Through the Window Card

Hi bloggers!  There are just so many wonderful ways in which you can use a window die.  Today's video shows you a lovely way in which to create a card which suggests the viewer is inside looking outward.

The finished dimensions are 7" x  7 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Wonderful card Sue, very beautiful and I love the little cat.
Elaine, hope Andrew got on well at hospital. Bet they love your prem baby jackets. I knit jumpers and beanies fir third world babies, beanie hats for the. Retired Fishermens mission and I am going to start Twiddlemuffs for dementia patients, all this in between my first love card making.
Thank you for kind words, I do have some wonderful memories to help me, and I have 2 gorgeous daughters and 4 very precious grandchildren.
Carmen, woohoo, the Kid is back at work, surrounded by people who care about him. How nice of him to provide breakfast, like the sound of marbled cheese.
Laine and Yvonne, nice to see you back, take care Ladies, hope you are both fully recovered soon. Laine, I could never scroll past your posts.
June, when you have finished your craft room, you can tackle mine please.
Sandra hope the baby lambs are doing well. My granddaughter does feeding shifts at the farm where her horse is, she loves the baby lambs.
Hugs to all, especially remembering our missing and poorly friends. Tina and NannaTina, always in my thoughts.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, what a fabulous video this morning, oh I will be glued to that later, I have the dies, you do realise Sue that my to do list is getting longer by the day.

Pam, it is getting there but very, very slowly, not enough room, but I have found a few things I thought I had lost, ha ha.

I reiterate everything that Pam has said, especially hoping Andrew got on OK.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Oh Sue. Your delicate papers, the beautiful window and the through the window scene makes me smile. I can't describe how it makes me feel, would it sound stupid if I said it's like looking inside one of those ornate Victorian dolls houses ? It's giving me a warm cosy feeling on a bitter cold morning. Even though the spring bulbs are smiling at me when I look at them through my window, it certainly doesn't feel spring like at the moment, so today's sample brings hope of warmer days to come. I will watch the 'how to' later when I have peace quiet and a big glass of hot frothy latte in my hands, so that when I break the seal of my window die that I had at Christmas I'll have your inspiration to guide me through.
Sending hugs to keep you warm xxx

A really lovely card, Sue, like the wallpaper and dado rail and the pretty view. Wow, you have some good cat knowledge; it probably won't surprise you that we have a cat like this - Amy - official colour 'dilute tortoiseshell with white' and in the distant past also had a Callie, named for the obvious reason! And the magnificent Soosie Floosie, a cat of many names. Thanks as ever for the video.
Laine - yes re-commented late yesterday, probably during your composition ha ha.
Pam, thanks again, always reiterating your lovely words.
Carmen - you really had a happy day - brilliant.
Hugs to all - hope haven't missed it, but any news from Theresa G?

Dear Sue and Fellow Fans,

I love it when you do two kinds of wallpaper with a chair rail. And sweet is the word for this card.

I've never seen the inside of one of your paper books, but I do understand Denise T keeping a spare just to look at. I have put some of my favorite scrapbook papers in a scrapbook of just scrapbook papers. Looking at them makes me feel better sometimes.

Thank you Carmen for the tip about the basket being part of the Easter sale at Ecstasy Crafts.

Yesterday I thought Kim Dibben was telling us a news flash that blush paper was available again, but everyone else must have understood her as merely remarking that Sue was using it. Like when people say they're glad to see a big bow or a stick pin.

This time I'd like to echo those who appreciate Pam's effort in keeping track of everybody and sending them a good word that we can echo. Sue's the die cuts and bling, but Pam's the glue. The dries-clear glue.

OK, I'm off to look up Twiddlemuffs.

Love,
Donita

Hi Sue,

Oh what a gorgeous little card, so sweet with the dado rail and floral wallpaper.
I have some petite SB window dies and have not used them on a card before, only ever cut them out for the nursery and preschool to use in their 'makings days'.
You have certainly made me think more about how to use them, thank you.

Healing prayers and gentle hugs for all in discomfort & pain.

A few words of encouragement for loss.............

