The Bells Of Christmas

Hello my crafty friends!  Not that I want to bombard you with Christmas cards, but I do have quite a few to share and it is getting on.  Christmas will be here before you know it!  Today's card is at the opposite end of the spectrum from yesterdays card with it's soft blue and white colour scheme.  I started this one off by cutting two of the Reflective Moments dies in coconut white card.  I cut both of them in half and used the two halves that are identical (this die has an asymmetrical look to it).  I taped the back to hold the pieces together then added mounting foam.  I cut a larger piece of coconut white card and added double sided sticky tape all the way around the edges, then covered it with Iced Snow to add a bit of bling to my edge.  I mounted my trimmed die cuts to this then cut two Tranquil Moment dies, cut the edge straight, then crisscrossed the dies and added them to the middle.  I stamped my Bells of Christmas stamp by Justrite using a clear Perfect Medium pad on to Sky Blue card.  I heat embossed the image with true white powder and cut it out with the matching Vintage Labels Two die.  I lightly inked the die cut with Stormy Sky Distress ink before removing it which helped add a bit of depth and bring the white embossed lines out more as well.  I mounted it in the middle of my card with mounting foam.  The card was then finished with a white paper pierced mat, a thin sky blue mat and a final white mat.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" in size.

I do have to admit to a bit of a mistake on my part with yesterday's blog hop card.  I used an embossing folder that hasn't been released yet and didn't realise the blunder until I started the write up on the card!  I am hoping that it will be ready in time to put on to my next shows in September, so if you liked it, you will have to tune in to those.

The winner of this week's Wednesday Weekly Card giveaway is:

Lynne Mills!!!

Congratulations!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your card.  All for now, Sue x

Hi. Sue
I love cards that do not have to be for one occasion and a change of words or picture and it can be for anything.
Norah belated birthday wishes for your lad,, my children had 2nd hand games as the full price was way out of our reach and with 7 wanting games we had our work cut out as they all wanted different and I know about form filling you need a degree to work them out and if you don't cross your 't' or dot the 'I' they send them back or reject them and you have to start again
Gentle hugs for baby Leo love and big hugs to all the Wilsonettes.
Congratulations to Lynne on winning Wednesdays card
Looking forward to seeing your new EF next month
Love and hugs
Happy crafting

Hi Sue,
First The Embossing Folder from yesterday I Just Loved it, I didn't think I'd seen it before but the old grey cells have so much happening at present!
Today's Card is Truly Striking, Rich, Awesome and Extremely Elegant as you can see I Just Love It, and Please Continue to Bombard us with The Christmas Cards etc: as with all your Cards if you look further into them you can always take something from them.
I Love to look at your Cards in depth they have such Great Detail, and in some cases by changing The Stamp or colour of The Card it can be made more personalised.
Maybe I'm naughty though as I Love to try and copy your Fantastic work not always with the same results Lol!
I Love The Soft Blue and Coconut White Card you've chosen so Beautiful together, I Love how you went around one of your pieces of Card with The Fabulous Iced Snow to add Bling, Then using numerous Dies to create your Card I always Love how you create more from a Die Cut by cutting into them.
The Awesome Stamp you've used The Bells Of Christmas by JustRite is Stunning I Love how you've Heat Embossed in The True White Embossing Powder, then lightly Inked over using Stormy Sky Distress Ink, it Looks Outstanding.
Sue I can't Thank You enough for your Hard Work, For The Great Tips and Techniques, Thank You for The Photography Shots, Thank You For This Wonderful Blog!
Sue From Me Personally: A Huge Thank You For The Daily Inspiration You Share With Me I Can't Begin To Tell You How Much I Appreciate It Thank You So Very Much.

morning Sue
Bombard away Sue - I have started my C.cards but only the ones that I do for charity. I have yet to decide on what I'm doing for family/friends. Usually by this time of year I've nearly finished but it's the other way around this year. So Please Please C.cards for inspiration needed.
Today's gift is wonderful; soft/gentle and so beautiful just like newly fallen snow all clean and white. This one's certainly gone into my 'must keep and do' file.

