Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello there my crafty friends!  One of my favourite Christmas dies this year is my 2017 Angel so I thought it fitting that I used her as a Wednesday Card Giveaway.  I started with a little bit of pixie powdering to get a heavenly background for her.  I tapped Midnight Blue, Purple Twilight and White Pearl Pixie Powders on to coconut white card, then spritzed with water to activate them.  You can either allow them to dry naturally or set them with a heat tool, your choice.  I used the background to cut the twinkle stars into it and add a touch of detail.  I created a frame by using the outer and inner cutting dies from the Twinkle Star Background and cutting a coconut white frame.  I taped the die into the frame and laid it on top of an open embossing folder.  This one was Twisting Holly embossing folder.  Do not close the folder, but place a tan rubber mat over it with the cutting edges facing upwards away from the folder, add several sheets of card or paper to shim it and place the raspberry adaptor plate on top of the shims and pass it through the machine.  While still in the die, I lightly ran some White Pearl gilding polish over the embossed areas.  I added mounting foam to the back of the frame and attached it over the pixie powdered background.  I cut the Christmas Angel twice out of white card.   I just used the wing from the second one and added it to the whole angel to make her look like she had two wings showing.  I added her with mounting foam to the centre of the frame.  I created two poinsettias out of vellum using the Classic Poinsettia die set and rubbed the edges with White pearl gilding polish to give them a light iridescence.  I seated them on the corner of the frame and accented with Holly Swirls cut in white.  The card was completed with a simple white on white mat and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 1/2" in size.  Leave a comment to be included in the drawing to win this one.  The winners name will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

Gorgeous card Sue, lovely, I love the Angel. What a great giveaway.
Welcome back Meg, nice to hear from you. So glad that Leo has grown well and strong., they are delightful at that age.
Karen, take it easy and rest your ankle. I hope you are not in too much pain. What is the operation they are planning.
Denise, I too am not confident with stamping so I have a stamp press, makes it so much easier.
June hope Craft Club goes well, sounds so much fun.
Sharon please be careful, you don't want a set back although I know you get a sense of achievement when it looks nice.
Elaine,Meg has taken to hiding in Jacks bedroom, they live in a 3 story house and the boys have the top floor. There is a baby gate on the bottom stairs to stop the puppy getting up, she is really not happy with the new intruder. I hope Andrew and Helen continue to be well. How is Jihn and have you made progress with your entrance problems.
Yvonne, nice to see you, hope you start to recover soon. How is Laine, have you heard from her. Pass on my good wishes please, tell her we miss her.
Daily hugs to all, especially our poorly and missing friends.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, such a beautiful card today, how I would love to win this, the angel is gorgeous, it was the first die from the 2017 collection that I bought, I have all of them and think they are all fantastic.

Pam I reiterate all you have said, and yes I am off to my craft group today. I also agree that the stamping press (most versions) that are out there really are useful to people who have trouble stamping, I have never looked back since I bought mine, I do have some different ones because it depends on what I am stamping and the size of the card. There are a lot of them on the market nowadays, I have my favourite one though. Here is a little tip I heard recently, if you have the 'TH' one I found that my stamps were not coming out properly, so get a piece of funky foam and put this on the base (where the magnets go) to create a cushion and hey presto problem solved, it just needs an extra bit of cushioning.

Well off to get ready now and pack my bag.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Hi Sue
This is such a beautiful Christmas card , i love it !

Pam , poor Meg i expect she may get used to it in time lol, Andrew is at the Hosp today for bloods and seeing the consultant tomorrow ,he has had a really rough fortnight this time .
John has heard nothing yet, i did phone last week to ask how long is it before John will be seen, i was told , the message will get passed on to the consultant .
I was told to have the door up graded would be far too expensive , well they are not going to like me because i am not going to give up yet.

Have a very busy day today so i will echo Pam as usual .
Take care

Thanks Pam as always! Poor doggie - he has found a safe haven away from " the interloper!" Hope he comes round as the puppy calms down!
Good to see you Yvonne - sorry you are struggling a bit just now! Love to Laine if you are speaking to her on the phone! We miss her too. It's been a while now.
Elaine - hope all goes well for Andrew this week and he gets over this round of treatment fairly quickly. As for the door - well! That's awful!
Karen - I'm so sorry I meant to say I was sorry to hear you'd broken your ankle and it slipped my mind! A lot of things do !! However , I hope it isn't too painful and that the swelling goes down soon!

Beautiful card Sue . Great freebie card.I don't have these dies yet but thinking I must get them soon before it's too late. Echoing Pam's comments. Have bought a new craft table today. It folds like an ironing board (sorry to use that word) and has different heights. It's 50cm by 70cm so not too big but also not too small. Will be useful for my die cutting machine as the other one was a bit wobbly. More rain today so think it will be crafting.
