Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello my crafty friends!  It's another Wednesday card giveaway for you and this one is one of my favourites from the last show I did with Julia.  The Justrite Rose Bouquet stamp set is such a lovely one to use, I had to stop myself from picking it up constantly!  I started with the background and used the Justrite Iron Swirls background and stamped it using a clear Perfect Medium pad on to coconut white card.  I heat embossed it with white powder and used a Shaded Lilac distress pad to lightly ink the edges and bring out the stamped image.  I used the Rows of Bows Pinpoint embossing folder and embossed a wide strip and added it to the bottom of my stamped background.  Using the Filigree and Classic bow and matching ribbon dies, I added a border using the Classic as a base in purple and the Filigree over the top in white.  I made a single bow to match and added it in the centre.  For my focal element, I stamped the Rose Bouquet and cut it out with the Decorative Frames Set B from the California Collection.  I stamped my sentiment to the side in the open area of the die cut.  While still in the die, I inked lightly with Shaded Lilac before removing.  I stamped the Rose Bouquet another time and cut out the flowers and a few leaves.  I coloured them with distress markers and added them atop with mounting foam.  I glittered the roses with Diamond Snow by adding a small amount of dries clear glue to the flowers then sprinkling them with the glitter.  I finished the card with a pierced white mat, a thin purple mat and a final white mat and two pearls in the upper corners.  The finished dimensions are 7" x 8 1/4" in size.
If you would like to be entered in the drawing for this week's card, just leave a comment on the post today.  I will draw a name and post the winner on Saturday's post.  All for now, Sue x

morning Sue
A truly beautiful gift today Sue and although there's no big bow or sparklers it's so elegant and ladylike. Today's colours are beautiful but please when I've just decided that the last two stamps are to be the last purchase for a while - having just ordered two of your stamps to die for which fit your new French collection - you produce the most gorgeous flower stamp. I know I'm a self confessed useless stamper with large stamps but I really am trying to overcome that so today's stamp will just have to go onto my wish list which is growing faster than Topsy did.

Well my adventure yesterday was a great flop. The craft shop is as large as any of the chain HS and like them sells a bit of everything but here is really is a bit of everything unless you're into drawing and painting. Every time I visit I wonder why I do it but I suppose it's the crafter in me which says 'they may have changed'. So I came out with two little notepads on which sentiments can be stamped on.
Then off to the Orange shop to collect our new 'livebox' taking along our disconnected old one to exchange. We were attended to by a very young nice man - you know that old saying of 'when you think Policemen look like babies' well this young man looked all about 12 years of age but he spoke some English so that was a bonus. We get along OK in French but when it comes to computer speak all French goes out the window so we considered ourselves lucky as he was the only one in the shop that did speak English.
He sorted us out - new contract/new livebox and instructions on how to load etc and in his words 'type this number in and it will only take you 2mins'. Two mi
ns he said!! We arrive home at 13.30hrs had a bit of lunch and then down to the task. I managed to install and connect two tablets by 17.00hrs!!! Of course it didn't help when someone kept appearing and asking how it was going. (you knew that one was coming didn't you). But I managed to keep my temper and the carpet beater stayed on its hook!!!!
It was a very close thing though when in the middle of our evening meal he uttered 'I suppose it wouldn't have taken so long if we knew what we were doing'. Isn't it a really good job that we love our other halves.

Sandra = I've missed you for the last couple of days. Hope you're infection has gone and that you're now ready for the off tomorrow. Take care on both sides of the water and have a really good rest and enjoy your holiday with your wonderful girls and of course hubby.

Hope that all are feeling a little better this morning. Take care if out on expeditions etc. See you tomorrow.

