For You (Another Two-Fer)

Hello crafters!  Another two-fer today but both are shoe cards!  A girl just can't have too many shoes, now can she! LOL  I needed to make a few samples for our upcoming Ally Pally show so I thought you might enjoy seeing some of them.   These are both really simple cards and don't need too much in the way of explanation so I thought I would post them both (hate it when I feel like I am cheating you if the card is too simple!  After all, you take your time to stop by and visit, I need to make sure it is at least worthy don't I!)  Both cards today feature shoe stamps from the Creative Expressions stamp set called Floral Footsteps.  I stamped the first shoe and embossed it in clear so it has a patent leather look to it.  I coloured the flowers with Distress Markers and added a bit of detail with a white gel pen. I cut out the shoe (yes, by hand) and added mounting foam to the back.  Using the Decorative Frames from the Italian Collection, I cut out the outer heart frame, leaving the centre intact.  I added in the next sized die during the embossing to add a bit more detail.  I inked through it with Spun Sugar distress ink before removing it.  I seated the shoe in the centre and used a few of the fallaway hearts around it.  I added a California Collection border in white along the bottom with some flatback pearls added as embellishments.  I finished with a stamped tag tucked into my turquoise messy bow with some Bakers Twine and a small pearl embellishment.  A double pierced white mat completed the card.  Finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x 7 1/4" in size.  Card no. 2 is below

Card no. two shows off the boot stamp from the stamp set. Sorry that the picture came out a bit yellowish as the card is white and mauve.   I stamped it on to coconut white card and coloured it with Distress markers.  I used the Valencia die from the Spanish Collection to cut it out.  I decided to add some colour to the mat so I cut it out of our mauve card using the die from the Seville set.  I seated the focal element on to a piece of white card that I embossed with the Wild Holly embossing folder from Couture Creations.  I tied some mauve seam binding around the card and added a messy bow at the side.  On top I made one Faux Quilled Bloom flower and added a small Dazzler to the centre.  I finished the card with a double white mat with White Cosmic Shimmer PVA Glue dots around the edge.  A few flatback pearls embellished the corners of the die cut to wrap it up.  Finished dimensions are
 6 1/4" x 7 1/2" in size.

Now, for the winners of the cards on the Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway.

The first card (the white one) goes to:

 Maryann Laursen!!!

The second card (the black one) goes to :

NZILLINGWORTH (Nadine)!!!

Congratulations!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize.  No more cards to be given away this week, but there are still loads of prizes and those winners to be announced tomorrow.  Don't forget to stop by!  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue. Another Twofer....wonderful : ) Love both of them and can't pick one over the other. Using the white gel pen to add those details makes such a difference doesn't it. They may be simpler cards Sue, but we certainly don't feel cheated for at least 2 reasons (will remember the rest as I wake up more and more:) ) 1.You take so much time and trouble to show us the cards in the first place. 2. We all need to make easier cards sometimes. So no more thinking you are cheating us! A hug for Pam and anyone that needs one. Congratulations to the lucky winners. Take care.

It doesn't matter if your cards are very complicated or very simple as the first thing I do every morning is get onto your blog. Has become a ritual, and can't do anything else until I have seen the card or cards for the day.

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
Oh how i would love to be able to walk in those beautiful shoes as they are stunning. The boots remind me of being on the CB when i was a teenager and my mum was Nashville Lady and had a pair of cowboy boots along with the beautiful shirt, neckerchief and buckle belt. Very happy times and memories, thank you Sue for restoring them for me. Although i agree with the shoes sentiment, my husband would disagree with it emphatically. Sorry Sue but i think that we are never cheated by you as you give us precious things ..... time and inspiration. Just because it is simpler today doesn't mean that the same thought and care hasn't been put into your beautiful masterpieces. Remember not all of us are as confident at processes and design as our more outstanding friends, so we never ever feel less than 100% of love from you.
Nadine and Maryann, well done girls at winning your beautiful cards, i know that you will enjoy them and treasure them as much as the rest of the lucky card winners do.
Pam i just thought your were typing in another language and as i don't know any, i never thought you had dyslexic fingers like mine who type a whole load of nonsense at times, that's because i am determined to master this typing lark. Hope you have a peaceful weekend flower, but sending cyber hugs to you anyway.
Rosemarie, you are only as old as you feel and i don't see any reason why an OAP can't where beautiful shoes. If you can walk with grace and style without making friends with the ground, why can't you where them. I can walk in them in my dreams, so i pick the highest pair as i was well behind the door and at the back of the long queue when the height department was open. When i was younger, i loved my high heels and since i was going with someone at 6'8" it was a stepladder i needed not high heels, but if i was going off in a rant at him i would either need to where flaties or take the shoes off as i couldn't concentrate on chattering my wallies of to him and stay upright at the same time. Oh it was fun and because of the big height difference of course you got the smart alec's who would ask the stupid question on where was my stepladder. My answer was they came portable these days, but that was long before you could get the telescopic ladders that you can carry around in your boot of the car, oh happy days. I think the funniest episode of that period was when he made fun of my mums' height, well she decked him with a jujitsu move. I had never thought of telling him that she was a black belt in that and judo, as it had never came up in conversation. Somehow he treated her with a lot more respect after that, but seeing a 4'11" tiny made woman flooring this man mountain was funny hee hee hee.
Have a great time everyone that is going to the AllyPally and have a wonderful weekend everyone. It's a rotten dreich day up here and my beloved hills have disappeared once more. I know i said they change everyday but i need to see them to see the difference.
Hope to see you all tomorrow,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

Hi Sue,
Hi Everyone,
Never ever apologise for your offerings, dear lady! I'm sure most of us learn something each day from your beautiful cards and techniques. Well I do !
Today's cards, are beautiful and while I wouldn't necessarily make lots of cards with a shoe or boot I can think of two granddaughters for a start who'd love those cards! Several friends too would like them. I like everyone else love bags and shoes! Still wearing the heels - you're right Norah - wear them if you can! I have however given up the mini skirts! Two beautiful cards Sue!

