Happy Easter

Hi bloggers!  I know that Easter is a bit earlier this year so I thought I would try to get my Easter cards up on the blog before it actually arrives this year!  Before you read the description of how it was made, any idea what die I have used for the tufts of grass in among the Easter eggs??  Hmmm, let's see if you can guess before you read what it is!  I started this card by puling out my Double Pierced Noble Rectangles and Ovals sets to create several frames.  I cut a multi layered frame of blush card, kraft card and coconut white card using the Ovals (both sets).  I embossed a piece of coconut white card with the new TulipTwist embossing folder and seated the frames over it.  Then I created the rectangular frames out of coconut white card and added a solid white unembossed piece as the backing behind those and glued my ova frames into the centre of that.  Next I cut the Easter Basket die in Kraft card and backed it in Chestnut Brown.  I cut off the tabs (which are for use to make it 3D) and added mounting foam to the back of the basket.  I cut the eggs out of custard, blush and sky blue and added them to the basket.  To add a bit of greenery around them, I cut the Chrysanthemum die, yes, it is a flower die!  I cut it up into pieces and added it around the eggs as a bit of embellishment.  The bunny was designed to sort of look like a chocolate bunny (like you buy in the shops) so I decided to cut him in dark brown card.  I added the bunny and a couple of eggs and "greenery" around the outside of the basket.  I used the bow from the set and added it to the handle and cut the Happy Easter phrase and glued it to the top of the oval frame.  The card was completed with a simple white on white mat and layer.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  8 3/4"in size.  All for now, Sue x

Sue thank you for a lovely Monday card, makes a cold dark morning much brighter. Love this beautiful card.
Elaine, even though Andrew and Helen had rain, he will be able to relax and rest, it will be good for him.
Laine, good to see you back, what a spending spree you had. I did enjoy the apple crumble thank you. Jack came in, kissed me, pushed the container in my hand and took himself and my iPad off to the bedroom. That's his normal reaction when he comes in lol.
Carmen, poor you, no fun when that happens. We too have a similar problem at work, either too cold or too hot.
Patricia, your flowers sound beautiful, clever girl.
NannaTina and Tina T, thinking of you.
My hugs and best wishes to all, especially our missing friends. Nirah, hope you are going to be well enough for the big meet up. Maureen, missing you too.

Hi Sue,
Loving this card and the tufts you've used for grass - well my guess is "the individual petals of the crysanthemum flower. Am I correct?

A beautiful card Sue and a great idea for the grass. I think you're a bit confused about Easter though. It's actually three weeks later this year than it was last year! Like Christmas though, it's always good to have ideas early!

What a fun card. No reason why we can't have an early Easter card, there have been hot cross buns in the supermarket since Boxing Day!!!

Morning Sue. Woohoo. My brain works I guessed right lol. Mastermind here I come - well maybe not !
I'm so thrilled you have showcased this little basket die. Since my 'patient' gave it me I've had all sorts of idea's of what I can add when used as an Easter card, but like your festive samples, more Easter idea's would help a million please, it would be nice to get away from the usual religious themed card, although I do make those too so I'm certainly not against them in any l way, shape or form. Your sample is so sweet and why we are amazed at the springs of grass I have no idea, after all you are the one and only Sue Wilson - card and die designer lol at first I thought you used the Dandelion Clocks but then I realised it was your new Crysthathamum die - good try Sue, but we are starting to get the hang of how you work so next time maybe you should stretch our minds a little more lol after all that, you have started my week with a smile so thank you for a real pretty card. Wonder if you've actually seen any devil's yet ?
on that note, my usual daily hug is winging its way to you and I hope you have a brilliant day 😊 xxx

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, oh my goodness Sue this is so gorgeous, yes it is a little bit big for postage but what a creation you have come up with, (I was please I - like lots of Wilsonettes - guessed what the grass tufts were made from - your so clever). I have purchased these dies but to date have not used them yet, well you know what I am going to say don't you, yes I am going to try it. Lots to cut out though, but a good way of using up those little off cuts that we all keep. It is never too early for inspiration Sue.

It is a nice bright morning here in Kent, hope it stays like it.

Pam sorry I forgot to mention Jack yesterday and his crumble, I know you are very, very proud of both the twins, they are so alike yet different. Did I tell you that I am a twin and I have a set of twin sisters as well, only a year between the 4 of us - but oh boy did we have lots of fun growing up. We used to have a name badge on when we were in primary school and used to swap them around, you can imagine the antics that we got up too. Anyway I digress, Jack will remember all of his life the wonderful reaction he got from his cooking, priceless.

Elaine, shame about the rain for Andrew and Helen but I am sure that getting away for a few days will do them a power of good, special hugs xx

Laine, pleased you are back, missed you.

I so enjoy reading all the stories on here, brings our friends closer doesn't it.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Dear Sue and Wilsonettes,

Thank you for starting our Easter bulbs early so they're in full bloom when we need them.

This card is so appealing and the guessing game was fun. Sure like the new embossing folder and how much variety you can get in the eggs. Any update on when we might be able to hope for blush card?

