Thinking Of You

Hello blog friends!  I was asked to make a couple of cards for our recent trade show using some of the new Baroque Ballgown stamp and the some new dies.  Here is one of the cards that I came up with.  I started by selecting a piece of decorative card from my craft stash (Graphic 45 I think this is) and I covered it with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I peeled off the backing and covered it with Iced Snow glitter jewels for a nice blingey appeal.  I wrapped a piece of chalk seam binding around the card and taped the ends to the back.  Next I used milk coloured card and cut out the new Mystical Embrace die from Spellbinders as a backdrop for my ball gown.  I used the smaller die from the new Romantic Rectangles Two die set and cut it also out of milk card.  I stamped my gown in the centre of it and shaded around the edge with a blue pencil.  I stamped the gown two more times, once on milk card and once on a decorative card.  I cut the gown portion only out of the decorative card, then glued it on top of the stamped imaged on the milk card, then cut the entire image out.  I used some mounting foam and attached it to the image stamped in the die cut as my focal point.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with the tag from the Mystical Embrace set.  I inked through the die with Tattered Rose distress ink before removing it.  I mounted it with foam to the side of my focal image.  I tied a messy bow out of chalk seam binding and added it to the left.  Using my Classic Rose die, I made several different sized flowers, sugared them with Iced Snow and added them to my bow and top of my focal point as accents.  I made two pretty pearl stick pins and finished my bow with them.  A final double pierced mat layer out of milk coloured card and some flatback cream pearls to the corners and focal element was all that was left to complete the card.  Finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 8" in size.

Good morning Sue, and all the crafty crew!! thinking of you Too!!
Simply breathtaking, I love this too, I am running out of words.

My Californian collection has arrived and I hope to have some time to play later today.
Its not as cold as forecast down here, have been for a walk round Ham Common already as we had a problem with the gym, and cancelled our membership, another tedious and upsetting story. I have found a small hotel near where |i live that has a smaller pool so may look at joining with them. If not I will have to use Shanks pony!! I was losing weight and for the first time enjoying swimming!! Well done Sheila Ginger!!
Have a lovely weekend

What a gorgeous card. The Spellbinders die is really lovely. The whole thing reminds me of old films where the star is an actress and we see her in her sumptuous dressing room - gorgeous gowns hanging up, boas and feathers on the table and the star draped languidly in her chair entertaining an admirer. It just has that opulent, vintage feel.
Meanwhile back in the real world!
Have a good weekend all.

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
We have a beautiful sunny day up here in the Wee County and to open up to a lovely card is just the icing on the Ochils (I know it should be cake but sometimes my brain takes a daft turn). The Mystical Embrace (lord i've forgotten the name already) the die you have used today is so beautiful but i fear it is in the wish folder along with a number of others that are so beautiful but a wee bit out of my budget. I like how you have muted the background paper down, it doesn't overwhelm the rest of your masterpiece this way.
Oh how nice it was for me to see Tina coming in to our wee family gathering again yesterday, as i know that it was hard for her but how pleased were we all to see her. Tina when you can bare to turn out the main light for Berkeley there is wee battery operated candles that look like a Tea Light and then the light will never be out for her. Just tell me to shut up and stop being stupid as that's what my husband does, but it is just a thought for you flower.
Steph what makes us special people is the special people that think of us and talk to us each day. I don't think i have ever, ever had so many lovely people care about or think about me in my life before and this blog takes me through some bad times i can tell you.
Cameeli , shanks pony is free and you see all the beautiful wonders that you miss in a gym. And if you just upgrade him to trot or power walk you don't knacker the knees like i have and you actually burn more off. Got that titbit from my super fit Dr, who decided that my years off running marathons, biking, tennis, badmington and high power aerobics had decidedly taken their toll on me. Still trying to learn to swim though and at the rate i'm going at i will be going in the zimmer frame to the pool edge. I miss my badmington, cycling and walking though, but hey ho it might be on 2 sticks but i will get there, so don't give up because i've no intention of it. (Just need to recover for the next 3-4 days but it's worth it).
Good morning to Redfox-Sarah, welcome to out band of merriment. You will see there are quite a few of us on here just like yourself , but hopefully the banter and support that you get from all our wonders of wilsonettes will let you see that we have friends that we have never met, but dear friends that i have never found anywhere else.
Enjoy the beautiful card front when you receive it Ginger - Sheila as it was stunning.
Hopefully i will see you all tomorrow because for the first weekend in weeks my hubby is working so he will not be getting me to humph new doors or new bunkers for him to cut, screw, hold etc. I honestly thinks that it'll not matter as the bodies knackered anyway and he can't be bothered teaching our son how to do things as he has no patience, but whey heyyyy,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