I love both cards, but the boot one has that something extra that if I had to choose just one, then it would have to be that one.

I also love the stamps, they will definitely be added to my want, need & must have list.

Happy Crafting!!! :) X X

Hi Sue,
not just one but two stunnero - I shall adopt that word for the future, so much better than stunners. Thank you Pam LOL.
There is an art in making "simple" cards which don't look it, and you, Sue, are the master of that art.
Congrats to the winners and have a brilliant weekend everyone. Looks like SPRING is finally here.

Toe beautiful ones today for us Sue, not sure what happened to me yesterday as I seemed to miss my visit, no wonder the day was so bad, got soaked though twice! Back to today though, I love both examples, not normally a clothes/shoes person but love both the stamps you have used today, I think I need another die collection though even though the Californian collection that I bought when you first released them is so handy, I cut loads of each out in different combinations out of coconut card, and am still using but of them, my daughter come home from uni last night only to tell her dog she was expecting a Mother's Day card on Sunday! So today while she has popped out I got my pieces out and have made a lovely quick card for her, thanks so much Sue. Congratulations to the card giveaway winners, and hugs to all those that really need the today, cheer up all the sun is out xxxx

Hi Sue,
There's nothing simple about these and you certainly don't need to apologise. Although I'm not really into shoe stamps , I think they are both fabulous for people who love shoes. I'm with Steph when it comes to shoes - as you all know, I can't even manage to stand upright in trainers!! Have to say the knee is getting blacker and now not just the knee - it's virtually the whole of my leg from knee to ankle!!Congrats to the two lucky winners. Have a great weekend everyone. Love Alison xxx
Ps Pam, loving the new language!

Hi Sue, two beautifully designed and executed cards but they are not for me, I'm sorry to say. I thought I was in a minority of one, not liking shoes, but thanks to Tina I don't feel so alone. I love sandals and almost flat ones at that. My sister on the other hand would not only love those shoes - she would wear them! :-) so maybe I'll have to make a card like that for her.
Congratulations Maryann & Nadine, enjoy your cards.

Both cards are lovely sue, and sometimes 'simple' is more eyecatching and stunning than one with many elements. Personally i find it quite difficult to do one less ornate so i welcome the chance to see simpler examples.
Actually got my c&c mag today and theres a little bit in there about nick, it is encouraging to see all the support he has thus far received.
Hope a good weekend is being had by all and congrats to the lucky winners.x

Helloooooooo Sue and all the Wilsonettes! Ooooo Sue, how could you even think/feel that you cheat us. Gosh you do and give us so so much. You are the most generous lady we know. No card is ever simple and sometimes we need "quick cards" to do. I, and I imagine most of the Wilsonettes, would love to have half of your ideas and inspiration. Your two-fers are gorgeous! Each one is different but they both "sing!" Stunning with the most beautiful dies....Like you Linda B and nanna Pat I used to love my heels. I was diagnosed with a neurological/spine condition during my cancer treatment (a few doctors thought I needed glasses after four years of symptoms....) I have to wear flatties now but I sometimes look longingly at the old high heels (not the 12 inch ones though!). I'm only 5ft 2ins and I reckon I'd be following you both, Lynne and Norah now...... Eeeeck Alison, you look after that knee/leg.... Sending love and hugs to you Pam, bless you duck, you could have been saying it in a foreign language, we'd have been none the wiser.... Margaret A, Moyra, (you're welcome!), Steph, glad the invites have been done...rest now.... Norah, thank you for the fantastic image of your 4' 11" mum jujitsu-ing that 6' 8" fella! My mum is the same size so it was a pretty good one! Lol! Moyra, fantastic news about C&C! Big thanks to Sue, Debbie Moore, Clarity Stamps Tonic, C&C and Debbie Shore AND to our wonderful Wilsonettes too!! Whoo hoo! My C&C magazine came today too but have been visiting and watching the wonderful Morecambe and Wise show....will do it now....Sending love and hugs to all our Wilsonettes. To those who are spoiling their mums tomorrow.....and to those who will have them in heart and mind...... xx God bless xx Congratulations to Maryanne and Nadine, you lucky ladies! Wonderful! xx Love Karen xx

Hi Sue

Late again, cards are beautiful today, but really love yesterday's card. absolutely stunning.

I have been really busy with wedding stuff. We saw the catering company for last minute adjustments. They said that I might like to make up RESERVED cards for the seating arrangements for the service, so I have been making those, yesterday and today. They also said they have had a parting of company with the venue company, so we have to take every piece of wedding decor up to the catering company offices 3 day's before the wedding. I wake every morning at stupid O'clock, thinking is everything going to be finished,. Only to be told today the bridesmaid dresses have not arrived yet,and they still need to be altered. Wedding on the 18th April. Pulling my hair out, and no one else is worried is it just me. 20 day's to go. HELP!!

Kind regards

Tina XX

Good evening Sue and everyone
I love the design of both cards but just not a fan of the shoe/boot stamps I'm afraid.
Yes, did spot the article in the C&C magazine today about Nick so I feel sorry for C&C s lambasting they've had the last couple of days.
Best wishes.
