Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello there my crafty friends!  Today's card giveaway is a relatively simple card, but pretty nonetheless!  I started with a piece of coconut white card and used the decorative die from the Laced Heart to cut into the background randomly all over.  I backed it with a piece of dusty rose card from my stash.  Using the Scalloped Lattice Frames Set B, I created a multi layered frame out of dusty pink and coconut white card, added mounting foam and attached it over my background.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with the Pierced Flag die set, lightly inking it with Spun Sugar before removing it from the die.  I added mounting foam to the back and attached it to the left side of the frame.  Using the Chrysanthemum die set, I cut several of each size, curled the petal upwards and mounted them together to create a single large flower for the end of the sentiment strip.  I seated the flower with Spring Foliage around it as accents.  White, and dusty Rose card mats and layers were used to finish the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x  8 3/4" in size.  Leave a comment on this post if you would like a chance at winning this one.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

Happy Wednesday to you Sue and the sentiment belongs to you today.
Such a gorgeous card to give as your weekly gift, as you say, a relatively simple sample but the effect of the lattice hearts as a background is just so pretty. Your still photography highlights just how adorable today's gift is. Thank you for the chance of being its next owner. Your video yesterday was brilliant and I'm sure there will be many of us re-visiting our collection of inks and maybe a new surge in sales for them. Your Stained Glass dies are a match made in heaven for the majority of mediums but the inks I feel cry out to be surrounded by stained glass.
Sending my usual love n hugs to you and hope you have a good day xxx

Hope everyone survived the terrible storms yesterday - pleased they never got this far - for once we had a beautiful day although very cloudy this morning again!
CraftySue - the last day is always strange, but now you can look forward. I think it was disgraceful of the Senior Management not to say anything to you - certainly not setting a very good example. Good luck for whatever you choose to do next - I can recommend a life of leisure after the hustle and bustle of school!

Morning Sue,

Your clever use of dies to make a background equals a stunning card. So simple yet very effective. Good luck to everyone for today's giveaway comp.

Had a wonderful day yesterday with my first great granddaughter Milly-May and her Mum & Dad.
She is now two and a very lively little girl, always wanting to be busy, she chatters away and is speaking quite well for a just 2 yr old. She sees fun in everything she does and was so delighted when I filled up the bubble machine for her to play on the grass chasing the bubbles. On a quieter moment I gave her a little notebook and pen so she could 'draw' and she was really funny when she asked me to draw Daddy then Mummy and couldn't stop showing them her pictures. Bless little ones, they bring so much joy into our lives without knowing it. The littlest feet make the biggest footprints in our hearts.

Healing prayers and gentle hugs to all in need of one. May your day become kinder to you.

Love 7 hugs

Dear Sue and the Enlightened Few,

By enlightened, I mean those of us who get daily doses of Sue's creativity, tips, ideas and techniques.

How would it look if you cut the hearts up, down, up, next row down, up, down. So the space between them would be pleasing? And if you didn't have the lattice heart, could you cut a bunch of plain hearts and put lattice behind them?

Hugs to all your compassionate and generous selves.

Love,
Donita

Morning, Sue,
What a beautiful card for today's giveaway. You may say it's simple but it doesn't have to have all the whistles and bells to get the sentiment across. The hearts are fantastic and look at the wonderful flower! I know that we would all love to be the lucky winner.
I've not been around much lately, I've had my sister down for a visit. Until 18 months ago she used to live just about 12 miles from me in Newquay but then they up and moved across to Lincolnshire so I now only see her for one week a year. Then after she went home I was expecting my bathroom conversion to start this week but, sadly I had a call on Saturday to let me know it would have to be delayed. It seems the job they were doing turned out to be a nightmare and they didn't get finished. They were meant to start mine on the week my sis was down so I asked them to put it back a week...my fault lol. So, instead I decided to blitz the garden instead. I cut down five mature laurels and then had the mother of all fights to get the stumps out. Yesterday I attacked the eucalyptus trees I have in the corner of the garden, wanting to 'top' them before the winter gales arrive (I lost two 20' trees to gales a few years ago). So there I am, trusty new...sharp...pruning saw in hand as I climbed up the steps. I got almost all of the branches shortened but the last one decided to fight back and the saw hit a hard spot, bounced back...and decided to land across my arm. If any of you have ever seen the show 'Forged in Fire' you will recognise this phrase..."This blade will cut". So I ended up rushing down the steps and into the bathroom to see what the damage was. Not too deep thanfully but about 3" long and boy did it bleed. At least I got the work done before I ended up wounded lol.
I think the most dangerous place I'll venture today is the craft room as I think I'll be safe in there lol.
Happy Wednesday everyone, be safe.
Bejay xx

