Thanks

Hello bloggers!  A bit of paper piecing for you today!  I started by embossing a piece of white card with the Bed of Roses embossing folder (because I never use that one! LOL)  Next I cut the Lattice and Lace Striplet twice in white and twice in wisteria card,  I used the white striplet as the base piece and cut a black backing piece for it using just the outer die and glued them together.  I then used the fall away pieces from the wisteria card striplet and paper pieced them back into the white striplet.  I did this for each side of the card then attached them both with mounting foam.  For the focal element, I cut the largest shape in the Lisbon in white, but used the next cutting die to create a frame.  I then backed it with wisteria card and cut the smaller die in the Lisbon set into the wisteria card and used the cutting die to create a frame in that one.  I added mounting foam to the back of it and then cut the smallest die in the Lisbon set out of a piece of white card and added the frame over it.  I backed the cut out in the centre with black. I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with a small oval die and inked it with Shaded Lilac.  I cut two more ovals out of black and added them top and bottom to the sentiment to create a shadow.  I finished the card with a pierced white mat, a wisteria and black mat and a larger white mat.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  9" in size.  All for now, Sue x

I dont mind doing some paper piecing as i find it very relaxing and i know what you mean about the e/b folder as some times i have to put it back and use a different one lol. Hope you are having a lovely time in florida and not working to hard.

Hi Sue.
Not seen that folder for sometime, wondered what had happened to it lol !! I have to admit that I have my 'go to' folders too, I'm sure we all have (although I can't imagine there are too many men that appreciate row's of bows as a background on their card's ) !! I am only joking by the way, I love the tartan folder for some of my men cards, it's brilliant.
Anyway, back to today's beautiful card. Like I said in a post not so long ago, I love re-setting co-ordinating and contrasting colour's in what striplet's I have, I never tried it with those foil peel off's, never did like them and still don't, but using this technique using card and your collection of dies just looks so pretty and classier, although with my stupid odd little fingers I can't always manage it, but try when it's something I fancy doing for a change.
I must see if my craft shop has this flavour card as it's such a soothing looking colour, she does pack's of various colours for us to try, similar to what you put together for shows, she puts 2 of each new colour, which is brilliant, then I go buy a full pack (or two) of my favourites, such a great taster.
Anyway I've gone on enough against ! So I will finally finish by saying I love today's card, and wish you a lovely day Sue, whatever your plans.

Greetings Lovely Sue & equally lovely Wilsonettes! Somehow I missed Sunday's card until now...I was in awe of it - so beautiful! Then I looked at this one and I'm even more in love with it! I honestly don't know how you do it Sue! What an amazing talent you have - even more amazing is how generous you are with it. Thank you so very much! Speaking of your generosity, congrats to the comment winners - how fun!
Yesterday's & today's cards have more in common than just the Bed of Roses EF (which I'm thrilled to own)...they each feature die sets I really, really want! I want the whole collection of the Candian & Portuguese dies, but have been collecting some of the Nobles & Festive dies first. I think the Canadian background snuck it's way into my Joanna Sheen shopping cart last time! Should be on its way soon :) I need to be reasonable & patient and order one die at a time (not so damaging to the bank account that way). Eventually, I'll get them all (but my inner child is screaming at me to buy them all at one time - & that time is now!). Fortunately, my inner child can be reasoned with when I remind her she wouldn't have a roof over her head or food to eat if I obeyed her every command! She's still pouting though - oh wait, so is the grown up me.
Anyway, I'm over the moon with this card! Truth be told Sue, I bet just about any combination of your dies would look good together -so I should worry less about duplicating and concentrate on trying techniques etc.
I must get to bed as I'm working days all this week (and hopefully only 8 hrs a day instead of my usual 12) as I'll be in training. Anyway, that's why my comment is early instead of one of the last ones like usual. Hugs to all! Rebecca in Colorado

Hi, Sue,
Morning everyone. I hope your morning is as good as mine right now. Following pre-dawn fog (yes, I was up before the sun...for the dog), the sky is now a brilliant blue and the sun is shining fit to burst...it's really chilly though so not a day to spend too long outside.
Sue, I love this striplet! Yet another to add to my wish list. Right now I have an A4 ring binder and two A5 binders full of various dies (my sister says I have too much) and a certain wonderful lady keeps designing new ones that I simply MUST have. I really need to win the lottery as my sickness benefit just won't cover everything my craft room needs. I would really love to have a try at paper piecing and am going to have a try to see if I have the patience for it...it you hear rumbles and screams coming up from the south-west, you know it's not going too well lol.
As always, Sue, thanks so much for sharing your latest work of art with us and Happy Monday to everyone.

