Just For You

Good Sunday morning all!  I have a really sweet girly card for you today.  Sorry the pictures are a bit shadowed, but hopefully it is showing up on your screens as a wisteria and white colour combo.  I started by cutting an aperture in a piece of wisteria card with the Bruges outer die.  I embossed the card afterwards using the Jacobean Floral embossing folder while the die was still in place,  It is a bit more work, but you get a pretty void around the aperture edge where the die remains.  I added a piece of white card to the bottom into which  I scored vertical lines.  I added a strip of white pearls across the connection and tied a double bow out of some pretty matching silk ribbon from my stash (found on Ebay) with a pearl button centre. I added mounting foam to the back of the piece to raise it for dimension.  Using the Silhouette Blooms Stamp to Die For, I inked it with Clear Perfect Medium and stamped it onto wisteria card.  I heat embossed it with white embossing powder and cut it out with the Bruges die.  I cut the inside of the stamp out to create a frame and then seated the decorative centre from the Bruges die matted with a wisteria card to show through it.  I recessed the piece down into the aperture opening.  I stamped my sentiment and cut t out with a small oval and inked it lightly with Chic Viola Colour Cloud and added it vertically to the centre of the card.  I accented it with a few small poppies then completed the card with white and wisteria mats.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x  8" in size.

The winners of this week's comment game are:

Brenda Lello!!!
Nana on the Hill!!!
DeCor!!!

Congratulations all!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize.   All for now, Sue x

Stunning card, it's lovely.
Congratulations to comment game winners.
Julie, well done, I'm sure you have made the right decision, you are bound to be scared, Hun, everyone would feel the same about their eyes but if you gave your full sight back then your life has improved dramatically. We will all be with you on this journey and you have your wonderful husband too.
Wheelybad, it is terrible that you cannot be referred to a hospital that can help you, you have so much to deal with as well. I would fight the decision too.
Tina, hope you and Mick are well.
Elaine big hugs for Andrew, let's hope he gets right decision tomorrow.
Tracey, hope you are feeling a little stronger each day, it takes time so don't rush it.
Hugs to all blog friends

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, oh so pretty, love the wisteria colour and the stamping with white embossing powder really seals this for me, you always manage to get all the colours to match, your stash must be humungous Sue. Thank you so much for the email.

Thank you ladies for all the advice about the dustpan and brush, ordered one from Julia Watts plus a few other things that I keep meaning to get like a packet of palette tools.

Congrats to all the winners, you certainly will enjoy your prize.

Pam, reading through the comments from yesterday there are some good pieces of advice, i.e. board of governors and the council, hopefully you can get this sorted because these trees and bushes will grow again and again and it should not be your problem to cut them down.

Julie I was pleased and proud of you that you are going to go for the donor eye, think of that donor who would be so pleased and proud to know that they have helped someone else (I have a donor card does anyone else)

Wheelybad, I really feel for you, you have so many problems to deal with, you could do without another one, you fight it all the way, we are all behind you.

Big hugs and special cuddles to Elaine and Andrew, Tina and Mick, Tracey and anyone else who needs them, I give them away to everyone.

I went to my son's bbq yesterday and had a great time, it was so lovely to see my twin sister there with her grandchildren, we sat together (as we always do) and chatted all afternoon, I was knackered (or my tongue was) by the time I got home. Oh and a great piece of news, I am going to Ally Pally, yes my son's partner Kerry, such a lovely girl, said she would take me and the mobility scooter in her car, then I think my hubby was feeling guilty (that is another story), anyway it was decided that if my son and hubby can find a golf course near Ally Pally which takes non members on a Saturday then they will drop us off and go off to play golf and then pick us up on the way back, what a result, that mean I can browse for as long as I want well at least 4-5 hours, so I will see you all there, who else is going. We should all meet up and have a group photo with our Sue, how about that. You can add it to your blog then Sue.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Sunday smiles Sue. And the prettiest most lovely girly card that makes you sing. Wisteria is such a subtle gentle shade that shows the embossed stamp beautifully, as do the photos you have uploaded, it looks amazing just on my phone so I bet it shows up really amazing on a much larger screen.

Beautiful girlie card for us today, I love how you've scored the vertical lines at the base. I wish I could tie my bows like you, you've reminded me that I have those pearl button centres I haven't used them for ages I must get them out. What a pretty stamp at first glance I thought you had inked an embossing folder!

Wheely - really feel for you and you just shouldn't have to fight to get diagnosis/treatment. Hope things get better for you - cuddles for Billy too.
June - in Wales we are all opted in as donors - so if you don't register objection it is presumed 'deemed consent'. Glad your husband has come to his senses, so to speak, and hopefully Lorraine F's too, just need a big nudge in the right direction lol.
Realise I'm so lucky in so many ways and am truly thankful.

Good morning all. Lovely card Sue, the wisteria card shows beautifully against the white embossed panel. Love your perfect bow too.

Yesterday I was playing with some Christmas card designs for my Grandaughter to make. I don't trust her with a heat tool yet (she's 10) and they need to be quick and easy ones. I think die cuts will be the best option. I know she loves the snowflake set of dies from last year and I have the whole set so she could mix and match to make a ton of cards that are similar but by using different combinations and different colour card and glitter each one will be different. Sounds like a plan.

Congratulations to the winners. Enjoy your prize.

I have put it in my report book , i have also put in my report that i am disappointed in the housing and feel let down , it is supposed to be Healthy Living For the Retired i have seen the Housing Manager here at the flats twice , he never asked or Phoned to asked if things are any better or if we are now getting any sleep .I am sure if i had his job i would be asking the question.

Wheely, I feel for you so much. Our NHS is wonderful but it's not always used in the best way and I hope you can fight this battle and get the treatment you need. My fibromyalgia and the other health issues I have can be so frustrating and people try as they might don't understand the pain but I feel I am in a better position than yourself and so I hope you get the help that you need.
So happy for you June, now you will be able to enjoy Ally Pally and have a meet up with blog friends and our wonderful Sue. I look forward to the photos of all the stash too.
Elaine, I have lots of things crossed for Andrew's results tomorrow. Sorry there seems to be some silliness going on in the flat overhead, I hope it's soon resolved.
How is Mick doing?
Hoping Laine and Yvonne are doing ok.
I am still feeling rough and don't have much voice because my chest is so tight and painful, very frustrating. I know I must rest this time as I tried to do too much which caused the set back.
Hubby went out at 5 and came home at 1 so he had a good time. He does not know how upset I was but I will try and talk to him about it when I can talk and be calm. My world has shrunk enough without him shutting doors on me.
I know we all have to slow down as we get older but I find it hard to come to terms with and I am "only" 57, scary how close that is to 60 but most 60 year olds are doing very well.
Will stop my waffling and get back to the Olympics.
Love n hugs to you all xxx

June, try Bushey Golf course. Don't think it's members only, just outside Watford. A short trip from AP of about half an hour going north up either the M1 or the A41. I will ask my best friend as she works in Barnet and lives in Bushey (hence I know it exists!) if your son and hubby struggle to find a course. I Know she takes the older kids from the school she works at to a golf course as part of their PE. Excited for you June, you'll have a great time x

Lorraine you're doing the right thing waiting til you're calm. I know exactly how you feel left at home ill as I've had the same. I told Mr I don't want to stop him going out but to think first sometimes! Even if he just texts to check in I appreciate that so much more than nothing. Chronic illness is a learning curve for our menfolk too... And we all know that men show concern in a different way to us girls sometimes. I eventually learnt that getting mad just makes the situation worse. Good luck with it and hugs cos it's confronting all round and not easy xxx

Had a donor card since my 16th birthday, have preached them ever since and wish we had same rules as Wales. So proud that both my brothers did the same as me when they hit 16. Our parents always let us decide for ourselves and we are all registered.

Julie Laz, big hugs and I wish you all the best xxx
