Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi crafters!   I have pulled out some metallic bronze card for today's card giveaway, a colour I admittedly do not use often, but it is quite pretty.  I started by cutting the decorative die from the Tahiti into a piece of milk card.  I cut it once on the left and then again on the right side of the card, overlapping in the centre.  I backed it with bronze card so it showed through the cut out areas.  I cut two of the Molly die in milk card and crisscrossed them in the centre of the card.  I added a Pacific Ocean tag cut out of bronze and backed with milk card in the centre.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the oval from the set and used the slightly larger oval from the other tag in the set as a mat.  I cut three Striped Nasturtium flowers out of bronze and backed the with milk card.  I seated the largest with silk cream bow and added Lace Edged Leaves around it and the other two flowers.  I cut a double strip of cream pearls down the middle and added a strip to the upper and lower edges as accents.  Milk and bronze mats were added to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 8 3/4" in size.  Leave a comment to be included in the drawing to win this one.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

Happy Wednesday Sue and a stunning card for the giveaway. Good luck to all.
Donita, I'm honoured to be the glue although I'm not sure Sue will agree lol.
Dragonsnap, good to have you back, you have had your hands full, hope your daughter is recovering well now. How is the baby and the other grandchildren, good job you live next door.
Saba I'm surprised you could walk after all that Prosting but sounds like a good night was had by all.
Helen, good news from the physio, keep it up. Won't be long before you can craft again.
Elaine, I hooe Andrew is coping well, these delays are so demoralising fir him. Will be a blessing when it ends.
Twiddlemuffs or Sensory muffs are hand muffs with buttons, ribbons, beads etc stitched on the outside and sone inside for Dementia patients as they typically have restless hands and it helps calm them, also keeps the hands warm if needed, probably on the same theory as those baby play mats with textures and such.
Carmen, the kid is lucky to have you all as you are him, lovely relationship.
Hugs and best wishes to all, especially our missing friends, hugs to both Tinas, Norah, Wheeley and all poorly friends too.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, a stunning card today Sue, love the colours but the dies really do show off this creations to its full potential, what a genius you are to design such stunning creations. Good luck everyone for this card, would love to have it on my shelf.

Pam the twiddle/sensory muffs sound really nice, I can imagine that they would help to calm down a patient with memory problems, I remember my Mum used to love popping the bubbles on bubble wrap, or just pulling tissues out of a tissue box, or even squeezing one of those soft balls, your talented doing these.

Off to my craft group today, but we are doing our own thing, I might just cut out loads of little flowers and things, very therapeutic.

Sending special hugs to all those who need them, yes you know who you are.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Morning Sue. WOW What a fantastic card for your giveaway. The colours are stunning and so detailed. Love how you mix and match your dies and come up with a masterpiece. My Jewelled Heart and other dies turned up yesterday so i had to have a play and WOW i love them all. The Chrysanthemum flowers are gorgeous and the Antila is like a piece of lace. So i will have to have another play today LOL. Woke up to it snowing from the heavens this morning and i think if it keeps up we might get snowed in. What happened to the spring weather we had last week. Take care everyone.
Best Wishes.

Ohh Sue. How can you wave this beautiful sample away ? Really hope it has a twin, and as you've said before I bet the stills don't do today's giveaway justice ! It really pulls a gorgeous punch. After your quiz last week when at first glance i thought it was the Dandelion die you used for the strips of grass in the bunny basket when it was the new Crysanthemum, so as I was cutting the Easter basket yesterday I thought - before I tidy up and put away ready to start again today I'll give it a try, so I cut a couple of Dandelions and it will work as a substitute if we don't have the Crysanthemum (yet) plus I was using the basket as the main focal point in a card, and I snipped off the square but once you've cut the pasture to make the handle so I didn't have to fold it over and so it lay flat on the card. I just glanced down at the paper waste bin and wondered if that 'fold over' cut off could be used for something. So, if embossed, or stamped or decorated it makes a lovely little planter or if cut in silver mirri card and snipped slightly at the top corners it makes a vintage looking bucket type thing to position the Easter egg die in a small decorative pile like they've been gathered. So apart from all the other ideas that I had for today (which I knew I should have written down ) !! I'm going to play with the Easter basket cut off planter type waste and see what I end up with lol.
So for now I'll send my usual hugs and hope your day is a good one xxx

Wow, gorgeous card for the giveaway today. Love the colours and the mix of dies.
Baby Lola has a clicky hip but we aren't sure how bad so she's off to the hospital with mum today. I'm looking after the two year old, India. The four year old who had chicken pox is now back at school. My daughter Rachel is over the worst of her chest infection but still coughing a lot. As you say Pam we're glad we just live next door st times like this.
I'd never heard of twiddlemuffs but they sound really good and dual purpose too. Reiterating all Pam's good wishes to those suffering or in need. Crafty hugs to all.

