Finishing Touches

Hi there my crafty friends!  The last day of our blog launch, but I have saved the Finishing Touches for you today.  First up are the Blushing Rose die set and the Bearded Pansy die set.  For those of you that love your floral elements on cards but want to keep the dimension to a minimum, these dies are for you.  They are beautifully detailed, but don't add any real height to your cards and projects.  Both floral sets come in an assortment of sizes and with matching leaves so you have everything you need to create stunning projects.  The Blushing Rose shown here is such a striking addition to any card and the Pansy set will be great for those gardeners amongst us!  I know that you will be reaching for these sets time and time again, I know that I did!   Just a reminder too, please feel free to "pin" any of the cards or dies that you like or share them with your friends on other social media sites.  I would love for you to help me spread the word about the new release!    Leave a comment and then be sure to check back at 12 noon for the next release.  You won't want to miss it!  Al for now, Sue x

Very lovely Sue and an excellent idea. I love the dimensional cards, but sadly they're not treated well in the postal system. They arrive with the 3d flowers, bows etc completely squashed flat. Even putting them in a box doesn't always help. I now save cards like that for people I can give them to by hand. Some flower dies that can be used "flat" will be so useful - and they're beautiful too!

Hi Sue,

Hello Sue & WW!
I'll start with the last offering for Monday...what a beautiful feminine & frilly card! So many pretty elements...I spy the Corvus & Emma as well. I want them all! No surprise there :o)
Now on to today's first offering...oohh la la! The roses and this card are soooo pretty! So many techniques to try...stained glass, glitter, paper piecing...oh yay! And I'm VERY eager to see the bearded pansies in full bloom, so to speak, guided by your green thumb Sue! They've already been added to my epic Wish Lust. You are so thoughtful Sue to consider all types of paper crafters (2D & 3D) in your design process. Thank you so much :o)
Laine, "non essential fripperies"? really? Now that hurts! I'm sorry you are subject to this abuse. I'm afraid it's a world-wide epidemic tho as I too have been shamed & deemed fund-less with regards to craft purchases. Is it not the season of giving? Aren't we also taught that in order to love others, we must first learn to love ourselves? I'm simply trying to model these teachings by giving myself love in the form of Sue Wilson dies! We are so misunderstood, you and I.
Maria, I do feel sorry for Santa that the Wilsonettes' lust lists contain items that are so heavy- especially when in the quantities we seek! It's too bad our hobby isn't based on feathers instead of metal dies & paper - that's some heavy stuff! Although, considering the sacrilege I wrote in the previous paragraph, I don't think Santa will be stopping by my house this Christmas lol!
ps-I feel your pain regarding 12 hour shifts -that's my life Tuesday thru Friday. Icky.
Yvonne G. I wonder if Fools and Horses is available on Netflix. I've never heard of it, but it sounds like lots of fun! Of course it is clear your joy in the evening stemmed from a place much deeper than any show :o)
Theresa, my Mum laughs because, to this day, I tell her no one makes cinnamon & sugar toast as good as she does. She used to think I was teasing her because she didn't cook much when I was growing up, but I'm not kidding! Even though it couldn't be simpler to make, hers is the best!
Well, just 2 more posts for this launch :( sad to have it end, but what a launch it has been! Aren't we all so lucky?! (Ok, maybe Santa's lower back and reindeer won't feel so lucky on December 26th). But we are lucky & blessed to have such inspiration from Sue! As it's back to my weekly grind after a sleep, I may not get to comment on the next 2 posts (or if so, it'll be short & sweet - "how refreshing" you say). But anyway, I'll bid my adieus now & wish good luck to all in the drawings.
Hugs to all xxx Rebecca in Colorado

Hi sue.
Fab fab fab I love ma flowers. I love ur card the wee rose is just perfect. I'll have to get these as well for my collection although mine never look as good. Has that been a week of new dies already?

Thanks sue for the opportunity to win a set and for sharing ur amazing talent with us all. I dunno what I'd do without my sue fix everyday lol

Well ladies chemotherapy day has arrived!!
Well if they can get the line into my hand anyways. They said they would try but my veins aren't behaving with all the bloods tests etc that they've done on the one arm as they can't use the other. So might need a picc line inserted. That's another week to wait as I have to travel to Ayr hospital for that as they don't do it in cross house. Isn't that silly?? And crosshouse is a way bigger hospital too. Ah well what can u do?

Thanks for all ur well wishes it's really kept me going ladies so thanks from the bottom of my heart

Sue my Mum is going to love these dies as she is always so conscious of postage costs. Maybe I can wait for her to buy them and then borrow them. Her budget for craft goodies is much bigger than mine but sadly only because she is on her own now so doesn't have to cater to anyone else's needs.
I do cards that usually require a box as most of mine I can give personally but it would be fab to play with these. If I was lucky enough to win these then I would share with my fabulous Mum.
Hope today's chemo goes ahead Tracey, you must just want to get it done now.
Laine, hope the anti b's are working so you feel better.
Yvonne take it steady, your boy's sound wonderful.
Sorry memory fails me again. Love n hugs where needed

Gorgeous card Sue!
I really like these dies as they are just that bit different. You really cant decide which dies you need until you see what Sue does with them as it always surprises me when I say I don't need them and then really want them after looking at Sues masterpieces.

