You're Amazing

Good Sunday morning all!  Another older card that hasn't had it's day on the blog yet!  I started by stamping the Vintage Alphabet Soup stamp from Justrite in black on coconut white card.  I covered it with a self adhesive sticky sheet, peeled the backing paper off and sprinkled polished silk Glitter over it in a random fashion.  I used the Vintage Violet, Ice Blue and Lavender Polished Silk Glitter for this background.  Once the glitter is on the sticky sheet, you need to use your finger to burnish it down well and dust away the excess.  Next step is to cover it with another piece of sticky adhesive sheet, peel off the backing sheet  and then coat it with clear micro beads. This gives a sort of holographic look to it.  A bit of work, but the finished result is really rather nice up close.  I cut it into a wide strip and matted it with a thin white and black border.  I cut a piece of coconut white card to use as a background and embossed it with the Wild Holly embossing folder from Couture Creations.  Using Becca Feeken's Vintage Label and Tag die, I cut two tags, nipped them in half and used three of the pieces to mount off the edge of my glittered strip.  I added a sentiment to the bottom of the card from the Bold Sentiments by Creative Expressions and cut thin black and white border to separate the two parts of the card.  Using some of the dark aqua felt from the Blossom felt package, I cut a flower from Spiral Blossom Four and rolled it. I added it atop a black seam binding messy bow with a jute twine bow.  I added a single black pearl in the centre of the flower.  Finally the card was completed with a double white pierced mat.  Finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x 8 1/2" in size.

I have just read that Nick can't win the competition, if that is the case, what a shame, as his reason for wanting to win was a really good one.

GM Sue - love the glitter on this card although I am not usually a glitter fan. Yes I will finally be going to Ally Pally this year - with hubby who has agreed to come too! I have purchased a W brooch to wear to signal the Wilsonette fan base - hope it comes in time to wear.

Show Report from yday -
MDay card class - I came.....3rd
A Painting - I came.... 1st
Handmade jewellery - I came 3rd
Scrapbook page - I came....1st and now for the big one ....

(£10 1st prize, £5 2nd prize and £2.50 3rd prize) a sponsored class of different Motehr's Day items - there were 7 collections in this class the most entries we've ever had in the sponsored class - I came ................. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
1ST!!!!!!! I entered a Mday card in the shape of a handbag (embossed using Sue's heart lattice folder with the handle made from Sue's new Decorative Frames), a plaque, a decorated wooden trinket box and a faux leather notebook cover (using Sheena's glycerin technique) - so I was well chuffed beating some stichers and knitters etc...

I also co-won the silver cup for most points in the handicraft section - so a good day. Many thanks for all the messages rooting for me etc. perhaps they had an effect somehow me thinks?!!! Still want to win that card class though - maybe next time!! Happy crafty Sunday all

WOW lovely card here today it's gorgeous and a technique to try.

