Happy Birthday

Good Sunday morning all!  I have chosen black, white and blush card for today's card.  I started by cutting the Australian border die without the outer cutting edge into the top and bottom edge of a piece of coconut white card.  I backed it with black card to show through the design cut out area.  Next I cut the Auckland die in white using just the outer decorative cutting edge.  I backed it with blush, then used the inner decorative die and embossed it into the centre rather than cutting it out completely.   I cut this in half and mounted the two straight cut sides flush with the edge of the card.  I cut a Melbourne die for the centre in white card and backed it in white for a tone on tone effect.  Next I cut the Happy Birthday Circle words in both blush and black card.  I glued them together slightly offset using the black as a shadow to the blush die cut.  I added them to the centre of the card then tipped them upward for a bit of dimension.   I added a pierced mat and matching thin blush and black mats and a wider white mat layer to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  9" in size.

The winners of this week's Comment Game are:

Alison Thorne!!!
Diane Green!!!
Yorks Butterfly!!!

Congratulations all!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize.  All for now, Sue x

Sunday smiles coming your way Sue. From warm beautiful blue skies to a cool autumn morning, from windows thrown wide open and gate at open back door, to heating back on - but we can always rely on you to bring us inspiration every day of the year and it absolutely amazes me where it all comes from.
As soon as this sample loaded the centre focal point just drew me in, it's such a potty that the blush card doesn't show how pretty it is but it's such a delicate pink and one of my very favourite pastels. One thing I love out of a long list is that some of the newest collection and those before have larger fall out's which makes it easier if only slightly, to paper piece, when you first started to show us that technique the fall out's were so tiny that my stupid fingers couldn't cope with it and as I can't even hold tweezers it became to frustrating to enjoy so I knocked it on the head, but this die is perfect to use for that technique (just a tip, white tac on the end of a tool also makes it easier to pick up small pieces of card if you are struggling as i did and do sometimes)
This is yet again a gorgeous card Sue, a card that would bring the largest of smiles to anyone that received it) I'm almost certain it will be replicated on the SWCE fb group by a certain talented member so I can't wait to see how many beautiful colours she uses to bring out the beauty of these dies.
Well done to all comment winners enjoy your gift.
Have a lovely day Sue whatever your day brings xx

We're just off to pick up my granddaughter to take her to the hospital. The doctor is going to induce her today. My first great grandchild should be born later today, or tomorrow. I'm hoping she weighs over 4lb. If she's smaller I shall have to find some smaller crochet patterns that are quick and easy. How exciting :-)

A card which really shows off the versatility of your dies, . You have cut them up (which I now do after watching your videos) & you have used them to emboss rather than cut which makes it look as if you have been paper piecing. I must admit I forget to do that with my dies. Thank you for the reminder Sue.

Good morning Sue and the Wilsonettes,
this is a lovely card Sue and that hint of black in the background is just right and shows the card off a treat. I do like that soft pink that you use as it's more a pale peachy sort of a pink instead of the bright sweetie kind of pink that some card stock is. I don't have any of these dies so sorry Sue, a replica is way off in the distance for me, but the Austrailian border is so so pretty when cut into cards. Thank you Sue for todays lovely WOW, i hope that you are having a lovely day where ever you are flower.
Congratulations to all this weeks winners and to my favourite toddler of our group, what a lovely extra surprise on top of your lovely holiday up my part of the country. Enjoy Diane when it arrives, i am so fair chuffed for you and your delated "birthday present". But to all the lucky ladies enjoy when your prize comes out to you, i am so please for you all.
Well today is going to have to be a very lazy day after yesterdays shenanigins at Harry's party for me today. It spitted a bit for a very short time but nothing really to ruin things as Kirstens father in law had went out and bought a very big marquee tent for people to sit in and the soft tiles down on the grass so that the babies could play. They had bought just last week a new 13 piece patio set that was a corner settee arrangement with 4 wee stools and two high backed chairs. They had bought a stylish gazebo to go over the top of it with sides on to that when zipped kept the wind or the cold out somewhat. There was a large Jake and the Pirates bouncy castle there for the children to play on but since there was only two children under 10 that was big enough to play in it and two that are teenagers who are past the bouncy castle stage as they are too old for it, well some one needed to tell all the dad's and grandads that little nugget as i seen more adults playing on it than any children or babies getting a wee bounce. I was trying to do the taking things out to people and tidying up as i didn't want to leave it for Kirstens in laws to do it all, but i am suffering today for all my time up on my feet. Also the fact that there was great gran and great grandad, with great, great auntie who had a whole lot of fun having extra cuddles at the wee fella. That was the only downer on the day was the fact that Harry was running a temperature and just wasn't right. His great grandad took him a walk in the pram to try and get him to sleep for a wee while as young Master Fox had been up since 5:30 in the morning and really needed a sleep. With there being so many of Ryans aunts and uncles as well as the old greats i left them to sit on the comfy chairs because i couldn't have got out of them anyway and it's the proper thing to do when you have people older than yourself wanting to sit. I had a hard time keeping up with all Harry's girlfriends that he has and 3 wee buddies that he has as well. A good day was had by all and that was the main thing that i was happy at. It was amazing the amount of babies that was there that were all born in September, it seems to have been a very popular month to have them, i think only one other was in August of all the babies there.
Anyway that was my news from yesterday so i will leave you all with hugs to all our Wilsonettes that could do with some, need some or just want some.
With love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)