Norah - so pleased to see you back. Oh that's doesn't sound quite right does it as you're suffering with that part of you. Anyway please take more care of yourself and hoping that you're somewhat better today. DO NOT RUSH into things please.
We leave everything here when we have to return - except of course my crafting that has been completed and other things we have purchased like some wine and veg from the garden which will not keep until we return in October/November - We don't have to take any clothes etc as we have everything here we need but he still grumbles re have we bought all this! etc.

Cam - has anyone heard anything from Cameeli since she returned from the Big Apple?

Steph - re 'you're an imposter'. The village where I was born in and grew up in and still live in although it has grown in size to become part of Sheffield and isn't really a village now in size but to us it's still 'the village'. If you move into High Green then you have to be there for at least 30 years before you're not an 'incomer'.

Well our visit yesterday was wonderful - after not being able to move for stalls and people last week-end yesterday we were back to the usual market and very few people. In fact we didn't see any of the usual characters at all. Perhaps they were all still recovering from the hustle and bustle.
Our pastries were superb - mine this week was a concoction of three chocolates - the usual pralaine bottom with a mixture of milk choc - quite thick- on top and then dark choc mousse on top of that dustered with choc powder and to finish off pieces of white choc on top!! Talk about 'death by choc' that certainly was. Mr E has the most fantastic Rum Baba - the usual bottom sponge swimming in rum essence but on top it had thick cream and set into that were a selection of fruits - cherry; half a strawberry; piece of kiwi and a piece of nectarine!!
Talk about an overload of cholestrol/calories (which according to himself all disappear when cut into) a REGIME/diet is definitely on the cards when we return to the UK.

Hope everyone is feeling a little better and looking forward to a lovely week-end. Take care and see you tomorrow.
Janet x

Hi Sue. Happy Weekend Wilsonettes. PAM - where are You ?!!?
Woohoo - Lynn well done gal, keep that sensational card away from the crazy 4, oops 8 paws when it arrives. You really make me LOL with some of your tails (no pun intended) : )

This card is a positive W.O.W (wonder of Wilson) it's everything I adore in card making, dainty, soothing, delicate, just a perfect start to my morning. Thank you.
Didn't do much hopping yesterday as for the last few day's I've been so close to throwing in the towel, putting everything in a box or 10 and 'lofting' it all well out of site ! I think Ive overwhelmed myself with all the idea's of cards I want to offer at the next market (next Sunday) all the beautiful dies etc I want to do these cards and lack of funds to acheive them. So Id put myself down into a bit of a low, so yesterday I shook myself out of my 'paddy' and started to catch up using the things Im lucky to have !! But although I cant comment in ther DT blogs, Im sure I will enjoy windiw shopping : )
Your 'sneak peak' was delightful, it looks to be so pretty and delicate, that will be on order with 'our Lyn' I shall be going to stroke and swoon at your new C.dies later Sue, so my Saturday will be a lovely crafty one (in parts)

Hope you are well and happy Sue. To my dearest friends, here in Lancs, Yorks, Oolala oolala villiage, South East and West, I send you my love, and if any of those friends dont feel so good, if I could take it for you I would.
Love you.
Lancashire Steph xx

Hi Sue , omg omg omg omg omg I won the Wednesday giveaway. To say I'm over the moon is sooooooo an understatement. Doing a dance around the lounge with poochies joining in jumping up and down. Thank you so much Sue I will treasure it. x x x

Back down to earth now, todays card is beautifully delicate, love the sky blue/white combo just says Xmas to me ( not into traditional colours). The iced snow adds a lovely touch of bling. Thanks for sharing lol lynne m x x x x

Layin this morning till 5:40am - well can't get over having 10 mins extra in bed. Poochies realised the time so started to jump around eager to go out. Off we go to poochies favourite spot in the forest. Cully still has a cob on for the breakfast incident I'm sure cuz the little b every time she went near the bushes/trees growled loudly to draw our attention to her as if to say watch me I might go in if you don't. To make sure there was no further problems we made our way further and further away from the trees. This did not go down well with Cully at all so she took to chasing Tilly all over the place. It turned into a free for all as Tilly got fed up being pounced on. Some of the moves they used would make professional wrestlers jealous. Time out!!!!! definitely time to go home. Now they're stretched out side by side fast asleep yeah peace for awhile. Gonna make the most of it as hubby out all day so the pesky critters are bound to drive me nuts.