Gutted about Nick not being eligible to enter the competition, seems such a shame as he didn't even want to win it for himself. Personally I think it's unfair of C&C as they should have told him from the first vote and removed his card from the site immediately! Maybe C&C should just donate £500 to him as compensation! Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
Ok we all know that Norah's brain when it is at home doesn't work like everyone else's but who else see's the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) in Sue's card to day? Nope, just me, knew my brain definitely functions on a very different waylength to normal people. I like the fine black with the white making up the rest of the card Sue, as it breaks up the density of the alphabet work.
Clare i am over the moon that real thought provoking crafting won so many different categories. You must be over the moon and still trying to come down to planet earth from such an amazing feat. They must have had our over whelming crafty thoughts over loading their brains this year to make them see the error of their ways. It must be the year that other crafts are getting a look in on the prizes bench, as more and more of us are taking up crafting or in some cases widening the horizons of the crafts that they have done all these years. It has taken film stars to start knitting for me to go from being old fashioned to bang up to date, but it's that only way that i'm in fashion. I love how all the dresses that i made for myself in the early 80's of the 50's and 60's lovely fashions are now in the shops as the latest thing in fashion. I should have kept them, but what did the song go... oh yes Born to Late, that's me or too early, one of them, but it's nice seeing the young women covered up in lovely clothes instead of a belt and what looks like a bra to me because they forgot the rest of their clothes.
I can't believe i have won again, twice in one week must be a record or it is for me as i was never on the winning side of the door. The card i won on the rebound and could not believe my luck there, but to win on Sues' as a comment winner, i am over joyed. It is just as well is was sitting down, because i had to go back to see the winners list as i skipped to the bottom to the comment part first. Dohhh, it was reading my name on the comments that i went back. I do hope that all the winners enjoy their prize from the comment game, it is such a brilliant feeling, the best in the world. No i haven't put on the lottery as there is a tale to that, just suffice to say i wouldn't be lucky. Hubby still hasn't forgiven me for it and its going back 17 years now.
Janet, i thought you had already had your "spring break", but going to France as well... hope your face is better by then or they might think you have taken on Mike Tyson or hubby and lost. Hope that you feel better soon though as living with the horror film look all the time is not a good look. I am so glad that Pam is coming back in to join us again. her and Cameeli are our starting posts and it just isn't the same and is strange when they don't (See weird that's me).
I am going away to lie in a darkened room to get over the shock and try and calm down the excited me which has decided ti overtake everything else. I have tried to tell it, that it will tire me out with it's nonsense, but it is taking no heed. You need to scrape me off the ceiling for a whole different reason today.
From a decidedly sunny Glenochil and Ochils i wish you all a great day and thank you so very, very much each and everyone of you,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

Cheers

Hi Sue. Hope you are having a good weekend. A different look with this one - kind of CAS but not CAS, if that makes sense..... Still very striking though.

Hi Sue
Such a beautiful card so rich looking and sounds so simple to make too, but we shall see!!!
Many congratulations to all the lucky winners especially Norah you are on a roll. Firstly winning a card, now a prize from Sue what oh what will it be next they do say things come in threes? Delighted for you Norah hope you get lots of enjoyment from your prize, you deserve it.
Clare I loved your show report, you have done fantastic, very well done, delighted for you.
Pam I do hope you are enjoying the sunbeams today, take care xx
Yet another black mark to C & C as far as I am concerned, why oh why let poor Nick enter the competition if he was ruled out of winning, Sue is there any way we can all help him out? Or can you shame them into giving him another prize for the little ones out there in Bulgaria?
We are blessed with sunshine again today up here in the Lake District and beautiful fells too covered in snow.
Warm wishes and hugs to those who need them.

Another great card with this alphabet background stamp Sue, this just has to go onto my must have list now. I really do love black on cards. I agree with everyone, shame about Nick not being eligible for the prize but I don't know if they would realise it was him as it doesn't show his name under the picture, well not that I can see anyway. If they're happy enough to take everyone's money for the machine then surely it would be fair that they should open the competition to everyone who bought one, no matter where they live. They didn't say it was only UK residents who could BUY the machine, did they? Their comp, their rules I suppose but still don't think it's fair.

Annie xXx

Congratulations to all the winners.

Hellooo Sue and the Wilsonettes!! Oooooo stunning card Sue. The violet, blue and lavender glitters are beautiful mixed together and with the added micro beads I imagine a lovely texture too. I love the wild holly embossing folder, it's gorgeous.... and I really love your felt flowers too.... Thank you Sue for showing us all the different ways that you can use these stamps and dies. Wonderful! Nice to see you again Pam, here's a hug xx You too Cameeli and hope you are resting your knee and not doing any acrobatics! Lol! Well, it looks likes some whoo hoos are due! Well eeee ecky thump our Clare, you did fantastically well yesterday! So chuffed for you and credit where credit is due it was all down to you that you're a winner! I know we have a lot due to our Sue's "thinking outside the box" too eh? But brilliant!! Oooo our Norah, congratulations on being drawn on the comment game! You are now on the receiving end of how it feels to win something, hence the whoo hoo's that you'll be saying all day and beyond! Apart from the butterflies when you see your name there in black and white, it's the adrenaline rush that comes with it too! I'm not surprised you've gone for a lie down....! Wonderful! Congratulations to all our winners! Enjoy your prize! Sending love and hugs to all our Wilsonettes that need them today and everyday xx Love Karen xx

