You Are The Best

Hello there my crafty friends!  I do have to confess that I designed this card entirely around the embossing folder (that I had just received in the post!)  I really love the way it frames everything.  I embossed the Jasmine Frame embossing folder using coconut white card as my background.  I added some flatback pearls in the corners and matted it with a thin black mat.  For the focal element, I cut the Azores die out of white and backed it with silver mirror card.  I cut one more backing piece in black and cut it in half and added it to the top and bottom edges as a shadow.  I cut the Atlantic Ocean tag out of white and backed it with black, then cut it down the centre.  I attached one piece of it to the sides of the Azores so it was just peeking out the left and right sides.  Next I cut the same tag again but in vintage silver card twice and in black card twice.  I used the black as a shadow on booth of the silver tags, then crisscrossed them and attached them to the middle of the card.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the centre of the tag and added a black shadow to it as well using the slightly larger centre of the other tag in the set.  I cut the Chrysanthemum die using two of each of the sizes in the set, offset them and glued them all together.  I used a silver paint pen on the tips.  I seated the flower of a black satin ribbon bow and added a few leaves from the set as accents.  White, silver and black mats were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  9" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Beautiful card Sue, lovely.
June you seem to have had great fun at Groovi, good for you.
Donita, what can I say, fab food, fab friends, presents, crafting, cake and much laughter. Sounds like a recipe for the perfect day, you just needed a jug of Maureen's pink stuff, she said it wasn't alcoholic, hmmmmm. So glad you ended your birthday celebration in style.
Elaine, poor you. I think you must be run down and vulnerable to everything, go to docs before it gets worse. Lovely to hear Andrew is having such a good time. Now where is his monster fish?
Julie, Sandie, Dirothy and June Horricks new babies due, that little stork is going to be so busy.
Laine, you may think he won't notice but it's surprising what they do see. I hope you have a great time with him though.
The twins are doing well, thank you. Their dad has arranged a holiday in the Lakes, August, for Robs wife, daughter, his sister and her family, his brother and him, Nikki his wife and the boys, 11 in all, the twins are so excited as they will have so much fun. It will give Kelky and her partner a chance fir a break too.
Daily hugs to all, especially our poorly and missing friends.

Morning Sue. These framed folders are absolutely gorgeous. I've seen quite a few cards made with these folders and they are all so pretty. They are a wonderful foundation to build on and for that reason I shall get my shop owner to order some for me, hope she has a new CE rep since the lovely rep John left !
I'm returning today's sentiment back to you Sue. If it wasn't for you and your designing skills, if it wasn't for your dies and daily inspiration, then I wouldn't get such nice compliments at market, I just embarrasingly day "thank you" but if I thought they knew anything about crafting my reply would be "it's down to Sue Wilson dies" and that is what I do say if another crafter approaches me at market, it's so nice to get into a craft convo at market when someone that appreciates the amount of work just one card takes, plus it's my way of hopefully promoting your dies etc. So today is our little families 3rd Anniversary and this will bring back fun loving memories for you Sue and you know who ☺ they are taking their now walking and talking beautiful Lottie to Chester zoo, a lovely family day out to celebrate, what could be better, a lovely weekend away and the zoo ☺
Well there's my text to announce my two are on their way back from the park, so my love n hugs are making their way to you special lady, have a lovely day xxx

I'm just going to echo Pam's comments again as I have to psych myself up for work. With 4 weeks to go I've found out I'm being replaced by a 19 year old with no experience, and I'm supposed to hand over 14 years of knowledge before I leave! Hugs to all. Sue xxx

Lovely card, Sue, your design fits perfectly into the EF which is so pretty.
Laine - all that cleaning lol. Mr P's late aunt (a version of Mrs Bucket known as Boo-kay) and her husband came to visit - only the once - and prior to this I spent forever with the Marigolds on. Was confident all would be okay, but she pulled back the long curtains to the French windows for some reason.... and a huge and wondrous spider's web stretched out for all to see!! Years of weaving went into that one!! A haunting memory lol.
It's your echo again, Pam. All well said.

Dear Sue and Friends of Sue,

This was an exciting recipe to read, with surprises at every turn. I hadn't guessed that the Atlantic Ocean tag was criss crossed, or used to widen the Azores.

Or that the tips of the flower were silver.

Another tactic for occupying the mind during an MRI is to count backwards by threes from 999. Interesting patterns develop. Sometimes to keep my mind from racing I see how many of the 12 steps of AA I can still remember.

But right now the mind is insisting on sleep. This group is so dear.

Love,
Donita

Saba , Andrew still not pulled one big enough yet , i did say to him if you get a real big carp the lads will help you pull it in , Andrew said " not on your life Mum i will pull it in myself or he will pull me in . I think they are going on an all nighter tomorrow night .

