Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello all!  It's time to give another card away!  I love Wednesdays!  Today's card is a kraft card creation and I was really pleased with how this one turned out!  I started with the large Polka Dot mask and placed it over a 6 inch square piece of kraft card and embossed the pattern in it.  Then,  I taped it down well and sponged through the mask with Adirondack pigment ink in Snow Cap to add colour to the embossed areas.  I matted it on white card, then went to work on my focal element.  I stamped the coffee cup on to milk card.  I coloured the image with Distress markers and cut it out by hand.  I stamped the image again, but this time only coloured the rose and cut it out.  I mounted the rose on foam over the image on the cup for dimension.    I stamped the image a third time onto kraft card and cut it out with the Marvellous Squares.  I inked through the die with Snow cap to soften the edges then cut another matching piece to back it with out of white card.  I stamped three swirls with the snow cap ink pad above the cup to look like steam rising from the cup.  I tied some Heather coloured seam binding around the card then added my focal element in the centre.  I tied a messy bow and added it to the left with a bit of natural jute twine and a burlap rose from my stash.  I added two matching stick pins that I made from beads in my stash and stamped a tag with a friendly message and added it to my bow.  I finished the card with mixed colour mats and an inner pierced layer.  If you would like a chance to win this card, just leave a comment on the post today. The winner will be announced on Saturday's post.  Finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 7 3/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
Bought craft card because of the last card you did Sue as you are slowly bringing me around to the card card concept. I really like the coffee cup stamp but after the blowout that i had up in Glasgow on a certain parties dies the stamp will need to wait a few months. I like the varying textures that you have going on in your card this morning and thinking that i could make a different version up for my mum's blind friend as perfect for her to "see".
I have wedding invites to do samples of today as my old friends' daughter is getting married again and she is coming tomorrow to see what see likes and tell me how many see will be needing. She loves her cornet and her hubby to be is a horse freak so we will see how she wants this interpreted into an invitation. Thinking music note and horse shoe linking to shut the invite, but we will see. From the frozen north face of the arctic again today that is slowly warming i wish you all a great day if possible and love and hugs to our friends having such a hard time the now.
Love and crafty hugs

Just having a sit down and cuppa and this is the perfect card to compliment them! Really like the effect where you have used the white ink to highlight areas, and the turquoise splashes of colour are perfect with the Kraft card. Might try this technique with the stamp set you sent me last week. Thank you, Love Susan x

Another stunner, different again. Dont have the stamp but do have 1000's of other stamps, so sure would find something suitable and craft card, turquoise card etc etc etc.

Weather here in Paisley (outside Glasgow ) is beautiful but I have the dreaded lurgy so feeling poorly and staying in doing nothing.

Everyone have a good and peaceful day.

Hello Sue and all Wilsonettes. I just wanted to thank oh so many many people who have posted comments for me on a daily basis. I have been reading them daily and although constantly in tears I wanted you all to know how very very much I appreciate everything you have said, the support you have given is tremendous and I know Tim would have been so pleased. I will come back to the blog once I am feeling better, it is just so hard at the moment.
Love to you all,
Pam

Lindsay - brilliant!! Congrats and it's lovely to see someone with some good news and obviously well-earned.
We have some horses grazing our land from a successful riding school, they're on time-out at the moment. Love having them here (though scared of horses unless they're on the other side of a fence!!) Have NEVER ridden but wish I had tried years ago.

Hi Sue,

OMG back from a very long, hard day at work during which I kept thinking about making a card tomorrow using kraft card and a distress ink peacock feathers blue. Even planned on altering the colour of some seam binding with peacock feathers.

PS bit obsessed with peacock feathers at the moment :)