Hi Sue and all Wilsonettes. Grrrr ! 4th time lucky !
Yooohooo, Norah, has my brain joined yours, hiding away up in those hills ? SO many beautiful Wilsonettes I want to point out Ive had to write you down on a scrap of paper !!!! Ohhh for a younger brain (and body) come to think of it !!
Sheila - Ginger - CONGRATS on winning Wednesdays card : )
Michelle S - WELCOME home : )
Janet ECO of SHEFFEILD -.SO sorry your daughter has had such a dreadful fall, that's going to need a lot of metal work, hope your Sue Wilson dies dont draw themselves to your daughters, keep those magnetic sheets handy !
KAREN Stafford - This must be a time of mixed emotions for you, thinking of you xx
NANNY Jo - Stand BACK from the credit card !
NORAH - LOVE your idea regarding the candle forever looking over Berkely Angle. Id like to do that for my sweetheart who I shed millions of tears for everyday (12mths yesterday)
and TINA - take each day as it comes, cry whenever you want. We will be here when you're ready sweetheart xx

WOW. I LOVE those new dies, arn't they beautiful ? Once I have more of Sue's new dies, this new one is a must. Im still finding time to carry through Karens fab idea - making a folder of die shapes to play with and jiggle about, I love that idea, so sensible. Once Norah coaxes my brain from the hills, I'll certainly start my own folder of lovliness : )
Im sure there is a dress amongst this stamp set almost like my daughters wedding gown. Cameeli, you dont need to give others your hard earned cash to help you lose weight, you can do it and do it well, you've proved it: )
(spend it on crafting) : ) you've done great so far and you will continue to do so.
Thanks Sue for every card you show us, for taking the time for us, and the care you show.
Have a lovely Saturday (whats left) and see you all tomorrow.
Lancashire Steph xxx

Good afternoon Sue and all followers. Lovely card.

Lovely card. Really like those rectangles. They set off the stamp beautifully. Also a nice touch to stamp on the patterned paper for the gown. Would I have thought of doing that without your inspiration? Highly unlikely.
Thank you Sue.
Hope you've all been enjoying the sunshine! Love Jan

Sue, I'm in the confessional! HAD to buy the Mystical Embrace dies (ICON) so nothing more for me for a good while - please no more new temptations. (Especially as I have four sets of your FT's too.) Six months worth of spending all in a few days OMG. Ladies, if you need a new set, just cull your unused ones and sell them on eBay - I know it certainly eases my conscience and someone else will get a bargain!
Karen Stafford - BIG HUGS, a time for both happiness and sadness too.
So many with heavy hearts. Love to Tina.

Helloooo Sue and our family Wilsonettes! Stunning stunning card Sue x I so so love the Mystical Embrace die, it is beautiful.....and the classic rose die too. Love those gorgeous roses and those pins...! The stamp is lovely and so pretty stamped on patterned paper and the background being micro beaded, just lovely! Congratulations Sheila on winning the Wednesday card giveaway! Wonderful! As always, I will say, when it comes, it is even more beautiful in real life. Cameeli, forget gyms. The walking and swimming are so much better! Glad you're enjoying the swimming. My husband and I have lost nearly three stone each just by mainly cutting down on the carbs, (potatoes, mashed and roasted, pasta, bread). We both use the old sticks so we stick to walking! To Steph I'm doing the same with the scrap of paper and names! I used to read yours and Norah's wonderful stories after I'd posted....but not now! As soon as I've watched Sue's video or read the instructions I'm there! You could have both written a fantastic book! I know it is late in the day but good to see you back Michelle, Janet, I hope your daughter will be okay, Karen in the mixture of emotions that you have had....Tina, lovely to see you yesterday. We all understand and we'll all be here for you, anytime. Welcome to Redfox! You are welcome Shirley! I hope you had a wonderful day! Sending hugs to all who need them here xx Lve Karen xx

Hi Sue
Would it be possible on one of your videos to show us just how you tie what you call a 'messy bow' which is anything but messy. Mine on the other hand do look awfully messy often ending up in the bin!
Thank you so much.
