Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello there my crafty friends!  Today's card giveaway was one of my demos from previous Hochanda shows,  I started with a piece of aqua card and used the outer die from the Lotus Striplet to cut a decorative back ground into it.  The small squares in the die easily slot back in so you can cut any manner of designs from it!  I backed it with white card and added a muti-layered frame cut from the Scalloped Lattice Frames over the top.  I cut the Pacific Ocean tag in aqua and backed it in black and added it with foam to the centre of the card.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the oval from the set and added it to the tag centre.  I embellished the card with a diagonal spray of Striped Nasturtiums cut with only the solid flowers in the set.  I inked all the edges with Aqua Adirondack ink and cut slits into each of them to give them a slightly different appearance.  The flowers were accented with bits of the Family Tree cut up into pieces.  White, aqua and black mats were added to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x  8 3/4" in size.  If you would like to be entered into the drawing to win this ones, just leave a comment.  The winner of the drawing will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

Beautiful card, perfect fir the Wednesday giveaway. You will make someone's dream come true.
Watched johns shows last night, great Demi's, that man is a joy to watch, a true crafter and true Sue advocate. Inspirational.
Elaine, what can I say, poor Helen, she has had a really rough time this last year. I hope her Mum is comfortable and peaceful. On the good side, the news about Andrew was so good, he needs to get these last treatments over and done with. You and your family have gone through so much. Hope hubby is well.
Crewe Trish, it is hard to watch family go through this, he will be grateful you are there fir him, he just doesn't know how to show it. Big hugs for you both and your dear Mum too, so hard at her age to watch her children be ill.
Dragonsnap, your daughter is bound to be tired, new mums always are without the other children being ill and herself too. You be careful too please.
Laine and Yvonne, hope the chat went well.
Carmen, I was very pleased with your choice, thank you.
Hugs to all, especially our poorly, missing and worried friends. Life can be very difficult at times.

Morning. What a beautiful way to start Wednesday. My most favourite shade of blue and the most beautiful card. It's so clever how you design your collections to work like this, no other brand can do what you do that's for sure. I'm just wondering how on earth the new collection due soon can surpass your last it was your first attempt at Kinetics and they were so so popular so I can't even begin to imagin what you have for us, I just know that they will be absolutely brilliant. This is a giveaway that needs framing for life and loving for a lifetime.
Sending Wednesday hugs your way and hope you have an enjoyable day xxx

Lovely card for the giveaway, Sue, cheerful on this wet morning. Saw John (in the middle of a painful night for Mr P) and, as ever, he did brilliantly. Fabulous samples.
Had to smile, on the early news there is Larry (?) the Number 10 cat, sitting on the doorstep as happy as.....!! Only needed the topiary trees to replicate yesterday's card. And a mat saying Home Sweet Brexit.
Thanks Pam, your echo again.
Special thoughts for Elaine's Helen, so bittersweet with the good news and the bad.
Also for Dragonsnap's family.
Hugs.

Dear Sue and fellow hopefuls,

When you design a die such as the lotus striplet, are you aware how useful it will prove to be? Or do you only learn that when you're surprised how often you return to it?

Also, it baffles me how you can mix straight lines and squares to contrast with floral sprays. When I try contrast, I get clash.

So I'm grateful that you share ideas we can emulate, if not outright copy.

Thank you for your generosity in sharing your talent.

Enjoy your Wednesday.

Love,
Donita

Love this card Sue. Love the dies and the colours you've used. The Lotus striplet is a fabulous die. My friend recently borrowed my Lotus striplet to make a background like this. She liked the die so much that she's bought it.
I've just been looking at the new release due out next month. There are some amazing dies there. I really don't know how you come up with such amazing collections all the time and each one surpasses the previous. Is there no end to your talent? The place I order my dies from is doing a special offer on all the new dies bought as a bundle. It's my birthday in April so I think I need to sweet talk my hubby.
India and Lola are much improved but their daddy has now gone down with the chest infection and a gum boil. I'm thinking of painting a big red cross on their front door!
Thoughts and prayers to all, also crafty hugs.