Hi Sue, morning early riser Wide awake Wilsonettes ! Morning to all. Sounds like school assembly lol.
Firstly, sorry I didnt see it was your birthday Barbie, hope you had a day full of crafty gifts, let's face it, do we ever suggest anything else for 'gift days' ? : )
To Leo's Nanny, stay strong. And also, yesterday's sentiment was sent back to you Sue and my beautiful friends.
Today HAS to be a craft day as I did nothing yesterday although I did try on a few occassions, but the 'beast' inside me won the fight ! So I kind of snoozed the day away !
Today's giveaway gift is beautiful Sue. It shows the beautiful background stamp and new row's of Bow's EF so stunningly, what an amazing job you have done with all 3 new EF's and I must treat myself really soon (if I dont feel to guilty dipping into my market tin) ! I have always loved 'colouring' even as a child I spent many an hour alone in my bedroom with my pencils and colouring books, but no matter how I try my shading (which sounds more adult than colouring) looks nothing like your's does Sue, it always looks so perfect.
I suppose it comes down to knowledge and talant, and a lifetime of crafting with mom etc, but it always amaze's me how you manage to think up all these different designs. I wish I knew how you started with an idea. I look at my card, stamp collection, EF's and dies, and think "now what" is it because I dont have all my stash in one place so forget what I have, although all stamps/dies etc are all together, but not having an artistic creative mind I find it so hard to put it together and see the end result in my mind before I make a start, I wish I knew the secret !

Well its a dull morning here in Bolton, but today's gift has added sunshine to my living room : )
Im sending today's sentiment to you Sue, and to Eco in France, your villiage sounds wonderfully sleepy and relaxing, who'd have thought divorce and hubby bashing was so prolific in such a pretty place lol. Hope you found a few crafty bits to buy on your long journey to your 'local' craft store lol.
Pam - hope your brother is winding down a little and finding it easier to open up.
Tina E - hope you have a better day today with fewer tears and more smiles, but there again, Wednesdays are to you as Thursdays are to me xx

To my wonderful special friends, you know who you are as you are so genuine, I send my love today and wish you a happy day and a day with less pain and more laughter.
From Lancashire Steph, 'beast' and flap about stubby, we Love You : )

Gorgeous card I love all of your embossing folders I could only afford to buy one one of your new ones - check board and it't my "go to" at the moment I have a pack of coloured card that I'd gone off - has a sort of textured look print but embossed it and used gilding wax and it's turned into something quite fabulous I think it's because the pattern is small so suitable for small and large cards alike Will definitely invest in the other two when pennies allow

Good morning Sue & friends,
Firstly I must apologise, I have not been sleeping so well, too much to think about I think! Si just haven't got to pick up IPad and check in!
Sue today's card is gorgeous, I get so excited when you use some of the Calfornia Collection Dies as I have these ones and it's great to get the inspiration! I will put the 'rows of bows EF on my list with your gorgeous vines stamps at the top! It's my birthday in a couple of weeks, so you never know, otherwise maybe I could pick them up at AP!
Margaret (corgi owner) thank you so much for your message yesterday, I was exhausted and your lovely words really made me smile, thank you lovely lady! Xx
Pat, thank you also and I really hope you get to Swanage! Can't wait to catch up when we get home xx
Sue (mrs B) same to you, hope you are ok and not too busy, hugs xx
Well my lovely hubby is home today to start the packing of the car, seeing the size of the haul of 'essentials' makes me seriously doubt that it will fit in, Paul seems to pack it all in though, he turns the car into a 'Tardis', I have seriously tried to down scale things this year as we bring so much back unused!
Clothes I have been packing year on year that still have labels on, this year I am leaving some of them at home! I should take a leaf out of Paul's book, he always says that all he needs is a Carrier bag with a few bits in, well I have done his packing and there is no way he is fitting that lot in a carrier bag, I am a bit of a panicker you see and I 'have to take things just in case'! Silly really but you can bet that the year i don't take the Imodium, some one will get a dodgy tummy!
I also panic about packing my meds, as if I did, it would be holiday over! I have some good news on that front too.....after years of chronic (and I really do mean chronic) heartburn/indigestion my doctor has prescribed me 'omeprazole' it works like magic! I can't tell you how relieved I am, I am pretty sure it's the cocktail of drugs I take including a large amount of morphine that is to blame, that and my anxiety and panic attacks, but I used to get terrible heartburn wether I had eaten or not, it was miserable from morning tonight, I am so pleased!
Well I hope that all of you lovely ladies are ok, I have missed you terribly the last couple of days, big hugs to all of you xxxxx

