Robin Redbreast Stained Glass

Good Sunday morning all!  Just a quick reminder that I am doing more One Day Special shows today with my new Christmas release.  I thought I would share with you one of the cards from the show  too.   I selected the Robin Redbreast Stained Glass, not only because I love working with these Stained Glass dies, but also because this one isn't too Chrismassy and I thought I would ease you into the Christmas cards!  I made this one in a few layers, even thought the picture makes it look sort of flat, it isn't.  I started by cutting the die in black card first.  I attached a piece of white card behind it that had a sticky adhesive sheet attached to it.  I laid down the cut die on the exposed adhesive and rubbed Diamond Sprinkles over the top of it.  From this piece, I carefully cut the outside frame area, leaving it in one piece and the central bird focal element.  I added mounting foam to the back of the frame area.  Next I cut the die two more times, once in white and once in black card.  I adhered the white die cut to another piece of card that I had gilded with Red Blaze gilding flakes.  Then I used the black die cut on top of that, but offset so the white showed just a bit below it.  I attached the frame I made earlier over the top of it, lining up the pattern and glued the glittered bird over the top too.  I cut a larger piece of white card and embossed it with the Twisting Holly folder for texture.  I gilded a couple of strips of card and cut two of the Garland Edger out of it.  I glued  a white backing on them and attached them to the top and bottom edges of my embossed background.  I seated the frame in the centre of them.  The card was completed with white and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x  7 1/2" in size.

Beautiful card Sue. Really good to see you on tv last night, your shows are amazing and the demos were superb. I was very happy to see you looking so well.
Congratulations to comment game winners. Enjoy your prize. Well done Kitty.
Rosemary, well done you. I wouldn't have liked a mask either. Hope you get good results soon.
Diane, loved the sound of your desserts. What is Gaelic Trifle, sounds good whatever is in it. I'm so glad I'm not the only one with dodgy fingers.
Margaret you were spot on, it is the Government.
Norah, you understand so well what they are like. Don't take on so much, you will make yourself ill.
Elaine, hope Johns scan went well and that Andrew is home safe and well. He will have lots to tell of the ones that got away.
Yvonne, Laine told us you are not well, sending you a caring hug, hope you feel better soon, we miss you.
Carmen, hope your weekend is going well, enjoy yourself.
Yorkie Girl, journey home sounded like a nightmare.
Caring hugs to all, especially poorly and missing friends.

Such a pretty card. Your dies have inspired me to start this year's Christmas cards. So after I catch up on the shows I recorded from last night, and watch today's shows, I plan to shut myself in the craft room and play

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, lovely card today, would like to see you demo this one either on TV or a video.

Fantastic shows last night, shame one of the presenters wouldn't get you get a word in and kept interrupting you but the demo's were fantastic, and I had to order from my supplier 3 of the dies which I didn't have, - you are a bad influence on me Sue.

Pam I reiterate all you have said.

Had a great day at craft workshop yesterday, made 2 cards very different, will put pictures on fb later.

Hubby is going to golf later today so I can sit and watch Sue all day today, yiphee.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Hello Sue,

What an opulent and regal looking card today. I can imagine how beautiful it is in person just by you describing the many layers it has. With the red blaze gilding flakes I think it would make a wonderful fall birthday card.

Loved your shows Saturday and look forward to those scheduled for Sunday.

Have a wonderful day.

Morning lovely. You looked so lovely all dressed in deep burgundy (that's the colour my screen showed although tv doesn't always show the true colour) so forgive me if I'm way off lol. You looked really well and glowing. Your demo's with the stained glass was absolutely beautiful, my heart was in my mouth until you found that pesky petal ! Not only am I looking forward to all the 'flick through' samples I'm looking forward to watching you put this sample together, your photography is spot on Sue as it shows how well the black frame is standing off the card. I will catch up with the recorded 8pm show in a little while when I have a few minutes of quiet. I've noticed that my posts are getting longer and longer, so from tomorrow I'm going to try hard and cut it down to only what is important and stop all my verbal lol.
Really looking forward to making time to sit and relax and watch your shows today, sending congrats to the comment winners too.
Sending hugs for the day and hope all goes well without you being rushed. Enjoy your day Sue xxx

Absolutely love this card, Sue, everything about it. Have to read instructions again to get the offset into my fuddled brain! Sadly couldn't see the 6 p.m. show and now H doesn't 'do' Freeview after 7 it's not possible to watch during the night, which was a bit of a guilty pleasure previously in the sleepless hours. Will try to catch you today.
Rosemary - OMG you were brave! Sounds horrific, but over with now. Onward and upward!
Well done to the comment winners, especially Kitty after her big birthday, and also Pawprintx4 on the card win.
PP - sorry you're not too good at the moment, sending hugs.
Echoing Pam as usual.