Then they all made a card, using the same basket die and die-cut eggs and bunnies. They had a wonderful time, so much more fun than just making cards! So, a big THANK YOU, Sue, for making it possible. I just wish I had taken pictures of the ladies and their finished projects. JO xxx

Today's card is beautiful . I have the Striplet used and love it. It's so versatile. Love the colours too. Do I need to mention I like flowers??
Carmen - inspired choice! Have you ever served in the Diplomatic Corps??? You won't have met Laine there - at least I don't think so!!
Pam - as ever thanks for the summary and for taking the teasing so well! I'd love to meet you!
Nanny Jo - well done! You will have made these ladies very happy but it isn't easy to get everything prepped and ready.
Crewe Trish - hope your daughter enjoys her trip to Germany in spite of being there with fairly young children! I wouldn't like to go on a break with my After Schoool Club! I'm too long in the tooth for that now!
Dragonsnap 2 - you made me laugh about the big Red Cross! Don't wave the white flag just yet! PS! You deserve those Dies!!
Laine and Yvonne - hope you are still talking? Well not literally , although I'm sure you are both more that capable of talking for 24 hours!
I must go!
Love to Everyone , Myra xxx

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

What a corker! Just love the aqua colour palette, it looks so striking against the white and black. Ingenious way of creating a background with the striplet die, superb! It's really cool how you have snipped away at the Nasturtium flowers, nice touch. What a lovely card to gift to one of your adoring public, how generous and very much appreciated, good luck ladies in the draw, I'm sure it will find it's way to a loving homexxx
Despite having a veritable mountain of ironing to climb today i still managed to catch some of Johns shows, i was very impressed with his samples using the ODS dies, so much so in fact that i managed to persuade my Mum that they would be an essential addition to my current die family:-) I am so excited because I don't have many square shaped dies, it will be a refreshing change using it.
No sign of Ginger Boy today, hope he is alright but he seems to have gotten the message that we aren't operating a fast food outlet for pussies:-) Darcey and Brodie much more relaxed as a result:-)
Myra, you may be right in suggesting that I could talk for 24hrs solid, particularly with that old gas bag Yvonne......i woke this morning having dislocated my jaw in my sleep, it slipped back nicely but i hold Yvonne entirely responsible, holding a conversation with her is hard work!:-) What could you mean that I wouldn't have served in the Diplomatic Corps? Are you suggesting that i am unable of behaving in a socially acceptable fashion with tact and politeness?
Carmen, it appears to be that your little band of bullies is growing by the day, since Myra has now taken to slandering my good name....well, she may think that you are capable of politically and socially acceptable behaviour but i can see that is so far removed from the reality that it's laughable :-) i have extended the hand of friendship only for it to be rudely thrown back in my face, you are welcome to to unholy alliance with that trouble maker Yvonne....am i the only one who can see similarities with the witches in Macbeth?:-)
Saba, how long is it before you fly back to Blighty? It can't be long now....I'm thinking that some of your beloved rope might come in handy when subduing Myra now that her character has been called into question, you never can be too sure you know.....and if her voice has returned maybe keep an old thick hiking sock to hand, it might prove useful:-)
Dragonsnap, i think you may be right, a Red Cross would indeed be appropriate:-) Hope the family recover quickly though, thank goodness you are on hand to help out!
Yvonne, how did your hair appointment go? Did the hairdresser perform a minor miracle and get rid of all your grey hairs? Maybe you'll only look like a middle aged frump now instead of a flaky geriatric....then again, maybe not:-)
Cuddles to all my besties, hope that you are all wellxxx

Hello Sue,
Another beautiful fresh looking card today. Love how you have used the lotus striplet as a background. Your striped nasturtiums look lovely and the little ocean tag is fast becoming one of my favourites. Good luck to everyone in the draw. I've had a sneak peek too and it's a fabulous collection, there are several I have fallen for and that's without even seeing what you produce with them. Now my only problem is how few clothes to pack for my trip home to leave room in my suitcase.

