On Your Special Day

Good morning all!  I have bunches of wedding samples from my shows a few weeks ago so I thought I should start feeding them in here and there.  I picked out a piece of gold decorative paper from my stash for this one and cut it on the diagonal.  I used the Fudge embossing folder to add texture to a piece of coconut white card, then glued my decorative paper to the bottom of it.  I used six gold satin roses as a diagonal border between the two pieces. I tucked some Faux Quilled Leaves in and around along with some white pearl string pieces to give the border a more romantic feel to it.  For the top focal element, I cut several ovals, one white, one gold to mat as the background pieces.  On white card, I stamped the wrought iron corner  (part of the singles range from Creative Expressions) and heat embossed it in white for a tone on tone look.  I cut this out with a slightly smaller oval and layered it up.  I stamped my sentiment and heat embossed it with gold detail powder.  I cut this out with the Splendid Circle die.  I did one more of these dies in gold and then offset it slightly behind my sentiment to complete the focal element.  I finished the card with a white paper pierced layer and a soft gold mat sandwiched between my final white mat.  Finished dimensions are 7" x 8 3/4" in size.  Got a wedding to go to soon? You might like to make this one.  All for now, Sue x

Wow, what an elegant wedding or wedding anniversary card! The roses with the delicate leaves and pearls are very creative angled across the card. The background completes it. Thanks for sharing. Karen

Good afternoon Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
What an exquisite card you have made for our delight today Sue, any couple receiving this card on their special day would be over the moon with it. I hope you are having a wonderful time with that very precious of best friends...mum. They say that a girls one true best friend that stands by her through thick and thin is their mum and it is so true.
Well i have been shattered the whole day because i went to Stirling yesterday to meet my friend and to see if i could get my daughter crystal like my mum wanted and Teeny fae Troon decided she would like crystal glasses. Anyone remember John Waynes' walk, well that was me when i came off my scooter, after of course i had run over my foot with the confounded thing. I seen champagne flutes, whiskey tumblers, tall hi ball tumblers, wine glasses and a water jug all down with 70% of in Debenhams sale. I also got a dinner service for her with matching mugs and was way happy as it all came in at under £100. The hi ball tumblers somehow came in at £3.30 for the six when they went through the till. Teeny, obviously decided she wouldn't use the whiskey tumblers or the water jug or champagne flutes so took them back today, but at least she still has wine and hi ball. Well with all the bags on my scooter, i couldn't put my legs down on the platform, but i couldn't take the chance of them not being there when i got back in. If you had seen the funny looks and stares that i was getting with me on this scooter looking like Bernie Clifton riding his ostrich. When i got back to the car, i was ever so slighty stuck and as i had switched the scooter off and then back on to reverse when i managed to get ff i got stuck with the controls in my bag and reversed over my foot. Note to self:- don't forget to switch off scooter in future to prevent being run over.
So today is a really tired and sore day as i try and bring the legs back to the upright position from the bandy legged one.
Paper Junkie, you singing to your plants is suppose to encourage them to grow and does it really matter what other people think? You are giving them and your crop a wonderful rendition. Lynne, i'm thinking he must be giving fur babies either lessons on how to wind up mum and succeed or a pep talk huddle in training them how to wind you up. Yes very definitely sailing a mite close to the wind of a tightly wound spring called Lynne. Lynda, there is nothing like taking a walk up these wonderful beauties and seeing over to the various places. Being up that high, seeing the true beauty that surrounds you is breath taking, but i have been in 5 different houses over my life time and i have always had these hills with in my view it didn't matter where i lived. Our land is a beautiful place and there is no other like it, so if you ever come up this far give me a shout.
Oh i'm glad that the north west has had the sun today because it always gets the rough of the weather, but they might have shared it with a bit more of us, as it hasn't lifted here the whole day and those lazy clouds have parked themselves on the top of the hills and ignoring everything. Ah well we might be luckier tomorrow, see you all them hopefully,
Love and crafty hugs

A very lush wedding card indeed. I like using the silky flowers myself, and they make a nice border here on this card. I haven't noticed that embossing folder before, but it's very striking.

Hi Sue,
Very late today been helping my daughter put the finishing touches to her very first wedding order, I'm so proud of her she has made such a beautiful wedding cake , will be sending you a photo as you brought the flower cutters from US for her and thought you may like to see.

Today's card is very romantic love the EB , haven't seen that one before is it a CE one ? The fudge paper and ribbon roses look sumptuous , such a beautiful card , it's our ruby wedding anniversary at the beginning of July, so I may change the colour scheme and make it for my hubby .
Thanks Sue
