Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello crafters!  Its Stain Glass time again and this one is a giveaway card too.  I started by cutting the Poinsettia Stained Glass die out of black card.  I backed it with a piece of white card that had a sticky adhesive piece attached to it.  I covered a piece of Ruby red card (large enough for two stained glass dies)with Red Glitter kiss and allowed it to dry.  Once dry, I cut the Poinsettia die out of again and used the flower petal fall away pieces and paper pieced them into the original.  Once in place, I covered the remaining sticky adhesive sheet behind it with Sparkle Star glitter.  I cut the Poinsettia SG die once more out of the remaining red Glitter kiss piece and again used only the flower petals, but this time, I added a small amount of glue to the inside corner of each petal and attached it over the ones that I just paper pieced into place.  I shaped the petals upwards a bit for dimension.  I used the inside cutting die from the Twinkle Star Frame to make a white frame for it and added mounting foam to raise it for dimension.  I cut a larger piece of ruby red card and embossed it with the Wild Poinsettia embossing folder.  I used the sponge applicator from the Red Glitter kiss to add a rim of red glitter all the ways around the edge of the embossed card.  I seated the stained glass topper in the centre, then completed the card with white, red and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 1/4" in size.  Leave a comment to be entered into the drawing to win this card.  The winner's name will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

Lovely card Sue, gorgeous. Who wouldn't want to win this beauty. Fingers crossed everyone.
Elaine, I'm so sorry that Andrew has had a bad few days, let's hope he still has his treatment and this one is better for him. Can they not include something for the nausea. It must be so hard to see him like that. Sending bucketful of hugs for you both.
Julie Laz, I hope you are feeling better now, it was lovely to see you back.
June, when you go to Betty's, they should offer you White or pink champagne, I can recommend the pink, it was lovely. It is also lovely to see you are having such a wonderful special birthday, enjoy all on offer.
Pat and Carmen enjoy your coming holidays, both well deserved.
Rosemary, glad you are coping with the meds.
Well, my manager is back from leave now and Lesley had arranged to speak to her today after 11 but she texted me yesterday to say she won't be available at 11 so she will call me around 2.30 to arrange an informal visit, that means 2 of them coming to see me. It is Lesley's birthday today so I don't know if Gary has planned a day out, will have to see. Ho hum.
Daily hugs to all especially our poorly and missing friends.

Dear Sue and Crew,

I bet this is astonishing in real life. Vibrant color. Not sure I understand glitter kiss exactly.

Good luck to all the poinsettia fans.

I looked up Betty's last night and wished strongly to pig out on everything. But if you're really there, you probably have to be dainty.

Crewe Trish, it's hard to imagine the Houston area being recovered enough to supply a cruise ship by next week. And the airport accepting flights. I hope you're flexible about changes in your vacation.

Love,
Donita

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, oh this is one of my favourite cards, I have made one the same, it really is a lovely card to make, I also did one using gold mirror card, good luck to everyone.

Went to york yesterday and met up with my friend Theresa Goodwin and her husband, had a lovely 3 hours with them, then came back and visited Settle which is a very nice market town, had fish and chips outside, it was yummy. We might go to Blackpool today.

Now I need to pop to my local craft shop for some more cosmic shimmer so I wonder if they e got it in stock! Thank you for sharing.

Diane and Saba - Thank you ladies, so black flocked card does exist!...lol...the bright colours I've got are also from Papermania so maybe I did buy some black too...will wade through my stash to see if I can find some...

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

There's only one thing better than a Christmas card sample and that's one that will be up for grabs in the giveaway. It goes without saying that i absolutely adore today's example of your utter brilliance. The stained glass dies are fabulous and i love the way you have paper pieced and then put a further raised layer on the poinsettia petals. The colours are striking, i really like the contrast between the crisp white, ruby red and black, very nice. Good luck to the many Wilsonettes who will be eager to see their name displayed on Saturday.
ive had a rather busy day in Stirling getting my hair dyed and trimmed, followed by a bit of shopping so i am shattered and really more than ready for my bed....have to stay up until midnight for Darcey though, that's when she comes home for her supper and bedtime.
Had an appointment with my GP about my blood test results and they aren't in good shape at the moment:-( My liver and protein levels are rock bottom and a worry, the first step towards a hospital stay so i am told...at least that explains why ive been feeling so tired and run down of late. Ive to concentrate on my diet and eat as much protein as i can manage before getting the bloods repeated in a fortnight so fingers crossed that will do the trick.
Had some disturbing news, it seems that the daughter of our taxi drivers cat was deliberately shot by a neighbour and since she lives just along the road from us i am very worried:-( i mean, you get some seriously sick individuals nowadays who think that it's perfectly acceptable to harm innocent animals...the poor wee soul died and the police don't appear to be doing much about it which concerns me even more, its a gun crime and should be prosecuted as such! I for one will be letting Darcey and Brodie out in fear that this maniac continues his quest....hopefully they wont wander that far, fingers crossed.
Pam, am i the only one who finds it strange that two of your managers want to visit you at home? You have a valid sick note and shouldn't be harassed like this! Please make sure Lesley or another witness is there so that they can't intimidate you, i personally think that its a disgrace and don't know what this world is coming to when somebody on the verge of surgery cant be left in peace until they have recovered. Hugs to you and happy birthday to Lesleyxxx
Sending huge hugs to all my blog besties, Yvonne, Carmen, Donita, Myra, Maureen, Pat, P, Norah, Wheely bad, theresa, Maria, Alison, June and many more, hope you are all well.

A really beautiful Christmas card. Thank you for sharing Sue. Sending lots of love to you from Tres x x x

Sorry I have been absent again for a few days. It has been very stressful. Charlie dog has now had his heart scan and he has a bad heart. He has now at long last been started on medication for his heart. We are really hoping that this will help bring his problems under control. He is due for a check up in a weeks time but in the meantime we have been told we have to keep him calm as much as possible and stop him from chasing Squirrels up the garden !!! ( One of his favourite pastimes !!! ) He is far to slow to ever catch one, and they are far to clever for him to.
Sending lots of love to everyone from Tres x x x