Hi Sue, I adore this card and watched the video a few weeks ago. I shamelessly copied it as my first make with all the lovely dies. Your paper pad is perfect for this type of card. I have made a couple more since then and already have ideas for Christmas using the window and door but would welcome some more inspiration from you.

Laine - I managed to walk up the road in between downpours yesterday but when I woke up to snow this morning, well........... Poor Darcey, luckily my three will use the litter tray if they have to. The girls don't like the wind and will stay in but Pippin doesn't care and comes back in absolutely soaking wet but he does allow me to give him a towel rub to remove the worst.
'P' - I am sure Amy is beautiful no matter what the official description :-)
Carmen - the Kid is back! That is great news and how kind of him to buy you all breakfast. I'm glad you got some bargains, it's great when companies have good special offers, isn't it.
Dragonsnap2 - so glad the family are getting back to normal, I can imagine how worried you were.

What a pretty card and a very informative video as usual! I have this set so will definitely have a play! I love how you have used the papers and I also appreciate that there is no need to worry about getting the pussy cats face right as we have a back view! Thanks for that! I love that you can either look in the window or out!
I've learned a lot today! I'd never heard of a Calico cat -sorry! So had to google that . Apparently it's mostly known as a Tortoiseshell cat here! So they say. Anyhow I've learned that.
Also Pam I'd never heard of Twiddlemuffs! Off I went to check on those too! What a brilliant idea - I've seen some great photos. I may get involved at some stage but have other things on the go at the moment! It's nice to have something to pick up and lay down without thinking too much! Norah I'm not , you see!! Norah can knit complicated and chat at the same time!!
Carmen - lovely quote from the other day! I did go back and read it!
I remembered I Die cut using the Californian Collection which I still love very much - I see my dear " friend" Saba made unkind remarks about my age and memory! Well I won't forget that !!
It's lovely to see the dynamic duo back in action! We have missed you! I know it's hard to believe but we have! ( note to self - need to get out more!!) :)
Elaine - hope all goes well for Andrew and this treatment can be had and finished very very soon.
Maria - so sorry you are struggling with painful shoulders and sore eyes! Thinking of you and sending hugs!
Sandra - I love lambs! Hope they all do well.
Love to all,

Hi Sue
This is such an adorable card. I love it. It could be used for so many occasions. If I just wanted to send someone a bit of happy it would be perfect. And let's face it who doesn't need to be sent a bit of happy x
Got to say Sue, your kinetics collection is so much fun. I did give in to temptation and go for the candy machine when you were last on Hochanda. I had planned to have play with it before now but best laid plans - and all that x
I am wondering if you will be adding to the kinetics collection when you reveal your next launch. Have a feeling in my waters that the new launch could be within the next few weeks - am I right Sue? Excited x
Blue skies, a few fluffy clouds and sun today. Gorgeous. Not feeling up to hanging washing on the line myself but thank goodness for good friends. I sat and watched as someone else did the work - could get used to that x
Pam - you're such a star - always there. I didn't realise Brian was so young when he passed. Steve was 49 when I lost him - positively ancient!!! Twiddlemuffs - what on earth??!! x
Fluffy - honestly - not a drop of anything stronger than tea x
Theresa W - lovely to be back - hugs right back at you x
P - I have found humouring Laine is the best way of dealing with her x
Laine - best course of action as far as your hair is concerned - a large bag coming down to your shoulders. Would make life so much more pleasant for everyone. Speak soon hun x
Carmen - it would appear that I have an ally in you my friend - how refreshing. You have grasped (quite quickly) that Laine obviously needs a little discipline!! I feel like I have been fighting a monumental battle but not winning. Maybe working together we can put her back in her box! So delighted to hear that the Kid is back. Hugs x
Saba - George is 19 - yes Laine a woman in her 40's shamelessly throwing herself at my young innocent little angel - it's not right is it? She has no scruples x
Elaine - hugs to you and yours my friend x
Cheryl - lovely words x
Dragonsnap2 - sorry things have been grotty. Fingers crossed things are on the up x
Maria - sending gentle healing hugs x
Myra - after school club - you're a saint - I would not have the patience x
Helen - slowly does it girl!! x
That's all my waffling for today. I know you're relieved (not a word Laine). Quiet night including chocolate and hopefully a good film if George manages to find one on Netflix x
Sending happy thoughts and lots of love to everyone specially my besties x
Take care
Crafty hugs

