Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello bloggers!  This is just a whirlwind of a week for me!  I can tick off Ally Pally and the Wedding shows from my list, but I still need to do my drawing for the blog candy as we have just hit our target of 4900 followers (I will post it later on today!).  I have also been asked to do my dies on Create and Craft on the weekend.   A few months ago I said on the blog that we wouldn't be bringing my die line to C & C and that was because they were requiring a period of exclusivity.  They are no longer requiring that so I am happy to show off the dies as I have had many requests to see them on the tv.  A bit more prep for those shows and I will be ready to go.  Please note that they have amended the schedule for those shows and I have added the changes to the right hand side of my blog for you.  After that I leave to see my Mom again, just in time for her 91st birthday!  Busy week ahead!  Today, however, is a giveaway day and I decided to go with this card as I had several emails wanting to see it after the show a week ago.  It showcases the Cascading Fern background from Justrite Stamps.  I stamped it using a clear Perfect Medium pad on to lilac card.  I heat embossed it with white detail powder.  Using my new Art Deco embossing folder, I embossed the pattern into the card for more texture.  I cut the background into three equal strips and matted them with a thin white mat.  I mounted them with foam on to a larger white background. I tied a piece of Mauve seam binding around the card and taped the ends to the back.  Using my Classic Rose die set, I made a flower out of coconut white card.  I inked it with Shaded Lilac distress ink lightly around the edges of the petals then "sugared" it with Ice Snow.  I seated the flower on a messy bow tied from Mauve seam binding and white tulle.  I added a few leaves to it and made some matching stick pins.  I stamped a sentiment from the Bold Sentiment set and cut it into a strip and cut the ends into a flag.  I tucked the end under my flower.  I added a Lilac card mat before adding my double white pierced mats to complete the card.  Finished dimensions are 7" x 7 3/4" in size.  If you would like to be included in the drawing to win this one, just leave me a comment.  I will announce the winner on Saturday's post.  I have included a few pictures of some of our blog family that I met up with at Ally Pally last weekend below.

Jean Phillips and myself.  Jean has been on the blog from the early days!
Clare W (with her white bow) and Elaine Lewis with me here.
Tres and myself!  Tres made a gorgeous flower and wore it on her lapel!

There were lots more pics taken during the day, but not on my camera!  It was a fab weekend!
All for now, Sue x

Its such a lovely day and I have been a bit distracted so thought I would stop back on the blog for another look at today's card, its just lovely and almost matches my Lilac wedding outfit!!

No unearthly hour shopping now until 02nd May and then it will be to collect the flowers, my partner is making the bouquet for the bride and the button holes, almost everything is in hand and we collect the flowers Friday 2nd May. We get se teh consultant and get results back tomorrow and stiches out, we are being positive!!

we also have the long weekend to look forward too, and boy oh boy!! will we need it, as I will be beavering away making butterflies of various shapes and sizes for table decorations and confetti etc...
I wish I had some fairy helpers, the good thing is it keeps me out of the fridge and away from extra food!!

The photos of Jean, Clare, Elaine and Tres with Sue just make my heart sing, you all look so happy!!

Well enjoy the rest of the afternoon and the sunshine see you tomorrow.

I can't wait to get a small stash of dies and embossing folders and get started. I have mostly done decoupage up to now Looking forward to watching you over the weekend and some items just might fall into the C&C basket.

Loved your shows on C&C this week and so looking forward to your die shows at the weekend. Good for you sticking to your guns about not letting C&C have exclusive launch rights to your dies, at least you made sure they were excessible to everyone that way. Love the card by the way.

Lovely card as always Sue. Enjoyed the show with Nigel and really looking forward to the weekend shows with your dies.

Hi Sue

today's card is stunning, I really want that fern stamp. Love the colour, the flower and your pretty stick pins.

Hope your mum has a lovely birthday with all her friends and family, I send her all best wishes on her 91st, and make some Sue time and have a well earned rest, you deserve it.

Pam, I send you a big hug today, tomorrow and if I don't get time to blog on Friday, I'm sending it now.

Norah, I hope you are feeling better today, thinking of you.

Lyndsay, Those poor mares, I hope their ordeal will be over soon and you have some beautiful foals, and you get some sleep. It makes my eye's water just thinking what they have to go through.OUCH!

Steph,I hope your MRI scan went well for you today, and hope you have'nt had too many trips to the little girl's room to powder your nose. After I spoke to you yesterday We had a phone call from dad's care home, he had a bad fall and has broken his hip. He had to have a 4 hour op. What a way to spend your 90th birthday today, in hospital. we saw him today and he was in a bit of pain, but still giving the nurses the eye. He reminds of the old boy in the Wonger advert, he loves it when there are women to fuss over him. Look out nurses Donald's on the ward.Bless him. Unfortunately he won't be at the wedding now and Claire was really upset, hopefully he will be up to the Blessing in May, fingers crossed. Big hugs, had'nt better be squeezy hugs.

Kind regards :-)

Hi sue. Georgeous card today. So looking forward to ur shows at the weekend an seeing ur demos. I just love ur bow dies. I find them great as I canny seem to work the damn ribbon into a bloody bow the way u do it! Lol I need to study the videos harder I think to see how u do it. I do hope tho that c&c don't ramp up the price of the dies as I'd rather see my money goin to my local retailer here in kilmarnock unfortunately she doesn't offer flexi pay! Well she will hold it for me tho if I'm desperate lol enjoy ur hol an enjoy the well earned rest u well deserve it!!!

A beautiful card again today. I was really pleased that you refused the 'C&C only' tactic. You were quite right to do so and they had to give in as the dies are just too amazing for them not to have you do the shows. I will be tuning in. Hope you enjoy the shows. Give your Mum a hug from me please? I'm in to hugging old folks and I get to do it often as my Mum and Dad are 87 and 90 and my mum and Dad-in-law are 91 and 90. Everyone needs 3 good hugs a day. Lucky me.

I'm very fond of the panel cards, congratulations on a new achievement. Pleased you will be on C&C under your own terms, will be watching.
