Christmas Double Days

Hello crafters!  More Christmas cards to share today!  First up is one of my favourites showing off the 3D Fireplace die set.  I selected some papers from my stash to use (I wanted it to sort of look like wallpaper behind it.  I cut the fireplace out of taupe card and inked through the die with Tea Dye distress ink.  Next I folded it on the score lines to create the 3D fireplace.   This die is designed so you can fold it flat to post it too!   I inked another piece of taupe card with some Mustard Seed and attached it behind the fireplace.  I cut and coloured the fire and added it to the slot in the fireplace.  I cut the stocking three times out of both white and red card.  I cut the top section off of the white ones and glued it to the red ones and attached them to the mantelpiece.  I also cut the clock and candlestick and glued them to the top of the mantle.  The wreath was cut out of both green and red card.  I took the bow off of the red one and glued it to the green wreath and attached it above the mantle.  I cut the Poinsettia Flourish out of green and added red flowers to it and draped it across top of the card.  I finished the card with white on white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/4"  x 7 3/4" in size.  Scroll down for card number two.

Card number two showcases one of the matching Stamps To Die For.  I started by embossing a piece of coconut white card using the Poinsettia Trellis embossing folder.  I cut the Lattice Ribbon out of gold card and extended it a bit to go the entire length of the side of the card.  For the focal element, I cut the Looped Snowflake in white as a base, then stamped the Poinsettia Coronet STDF in black on another piece of white card.  I coloured it with Distress markers and cut it out with the matching Art Deco Snowflake.  I stamped my sentiment in the open area, then layered it up.  I cut two Poinsettias and coated them with red Glitter  and arranged them on the lattice ribbon border.  I added several of the Holly Swirls cut in white as accents.  I completed the card with flatback pearls and white, gold and red mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7"  x 8" in size.  I hope you have enjoyed the selection of Christmas cards for today's double day treat!   All for now, Sue x

Your cards are beautiful Sue, love them. No 1 is such fun but no 2 is supremely elegant, my choice today.
Didn't see much of Julia's shows yesterday as I was in bed most of day but did get to see doctor yesterday afternoon. I thought I had strained some stomach muscles but he thinks it is infection. Still feel wobbly from migraine and not eating but he has changed some of my meds and I now have the new inhaler. Just sleeping a lot, they say it makes you better. The boys go away with their dad today for the week in the Lakes, hope they have a great time. I will miss them.
Rosemary, the meds will take a while, hope you don't get too many migraines in that time. Keep up your strength my dear.
I hope everyone is well, thinking of all our poorly and missing friends. Lorraine you sound so much better.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, 2 beautiful samples today, I must admit that I did not purchase the fireplace die but after seeing this then I will add it to my long list for ally pally. The 2nd sample is so beautiful in its own right too.

Pam I reiterate all you have said, I am pleased that you finally have the new inhaler, but please take care of yourself, yes they say that sleeping does help recovery, special hugs my friend.

Stay safe, heathy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Dear Generous Sue,

I'm casting my vote with the majority this morning. You're so good at mixing squares and curves.

The Royal Mail reached my rural mailbox Wednesday, bringing my Wednesday giveaway card. I took it to work to show everybody. It truly does look more beautiful in real life. It was the lilac one with the Diamond Peonies cut horizontally into the white background with lilac showing through and a vertical lilac one mounted in front with white showing through. Now I understand stick pins. I had thought they'd give a voodoo vibe, but they really do finish it off elegantly.

Thank you so very much, Sue.

Laine, sorry, I'm the farthest thing from a ninja at any level in the command staff.

Good to hear all the lively banter and caring thoughts on this blog.

Love,
Donita

Pam - and I thought you were getting better! Please get well soon and don't even think about going back to work next week until you are feeling 100% ok.

Wish to be there waiting for Santa. The second one is about elegance, a true Sue Wilson card. So many elements but all details work so well together … gorgeous.
You made my day sharing these two cards. Thank you.

Pam – Sorry to hear you are not well. I really hope your health will improve soon. Take care. Sending you a gentle hug.
Elaine- Hope the fire alarm was a false one and you are OK.
Laine – By the length of your comment and not only … I know you are feeling better and I am really glad. No bitchy comments in your absence, everybody behaved. Now we know who gives the tone :) Be gentle with PP, she’s not well 100% yet.

Be happy, healthy & have a great weekend,

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

I LOVE Christmas twofer Fridays! We are spoiled for choice with two spectacular seasonal delights....i can never pick favourites, both are always fabulous and today is no exception. The Fireplace is so warm and inviting, really evocative of a cosy Christmas scene. The fireplace may appear to be floating but i simply don't care, its still fantastic! The second gem is awesome, a true Sue Wilson classic and I will no doubt steal your design when the time comes, yes, brazen to the end:, that's me! :-)
Well, its been an eventful day with a lot of comings and goings, physio home visit and our Housing Association officer popped by for his annual visit just before i had to venture out for my Friday wash and blow dry. That was all fine and manageable however Brodie....who i have re christened the Terminator....decided to gift us with a couple of sparrows:-( It's getting out of control now, i really wish that I could put a stop to his homicidal tendencies, any tips would be gratefully taken on board.....
Pam, so sorry to hear that you are still suffering but you're right, sleep can be the best medicine. Don't rush back to work if you're not fully fit. Take care and i hope the boys enjoy their trip to the Lakes.
Myra, glad Maureen is well, just miss her cheek:-) How is Norah though, havent noticed any posts recently, hope she's just too busy too. Glad your getting some earlier nights in, sleep is so important at your age!:-)
Donita, you do yourself a massive disservice, i am sure your ninja skills are second to none:-) Its the rest of you I'm worried about, after all, putting your mobile in the fridge and your lunch under your desk is worrying to say the very least!
Carmen, yes, I am feeling much brighter thanks, though you did spoil my sunny disposition somewhat when you implied that I was responsible for the blogs bitchy comments:-( , I realise that Yvonne is under the weather at the minute but surely you must accept that she is responsible for much of the distasteful comments, not innocent me? I've tried being nice to her but she only seems to respond to sarcasm I'm afraid:-)
Frances, yes, Brodie is incorrigible, our neighbour has a bird feeder and i think that may be the source of his recent activities I'm afraid. Little presents are a display of love from them but it breaks my heart, thankfully Brodie doesn't seem as interested in killing them which is a blessing. How are your babies, are the girls getting along better with Pippin?
Sending love and healing hugs to all my blog besties and anyone in need of a cuddle.

Love and crafty hugs