Sunday Smiles to you Sue and all Wilsonettes. Claire you clever gal. Im SO SO chuffed for you im grinning like a Lancashire Cat (I know its a Cheshire cat) but Im an adopted eey up not a Manc (so that's why Ive changed it) either that or im dileriously shattered after my stint at the market (thanks to our family that wished me well) and I thank our Sue for her devotion and love of beauty, for without you Sue I wouldn't be a step closer to getting my A4 machine YOU Are Amazing, thank you xx
Is it time for bed yet ? Ok.
What a beauty todays card is. The bold colours really throw out the white embossed side of the card, its amazing.
Cassie met her public today, her first visit to market and did quite well, thank goodness for a Spring day so she could take Mr Lancashire round n round n round the country park ! Maybe she'll sleep past 6am and let us humans sleep a little longer !
My brain feels more like black peas than grey mush, and Im not co-ordinating at all well which isnt unusual for me I must admit, I dont know if its the sun that has fried my brain cell or what, but I wont forget to congratulate all our winning Wilsonettes today, and poor Janet, you must be in so much discomfort you poor lass, ugly ? NEVER. A Wilsonette is a beautiful person INSIDE and OUT, remember that : )
Which is why we are so desperate to help NICK. With ALL the money CC make I think they have behaved dispically, sorry, have a heart CC !

Thats it Im done, finished, caput, so Im sending loving thoughts to Pam, thinking of you sweetheart, as I am to Tina and poor Janet. And to any beautiful Wilsonette that needs love n hugs today.

Love you.
Lancashire Steph xx

Hi Sue,
Yep, I can see the Northern Lights, too in your beautiful card today. It is another stunner and well worth the extra effort that's gone into it.
Also love the felt flower and bow - there just isn't a colour which doesn't go well with black.
Hugs, Rose

Hi Sue? I am sorry I could not blog yesterday but the Broadband, tv and phone we have with our supplier have all gone down since Friday !! We have nothing, even now !! It is day three today and it makes me wonder how we ever coped without technology !! I am only doing this now as hubby figured out how to connect my iPad to his own mobile phone signal !! Your card today is beautiful. I love the glitter technique you have used and then the micro beads over the top. Fab idea !! Your felt flower looks great too !! Your bold sentiment stamps are on my very long wish list but I am not buying anything else as I have to save all my money for Alley Palley !! I can't wait !! From reading other blog comments I see there are several people going. Should I make myself a W badge or a Sue Wilson bow with a dazzler in the centre ? So we can recognise each other !!
Pam, Lovely to see you here. I hope you are ok. Love and hugs to you from me x x x
Janet, I hope you are ok after your accident. X x x
Clare, Congratulations on winning those crafty competitions !! You did fantastically !!
Norah, I think you are on a roll !! Congratulations on winning Wednesday's card and now the comment game !! You must be so pleased !!
I am so sorry Nick could not win the c+c competition? I think that was very unfair of them to not notify him right from the beginning that he was not eligible to enter it.
Just yet another reason why I am unhappy with the conduct of Create and craft. I don't have much but I could donate a whole box of create and craft punches I have to Nick. I have only used one of them once. ( My wrists are to weak to use them.) If someone could let me know what to do to get them to him I would be only to happy. ( they are all brand new.) Please let me know if I can help. x x x

Lots of love to you Sue and all the Wilsonettes love tres x x x

Hi Everyone

I don't understand why Nick could not win this competition, could some one let me know why. Again if there is any other way to get some crafting materials to Nick, I am up there with everyone else, just need details.

Lots of work in this card but for some reason it is just not my cup of tea. Think it may be the black bow.

Well done to all the winners, especially Norah. Well done to Clare on all your success.

Shame about Nick not being eligible for the C & C comp. Does anyone know about postage rates to Bulgaria? Wonder whether money/voucher donations might be more affordable than the postage to send craft materials to him.