Good morning Sue. Stunning card, had to read your instructions a few times and then all of a sudden it clicked! Fabulous shows yesterday, it's wonderful to have you back on screen again. I'd quietly bought the one day special - well I had a discount so it would have been rude not to, during your first show, hoping that I could sneak it into the stash without the family knowing. That hope went out the window when Hochanda put my name and town in the comments running across the bottom of the screen and they all saw it!
Congratulations to all the winners this week. Hugs to all. Sue xxx

To My Wonderful Dear Friend Sue,
Firstly, May I Apologise For Not Being Around For A Couple Of Days
I've Been Away, But I Did Catch Up With Your Exceptional Cards Plus "The Video Tutorial"
I Loved The Card On Friday As I've Purchased These Particular Cutting Dies, (I'm Using In My Christmas Card Collection)
Today's Card Is Just "Stupendous" Once Again I've Purchased This Beautiful Cutting Die Set, I'm Going To Try "The Paper
Piercing", But I've Purchased Some Of "The Polished Glitters" For The Stained Glass Cards.
Products Used In Today's Card:-
"Creative Expression Mounting Foam"
"Creative Expression Sticky Adhesive Sheet"
"Creative Expression Coconut White/Black Foundation Card"
"Creative Expression Diamond Sprinkles"
"Creative Expression Red Blaze Gilding Flakes"
"Creative Expression Twisting Holly Embossing Folder"
Star's In Today's Card:-
"Sue Wilson Robin Redbreast Stained Glass Cutting Die"
"Sue Wilson Garland Edger"
Sue, You Started By Cutting "The Robin Redbreast Cutting Die" Out Of "Black Card" You Then Attached This
To A Piece Of "Coconut White Card" Behind It That Had A Piece Of "Sticky Adhesive Sheet" Attached To It.
Sue, You Then Laid Down The Cut Die On The Exposed Adhesive Then Rubbed In "Diamond Sprinkles"
Over The Top, From This Piece, You, Then Carefully Cut "The Outside Frame" Leaving It In One Piece
Also The Central "Robin Redbreast" Focal Element, You Added "Mounting Foam" To The Back Of Your "Frame
Area", Next You Cut "The Robin Redbreast Die" Out Two More Times One In "Coconut White/Black Card"
You Adhered The "Coconut White" Cut Out To Another Piece Of Card That You Had Gilded Using
"The Outstanding Red Blaze Gilding Flakes" (Just Stupendous) Sue, Then You Used "The Black Card"
Die Cut On Top Of That But Offset Slightly So "The Coconut White" Just Shows Below It.
Sue, You Then Attached "The Black Frame" That You'd Placed "Mounting Foam" On, Over The Top Of It
Lining Up The Pattern Adding "The Glittered Robin Redbreast" Over The Top Too, You Then Cut Out A
Larger Piece Of "Coconut White Card" Which You Embossed Using "The Twisting Holly Embossing Folder"
For Texture, You Also Gilded A Couple Of Strips Of "Coconut White Card" With "The Red Blaze Gilding Flakes"
Then You Cut Out Two "Garland Edgers", You Glued A "Coconut White Card" Back To Them Then Attached
To Top/Bottom Of Your Background Placing "The Impressive Frame" In The Centre Then You Placed This Onto
A Piece Of "Coconut White Card" With Your "Famous Signature Piercing" Adding A "Black/Coconut White Card Mat..
Today's Card Is Just "Phenomenal" Just So "Magical"
Sue, You Were Absolutely "Terrific" On Hochanda Last Evening The Demonstrations Were Just Exceptional You
Explained Everything Word Perfect. Thank You So Very Much Looking Forward To The Shows Today...
I Love Making "Christmas Cards" So Today's Card Is Just Exceptional.