Pam - sorry to hear you had a fall please take care x x x

Lindsay, June, Karen, Alison, Maria, Norah, Maureen, Barbara, Mrs B, Margaret, Julie, Tres, Steph, Angela, Frances and all have a great day lol and massive hugs from pesky critters xxxxxxx

Love the card today Sue, and I hadn't noticed the background yesterday, so I had to go back to see! I had problems getting round the hop - the link to Neil didn't work, so I went beyond him and they backwards! I think I managed to complete it, but every one I have ever tried seems to want to thwart me some how or other. Congrats to Lynne, as usual, I am dead envious.

Good morning Sue and my fellow Wilsonettes,
Oh what a stunning card Sue and it doesn't actually say Christmas so it could be for any winter occasion, but WOW is it pretttyyyyy.
I love the colours of the pale blue and the iced snow glistening in the background. OOOooo, today's card will be a winner with anyone i reckon.
BRILLIANT news LYNNE, i hope you and his majesty's princesses enjoy your stunning win when it arrives.
Cheryl B, sending you a healing hug flower with wee prayers for you. You will beat this with the power of love here on Sue's blog and in your outside world. My thoughts and love is with you.
Pam, i am hoping that the foot is feeling a lot lighter now that you have left the hot pot behind. Sending hugs to you and young Robbie and his family. He is doing so well as each breakthrough he makes must be so energy draining and tiring for him.
Thank you so very very much for your kindness everyone for Rory's birthday wishes. To me he is a very special lad as he is so very different from even his sister. Where as my daughter wants all the names and things, Rory is quite happy with anything he gets. When he was at nursery he had all the patter to woo the ladies even then. He has this thing about smells and touchy feely things. He would go up to one of the teachers and the first thing my boy would say is "MMh, you smell nice" or "you look pretty today". Well who wouldn't be flattered at that? At Christmas and the end of the summer term i would have to buy 7 sets of necklace and earrings for all his ladies at the nursery, not just his teacher, it used to cost me a fortune and he has continued through his school years with it. Now it includes the taxi driver and escort he has now as well. If offered a sweet, he would ask if he could have two as one would be for his sister, his sister on the other hand would only ever take the one...for her. I have always said that i could have had a lot worse to deal with than Autism and i still believe this to be true, i am so very lucky to have such a lovely lad.
Congratulations Jean on the wonderful new grandchild news.
Oh Janet, i can feel the migraine coming on with just that description of your chocolate cake. I like Mr E. train of thought about the calories disappearing. I wonder if that just happens with French pastries/cakes? I think you will need to keep up the supply of cakes to keep Mr. E sweet for packing up and driving back across the water. And talking about incomers, living in Sauchie was definitely like that when we moved in there in the 70's. It was a case as we found out that unless your great grannies were born and bred there, you were an incomer.
well i had better go but i hope you all have a lovely weekend, sending gentle hugs to all the special people of this lovely blog,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (a cool darker Glenochil)

Firstly, I thoroughly enjoyed yesterday's blog hop. I have to admit that it was the first time I'd checked out the blogs of the other CE DT members and was really impressed by their work. Secondly, I really like today's card and could see myself making this in a variety of colours for "C...." So thank you for that and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Beautiful card Sue, two of my favourite colours! Enjoyed the blog hop and managed to leave comments on all the blogs.
Watched Sam's first show this morning and loved her new stamps. She took plenty of ribbing about her pregnancy especially being on with Nigel who is the master of innuendos, she took ait all well and had a good laugh.

