Thank You For All You Do

Hi bloggers!  I have used my High-Low technique on this card but with a small twist.  I have used dies instead of a mask.  It isn't difficult to do but it does take a bit of time, but the results are stunning.  From the background up, I embossed a piece of coconut white card using the Quilted Flower embossing folder.  I cut it towards the bottom to create an open area.  I mounted the two background pieces with foam and attached them to a soft gold card piece, leaving room in my channel.  I cut a Heart Striplet in white and glued the edges on either side of my channel.  For the focal element, I covered two pieces of soft gold card with sticky adhesive sheets.  I cut my French Collection Provence die and my Austrian Collection Salzburg die with one pass through the Grand Calibur.  With the addition of the sticky sheets, this is usually just enough to only cut through the backing paper on the sticky sheet.  This is what you want for this technique, but if the die does happen to cut all the way through in spots, just use some tape on the back of the die cut piece before removing it from the die.  Using a pokey tool, just remove the backing paper from the area that would be the fall away pieces of your die, leaving the actual die shape covered.  Once all of the fall away areas have had their backing paper removed, cover with Summer Meadow gilding flakes.  Use a rubit scrubit pad to refine the flakes and remove the excess. This is the "low" part of the technique.   Brush away any excess with a tissue then remove the remaining piece of backing paper, cover with micro beads.  This will give you the "high" part of the technique.  I did this on both die cuts and layered them up with a white oval in between for definition.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the inside oval from the Innsbruck die set.and mounted it in the middle with foam.  I made a flower using the Classic Rose die set, then sponged clear Perfect Medium to the edges and dusted it with gold mica powder.  I seated it on some white tulle and used some Faux Quilled leaves around it for embellishments.    I completed the card with a double white mat and used the Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue to form dots all the way around the edge.  Finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x