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

This is an exquisite card made all the better by the inclusion of your fabulous paper pad.....utilising it as the wallpaper and dado rail was brilliantly done and highly effective. I am super pleased to have this great stamp and the Arched Window die so i will be slavishly copying your card with the help of your hugely entertaining video. Can i just say thanks for creating a little pussy die, much appreciated addition from a cat lover and boy does it add an adorable touch to these dies and stamps, very homely. I didn't know either Myra, that this colouring was called a Calico but appreciate being informed:-) Going to watch the demo after i have finished commenting. Thanks for yet another fabulous sample Sue, where do you get all that inspiration from i wonder?xxx
Yet another dreadful day here I'm afraid so i made an executive decision to stay indoors and watch a DVD instead....snuggled up on the sofa with a hot water bottle, some chocolate and the second Bridget Jones movie....i got all three films for 15pounds which i thought a real bargain and always guaranteed to make you feel warm and fuzzy inside, the film, not the price!:-)
Had a bit of an altercation between Darcey and Brodie this afternoon, my Mum hobbled outside without her sticks to give chase and separate them and ended up flat on her bum in a puddle....thank goodness she has so much padding:-) She ended up with an ego as bruised as her behind but at least she managed to separate our fur babies before any real damage was done.
Frances, weather so bad this morning that Brodie didn't even attempt at going out and went straight to his litter tray, not so Darcey though, she braved the elements and was accosted by my Mum and a towel on her return....they both love a good rub down:-) Are the girls warming to Pippin yet?Do you have any fistfights?
Myra, you're a braver woman than me, I don't think i could deal with a room full of boisterous kids armed with scissors, glitter and glue ;-)
P, i did miss your post whilst i was writing mine, was just worried because you're usually such an early bird. Soosie Floosie is an inspired name for a cat, i bet Amy is gorgeous...do you have any favourites amongst your brood?
Saba, it sounds like you're all hot and bothered about the prospect of some nubile flesh...George is young, that I admit, but with that brings so much potential, you'll just have to negotiate your way past the MIL from Hell first:-)
Carmen, what age are your boys....I like to keep my options open:-).....and do they appreciate the more experienced woman? Don't be alarmed my dear, its purely wishful thinking on my part nowadays as Yvonne will agree, though it's still nice to speculate:-) So pleased to hear the Kid is back at work, he sounds a gem and you seem very fond of him, in a purely maternal way I'm sure! Enjoy playing with your Easter Basket when it arrives and please pay scant attention to Yvonne, she feels she has a new ally but we know better don't we?:-)
Yvonne, not back 5mins and already causing trouble! I cant believe that I almost felt sorry for you, well, not anymore my lady....Large bag you say? How sad that you so obviously feel threatened by my superior good looks, my profile pic speaks for itself! As for finding an ally in Carmen think again, she has the measure of you my dear, make no mistake, so please refrain from your desperate attempts at sullying my reputation because its just plain sad:-) You better buck up your ideas or there will be no phone call this week that's a promise!
Sending hugs to all my besties, including Maria, Tina T, Nanna Tina, Pat, Pam, Deb C, Tracy, Wheely, Theresa and many morexxx

Hell Sue,
I love today's card, your background papers look fabulous as wallpaper and the view out of the window is gorgeous, loved watching you colour it in and especially your little Calico cat. I ended up on the internet like Myra but in my case finding out why Calico cats were female. Turns out it's all to do with the X chromosome which passes on the colour. Females have two, therefore two colours, males only have one X so just one colour. So Sue, not only do you inspire us with your cards , you send us off on a voyage of learning!

I've been out gadding this evening to our annual huntsman dinner. It involved much table knocking ( a German tradition when anyone enters a room) and much repeating of the word Prost when anyone lifts their glass for a drink. It's obligatory to take a drink of yours when the word Prost is uttered so your glass soon becomes empty and you have to order another but before you can take a sip have to say Prost and everyone Prosts you back and takes a drink. It goes on like that for the whole evening then before you leave you have to go round and knock at each table, everyone knocks back, and my knuckles are now sore and I'm sick of the word Prost!

