Christmas Double Days

Hello fellow bloggers!  Another Christmas double day and it has come around so soon.  The big day will be upon us before we know it at this rate! LOL   You had a look at this first card during the blog launch but I thought I would give it it's day on the blog so you could get a closer look and the written details about it,  I started by cutting the background using the Poinsettia Border inner die several times across a piece of coconut white card.  I attached it to another piece of coconut white card with a sticky adhesive sheet in between.  I added Diamond Sprinkles to the exposed areas for a tone on tone bling. Next I cut a frame using the double Pierced Circle Noble dies.  I stepped it by adding a second thinner frame to the edge.  I cut the Greetings of the Season die and used the aperture from the die and seated the circle frame over it.  I added a piece of vellum behind the sentiment to give a softer look.  I used the Double Pierced Noble Rectangles and made a multi layer stepped frame out of coconut white card and seated it around the entire background.  Three poinsettias were cut from Ruby Red card and seated around the inner circular frame with Pine Twig accents.  The card was completed with a white, red white mat and layer arrangement.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  8" in size.  Scroll down for card number two.

I started this card by embossing a piece of coconut white card with the Star Swirls embossing folder and matting it with a thin black mat.  I cut a smaller piece of coconut white card and used the edge of a piece of copy paper to section it  Using Chic Grey Blue Colour Cloud ink and a smoothie, I added rays of light coming from the centre of the card.  I moved the copy paper along to create all the rays.  I matted it with a thin black mat and added it to the centre of the card.  I cut two of the Illuminated Angel Striplet, one white and one black.  I used the black striplet as a shadow by slightly offsetting it behind the white striplet.  I added a white backing that was cut with a piece of sticky adhesive sheet added to it.  I added it to the striplet then glittered it with Diamond Sprinkles,  then adhered it in the centre of the card.  A simple white on white double mat was added to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 3/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Gorgeous cards. Both lovely but no 1 is my favourite.
Sorry to worry you Diane and Trish, I was pruning overhanging tree branches and a large thorn pierced my hand causing swelling do couldn't type very well. It's almost back to normal now. Trish, good news on getting your refund on the card.
Julie, you poor love, you must be so confused. Can the hospital arrange for you to talk to someone who has had the donor eye already done. I know it sounds scary but it would mean you had sight in both eyes, and you wpuld be able to see properly,, enjoy your crafting and the world around you. I hope you get the response you need.
Tina, good that the hospital were so pleased with Micks progress, he has lost so much weight, but your care is getting him there.
Elaine, Andrews positive attitude is amazing, I hope he rests and enjoys his fishing whilst he waits for the scan and results.
Tracey, our wonder girl, it has been a long hard year fir you, you will get there and see happier times again.
Cheryl, I'm glad our comments helped you, we have missed you.
Hugs to all, and missing friends.

Good morning Sue and everyone. I can't believe it's Friday again, where are the weeks going? Love both cards and when I saw the first I thought that it would be my favourite - poinsettias, bling and the pierced circle frames, then I scrolled down and the angel striplet just sang to me. Hugs to all. Sue xxx

2. Has that certainly something that I can't put my finger on, peaceful may be one word to explain how it looks.

Either way Sue, 2 lovely cards each holds its own beauty and message.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, now Sue you are not playing fair.................how can you ask us to choose which of these two we like best, you have put my poor head in a right spin now................they are both gorgeous in their own right, I like the first one because I love the noble pierced dies and the poinsettias, this is a really lovely one, but the second one is a more traditional one with the meaning of Christmas with the stain glass angel striplet (I am so glad I bought this one), so what I will do is give them 10/10 points each............got out of that one didn't I!!!

Pam what are you doing pruning trees.........pleased that the injury is getting better now.

Myra, last day at the holiday club for you today, enjoy, yes I know you are knackered but it is a wonderful experience that the kids will treasure.

Tracy, don't you just love computers, If you have a sick note for whilst you are on holiday (for have holiday booked) then the holiday time is credited back to you, you can't be both.

Elaine - Andrew, the waiting for the next appointment is so frustrating but it will come round soon enough, hope you enjoyed yourself in the caravan and chilling and fishing.

Tina and Mike, good progress, so the drs. are pleased, extra supplements and slow release morphine tablets should make things more comfortable for you, hope you enjoyed the fish and chips.

Maria & Lorraine, I hope you are feeling a little better and managed to catch up in the café.

Crew Trish good news about the credit card result following the holiday firm collapse.

Julie Laz, this is a difficult one regarding the donor eye, if it was me I would consider having the donor eye, but the choice has got to be yours, you need to speak to someone for further advice if you are still unsure.