Good Morning Sue and all the wilsonette ladies, love this card what a beauty. I have bow embossing folder and bow dies not given them a go yet - school holidays are preventing me getting in my craft room! Tilly has been in to make my birthday cards - mini crafter in the making but it looks like a bomb has hit! I love the stamp and colours have found a great amazon shop that does justrite at a really good price only problem they ship from USA - no postage costs but a bit of a delay for stuff but worth it for the savings. My gingerbread stamp set en route as we speak,

Thank you for all the birthday wishes, had a great day and was spoilt plus te weather stayed nice as today it is bucketing down!

Steph, you must sleep when you need it. I have always believed your body tells you if you need it and that it is the greatest of all healers. Having spent all my life working ridiculous random shifts I have stopped apologising for sleeping at odd times. The only person who understands is my friend who spent years working long haul!

Norah, looking forward to your exploits today after our Blue Peter memories yesterday do you remember the tufty club the squirrel that taught you road sense??

Sandra, when I over pack I remind myself that there are shops wherever I am going so most things f to gotten can be bought! However, that's not your meds take care with them can't tell you the number of people who turned up in A andE when I worked near the airport who had forgotten meds fr hols including Insulin - unbelievable!

Well Ladies I have rambled, love you all, Sue may be a crafty inspiration but each of you are inspirational in your own way.

Hi Sue. Today's card is soooo beautiful !! I love everything about it !! The Justrite background stamp looks really lovely using white on white embossing. I think you have done a great job with the use of the shaded lilac ink pad. It really makes the background "pop" !! I love my Californian decorative frames and again your use of the shaded lilac really brings out the beauty of the die. Your photos are spot on today !! I love the Justrite Roses stamp, your beautiful bow and your beautiful background EF. All of them are on my huge crafty wish list !! I saw you demo this card on one of your C+C shows and I thought then, how absolutely stunning it was !! I also love the colours you have used, which seem to be mostly coconut white, shaded lilac ink, and purple. Beautiful colour combo !! I would love the chance to win this card Sue, it is gorgeous !! Thank you.
I hope you have a lovely day today Sue. Lots of love from Tres x x x

To all the Wondeful Wilsonettes, I hope you all have a lovely day today everyone. Sending you all lots of love from Tres x x x

Hi Sue, what an amazing card . Love the colours used and the way you have put extra leaves on the side. The rose stamp is just beautiful another item on my must have list. Lol lynne m x x

Fur babies decided that they hadn't brought stones in from the garden for a while so to make up for it they played lets get mum
" running around" by bringing in a stone dumping it in the lounge and running out to get another one whilst I fell over the first ones picked them up and put them back outside. So not playing this game as they've got 4 legs each and I've only got 2 little legs ( I think walking so much in the forest I lost at least another 2 inches in height) so put a gate across the lounge door. My fur babies can give the most pampered diva a run for their money at sulking. When hubby came home they were all over him as if to say "he'd let us do it" hah he would then call me to sort them out!!!!

Lol and massive hugs to all my friends. Hope everyone manages to find some sunshine whether its in the sky or inside yourselves.

Lol lynne m & fur babies x x x

So explicit. Am also behind on family cards let alone starting Christmas!! Will try and do better now that things are back to normal. I do so love your craftsmanship and the relaxed way that you put everything over to us. I sometimes wonder 'why didn't I think of doing that' but its your expertise that is so impressive to mer. What seems to take you about 10 mins. tends to take me 2 hours to even get myself organized with my cardmaking. Take care Hugs Maureen