Good morning Sue,
Wow! What a fabulous card you are offering for your giveaway this week. That nasturtium die crops up a lot lately, I received my Chrysanthemum die yesterday and hoping to play with it today. I also want to cut out some leaves and ferns in various colours from your dies so that I have them ready to use. It saves me searching through my dies to find the particular die and colour that I want at the time to finish a card. Would love to win this card it would be treasured forever.
Good luck everyone xxx

Pam , Andrew spent nearly three hours with more tests and waiting for the results, sadly his immune system was way to low again and so they sent him home . He was throughly fed up with it all but today is a new day and i am sure he will bounce back ready for next weeks tests.
I found the Twiddlemuffs page , it all looks very interesting ,i have loads of odd balls of wool and will certainly give it a go.

We have an early Appointment again today ,my John has to have another test he has a problem with his memory ,i have delayed telling you as i was hoping things would get better with him ,but hey God never gives you anything you can't handle, right?

I will have to shoot so sending big hugs to all.

You always manage to produce a real showstopper for the weekly giveaway Sue, I don't know how you can bear to part with such beautiful specimens. Don't include me in the giveaway Sue, i won an embarrassment of your cards at New Year and it wouldn't be fair to stand in the way of another grateful Wilsonettes benefitting from your generosity....its a stunning card and whoever is lucky enough to adopt it will be over the moon, good luck everyonexxx

Be jay, Happy Birthday in case i forget tomorrow, hope you enjoy your dayxxx
Saba, the Germans certainly know how to enjoy themselves, it sounds like my kind of country:-) It really made me giggle picturing you having to drink every time somebody proclaimed "Prost", I'd last five minutes in that environment! I'm hurt, telling Carmen to lock up her sons and implying that i am some kind of desperate, nearly middle aged predator....and i thought we were friends!:-)
Patricia, Hazel, Norah and Jess, i hope you enjoyed your catch up, i hope Norah is feeling better, we miss her stories. Jess, where is your friends craft shop? Is it local to Stirling?
Elaine, sorry to hear about Andrews treatment, it must be so frustrating for him, better luck next week. Hope Johns tests are encouraging, you really have so much on your plate just now, I'm thinking of you and your loved onesxxx
Pam, what a lovely idea creating something for dementia sufferers, i was never a fan of knitting, i tried it when i was in hospital for 9 months but found cross stitch suited me better, how thoughtful of you.
Yvonne, looks like you have indeed found an ally in Carmen, well don't get any ideas because i too have friends in high places who wouldn't take too kindly to you both ganging up on me:-) Between the pair of you my reputation is in tatters, i can only hope that other innocent newcomers don't join your gang of desperadoes:-)
Carmen, i can see that i have lost you to the dark side, and yes, i was very good at Maths and i am well aware of the age difference but you need to be more relaxed and open minded, cougars are all the rage now after all:-) I shouldn't be surprised that you and Yvonne have found some common ground at my expense, she is, as we all know, bitter, twisted and filled with jealousy due to my wit, charm, good looks and youth so I am guessing you share her neurosis....i guess my invite to visit Toronto has been withdrawn?
Huge hugs to my special friends, Frances, P, Pat, Pam, Myra, June, Maria, Tracy, Tina T, Deb C, Nanna Tina, Wheely and anyone else who needs a cuddlexxx

Crafty love and hugs

Hello Sue,
Sorry I'm late but it's been one of those days!
Molly is one of my top favourites so I was really pleased to see her this morning! I love the colours you have used - the bronze is really lovely! As ever gorgeous flowers! Thank you!
I'm really sorry but I haven't had time to read today . Will I be put on the naughty step! ??
Pam - the photos I saw of the Twiddlemuffs were lovely!
Love to all my friends on the blog!
My thoughts and prayers are with those folks in London tonight who are suffering as a result of this awful attack. Thanks to all the Service Personnel who had to deal with it as well as medical staff and innocent members of the public! Also for those who are mourning the loss of a loved one.
Love Myra xxx
