Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi bloggers!  Back to a card giveaway day after missing it due to last week's die launch and giveaway.  While this card is pretty straightforward, nothing tricky, it is quite striking so I thought it was worthy of a giveaway day.  I stamped the Justrite Iron Swirls background stamp on to a piece of black card using a Clear Perfect Medium pad.  I heat embossed the image with True White detail embossing powder.  The image was then cut to size and matted with a thin white mat to frame it and make it pop.  I used the mauve seam binding and wrapped it both directions like a present, adding a messy bow to the junction.  I wanted to give it a bit of a feature so I cut the bow loops down the centre, creating a shabby chic sort of look with frayed edges.  I made two matching stick pins and added them to the bow, finishing it with a black jute twine bow and a crystal sparkler.  I stamped a sentiment and cut the ends into a flag.  I edged it with Shaded Lilac and then tucked the end under my sparkler.  To add a bit more colour, I added a pierced mat layer with a deep lilac card and followed with a thin white mat to set it off.  I finished the card with a black mat with Cosmic Shimmer black PVA glue dots around it and a final mat of lilac.  The finished dimensions are
6 1/2" x 7 3/4" in size.  If you would like to be entered in the drawing to win this card, just leave a comment on the post (directions are on the side of my blog if you have never done so).  I will draw a name and announce the winner on Saturday's blog post.

I still haven't had all the Christmas die winners claim their prizes.  Please check the list that was posted on Monday to see if your name is on it and email me!   All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue, late today as poochies a bit under the weather , I think its because its too wet to go out to the forest. I know its daft but I'm missing their mischief making.

Todays creation is just yummy. Love the combo of colours. The background is so striking I must try to do more white embossing on dark card as it really makes the design pop. Lol lynne m x x x

With quite a few childhood memories I thought I would share one of my lesser moments!!!!!!

It was my twin and I birthday ( think maybe 10 +) and as a special treat our parents to us to a really posh restaurant for a meal with our older brother. We could order what we wanted ( within reason) I can't remember what my main dish was but I know the waiter asked if I wanted french fries, sauteed potatoes or roast potatoes. The way my father retold the event through the years was that I looked at my dad with tears in my eyes and said " Is it because they're posh they don't do CHIPS". The waiter very quickly replied that as it was our birthday he would get the chef to make some chips especially for me. Dad thanked him, my brother being the utter pain he was told me loudly that french fries were chips. I turned to him and said no they weren't cuz why call them french fries when they were chips. Dad told mum that you could take the girl out of Millbrook but not Millbrook out of the girl. The standing joke from then on was if we went out my family would look at a menu and tell me no chips!!!

It is so exciting to have found your blog, Sue. Never have I seen such gorgeous designs, these are stunning.
Since I am new here, I was wondering if you have distributors in the USA for your beautiful dies? I thought I had found a place, but they were out. Is there a list someone could point me to?
Thank you again, and I am so looking forward to learning more about your creations.

Such a stunning card! We were traveling all day, and I was afraid I would miss your post. Love these larger cards, must try these, and how you use "out of the norm" embellishments, like the hat pins.