Crewe Trish hope Elissa has a fabulous time here, if I see a big group of British children I'll shout her name and surprise her. Hugs for you, your mum and Tony.
"P" sorry hubby had a bad night, hope tonight is better.
Barbara if is means eating beans for a whole month it'll be worth it.
Dragonsnap, never mind the cross I think you should burn the house down! What a rotten time they have all been having, hope they are all recovered soon.
Elaine, Ey Up Lass, I'm a Yorkie too! I've taught my German hubby quite a few Yorkshire sayings and he often greets his work colleagues with Ey Up, and has been heard to utter Ee by gum! However Sod it is his all time favourite! Just need to get his accent right. Sending hugs for Helen, she must need them and good luck for Andrews first injection on Friday.
Laine, I fly home a week on Monday. I just have to get through a big party organised by my daft husband on the Friday beforehand. I say organised, he couldn't oraganise a tiddle up in a brewery so it'll be a disaster. I won't forgot to take my rope, would you like me to lassoo Myra or just tie her up in knots? I'm good at knots! Pray tell, what's the sock for?
Love and hugs for everyone

Hi Sue
Truly stunning. Whoever is the lucky winner will be so delighted to receive this gorgeous work of art x
Aqua has been absent for a little while but it has made a glorious return on today's card. The striped nasturtiums and those pretty delicate leaves are perfect and with a little pop of black to finish it off and voila - a thing of beauty x
I have got to say after having a first glance at all of your new dies I have goosebumps!! They are truly transcendent. I cannot believe that you have yet again managed to give us a collection of the most imaginative and intricate dies to amaze and delight as only you can. I could sing with happiness and am so excited to see what magic you will perform with these fantabulous new treasures x
I really am so tempted to pre order the whole lot but even though I would be more than willing to live on bread and water to fund my habit, my boys would not be willing to join me due to a complete lack of understanding regarding my addiction x
I have had another busy one today. Was supposed to be having my hair done but had to cancel as a cock up with my council tax needed immediate attention. After being put on hold numerous times and lots of annoying phone music I think I managed to resolve the matter - but you never know x
I am really tired so am going to play catch up with all the news tomorrow. I will finish by sending happy thoughts and lots of love to everyone especially my blog besties x
Take care

Hi Sue,

Wow! Gorgeous card! Love, love the colors. I don’t use black on my cards but this one has the right amount of black, making everything pop up. Maybe I should give it a try. Great use of the dies! Love the background created with Lotus Striplet. It didn’t cross my mind to use it in this way till now. I am wondering if we can make a similar background with a different die from your Striplets collection. Worth a try, right. You brought back Striped Nasturtiums. I just ordered them beside a few more dies. I can’t wait to get my order.
I don’t know if I will be able to give away a card like this. I guess I am not as generous as you. This is a giveaway that needs framing for life and loving for a lifetime, as Stephanie C. said.
I have also had a sneak peak at your new dies. Really beautiful! I made another list.

Good luck everyone!

Pam - So I did well. Thank you.
Myra - Between you and me ... I have moments when I regret meeting Laine :), even it is only online!
PP/Yvonne – It is good to know that you survived last night’s chat with Laine.
Laine - Is the makeup or you turned green with envy as our alliance grows?
Saba – Laine is suggesting (I hope you won’t listen to her) to tied Myra up and gagged her. It is typical Laine somebody else to do the dirty job. I am not saying that Myra deserves a treatment like this. You know who deserve it :)

My thoughts are with everyone who has problems of one sort or another.

Have a great day ladies!

These colors look so dramatic when used together. I like how you cut into the flower petals to show a different look to the Striped Nasturtiums . Thank you for sharing your ideas. You always inspire me.

Dear Sue: On first looking at the card I was stunned at the beauty. The die is different and paired with the sea foam green and flowers is an inspiration. Would love to be the recipient of this creation.