JACKIE TRINDER your card samples were amazing especially Dasher in the pop up box, Nigel loved it too!!!
LYNNE congratulations on winning a Sue masterpiece, don't know what your girls are like with post but Ben watches for the postman every morning and shreds the mail if I don't get to it first.
STEPH I know what you mean it would be great to go out and buy all Sues dies, stamps and embossing folders all at once. This hobby is so addictive and there is so much stuff I want and cant get it is so frustrating. If only we could win the lottery and have it all!!!!!!!!

Hi Sue

Lol, the EF slip up passed me by too, I just thought "thats pretty" and thought maybe when I "upsize" I would look for it. It happens to the best of us! Today's card is lovely. The bells stamp would do well for a wedding, I agree with others that a change of stamp would change the card to any occasion, a very pretty and versatile design. Hug and thanks always. Special hug for your Mom of course x

Pam, I hope you're ok love, having a lighter leg may be making balance a bit different from the last long months in plaster. Take it slow, get upright and just give the blood time to get back to your head before moving on. I'm being serious despite my rather poor description, hugs for you and of course Robbie.

Steph, I get frustrated too and wish I could win the lottery or find a crock of gold behind the wheely bin (no relation lol) and buy dies for all of us! Honey, if you can make sellable cards full stop you have a gift that no lack of dies will stifle. I'm sure you've done this but I get out the scrap paper, cut out a load of die cuts and hack away, see what you can make. It's a no pressure activity as you're not using your good cardstock. I find a strip of ribbon or lace, or carefully placed flowers/ embellishments hide the joins! I hope that the time away from your table yesterday relieved the pressure somewhat. Regardless I'm sending all the crafty mojo and hugs I can muster in a north-westerly direction. Take all you need x

Congratulations Lynne Mills, the stories of your fur babies crack me up. Billy is more of an oversized hairy five year old child who, as helpful as he is, knows exactly how to get our attention. He pinches Mr WheelyBads shoes and brings them to me, retrieves items I just don't want at that time or pinch something I do want! Working equals my undivided attention so if Billy is awake and not eating, sunbathing, playing in the garden or with a toy he wants cuddles or to work. He gets proper huffy if he doesn't get his way. He does this big inhale then exhale- we swear we can hear a tut as he does it! A bit like the Kevin the teenager character. He does sleep a lot though- luckily! Or I'd get even less done! He's allowed to lay on my bed with his cuddly hedgehog toy while I craft or he lays in the doorway. He's sulking at the minute as Mr WheelyBad had to nip out. Mr. W does the morning/ evening walks. I have to get up to feed him, which means I get up. He knows if I'm going to have a migraine, he gets extra clingy if I'm in a bad way. Mr W is back and he's telling me in what sounds like a chimpanzee calling!

Norah, Rory sounds lovely. I hope he had a fun birthday. My cousin has Aspergers as does my second cousins son. I worked with and coached many young people on the autism spectrum and although most of these young people had trouble with emotional response they are the kindest, most thoughtful group of people you'd ever wish to meet. I never had to worry about whether they were taking turns, equipment back at the end dilligently counted and put away. Polite and a pleasure to teach or coach. I believe that the rest of society could learn a thing or two from them!

Update- Mr W let Billy in the garden, Billy running Mr W ragged!

Well, I've been yammering a good hour or so, Going to go try and craft today or at least get messy! I didn't spend any money yesterday- indecision! Spent £lots on Billy though in tooth stuff and worm tablets though.

Hugs to all Wilsonettes, wherever you are, special hugs for baby Leo and Cheryl, also to those who are ill or in any type of pain.

T (with a now sleeping dog next to her!) Xxx

Hi All, many many thanks for all the congrats on me winning the Wednesday give away card. I am still grinning like a cheshire cat. Poochies behaved as well as can be expected today ( which means not at all) I'm now covered in texture paste cuz the pesky poochies waited until I was applying it to a stencil then barked loudly making me jump slamming my hands down in reaction on my craft desk straight onto the paste covered stencil. They beat a hasty retreat downstairs cuz I turned the air blue with my cussing. Hubby home now so its his shift to have them while I escape upstairs with a book.

Sue enjoy the rest of your time in the states.
