Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi bloggers! An elegant three wise men card is on offer today.  I started by cutting an oval aperture in a piece of black card.  I embossed it with the Twinkle Twinkle embossing folder for texture.  To highlight the design, I rubbed enchanted gold gilding polish lightly over the top.  I added a white highlight by cutting a smaller oval in white card and adding it behind the original aperture.  I added mounting foam to the back to raise the aperture.  Next I cut the background of the Three Wise men die in black card and added a white card behind it.  I attached the aperture over the starry night background.  I cut the Three Wise Men in antique gold as well as the star and glued both pieces to the background.  I cut several poinsettias out of vellum and highlighted the edges with Enchanted gold gilding polish before assembling.  I glued them to the side of the aperture and cut some Holly Swirls in Antique Gold card to use as accents around them.  White, black and gold mats and layers were added to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8" in size.  Leave a comment if you would like to be included in the drawing to win this one!  All for now, Sue x

Dear Sue and All Who Lust After This Card,

This one says Christmas without using words, and says it beautifully too. I have a stamp that would be perfect inside. It says: Wise men still seek him.

Can anybody answer me this: Are the aperture and white oval cut with the pierced noble ovals, both A and B sets, to get such a thin frame? When this came out during the release, I didn't realize the outer stars were embossed. They're so nice highlighted with gilding polish over black.

Yet again, the Holly Swirls demonstrate why they get invited to all the parties. They dance so gracefully that the orchestra sounds better.

Lisbeth, I'd love to see how your paper-pieced robes came out.

Maria Alder, glad the procedure went well and the meds are working. Hoping for the same for Pam. Crewe Trish and Rosemary Powell, you are so kind to send love and hugs. Love and hugs to you, too.

Love,
Donita