P, Soosie Flossie is a fabulous name for a cat, love it.
Elaine fingers crossed for Andrews results.
Dragonsnaps I hope things are starting to improve for your family, you've had a tough time.
Yvonne and Laine, it's so good to see you two back on form, cheered me up no end.
Carmen if I was you I'd lock your boys up!
Love and hugs for all

Hi Sue and everyone

Sorry it's so late. This card is so cute. I am looking forward to watching the video tomorrow as my eyes are almost closing now. Great use of your paper pad Sue. The cat is such a nice touch too.

Been back to physio today, she is pleased with my progress (even if I wasn't) so that's good and to be honest I can tell there is improvement with my movement. She told me not to underestimate how painful it would be for a while considering what the surgeon had done. Where he has removed the spur of bone and shaved the rest that would cause inflammation and the nerves have been damaged as well. So maybe I'm being a little hard on myself, especially as I decided to stop the painkillers after three days because they exacerbated other problems. So to Myra, Maria and Yvonne thanks for your comments, I am definitely taking it slowly but surely from now on and I haven't been turning handles as I use an Ebosser, but the plates are So Heavy! Good to have you back Yvonne, glad you're feeling better. X
Sandra, how exciting to have the lambs. Hard work, with hourly feeds, but so rewarding. X
Cheryl, enjoyed your wise words. X
Dragonsnap, sorry to hear your daughter has had such a rough time, glad she's on the mend. X
Saba, sounds an exhausting evening, but fun. X
Sorry for rambling, may as well have watched the video! ..but I can enjoy that tomorrow instead.

Love Helen xxx

Hi Sue,

This card is different from what you usually do. I love the soft colors and all those little details, including the cat. It reminds me of the house where I grew up. Happy memories. Thanks for another great video

Pam – The Kid brought the spring in our hearts. This is the way I feel. He couldn’t stop smiling yesterday. He took the time and talked to each of us. He even made the effort to come at the second floor where some of us are working. It is so good to have him back. We feel complete now. God help us not to have to go thru this ever again.
Elaine – Fingers crossed for Andrew’s results. Sending my daily hugs for all of you.
Dragonsnap2 – Sending good, healthy vibes your way.
Donita – Very nice way you described Pam and Sue.
Frances – I like where I work and I like my job.The management is happy as long as you don’t ask for a raise. They show their appreciation with summer BBQ, Christmas lunch and once in a while our GM brings bagels and cream cheese for breakfast. We also celebrate all the birthdays of each month, with a cake. La vie en rose :)
‘P’ in Wales – I don’t like Mondays, but yesterday was an exception.
Myra & Maria – Thank you both for reading my post.
Saba – In light of the new information I don't think that it matters whether or not the gang of nine knows about George. I hope you agree that he is too young for any of us. Apparently not for one of us.
Are you traveling from Germany to Ally Pally?
PP/Yvonne – Between you and me: I am here; I am your friend and your ally. It is unbelievable how someone falsely claims to be a friend only to be close to your young and innocent son. What a world we live in!
Laine – You didn’t like math, did you? 40 (I pretend you are 40 only) is 20 (let’s pretend George is a year older than he is) multiply by 2. or 20 is 40 divided by 2! Are we on the same page now?
About my boys ...I cannot blame you for trying but my lips are sealed.:)

For those who have snow and not only ...
May the sun shine warm upon your face and warm your heart,
Still a newbie to Craft / Not longer the newest and the only across the pond Wilsonette

I am loving this window/window box set. I just watched your You Tube and loved the "stucco" walls on your house plus the light shining from the window. Great details!
This is a set on my wish list for sure.

I have just become acquainted with your dies and videos and blog. Your dies cut better than any other I have used so I am thrilled to find them and begin my collection. A couple of questions: What is the fine tipped glue that you use and what is the spray adhesive that you use? how do you create envelopes to fit your cards? What is the diecutting machine that you use the most?
