Split Die Aperture

Hi crafters!  The good news is that I have a great video for you to watch today.  The bad news is that it seems that I missed photographing today's card.  I have searched through all my files and somehow it has slipped through my photography session.  There is, however, one lovely picture that was taken by the videographer.  I have decided to make it up to you by adding an additional card below (but that doesn't mean you can get away without watching the video! LOL)

Buy from Joanna Sheen

I made this card last year and it just hasn't had it's day on the blog so today was the perfect excuse.  I started with a piece of the Teresa Collins paper and covered it with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I peeled the backing paper off and micro beaded it.  I stamped the ball gown (from the Belle of the Ball stamp set by Creative Expressions) with a coffee Archival on to a patterned paper and embossed it.  I cut just the gown out and paper pieced it on to another stamped image which I cut out as well. I mounted the image with foam on to the background.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with Italian Frame die set.  I inked through the die with tea dye distress ink before removing it.  I created a wide  frame with the Grand Square dies.  I cut another frame that was thinner and layered it up on top of the first frame.  I  stamped the four corners with one of the corner stamps from the Belle of the Ball stamp set  and added mounting foam to the back of the frame.  I placed the frame over the background.  Using the Vintage floret dies, I cut several different sizes out of cream coloured felt.  I inked the edges with Tattered Rose, offset the flowers and added pearls to the centres.  I scattered the roses around the sentiment with a twine bow.  I added a pearl swirl behind the dress.  To finish the card, I added a wide milk mat with a double taupe mat.  I used Cosmic Shimmer pearl PVA glue to add dots all the way around the frame.  The finished dimensions are 7" x 7" in size.

I have something fun for you tomorrow.  I have never done anything like this before so I hope you will join me for something that is a first time event for me.  I'm saying no more, but I think you will like it!   All for now, Sue x

Good morning. Sue
I'm glad you never had the photo for today's card because it means we get a 'twofer' lol. I will watch the video with a coffee after I've posted. I love both cards and the second card has reminded me that I have the dress set of stamps so I must get them out to use. The dress stamp is so pretty when stamped and embossed and can be used for many 'girly' occasions (I've also used it on a wedding card)

Oh Sue that is some card! Great video - thanks - love the way you did the double frame and a good bit of work for the centre section - then - chop!! And didn't it just work so well? Don't have any of these dies (except the roses) but could perhaps improvise. Know I say this to the point of being annoying - but LOVE the embellishment.
Great second card, too, and wonder what tomorrow will bring.

I am lucky as when walking my dog he is too scared to wander too far from me. Apart from the time some great danes came into the park and when we all stood chatting Ozzie sat out in the middle of the field away from everyone. Off to take my Mum shopping today and I hope the weather holds as it is a lot easier in the dry.

Hi Sue. Morning Wilsonettes. This sentiment comes back to you Sue from me.
You have started to boost my lack of confidence by giving us your time with video tutorials. I do try to look at my dies in a different light, by turning and cutting. People look at me amazed when I look at them amazed when they pass comment on my cards at market, but I dont always see what they do ! So you are helping my work to grow and I cant thank you enough.
Today's cards are so beautiful. I have none of the dies or stamps but I know I can improvise with what I have. Cant wait to see our suprise tomorrow : )

Pam Im so pleased to read you are now potless love. Get thise muscles working and plenty of moisturiser.
Barbie - Im an imposter ! We moved here 4yrs ago to be near our only daughter (Brummie born n bred) and NO we dont talk like toise fools that try to immitate us lol. So no family or friends (apart from Lyn at the shop) whom I saw yesterday : ) thank goodness for crafting or I know for certain Id go mad as I do need friends to care for ! My cardstock and dies are my friends - sometimes lol !
Cam where are you ? Im missing you. Hope all is well.
Lynn loved your story yesterday, thanks for making me laugh out loud
: )
To Pam, Barbie, TOB, Tina E, Margaret, Janet, Julie et al plus those that have time to shiw you really care this sentiment goes to you also.
Trying to get comfortable to 'work' but its not happening, my interest has wained a little and I dont know why !
Time to take tgat awful medicine, find sime comfort and shake some ooomph into myself and get cracking ( I have to smoosh with some dies LOL)
So I will send my love and heartfelt cuddles to you Sue and all my lovely ladies. Welcome Sally- Ann. Enjoy this wonderful site.
Love you.

Hi Sue.
You are so right. It is a beautiful card and the video is really easy to follow too. I don't have a lot of the dies you used but like you said you could try it with anything you do have. Amazing how one cut can change the whole appearance.
I'm really tired today so I'm off for lie down. Take care everyone.
Lots of love

Hi Sue,
Great video! Such a clever way to use the dies . We learn something new each day! Love both cards but the one on the video is my favourite. What are you getting up to tomorrow? At this rate this week I'll be one of the last to find out.
Going to Godalming tomorrow to friends for the weekend . After a weeks crafting with kids I think I'll sleep all the way!
Pam - hope you had a good night without the "pot".
Norah - hope you are ok. Missing you and sending hugs to make you feel better. x
Dawn - I would just like the figure to fit in the dress! You made me smile.
Barbiepinkfairy - you are having a fun summer holiday.
You'll be on Bake-Off next!
Lynne - your doggie tale made me laugh - our Labrador used to sit and gaze at a drawer each night at 10 pm as she got a few doggie chocs at that time every night!
Ita - hope you got on alright yesterday.
Clare W - hope the A game went with you and that you had a good day!
Steph - hope you feeling a bit better now. Sending a hug.

Hi Sue,
I'm really quite pleased that you forgot to take the photographs! This way we get to see two cards! Both are lovely and I think my favourite is the original. Intrigued about tomorrow - you do like to tease sometimes!

Maureen, I actually live just south of Durham at Ferryhill, but thanks for the offer. Had a rubbish day today - got absolutely soaked to the skin twice - couldn't believe it! It's a good job skin is waterproof that's all I can say! Pam, really pleased that you've got your pot off at last. Just take is steady though, you don't want to do any more damage. Lynne, I really had a good laugh at the pesky critters' antics of yesterday! Their stomachs always get the better of them though. Is your hubbie cottoning on to the fact that they are not as perfect as he thinks?! Cameeli and Norah missing you both. Steph hope all is well with you. Love to all above and Lindsay, tres, Myra, Julie, Gail and anyone else I've missed. Love Alison xx

After a long day yesterday we were up early to collect exam results (AS levels so another year to go). Emma did really well getting B grades so we can start the university visits knowing her results to hopefully get good offers. Take care Sue and enjoy your evening. Love Diane G xxx

Pam thank you for your kind comments , yes have got some lovely memories of my uncle and met his 8 children many for the first time so more cousins to add to the large family!!! Take care of yourself xxxx

Sandra hope you had a lovely birthday.

Norah sending you a big crafty hug LOL

Steph, thought of you today, used the dreaded !!! flakes with granddaughter she thought they were brilliant - but I had to keep telling her - touch them gently and DO not to breath on them. It was lovely, because I felt that I was opening doors and she was like a big sponge just soaking up all the details. That's the pleasure you get working with children. LOL

Pam, take it a day at a time - carefully!!! Big hugs to Robbie you should all be so proud of him ( I am ) Love and Prayers xxx