Hello. sue,
I'm much earlier today as the day is calmer - thus far !! I love this card , love the shade of pink used and the Chrysanthemum is gorgeous! I do hope I didn't upset you with my comment about inks yesterday! You know I'd never willingly do that! They are just not for me! They are very Maureen though! That's what friends are for isn't it!
Don't listen to Brenda ( Littlelamb) - me talk - never!! Yet another talented crafting friend - I've met so many all through becoming a Wilsonette!!
Bejay Roles - so sorry you hurt your arm! It could have been a lot worse! Please don't sit on the pokey tool today!!! Hope your arm heals soon.
Pam - I echo everything you have said too! Please go inside today / tomorrow as thunderstorms and a computer won't mix well in the car park!! It might strike your extension lead!!!
Love to all and try to be good! Easier for some than others! I'm off to read Carmen's quote - I missed that!
Love to all, Myra xxx ( Friend of Maureen! )

Your heart dies are so amazingly versatile and can be used to create so many different looks x
As for the Chrysanthemum die - got to say I think it could be my new favourite flower - until I change my mind yet again!
Did not manage to catch up with Laine last night. My friend popped round with her daughter and her 5 day old Grandson. Genuine excuse sorted so did not need to make one up. She has threatened to ring me tomorrow evening so if anyone can give me an original but not far fetched excuse to use I'd be very grateful x
Jokes aside the baby with no name, which is what he is being called at the moment, is adorable. My name suggestion of Englebert was not met with much enthusiasm x
I am looking forward to getting into my craft room to make some cards but my eyes are still not up to much. The police tape is still round the crime scene to apprehend any glitter attempting to attack for a second time x

Dear ladies (too many to mention the names, I don't want to miss anybody) glad that you liked the quote.I am really surprised that had this impact on you but Pam is right, as always, those few words are suitable for us all.

Elaine - To pin it on your kitchen board is more than I expected. Thank you. Hope Andrew will get his treatment tomorrow.Send a big hug to you.
Donita – I like your idea … on one of those spaces between the rows you can attached the sentiment or small hearts or flowers or ... You can even make a square shape out of this hearts and add the sentiment in the middle, where you won't have anything. I don’t have the lace heart but I plan to use the plain one and just add the lace underneath.
Myra - Enjoy your vacation. You need a break from the kids and the kids need a break from you :) I know they lave you.
CraftySuetoo - You have to see the glass as half full: you'll have more time to play with Sue's dies.
Rosemary - You won't be alone on Monday. We all be there with you and for you.
Cheryl - Love your granddaughter name!
Bejay - It's good that you didn't lose your humor.Hope your arm heals soon.
PP - Be kind and talk to Laine. We miss her as much we missed you .. maybe not as much :)

Sad/happy day today! The Kid found a better job. He's last day is next week,Friday. I am sad and happy in the same time; happy for him,sad for his team and the rest of us. It is so easy to work with him and he is a great coworker. He will make it official on Friday when he plans to go around and talk to everybody.

By the way: good luck all! I would love to own this card!

Hugs to all.

I really love this card Sue and would love to own it. Unfortunately I don't get the posts until Thursday so am too late to be considered.,However I did not become a member of this blog to win prizes but to carry on learning and to feel that I have 'friends' out there.
I had my minor surgery yesterday and my hip feels a bit better today.
You are a treasure Sue and make so many people happy.