Hi Sue,
I loved this card when I first saw you demonstrating it on TV. Thanks so much for giving us a closer look. To see each element so clearly is such a help. I ,too , decided that although the stamp was gorgeous I didn't really need it! However - having seen it up close and personal - its another on the list. Your roses look real - just beautiful. I love this EF and use it lots with the bow dies - nice with a little bow on top too!!
Sandra - so pleased you are ok. Great news about the drug to help with heartburn. Have a safe, smooth journey and a lovely holiday. Bon voyage! x
Barbiepinkfairy I remember Tufty . When we came to live in Lancashire and boys went to school Wellyphant used to come with the Fire Service - about danger of matches etc. he was an elephant in wellies wearing a firemans helmet. Was he a Lancashire mascot or was he a National one? I do know he wasn't a real elephant!!!
Sending love and hugs to all on the blog including Norah, Steph, Anne, Julie L ( hope you ok ) , Wheelybad, Janet, Brenda L, Lynda, Lynne, Margaret, June, Tres, Linda, Tandy, Heather , Ita , Pam and Robbie , baby Leo and Meg, and Yvonne M .

Good afternoon Sue and fellow Wilsonettes, What a beautiful card yet again Sue with the white embossing on the background(that stamp is pretty) and the beautiful roses topper. A really pretty card with its bow and pinpoint embossing at the bottom just finishes it off. We are so very, very lucky in our choice of friendships and in having such a talented friend like you.
Barbiepinkfairy, i am so sorry that i didn't say happy birthday yesterday. I hope that you had a lovely day and you were rightly spoiled and go you on your bike, i think i have the wee basket for the front if you want a part in the midwives drama. As for Tufty, i don't remember him, it was Darth Vader that was the green cross code man. And we "didn't" have a television set s we though right up until we were about 8. We only found out that the furniture with legs and a lace runner on the top with doors on it was actually one. Do you get the feeling that my mum and dad didn't agree with children watching too much telly? I do remember the Magic Roundabout with Dougall and Florence and Zebedee etc, and Bill and Ben the flowerpot men, and Windy Miller and Noddy. That was in the days that what was said was clean with no ignorant and horrible connotations about them. Or coming in from school to Play School or Playaway or Take Hart with Morph. I know i tried to win a Blue Peter badge for years without success. Yip there is a lot to be said for old fashioned programs and Mary Whitehouse.
Thank you Sheila, i could feel that hug and i am so glad your daddy is well. Just make sure you tell him just how much he means to you as sometimes although we think that they already know it, it is nice to tell them how much. You must be gie tired after the marathon trip as it's a lot in one day, so try and rest today if possible.
Janet(Ecco) i like the use of the royal we there in "if we had known how to" i didn't realise that Mr E was so technically minded like that and i would agree, it is amazing that the carpet beater was still in it's original hanging place. Gritted teeth and hauding yer wheest sometimes is all we have been sanity and ending up in the local hospital when you have lost all sense of reasoning. Do they have the wee men in white coats across in Burgandy?
Well i hope that you and your wee brother George and having a good time Pam. He maybe just needed his big sister to give him that hug that says everything IS going to work out ok, but if he is in the market for a few from outsiders, i am sending him one down as well as you.
Nanna Tina, when my mum turned 70 this year i made her a card that was almost like a star card but every page related to a different period in time for her and what she loved doing. It might be an idea for your mum as i know means after she stopped crying loved it and what it represented.
Sandra, i wish you a lovely holiday when you get to the other side of the water and into situ. Remember you are only as old as you feel so leave the tired knackered Sandra at home and take the new upgraded version to have a lovely time with the girls and your lovely O.H.
Steph, you and me must have been in the same place as a youngster because i love how colouring in has become fashionable and i can now do it as an adult, but we now know why we couldn't get the results as a child with our wee pack of pencils. We just done it with a lighter or heavier touch when we were wee. Hope you're feeling a bit better today flower.
Hugs to young Robbie and our wee baby Leo.
Lynne flower, try to ignore them and see what happens, maybe nothing or they may actually think "oh mum's no fun" and stop it after a few coming in and staying where they put them. Glad that you are back Lynne as missed you and furbabies exploits. I hope that you are feeling a lot better the now and enjoying it while you have it.
From a miserable Glenochil i send hugs to the Wilsonettes with love, take care everyone,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah
