Thanks

Hi bloggers!  Gold and white are the colours for today's creation and my favourite Bed of Roses folder is back (no surprise there, huh?!)  I started by embossing the background coconut white card with the folder for texture.  Next I cut the Pavo die in white using all three pieces.  I backed it in white and also cut another backing piece in gold to use as a shadow.  I mounted the Gemini die and shadow with foam and added it to the lower portion of the card.  I stamped the Shaded Peony stamps an embossed them in white on to gold card and cut them out.  I created one larger flower and two smaller ones.  I "sugared" the larger flower with Iced snow.  I seated all three flowers along the top middle of the Pavo die.  For the focal element, I stamped my sentiment and embossed it in gold, then arranged the Montreal die so it was centred over it and cut it using all the decorative pieces.  I backed it in gold, then added the cutting dies to create several layers. I added mounting foam to raise the outer layer.  I sprayed the inner white layer with spray glue, then added Diamond Snow, then added the gold backing and recessed the sentiment down into the centre.   The Elegant Lace Edger corner was cut in white and added to each side as an accent piece.  I completed the card with a pierced white layer, a thin gold mat and a slightly larger white mat.  The finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x  8 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue. This is a beautiful card and the bed of roses is one of my all time favourite e/b folders. It just looks so lovely on its own and i love to use guilding wax or mica powders over the top just to give it that pop of colour.
Take care everyone in this awful weather.

Morning Sue
Thanks - an appropriate sentiment me thinks - right back at you.
Gorgeous. I do Love the peony's. I am lucky enough to have them and when I am able to craft I use them so much. This card could be used for so many different occasions if the sentiment is changed - it's beautiful. I am thinking that if the flowers were changed for snowflakes...................x
Well done to the winners of this weeks comment game x
The feeling of being human has temporarily returned but not sure how long it will last. Just going to go with the flow and enjoy it whilst it lasts. I have a few cards to make so going to completely ignore the thick pile of dust that is building up and try and get them made. One of them is my 'little baby George's' 18th Birthday card - eek!! I cannot believe he is going to be 18 on 16th December. I just don't look old enough - who am I trying to kid x
TXCOWGIRL - lots of love to you and hoping that the news re Greg is positive x
LAINE - how is your platinum - it does look like a wonderful piece of kit when I have seen it. Got to say it will have to wait as I am the proud owner of my original and first machine - my big shot, an e bosser and 2 Grand C's (yes 2 - long story). Listen - you treat yourself - surely it can be considered medicinal?! A Wisonette having to go cold turkey over the festive season is not something that should be witnessed by anyone.
I think BCAS should just be put on the back burner for now - after all there could be a temptation for someone to form a rival group and if we disbanded it would pave the way for domination on a huge scale. Let's put it on hold - after all it does give a feeling of belonging don't you think? Your suggestion of my bribing our great leader in the form of lovingly handmade delicious fudge is preposterous. I am far to honest and above board to consider such an underhanded approach. And then if you hadn't upset me enough you decide to call me a dog - cheers x
ANNE CRAWFORD - so sorry to hear your sad news. Your card sounds perfect ad I am sure that your friend will be touched and appreciate it. Sending you a hug x
JAN - sounds like you had a fabulous time and your inner child was well and truly let loose. Immaturity cleverly disguised as quality time with the grandchildren is a must. Lots of love x
LORRAINE F - My baby sister (who is now 37) fell pregnant at 17 - huge shock for all of us and was still living at home. Got to say her baby is now 19 and has 2 siblings and my sister would not change a thing. My mum made sure that my sister was clear that the baby was her responsibility and although she found it hard let my sister 'get on with things'. I have to say my sis had been a little out of control until then but it was the making of her. I will be thinking of you today - I hope you get some retail therapy in. Huggles to you x
SABA - maybe if you had a G & T before you did your happy dance then it would have helped with your score x
THERESA W - not you as well - IT WAS NOT A BRIBE!!!! Lol x
Oh my word I am approaching my character limit so will have to split my comment - sorry Sue x

Princess Pixie! said...

PART 2!!!!
REBECCA - as I said to Laine - I do think that it is justified to balance out the spending by treating oneself this time of year - needs must x
TRACY S - that messy craft room is a bummer isn't it? If I could be a tidy crafter I could get a lot more cards made. Half the time is spent trying to find things under the disarray and clutter. I always start off after a good tidy up with such good intentions to put things away properly but it just doesn't happen. Can I let you into a secret - when I met Sue at Ally Pally (and bribed her with fudge - NOT), I told her how impressed I was with her tidy crafting which is so apparent on her videos. I was so happy when Sue told me that this is in fact a 'studio' set up and in no way resembles the environment which Sue usually crafts in. It was very reassuring I can tell you. Lots of love hun x
FLUFFYCAT - when you say subterfuge, bribery or corruption, are you referring to anyone in particular?!!!!!
PAT L - not you as well???!!! It was not a bribe - lol x
MELODY - glad to hear Francis is feeling a little stronger. I do hope Molly get's her internet back soon - miss her x
Anyway - I'll stop rabbiting now. I think Porridge could be the next step whilst I mentally prepare myself for the day ahead.
Have a good day everyone.

Good evening to the lovely Sue and the Wilsonettes,
This is lovely Sue and the Peony flowers are my favourites at the moment and i have treated myself to the shaded peony stamps as it adds that touch of realism if used with the right colour maybe darker or lighter than the card that the flowers are cut from. You can acheive so many different looks with this die set that it is so well worth the money. Thank you Sue for another stunning example from your very talented hands. I hope that you had a great day on Thursday with your family for Thanksgiving as it is the perfect time to count the blessings that you do have in your life.
Well i have been without a computer for days now as number 1 son decided to download a stupid programme that messed up the computer and it kept shutting itself down when it got started up so hence i have been missing in action. As for my Ipad, well it's under a year old and decided it wasn't going to charge up and went on strike, so it was very near the pick a window stage as it was leaving by fast post through it, dashed thing got me that annoyed with it. Hubby was no help as he said "well you've had it a year and these things don't last for ever you know" to which i replied i expect it to last longer than 11 months and the fact that i don't download anything on to it i expect it to work when all it does is go on the internet to watch You Tube videos, listen to the radio or read emails. Anyway hair remaining is still in place and Ipad is now deciding to work again so we will see how long it lasts as knowing my luck it will be a year and a day and not be covered by the guarantee so fingers are crossed.
Anyway ladies i will wish you all a good night and sending hugs to all our Wilsonettes or honorary ones for the battles that they are continuing to face,
love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

Another stunning creation today. It really shows off the embossing folder, i just may have to get this one with roses, so pretty. Sometimes I feel intimidated in using an embossing folder with intricate dies, but love how this looks.

Thank you all for the kind thoughts and words about Greg and his chemo, I will certainly pass on these to him. What a comfort to know people all across the globe are pulling for him.
Greg is the father of our 5 grandkids, (2 girls, 3 boys) and he's been an amazing dad, so gentle and patient, he's a quiet, calm soul. Our daughter is super high energy, hyper personality, so they really compliment each other.
The girls are both huge fans of the Chronicles of Narnia movies, memorizing many of the lines. To our surprise they also have a good grasp of the British accent. To me they sounded like the characters, and they talk to each other like this all the time. Their community did a play from the movie, and the girls got the parts of Lucy and Susan, based mostly on the accent and knowing the lines already, I'm not so sure of their acting ability. They sometimes get one of their brothers to be Edmond when playing, but he refuses to talk "funny" like that. It was surprising when we were at the park, they were talking with the accent, and a British couple overheard, approached us and ask where they were from, assuming they were here on holiday. They were very surprised, and a bit disappointed perhaps, to learn they were from Arkansas. I hope someday they can visit there, they love reading about England.

Good evening lovely Sue and the fabulous Wilsonettes,

What a beautiful design for today's little gem, I love the Pavo die but the stars of the show are the shaded peonies, they are stunning and a essential in any crafting arsenal. The bed of roses is such a versatile EF and one that I find myself reaching for more often than not...if I could have used it on my festive cards I would have:-) I'm not sure if the colour combination is to my taste, I would prefer cream and gold or a stronger contrast with cream and black, but that doesn't in no way detract from the fabulous design.
We had a sunny and cold day today, it really boosted my mood- it may not last but I'll enjoy it whilst it lasts that's for sure. Feeling energised for the first time in ages, I decided to crack on with some more festive cards using my now dried texture paste designs. Started with my interpretation ie copy, of Fridays stunner with the vellum poinsettias and noble die. I've decided to do two, might keep one, and it's coming along nicely- Brodie got involved by running off with my double sided tape and knocking over my diamond snow, pretty mild by his standards:-)
Yvonne, I'm getting the hang of my new Platinum, the handle is still a challenge but I much prefer it to my GC, it's quicker and more efficient, you only need to put dies through once and with less turns of the handle. Like you, I have a Big Shot, e Bosser and had a GC which I gave to my friend Gill...my excuse to get the Platinum!...plus I have a cricut machine too...overkill? I think not! Buying dies is indeed medicinal but I fear that if I utilise this reasoning before January I may actually end up in casualty with one of my Mums walking sticks protruding from an obvious oriface:-( Don't worry, I'm hardly deprived, my craftroom is bursting at the seams- I'm greedy though, that's the problem...or so I am told...but when you don't drink( very much), don't smoke and have no social life to speak of, I feel a die addiction is perfectly acceptable, don't you?
Don't take your blog reputation for being cunning, conniving and covert as an insult, it is meant withe the greatest respect for your obvious resourcefulness, I bow to your supreme excellence in the art of persuasion...it's taken me months longer than you to receive the ultimate prize on Sues wonderful blog, your record speaks for itself dear. What's wrong with dogs?xxx
Txcowgirl, thanks for the update on Gregs progress, it so heartening to hear that he is fighting every step of the way, hugs to you allxxxx
Lorraine F, biopsies are unpleasant at the best of times, I once went shopping for nearly five hours after a surgical procedure to remove three cancerous areas on my skin, it wasn't my best move to date!:-) make sure you get plenty of rest, there's loads of time to shop for Christmas, have you tried online, I can do a lot of damage that way:-)xxx
Tracy, how's your treatment going? Are you still feeling nauseous ? Hope your feeling well honey, take carexx
Alison, glad your feeling better, good to have you backxxx
Melody, sending love to you, Francis and little Molly, hope she gets her internet back soonxxx
Have a lovely evening everyonexxxx

Hello Sue
What a stunning gold and white card. I absolutely love it and your sugared flowers are scrummy. You are right about that embossing folder, it's one of my favourites too.

TXCowgirl, sending prayers for you and your daughter and especially for Greg. In Britain 'our' children like to talk in an American accent when they are play acting.
Lorraine E, look up Oniomania. I think both you and I have it. I bought the Platinum and the Big Shot Plus Lol.
Yvonne, what is a it of dust between friends and by the way, no amount of G&T would get me Ten!
Rebecca nice to see you.
Tracy hope things are going well.
Melody thinking of you and Francis, give Molly a hug from me.
Love and hugs for all

Hi Sue, wow another masterpiece!!! I so love all of your work!!!!!!!!!!

Txcowgirl, I'm praying that Greg's chemo is doing it's job!
Anne C, so sorry to hear about your friend's daughter...a Mom's worst nightmare. Your card sounds absolutely perfect.
Linda, I didn't become a grandmother until I was almost 60 but it was well worth the wait! I've thoroughly enjoyed the last 13 years with them. They are the loves of my life!
Lorraine F, I hope that you're not too sore to get a good nights sleep!
Laine, I must try the texture paste. However, I too am going through withdrawal try to save my money for Christmas. No, I haven't heard of The Waltzes, what are they?
Alison, hope you're feeling better!
Yvonne, my wish is to meet you and Laine one day...you both brighten my days!

Sleep well Wilsonettes!!!

Hi Sue,

Love this card and I love the ef so much I bought it but not used it yet, still waiting for motivation and some energy after the last awful 2 weeks.

Txcowgirl - sending best wishes to Greg and your Daughter. What a lovely story about your granddaughters, I bet they speak English better than me lol!! (I hate my scouse accent)
Lorraine F - I hope your resting and feel better x
Lorraine E - Brodie sounds like a right character, not sure whether he's a cat or dog as I missed that part lol!! But I love him anyway x
P.S I do prefer dogs as I have 3. Well it's only 2 and a quarter dogs, the quarter being a miniature Yorkie. He's super tiny but he's convinced he's the biggest.

Hugs to melody, Francis and Molly and Tracy and Yvonne and anyone else I've forgotten with fibro fog.

Linda xx
