautifully, I love the way you've made the background, I have this stamp and it's so useful but with the added muslin it makes everything pop! The flowers are gorgeous I usually use a brad but drying each flower before glueing is such a simple idea and is one I haven't tried so thanks for the idea. The swirl die is right at the top of my list it has to be the best I've ever seen.

Somewhat late in commenting but having only just caught the video............ Well, what a surprise and a pleasant one at that! There is grunge, grundge, and this that beats most hands down. Makes me want to run upstairs and try playing with the one piece of taupe coloured card I have in my limited stash. I meant to go up town yesterday and buy a notebook to make notes on the many techniques you, Julia and John us show us but forgot. After seeing this, I am more determined to remember, but at least I can come back and watch the video again. I don't have any of the stamps or dies that you have used but I am sure I can learn a lot from the techniques used so thank you so much for that!