Wheelybad, hope you are OK

Well I am off to the opticians this morning for my annual eye test, fingers crossed that all is OK.

Oh and the postie called yesterday with my winning prize from CC, and wow what wonderful things they are, I will enjoy playing with these.......well I might just sit and look at them for a while first.

Happy Friday everyone

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

on Monday I went to see a different eye doctor, and they said I could have a donor eye, but the recovery would be 4 to 6 months, I don't know what to do, so I was wondering if anybody knew anyone who has had one or no's anything about it,
I can't listen to doctors anymore, because of my other illness I listened to the doctor and after 7 surgeries on my back, I'm now in a wheelchair, sorry to go on and on, just wondering if anyone no's many thanks Julie laz xxx

Julie Laz - really feel for you, what a dilemma. Don't suppose many (or any?) of us will know first-hand of donor eyes. Think Pam is so right - ask hospital to let you speak to someone who has had this done, and go from there. But every experience is different..... Just hope you can come to a decision as you are so young to live with these problems. Sending big hugs to you and Lee.

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

How fabulous, twofer Friday greets me on my blog return....I get so excited at this time of year, it's by far my favourite day of the week. We all need to do numerous Christmas cards so your weekly inspiration will be invaluable....it also helps me to prioritise which dies to invest in first....of course I plan to buy ALL of the release but I think that my Mum/ jailor/keeper of the purse will have something to say about that!
Back to the cards, no. 1 is my favourite simply because I love the combination of an all white card with an essential pop of colour from the blood red poinsettias....how I love the poinsettias, and they have the perfect platform with the combination of dies on this card, I think I will be using my noble circles a lot this season.
Card no. 2 is also a stunner, the angel striplet is lovely with that touch of bling peeking through. That background is gorgeous, I don't think that I would have the skill or the confidence in my abilities to try that technique, I will simply bow to your superiority:-) Lovely and traditional in feel, perfect for those who like a more religious inspired aspect to their card.
I feel slightly out of touch with the blog and recent events/news having been forced to avoid my tablet for four days this week....I had a humongous migraine that simply refused to budge despite my self medication and lack of internet use:-( I was forced to let it run it's natural course. So, I hope I haven't missed anything major in my absence and that everyone is doing well. Like me, I wonder how many of you are totally and utterly consumed by everything Olympic related....I find myself deeply engrossed all afternoon and evening with varied sports ranging from shooting to rugby to canoeing and weightlifting!!??! It has left little or no time for anything else in my life so it's a good job that it only comes around once every four years:-)
Julie, what a time of it you are having and I like many other ladies have no experience of your problems whatsoever which makes it difficult to offer any useful advice. If I were in your shoes I think that I would opt for a transplant in the knowledge that our sight is the most valuable of senses and if I had even a glimmer of hope that it would be restored I would gladly take it. I am sure that this is of no help to you whatsoever but maybe the consultant could put you in touch with people who have undergone this particular procedure.
Tina, what great news for Mick, losing so much weight in a short space of time is worrying but you seem to be heading in the right direction with good old fashioned home cooking and love.
Pam, how awful for you, maybe next time that you decide to play with your bush you will use gloves:-)
Maria, yes, the countdown has begun! Yvonne is sorting out the tickets for us, what day will you be attending, maybe we could meet up?
I'll leave you all now, I've got one eye on the cycling and I think we might have a chance of gold:-)
Sending my love to all my blog buddies, including Yvonne, Beth, Rebecca, Jan, P, pat, Elaine, Lorraine, Linda, Frances, Alison, Tracy , Wheely Bad and anyone who needs a hugxxx

Hello Sue
I just love your twofer Fridays I think the first is my favourite. Pam I am so glad everything is alright though watch that finger thorns are nasty things. Elaine fingers crossed for Andrew on Monday.

With two such lovely but contrasting cards, it would be difficult to decide which is the favourite. However, I think my preference is for the first as I tend not to go for religious cards. Having said that, I can think of a number of friends who would appreciate receiving he second one.

Two very beautiful yet so different cards today. Would choose the white with the red poinsettias as my favourite but your background rays behind the Angel are fabulous. Not sure I could ink them so perfectly - thought it was an embossing folder. X

Laine - first time in months I've been able to pop in and read a bit of the blog. I can't tell you how it warms my heart that you've not forgotten me! Or maybe I'm being egotistical and you are referring to another Rebecca lol! Either way, I think of you and other Wonderful Wilsonettes often with such fondness. I miss everyone so much and hope that one day I'll be able join in regularly again. I guess one positive thing about my absence is to think of how many delightful cards & videos I'll get to catch up on! Big hugs :) Rebecca in Colorado