My battery and my iPad battery are both getting low, so I better get this sent before we both go out.

Best of weeks to everyone.

Morning Sue,

First I must apologise profusely for forgetting to congratulate Izzy and dj2908 yesterday on their comment wins too. I am not usually so lax as to forget my congratulations.

Beautiful Easter card Sue, so colourful which is what Spring is all about.

I bought Pete a Magnolia Stellata for our 10th Wedding anniversary and it has almost reached it's peak in flowering. Brilliant white star-like flowers on bare leafed branches shine in abundance for this year's showing. That's when I know Spring has arrived to my little corner of Somerset.

Gentle hugs and healing prayers for all those in pain & discomfort.
Although we sometimes tend to go two foot back for each one forward, I hope your day sees an improvement in your goals.

Love 7 hugs

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Wow, what a fabulous card! I have a little confession to make....i didn't buy the Easter multibuy on Hochanda the other day because I didn't want the Easter Basket die....i thought that since I don't do Easter cards it wouldn't justify the purchase. This card has made me seriously regret my decision, it is stupendous. I love the composition, the Noble rectangles and ovals have been put to great use...the different coloured layers are fab...the focal element is just so cute, the chocolate bunny and pastel coloured eggs are lovely...the detailing on the eggs is great...and the basket itself is gorgeous with that lattice detailing. A truly inspirational card Sue that has made me seriously reconsider buying this delightful die. Thanksxxx
We had a little visitor today...or at least Brodie did, he has an admirer in the form of 18month old Ailsa who heads straight to our door every time she visits her Gran our neighbour Yvonne. She shouts his name and goes mental with excitement when he appears. Luckily he is great with children and patiently lets her stroke him until he gets bored and runs off with her in hot pursuit, its so sweet to watch the wonder of little ones around animals. His looks have been spoiled by his bare ear though, his war wound, your so right Frances, my Mum has been uncharacteristically cavalier about the matter but i am worried about this becoming a regular occurrence, who knows what other parts of his anatomy are at risk from permanent scarring!
Myra, your after school club sounds like fun, hope you enjoyed yourself. Personally, a room full of pre pubescent youths with scissors, glue and die cut sheep fills me with dread, in fact i am breaking into a cold sweat just thinking about it.......
Saba, kissing your rope is perfectly acceptable, as a young girl i was known for kissing my george Michael and Duran Duran posters such was my appreciation, so i completely understand your impulse:-)
June, my goodness, two sets of twins within 12 months is amazing, your parents deserve a medal for bravery! You must have had so much fun as a child, i always wanted a twin but God saw fit to break the mould when he created me so it was never to be:-)
Carmen, my love of David Tennent and Broadchurch is unparalleled, its back on again at 9pm and i am so excited, i already have my suspicions but i am keeping my cards close to my chest. Okay, pretend that you didn't miss me but i know different....Yvonne's the same, always pretending she's busy when in actual fact she's pining away for the sound of my voice:-)
Elaine, hope your Doctors appointment went well, take carexxx
Tina T and NannaTina, hope you are both well, thinking about you both
P, its lovely to hear that someone appreciates my humour, some will question your taste but ignore them because as long as you can smile i am happy:-) sending my love to you, Harry and your other furbabesxxx
Sending hugs to all my other besties and those that need a little squeezexxx

This is so lovely, Sue that I've finally given in and bought the die!!!!! I thought I could make some little baskets with choccy eggs for the elderly ladies at a club I help with. I can always find an excuse for another one of your dies.......you are so bad!!!!! X

A lovely card Sue, I love the Easter bunny. And yes, I guessed the due that you had used to make the grass, probably because I saw it in Hochanda at the weekend

Hi Sue,

What a gorgeous Easter card! I really love the cards with embossing background. Clever use of the chrysanthemum die! The basket die set is on my wish list now.

Pam – At least you understand what I am going thru. Thank you
June – 2 pairs of twins! I have no doubt you had fun. I am wondering how much fun your parents had. Somebody said that “having two sets of twins means quadruple the work, but also four times the love, fun and laughter”. I suppose he’s right!
P' in Wales – Oh, dear, we are kind with each other … in our own way :)
Laine – Am I wrong or you plan to disappear again for a few days to enjoy your new toys? I won’t beg you to come back!

The Kid visited us today. He looks good and he is doing great. This time he came with his girlfriend. She’s so cute. Can you imagine to be 22 years old only and suddenly your boyfriend of a few months to be diagnosed with cancer? It takes a lot of love and strength and determination and devotion and dedication and compassion (you name it) not to run away. Cancer can easily ruin a marriage and pull a family apart. But his girlfriend decided to stay with him and be there for him no matter what. She was the only one beside him at home and at the hospital all these months. They went thru a lot. I just can't imagine how they felt every day, being on their own, in an adoption country with both sides of families’ miles and miles away.
There are not enough words to describe my admiration for this young girl.

Hugs to all,
Still a newbie to Craft / Not longer the newest and the only across the pond Wilsonette
