Thanks So Much

Good Sunday morning all!  There is a bit of a story to today's card that I thought I would let you in on.  When I first received the die prototypes for the bows, I was concerned just how they would post.  I was discussing this at the morning breakfast gathering that my Mom and I go to each day and one of the gentleman there suggested that I just post the card to him and see how it turned out.  He said he would bring it in with him to give back to me when it arrived, so I did just that.  In fact this card was also later posted from Florida to my daughter's in California (when she was living there) and I picked it up from her when I stayed in January.  Then I photographed it.  None the worse for wear I would say!  I did throw it together in a bit of a hurry as I didn't want to spend too much time on it in case it didn't survive! LOL  All in all not too bad of a card and I was really pleased with how it looked after it's world travels (it also flew back to the UK with me in my suitcase too!)  I embossed the white background using the Tied Together embossing folder and matted it with a periwinkle blue mat.  Using the same blue, I cut my focal element background using the outer die from the Valencia die.  Atop that, I added the Murcia die cut out of blue card but backed with white to show through the design.  I stamped my sentiment from the Bold Sentiment set by Creative Expressions and cut it out with the Decorative Frames Set B from the California Collection.  I used a coloured pencil to add a bit of shading to match my card and placed it in the centre of my focal element.  I cut a 3D Lattice Bow out of white card and assembled it and added it just below there.  I finished the card with Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue dots around the edge of my white mat.  I added a thin blue mat and a final white mat to complete the card.  Finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" in size.

It is Sunday and time once again to announce the winners in this week's comment game.  The three names drawn were:
Holly Berry!!!
Susi Mortimer!!!
Jill Liddle!!!

For the extra qualifying post of June 4th, the winners are:
Chaffinch!!!
Judy M!!!
Debra Denman!!!

Congratulations all! Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue, I So Love Today's Card!
I Love "The Tied Together Embossing Folder" and thanks to Nora for looking around where I could purchase it from, a lot of, The smaller Suppliers still have stock of items that are no longer available from larger suppliers, it's just a matter of looking around, I've also got a Piercing Ruler from someone I'd never shopped with before, by going onto different web sites that Creative Expressions supply to, as most of Top Suppliers are just out of stock, (Someone may still find The A4 Basketweave Embossing Folder)
Now back to The Awesome Card you have created today, Sue I So wish My Cards Looked as good quickly thrown together Lol!
I really love The Colours You have chosen I'm hooked on your range of Foundation Card they come in such Fantastic Colours and Periwinkle being one of my favourites, but I have many favourites in the range.
I Love The Dies that you have used your Dies are so pretty I just Love them as every one does, and The Fabulous Sentiment from Creative Expression
The Bold Collection, I Love all The Sentiments from them.
Thanks for the story, Thank You for all you do for me, The Tips and Techniques, The Daily Inspiration, The Fabulous Photographs and Breakdown how you've achieved your Master Piece I Just Love it.

Beautiful card and colours, Sue. The layering of the Spanish and California collections works so nicely. I too had been concerned about using the lattice and filigree bows on cards that were being posted and was going to try microbeading them for added strength and flexibility. But even the bow on this card (and having been across the pond and back) held up pretty well through the post!

Hello Sue
Your well travelled card is beautiful and I love this pretty colour combination. I haven't been tempted to buy the dies for the bows yet, although I love them, as I have several boxes full of ribbon!!!. However, they are nowgoing on my shopping list.
One of the items on my list was your Basket Weave. Folder so was sorry to read yesterday that it was no longer available. The good news is that after a quick search of the internet directly after I had left my comments yesterday I found one, so I was very pleased with myself. I hope other Wilsonettes found one as there are some out there somewhere!!!
Absolutely fabulous day so I am getting ready to go off to the Craft Extravaganza which is being held not far from me.

Good morning Sue & lovely blog friends,
Today's card is lovely Sue, such a lovely story too, I think you told us about that at Ally Pally, those Breakfast club guys are just amazing aren't they!
Norah your stories do make me chuckle, my dad had a mini on more than one occasion, I remember going on holiday in one, me , my brother, two sisters and mum and dad! No seat belts, buckets and kettles between our knees, tent in the boot, those were the days, our music came from an 8 track stereo, they were funny things, I seem to remember most of them were Country music, as we used to laugh at the sad, depressing, song lyrics! Thanks for bringing back those memories! No health &safety then, no seat belts, we used to go play in the woods all day, no 'mobile phones' for parents to check up on us either, they would only worry if you weren't in for tea!
Happy birthday Dear Julie, I do hope you and Lee are off to do something fun today!
My dear Cameeli, you are such a kind , dear friend, I do hope the rose was well received, hugs to you x
Steph, I do hope you are at the recoup erasing stage and that you will be back 'in the fold' soon so that we can look after you!
Lynda, Milo & Bella send special paw hugs to poor scared Annie, and a high five to Bambi, one from me to you too!
My new Grand Calibur is just lovely, it cuts a little getter too, probably as the plates are new and the mechanics haven't had thousands of passes through them, that new white plate doesn't look new anymore, I was trying to keep the new one for white card, as I have problems in the past with the darker cuts leaving marks on my lovely coconut white card! One day I will share the two month long saga of actually trying to get my new GC!
After watching shows this week on C&C I don't think I could cope with one of those E Bosser things as the noise drives me insane, and the waiting!
Hugs to you all my lovelies,
Congratulations to all the lucky winners!

