Christmas Double Day

Hi bloggers!  I hope this doesn't put you on Christmas card overload with yesterday's video and today's double day!  First up is a silver and white shaker card.  I started by cutting two of the Ornate Holly Framed Noel die in white.  I added a white backing to one of them and used it as a base, then added the second one on top of it, but offset.  I cut the inside die from the set in white and added a silver backing to it then cut the centre circular area out.  I glued a piece of acetate across the opening on the back of it, then added mounting foam to create an area for my shaker element.  I filled it with white micro beads as they really give you that snowy sort of feel! I like to encapsulate my shaker elements so I added another piece of acetate to the back area.  I find it is easier since you can now pick the piece up and nothing spills out!  I used the two circle dies in the set to create a silver frame to go around my shaker area.  I cut the Noel twice, once in silver and another in black to use as a shadow for it.  I glued them to the acetate on the shaker element.  I cut a larger piece of white card and added four strips of sticky adhesive paper to the edges.  I peeled the backing off and coated them with white micro beads as well.  I finished the card with a a couple of white mats with a silver mat sandwiched in between.  I used the Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue to add dots to the inside white mat.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  8" in size.  Scroll down for card number two.

Card number two is more traditional in it's blue and white colour combo.  I started with a piece of white card and used the decorative inner die from the Aurora Star to cut out shapes all over the background.  I backed it with a piece of French Navy card to show through the cut out areas.  For the sentiment topper, I used the centre of the Poinsettia Mini Background die cut out of white card.  I added a white backing piece to it for a nice tone on tone detail.  I matted it on a blue mat and added it to the centre of the card using mounting foam.  I cut the Christmas Blessings die several times out of French Navy card and stacked them up then added it to the centre of the card.  I completed the card with a matching white, blue white mat and layers.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  8 1/4" in size.  What's your preference on these two?  All for now, Sue x

Cheryl, lovely to see you back.
Tina, hope all us going well.
Caring hugs to Tracey, Wheelybad, Yvonne, Lorraine, Tres and all who are not well.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, oh what a glorious Friday this is with these 2 cards, I absolutely love both of them, I am going to have a go at these later, they really are fantastic.

Pam you would be welcome to my class any day, and yes they were all so very thrilled for me about my win, I keep looking at them and thinking how lucky am I.

Elaine I am very concerned about your leg too, you really need to get to the Drs. ASAP and get that checked out, if you can't get there this morning then PLEASE go straight to A&E as you could have something seriously wrong there, I don't mean to frighten you but it does need to be checked urgently.

Been up since 4:am, don't know why I could not sleep, weather looks very dull outside, there is a puddle on my neighbours garage roof so we must have had some rain in the night, that will cheer my hubby up, the garden is all cracked, he stills waters it twice a day but we do need a good down pour.

Not long now to Ally Pally ladies (and gents) I am hoping my tickets come through today, they said 5 days when I ordered them from Hochanda. Hope to see lots of you there. Last time I didn't even get a chance to talk to you Sue because you was in conference etc. with Hochanda preparing for the televised broadcast, (which I watched from the side before I went home) I did see it on catch up though, so hopefully this time I will be able to give you a special Wilsonettes hug.

My thought and special hugs are with you all, Tina, Elaine, Cheryl, Tracey, Wheelybad, Yvonne, Lorraine Tres oh yes a special one for Pam for always being there for us.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Good morning Sue and everyone. I always look forward to Christmas double days and today you've given us another two fabulous cards. I think this week number one wins it for me, I love the way you've used the micro beads for the shaker, I bet they sound good as well as look good.
Elaine, I agree with Pam and everyone, please don't wait to go back to the doctor. My Mum had something like this a few weeks ago, when she went back and saw a different doctor they said it was an infection and she needed antibiotics urgently. Hugs to all. Sue xxx

Hello Sue.

Love seeing your Christmas cards this morning and I have to say there is never too many.
My favorite is the Ornate Holly Framed Noel die. I especially like how you have used the micro beads on your frame. I must try that. I have used this die set to make several cards this week in the more traditional green and white colors with red pearls but I like the all white as well.

Have a lovely day.

Sample 1 has to be my favourite by a long way, just my kind of card, it's beautifully festive. I'm sure we will see something very similar on the SWCE fb page lovingly made by the amazingly talented Beverly Fuchs, wow, that lass does the most breath taking cards Sue, like your work, we can pick out a Sue Wilson card from all the others, and it's the same with Beverly, once seen always recognisable by its sheer beauty and design. I believe the weather is to break today/tomorrow and we certainly have a very dull start to the day so maybe it will be a good week-end for crafting.

Hi Sue,

I can never have enough of Christmas cards and yours are always stunning show stoppers. Love both designs this morning.

Had another day off yesterday when Daughter Giorgina rang to ask if I was busy as she, son Joshua, his partner Lucy and Great granddaughter Milly-May were coming to visit.
What a lovely day we had in the garden, not much sun but so warm that Milly-May was soon down to her nappy and enjoying herself immensely. She had not been up the steps to the lawn and flower beds before, so thoroughly enjoyed walking on the grass and feeling it between her little toes. After many walks up and down, she wanted to pick the flowers, and I tried to get her to smell them. She wrinkled up her little button nose and blew instead of sniffing! Bless her.
So today is finally getting my home straight again, especially the craft room.

Elaine, you need to get your leg sorted out, an infection can take hold so easily. Please go to A&E or a Minor Injuries Unit if one is close to home.

For all in need of some extra TLC, I hope you day becomes kinder to you.

Love 7 hugs

Two fabulous Christmas cards Sue and so hard to choose between them! For me I think the first is more my kind of card though have never used micro beads before. Great inspiration for us all so thank you x