Good evening Sue and the Wilsonettes,
I have this beauty smuggled into my christmas stash to look as if it has been there since forever, along with its poinsettia companion because they are so pretty. The way you have made todays wonder Sue, it could so be used for a male christmas card, as the colours made by the gilding flakes just have that way that surely they can't complain that it is too blingy, could they? A beautiful card flower and so deceiving to let us think that it is a quicky that we can run out, to find out that there is more substance and bite to the card. Thank you Sue for a simply beautiful card, i hope that you have had a lovely time on Hochanda.
PP alias Yvonne, i'm sorry you're not feeling all that clever the now flower, but i hope that it is getting better by each passing day. Sending you down some hugs flower as i think you could do with some. Come on flower, we need you in tip top mode to keep the banter up with Lorraine and especially since she has won big on Sue's christmas draw, lol, we need you to keep her feet firmly planted up here is Stirling.
Oh Myra flower, i hope that you're not as bad as you were last year when we met up, as you really did take the courage prize that day. I wouldn't wish migraines on my worse enemy because they are horrible things to have and leave you ruing it for a couple of days after it's departure. I hope you are better soon my lovely flower, sending baby huggles down to keep you company, ;D
Rosemary, been through that experience and it is terrifying to say the least but that could be because i am very claustrophobic and being anchored down onto that table and put through that machine was all my nightmares come true. I bet you're glad that you are now this side of that appointment and not still gearing up for it? I hope that they find out more and finally can pinpoint and help, well at least more than they did for me. I hope it's not too long before you're all hunkydory again.
Well i have been pottering around today doing the washing while it was a good day(of course that has now changed) and i could get them out on the ropes. I stripped everything off my bed from mattress protector(because i sometimes get a little visitor that wants out of his boring wee cot and up into granny's big bed) upwards, it's nearly all dried. I have also got two christmas cards made as well so i am quite pleased with myself. I like to make a batch of different ones for my friends church but i can't bring myself to make wee quick throw together jobs, they must be of the same standard that i send out to my friends and some family(others get a shop bought cheap box). I've had fun paper piecing a new die that i got and it looks really nice, but with all the fiddling, i don't think i will be doing too many of them somehow, lol. I hope that you have all had a lovely weekend and Pam flower, deep breath in, head up and walk in as if they are not going to get at you tomorrow. Not a nice environment to be working in and now that another two have decided that they can take no more, it leaves even more to be put on the few that are still determined they are not giving in to the ra* **gs. Oh how i wish that our hugs were real and that they could work wonders, but i will be thinking of you flower.
To all of this weeks winners, a big well done and enjoy your prize when it arrives,
love and crafty hugs to all
Norah (Glenochil)

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

I for one am really pleased to have a Christmas card featured on today's blog, it really whets the appetite for when my recently acquired bundle of dies arrives:-)
Beautiful card, i am so looking forward to using this cute die, the possibilities are endless....i cant wait to use pixie powders or CE silk glitters with it, or paper piecing.
Having a rough day, just read a few comments but like Myra, i woke with a killer migraine this morning and have struggled all day to shift it....hope yours lifts soon Myra, they can be really debilitating honeyxxx
Sending huge hugs to all my besties, hope that you are all well and i will catch up properly again tomorrowxxx

Love and crafty hugs

Laine1972xxx

Ps. Just wanted to congratulate Sue on her fabulous shows and the deserved success of her die launch, cant wait until the 12th of July and what treats you have in storexxx

Hi Sue,
Fabulous card today. Love the stained glass and with the gilding flakes exceptional! However, I did love the one you did on tv with the pixie powder background as well. Inspired me to give the powders another outing to see if I can manage to get a lovely background piece instead of a muddy Puddle!! Brilliant shows today - great to have you back on tv.
Congratulations to the lucky winners xx.
Love and hugs Alison xxx

Hi Sue
What a beautiful card today, gilding flakes and sparkle!! You are spoiling us.
Love Diane G xxx
Pam echoing your comments today. The Gaelic trifle is a sponge layer soaked in coffee and whisky, custard flavoured with coffee and whisky with cream added to it and finally topped with whipped cream and chocolate flakes. It's rather yummy and my cousins were drooling over it as it's a firm favourite. Sending hugs xxx
Congratulations to the lucky winners xxx
Rosemary you deserve a star xxx

Gorgeous card using the Robin Redbreast Stained Glass die. Love the way you've used diamond sprinkles and gilding flakes behind the die. I was heartened to know that a few others had to read the method a couple of times before the penny dropped. I had thought I was being particularly thick today.
Congratulations to Kitty Davies, Krafty Runner X and Mavis L. on winning the comment game.
Rosemary and Elaine's John, good wishes for your scan results.
Take care everyone.

Good morning all. I don't often feel envious but reading all the comments from those who have watched the shows on Hochanda makes me wish I too could. I think there is a way that I can watch Hochanda from my PC but haven't managed it yet.
Tomorrow (Tuesday) my Daughter is coming to take me to Inspirations and I am going to buy the stained glass dies, I really do hope they are not out of stock.
Congratulations to the comment winners.
Best wishes to all. Marie.