Will have to do some more adaptations for the rest of the card. Not my favourite colour combination but I will let you off as we need variety. Love paper piecing another technique I forget to use.
Molly I think it's very exciting to be a share holder. Enjoy all the benefits it brings you.
Maggie, wow I am impressed with your Grandmothering skills.
Belay I hope the paper piecing goes well.
Tracey, crikey that was a quick week. It will take time for you to heal and it's not something you can rush. Have you tried arnica though as that should help. Good luck on Thursday.
Jan, thank you I really appreciate all the kind thoughts.
It's a very miserable and foggy day here but I don't feel too bad. I am really looking forward to the NEC on Thursday but my list keeps getting longer! Hi Sue,

I just love all the striplet dies, haven't got this one yet!! The card is gorgeous though so will definitely be getting it at some point, it's just so hard to choose which dies to get first as there are so many I want or should I say need.

As I've mentioned before I'm a new crafter mainly due to having to give up work because of illness. Ive been making cards for myself to give to family and friends. But since making one for my son's girlfriend to give her brother and then her Auntie it's gone crazy everyone seems to want a card off me and it's all thanks to your dies the really do make the card look so beautiful so thank you for being so talented.

Molly lovely to hear from you, I've not long joined the blog but I know that lots of people have missed you so I think you must be one special little lady. So sorry to hear your Nan and grandad are ill and I wish them well along with everyone else. Look forward to reading your posts take care.

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Superb! A Sue Wilson classic! The composition of today's card is stunningly intricate and somewhat similar to yesterday's little beauty, albeit with totally different dies. I am so glad I splashed out on the entire Canadian collection and most of the Portugese because some of your most gorgeous designs feature these sets. Paper piecing is something that I haven't tried for a number of years....back in the dim dark days when peel offs were an absolute crafting necessity that I used on every card without exception, I still have a box full to bursting point! So trying it again will be a novelty that I am sure to enjoy. The end results are undeniably eye catching though the wisteria card looks a murky grey on my I pad I am sure it is lovely in real life. I never tire of the bed of roses EF, it's one of my favourites and features in many of my own creations, it's particularly nice with gilding wax. Thanks for the continued excellence Sue and tireless generosityxxx
I had a particularly hairy day yesterday-it started off with a seizure which then triggered off a migraine:-( I call them migraines for want of a better word, they are actually severe headaches caused by hydrocephalus which is excessive fluid on the brain. The headaches are caused by the severe pressure created by the fluid-it is like your head is stuck in a vice that is getting gradually tighter, it affects your vision and balance too. When you are in the grip no amount of analgesics can ease the symptoms, you just have to wait until it passes.
Still feel abit foggy today but much better by all accounts. So much so that I decided to take my mobile back to O2 for repair- the battery has been running down within the hour after a full charge and was feeling suspiciously hot to the touch, seemingly it's a manufacturing flaw with the S4. I am debating over whether to upgrade but if I'm completely honest I can't justify my need for a phone more sophisticated than I am! Besides, it's close to Christmas and I would rather treat my family....or buy more dies:-)....
Speaking of dies, Bejay, never fell guilty about how many you have amassed, I have ten folders full to the brim of dies for every occasion imagine able yet I still find a need/reason to buy more. I'm going to need an extension on my craftroom if I continue at my current rate!
Sandra and the girls, hope you enjoyed your dirty weekend away 'crafting'....more like drinking and marauding I imagine:-) Hope your hangovers aren't too brutal!
Tracey, not long to go before your results, arthritic fingers and crossed in anticipation:-) a few more cheeky reds may calm those nerves and help you to sleep...though I don't recommend trying out that colouring whilst under the influence!
Rebecca, talking of being under the influence, what on earth had you taken before you came up with that dream sequence?.....and can I have some:-) I loved it though, it totally sums up just how bonkers most of us are on this delightful blog. I hope we get more of the same if you re not too busy with work this weekxxx
Molly, I am so impressed with your business sense at such a young age- I remember that for my thirteenth birthday I wanted the new Wham album...long before your time honey!...and a new pair of roller boots....my old ones were a size 5 and too big for me, I'm a size3 and my mum thought I'd grow into them, as a result they were stuffed with inner soles!
To want to invest in something that you are passionate about is admirable and I hope you re loyalty pays dividendsxxx
Huge hugs to Yvonne, Beth, Wheely Bad, Deb C, Theresa , Jan, and all my blog buddies who are in special need or would just like one anyway!
Off to escape into the worlds of Emmerdale, Eastenders and Corriexxx

Hi Sue
I was stuck at the hospital all day today so I hope no one will mind that I'm putting my comment in so late (a day late)
I think this card is beautiful and I love that technique - I have tried it will a few of my striplets and it always works so well.