Hello Sue,
I've been waiting for the Finishing Touches too!! What an excellent idea - less dimensional flowers which are easier for cards which need to be posted. Another great idea!
I love dimensional flowers but these would be very very useful too.
All the best today Tracey - hope you manage to get your treatment at Crosshouse!
Love to all,

Hi Sue and everyone

Lovely card to start today's blog with. I really love making the dimensional flowers, but I can see how these would be good for keeping postage costs down.

I have to say this card is a stunner! It's so elegant and the flowers are perfect! No worrying about needing a thick envelope or that the mail will damage the card. No extra postage either. I cannot wait to see how you use these dies to add the 'Finishing Touches' to your cards.

Good morning lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Wonders will never cease, I'm managing to post am rather than late pm- this is the positive effect that your wonderful launch is having on my life Sue, I am motivated to comment before I have my bath etc and feel semi human again rather than getting the mundane out of the way first! And boy am I glad I popped by earlier today because the finishing touches are normally the highlight of any launch. You never disappoint, whilst in prefer a more dimensional flower I can't fail to see the usefulness of a two dimensional alternative for those of use that love floral accents but have to bear the British postal service in mind. This card showcases your new die perfectly, the flowers really pop and I can't wait to see your interpretation of the pansy because I don't recollect any other leading brands doing this particular flower.
Thankyou for your kind well wishes, my infection is getting worse before it gets better and is very tender but I'm on day two of my antibiotics and should see an improvement soon.
Tracy, you're in my thoughts today, do you have to travel to the Beatson in Glasgow for your treatment or can they do it locally? It will be a relief to finally get started I'm sure, even if it is tinged with trepidation, feel free to whinge when times get tough honey, we're here for youxxx
Yvonne, what a couple of gems your boys are, if only I was twenty years younger.....being able to cook and clean is a rarity in a man in my experience so you have raised them beautifully. Whilst I do appreciate a bit of Fools and Horses my own preference would be something more sarcastic in tone...what a surprise I hear you say.....such as Blackadder or Alan Partridge, they are wet your pants territory for me....good job I have a strong bladder unlike you my friend:-) Santa in Harley Street you say? Well, he's going to extreme lengths to escape our clutches, I mean, changing his entire appearance to foil us is a slight overreaction if you ask me.....perhaps our reputations precede us and Sue has warned him of our extremist practises in getting what we want. Perhaps he is just looking to lighten his load on Christmas Eve at our expense, by our own admittance we have been rather naughty again this year:-)
Rebecca, I hope Santa has a good chiropractor with the extensive lusts of the Wilsonettes blowing way out of proportion now, no wonder he has went into hiding, the elves have probably went on strike as a result of our demands! He could consider gift vouchers to a reputable craft site as an lighter alternative, I'm sure Rudolph and the elves would appreciate our concessionsxxx
Linda, make sure you really milk hubby's guilt, his folly couldn't have come at a better time for you:-)
Roll on midday, though I am a little sad that our Suefest will be drawing to a close soon, I could so get used to multiple posts each day.
Love and hugs to all my blog buddies, hope you feel better soon Melody and you get Francis back home where he belongsxxxx

Love and crafty hugs,

Laine1972xxxx

I avoid flowers because of the extra height they add, these would solve that beautifully.

Hi Sue, I have been waiting for these to appear as I fell in love with the rose straight away and it is one of the dies I am expecting to arrive soon (I hope). A beautiful card that has given me an idea for one I have to make so I really hope the dies come today. I adore pansies but as I couldn't get everything I wanted they have had to go on the list - hopefully they won't be there for too long :)

Heather - Congratulations to you and Mr T on your anniversary, hope you have a lovely day.

Tracy - I really hope they can get a line in and you don't have to wait another week.

Melody - fingers crossed Francis is home today. A horrible time to get a cold, maybe one or the other of you should wear a mask?

Frances

Hi Sue,

Ahhhh, I get it now! I must confess, I did wonder as the look of a packaging online does not always give a clear idea and... I like them very much more than I thought I would. Definitely a great advantage for the postage as I tend to think "errr... flat? What do I put on it now?" I can't wait to see the pansies in action, I can think of lots of ideas for these, backgrounds, frames, embellishments, focals... plenty of uses! Well done Sue (yet) another winner!

Will comment to all in midday post,

Hugs, T x

These dies are very clever as they make very pretty flowers without adding too much dimension and pushing up the postal costs. Good idea. I think my favourites are the pansies.