Hello Sue,
Beautiful, elegant card today, and the Embossing Folder is gorgeous.
Pam, hope all is well with you and your breathing is easier. The family will enjoy their holiday in August, and hopefully it will give them all a lift.
Elaine, I hope Andrew bags a whale of a fish and that you are feeling much better.
CraftySueToo, my daughter had to apply for her own job after working 21 years in the same department and she worked her way up to P.A. which she'd done for 10 years. She didn't get the job as she didn't have enough experience and they appointed someone who used to ring her every day for advice!! She was transferred to another department and worked there for 6 years until she was totally cheesed off. She is now a P.A. in a Primary School, where the head is in charge of all the primaries in that side of the city. She's worked there almost 4 years now and loves it. Big drop in salary, but so much happier. Good luck to you.
Rosemary, if you want to see dancing, you should see my moves, especially after some of the pink stuff ha ha.
Tressa, have a wonderful time in Reykjavik. Many moons ago (in the early 1970's when I worked in Engineering), I used to send telex message there. The number of their machine was 3, obviously not many machines in Iceland then!!! I have no idea if telex messaging is still used.
Alimecca, we'll have to call you the Mermaid!!
Steph, hope Lottie has a wonderful day at the Zoo.
Yvonne, hope you are feeling much brighter and livelier.
Laine, I hope you haven't worn yourself out, enjoy your company, keep the lights low and he'll not notice anything amiss!!!
love to all

Hello Sue,
What a lovely card, black, white and silver are such a lovely combination to use. It looks very Art Deco to me, my favourite period of design. The Jasmine EF is really pretty and frames the focal point beautifully.

Crafty Sue Too that is just awful of your employer, not being mean but I hope they struggle without you.
Pam it will be lovely for them all to go away together and it will give them something to look forward to.
P- if she ever comes back just let Yeti come inside!
Elaine it that's the case my house must be filthy! We never get spiders, might just be something to do with being on the fourth floor though, it's a long way up the drain pipe! I had a big fat hairy moth last evening though, horrid things scared me half to death.
Rosemary I am so envious. I guess you're another strictly fan then! It was always Pascha for me, loved your phrase - eye candy!
Alison well done, you really are persevering. You should be proud of yourself.
Carmen you were a bit quiet, hope you are alright.
Yvonne Hope you are starting to feel a bit better.

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Fabulous card sample Sue, love the EF, it looks like the dies were made to fit inside the pattern. The composition of the dies is beautiful, i really like the colour palette, very striking yet elegant.
Wow, what a full on day, having visitors is so draining! Started the day with yet another "present" from Brodie....he's rapidly becoming psychopathic and I am seriously concerned for the local bird population!
Then i went with my Mum to get a cheeky blow dry in preparation of our imminent visit....the set stays in for days so I wont have to worry about it while Uncle B is staying, that's if i sleep with my head suspended above the pillow of course!:-)
Stocked up on his favourite delicacies from M&S before heading home to await his arrival....its like a royal visit the amount of preparation that goes into anyone staying with us, I'm getting too long in the tooth for all this:-)
He arrived somewhat the worse for wear having imbibed just a few free whiskeys on the journey up, that first class travel for you.....i told you that he was tight, he wanted his moneys worth:-)
I've taken some time out to catch up on today's blog and to attempt to keep a tenuous grip on my sanity, it will be a long five days methinks....plus side being that in his merry state he hasn't noticed any floating cat fur that rolls like tumble weed across the wooden floors no matter how much you hoover it!
Carmen, yes, i like to be addressed using my full title, i only wish others would show your respect for my status:-)
Frances, i thought that I was Strictlys biggest fan too, but Rosemary has me beaten hands down! I would have loved to have seen Vincente and Flavia live, not to mention the others but have never had the opportunity:-( nevermind, i can still appreciate a peachy bum in full HD with the benefit of close ups and the pause button if I cant see it live:-)
Rosemary, i am utterly green with envy, so much so that I am rendered near speechless!
Maureen, I've heard about your moves, just keep your clothes on next time and your hands to yourself:-)
Pam, how nice that the twins have something positive to look forward too, hope they enjoy their time away.
Tressa, enjoy the beauties that Iceland has to offer, i prefer a slightly warmer climate myself though:-)
Yvonne, thinking of you honeyxxx
Huge hugs to all my blog bestiesxxx

Gorgeous card Sue. I have a few frame style embossing folders but they are all a bit small for the size of card I enjoy making. It's great to see a larger one available.

Good afternoon Sue,
I would love to aspire to be on the same page as you are but it would take more time than I have left I'm sure.

I look for your postings every day and try to read all the comments too. Because of my low vision it takes ages to read them all although my PC does have a good magnifier.
I don't have a TV but I do pick up a lot of your videos on the computer and I thank you loudly for that.
Today's card is super as always.
Have you ever made a card you didn't like?

Good evening Sue and the Wilsonettes,
Well i have tried in vain tonight to read the posts and admit defeat and will stick with the card which seems to be a little out of my focus as well but here goes. I love the new ef Sue, it's so pretty coming around from the outside and leaving the middle oval blank for you to put in whatever catches you eye at the time to decorate it with. The Atlantic dies and the Azores middle are such a nice combination and with the arms of the Azores matching in the arms of the Atlantic. Thank you flower for a really nice art deco card that i think quite a lot of the youngsters are into at the moment judging by wedding themes at present. Have a good night flower,
love and crafty hugs

Hi Sue and everyone.
I did pop by yesterday to see what beauty was to be seen, but unfortunately had no time to comment.
Yes I think this embossing folder is so lovely too.I felt the same Sue after purchasing your Butterfly embossing folder, just had to use it straight away.
A beautiful card and colourway, just perfect Sue
Have a lovely day all.