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
Oh what a beautiful card you have made with the white and the periwinkle. I loved the periwinkle that much in the pack of card that i had bought that i used it all up, it is so pretty and not too hard a shade. I don't have this lattice bow but i have the plain and filigree ones which i could use instead. The card survived great and what a shame that the gentleman and your daughter only got a shot of it.

Hello Sue,

I can also vouch for the strength of this little bow, you gave me an aqua one at Ally Pally, it spent the day in my little trolley going around the show, then tube, train and car journey home and it was still in perfect condition, it now has pride of place in my craft room, and I also couldn't resist - had buying the die!

Glad the card survived it's travels so well, Sue. I always have a bit of a worry how mine will survive - never quite sure if people are just saying they arrived in one piece so I don't feel bad. Glad the 3-d bows are post friendly.

Hi Sue,
Beautiful card today with one of my all time favourite dies - the bow! I have all three of them and love them all and yes they do travel well! Congratulations to all of the winners.
Have had a bit of a disaster this afternoon - a flood in the kitchen! Didn't know anything was wrong until I slipped on the Lino - when we lifted it the floor was sodden! Hubbie played war with me for overfilling the washer and causing it to flood! Then he noticed that the dishwasher seemed to have water coming out of it ( it's a tabletop one) . Thought the drain pipi was blocked so I blew into it which usually works. However, when I switched it on again there was water flooding out of the machine. We decided to disconnect the thing and just buy a new one as really we could do with one. Well, that's when the fun started!disconnected the water pipe from the machine and the water just gushed out of the pipe - talk about wet t shirt competition, I was like a drowned rat! We hurriedly pulled out the washer to get to the pipe to turn it off - wouldn't turn off! The cat appeared just as there was a spurt of water and poor thing got soaked . I think she's just recovering from the trauma of being covered in gilding flakes and now she's positively terrified!! Hubbie ran down the street to a friend who's a plumber who fortunately came and sorted things out, but what a mess! Then to top it off - the dinner burnt!!! As the saying goes, it never rains but pours! Just hope tomorrow is better.
Happy birthday to Julie Laz hope you've had a good day. Love and hugs to everyone - now off to try and tidy up a bit! Love Alison xxx

Although you say that you did not spend too much time on this card it is absolutely beautiful. It just shows what you can achieve with well-designed high quality products. And that it looks so good after its trip round the world also speaks for the cardstock.

Hi Sue

*sigh* I do love that periwinkle blue card!

Wow what a well travelled card! It should have it's own passport by now it's gone so far! It really is beautiful, and I agree with one of the Wilsonettes in that it would do well for a guy, I have some of your dies (not those exact ones but in those ranges) and would love to try similar in darker or more neutral colours.

Have to say, I loved the shows yesterday on C&C, the sewing theme is very much a favourite of mine. I wrote a list of all the things in the show I 'neeed' and, wouldn't you know it, I had written down almost every item. Then I couldn't decide between it all and ended up not getting anything! Ended up spending the money on a special coat Billy... oh well... He is more important than my bulging craft collection after all! It's all on the list now so I shall grab things when I get the chance.

Take care everyone,

Crafty hugs to all,

T x

Hi Sue,
I finally made it - but not on the right day!
It's been manic here this weekend and I seem to have been either cooking or clearing up for hours! Really tired now but I just need to relax a little or I won't sleep. So what better way than to look at today's truly gorgeous card and read a few comments!
I love that bow - but I love all three. What a well travelled card! It looked fresh as a daisy! It may be simple but it is lovely.
Sorry Julie I am a bit late - I hope you had a lovely birthday. sending love x
Norah - not sure about the frog comment, you've got me intrigued. Hope your prince returns ASAP!
Steph - sending love and very best wishes to you too. We miss you . x
Tres , thanks for sending love this way - its much appreciated! I'm so tired after a hectic weekend! Hope you are feeling well, x
Oh Alison! - what a day! At least you'll have a lovely clean floor - and cat! Poor pussy cat - gilding flakes and water - keep the lid on the glitter! x
Love to all , good night Sue and everyone, over and out!
Myra

Hi Sue
Just wondered if you had these dies for rocker cards?
I have just completed purchasing the California collection.
On to the Spanish next :)

Just wondering how to incorporate the dies into rocker cards.
Hope you don't mind my asking or anyone looking in can direct me to a suite who has maybe done this?
Thanks

Such a pretty card. Thanks for post-testing it for us. Until now I've only used the bows on hand-delivered cards.

Hope your kitchen is drying out ok Alison. Thoughts and prayers with your brother and all your family on Monday, Gail.

Congratulations to all the lucky winners.

My elderly Grand Calibur has been ailing for a while and last week the handle was just turning limply and something was rattling around inside the machine. I remembered someone on the blog saying they had taken theirs to bits and as mine just wasn't working decided to have a look inside. I found two internal screws had come adrift. Put it all back together and it's working again. Quite relieved as buying a new machine would have meant no money left when Sue's new dies come out. So thanks to whoever posted that. I'm going to treat myself to something from the Spanish Collection!!

Hugs to all.

Such a lovely card! i love the perriwinkle color, and those Spanish dies are just gorgeous. I have the Seville, and I love it. But I have a bit of trouble cutting it, several of my attempts didn't come out nice, so I had to discard them. But still I have made some lovely things with the dies :)
