You Make Me Smile

Hello there my crafty friends!  A pop of bright blue to catch your eye today!  I started by cutting the Atlantic Ocean Background out of coconut white card.  I left a wide margin around it and added mounting foam.  A backing of white card was added for a tone on tone look.  I cut the Bermuda die in Royal Blue card and added a silver mirror card backing and added it to the centre of the background.  I cut the centre of the Bermuda in white, added a silver mirror card backing and cut the centre out to create a frame.  I added foam to the back.  I stamped my sentiment and cut the inside die from the Bermuda to create a decorative look around it and glued it on top of the sentiment.  The frame was added around the edge and then attached to the centre of the card.  I tied a messy bow out of matching blue seam binding and added it with a pearl button in the centre.  White and blue mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  7 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Lovely card Sue, so beautiful and I love the bow too.
Thank you for my gift of the stamp set, lovely floral theme and such a large set. You are so kind with your giveaways.
Muriel, glsd you are enjoying your holiday, don't try to overdo it. New York is huge and so much to see. Have a great time.
Elaine, I hope Andrew is feeling better and gets some help from his Consultant. It is so hard to watch them go through this and there is nothing you can do to help just be there for support. Please take care of yourself too. I'm disgusted that there are putting expense before your safety.and welfare. Have a word with your MP, see if they can help.
June, thanks for the tip with the foam, I have the TH and the Eureka presses so will keep that in mind.
Sharon, I have the same problem here so I do understand. Little by little you will get there.
Crewe Trish, as long as you are enjoying your holiday. Stay in the shade, nice cool drink, good book and my iPad, I would be in heaven. I don't tan, just burn (was a redhead before hair turned white blonde) so no point trying. Enjoy your holiday.
Karen hope the ankle is a little easier to bear and that your hubby is okay too.
Daily hugs to all, thinking of all of our poorly and missing friends, have a great day.

Lovely card Sue and such a beautiful shade of blue.

We are going to see the bosses of our flat today about the door situation and also the aggravation from the lady in the flat above me ,she has started to stamp and bang her feet again and letting the cat run riot in the early hours above our bedroom floor { her lounge } we have told the Deputy and kept the time and dates of every occasion on Friday last, she woke me at 1.30 slamming the door and was just walking up and down and banging , the cat was running wild and i think perhaps he tripped her up on two occasions , either that or the drink was having a huge effect, this went on until 5 30 in the morning , Monday night when i went to bed her TV was so loud i could not concentrate on my book , finally at 1.40 it all went quiet but sadly i was still awake at 3.00 i just could not get back to sleep . I have just about had enough .

Andrews Consultant has brought his treatment forward just one day , so today and every 2nd Wednesday ,she has also put him down for another scan hopefully it will be in a week or two .

I must crack on and get ready

Sending big hugs to all especially my besties
Take care

Dear Sue and Dearie Pies,

We should call this Atlantic Blue, because it's so nautical and looks great with white.

I love your mix of raised and recessed.

So sorry about the bureaucratic setbacks.

Today at work, an editor gave me my assignment for Saturday, working in a food truck at a waterfront event, and writing about the experience. It's a truck that serves barbecue, and he followed up with advice from the owners. "Don't wear any clothes," he began as my eyebrows rose, "that you care about." Also no bracelets and no stiletto heels. No problem! For once I'm looking forward to working on a Saturday.

I'm nodding off. Happy holidays to all those on vacation. Blest wishes for a speedy recovery to all those who wish they felt better, and really huggy hugs to all takers.

Love,
Donita
